Hotel Wayne

The staff from the time we checked in till we checked out was very friendly. The room considering the age was nice. The food from their restaurant was absolutely delicious. The only problem we had was sleeping tho. Having a bar downstairs and nothing between it and upstairs the noise from the customers and music was really bad. Saturday night it stayed loud until 2 in am. If they did something like doors between stairs to room and bar to help with noise would be great. We ended leaving early in morning to go home and sleep. Other than noise it really is a nice hotel.

We couldn't stay because we couldn't get to the second floor. We hope expedia would include accessibility information for their sites.

We stay here when visiting family in the area - it is old, quaint and unique - we get a kick out of the entire experience - the bar and restaurant downstairs is great! Always an easy process in and out.

It was like walking back in time...the craftmanship of the pub and dining area is original. Staff was very friendly. And it is pet friendly as well.

No elevator but not an issue. It's an old building. The big issue was the shower. There was a sign that said do not flush toliet while using the shower. I didnt realize that meant the whole floor. The shower lost pressure every other minute. When it returned, it was ice cold. Bed was low to ground but comfortable. I was on the third floor.

The staff was very freindly. The entire hotel is pet friendly.

This is a quaint, histoical hotel. I loved the real keys, the restaurant's atmosphere and the food was awesome. The toilet in our room kept running, but in fairness, i didn't inform anyone. I loved the artwork, the woodwork and the atmosphere of the hotel. I would stay there again

Historic town and hotel, limited options in the area. Staff were nice and property was clean.

The property is extremely rundown. The sink was almost falling off the wall. The floor was very, very sloped. Lots of cracks and broken items. The bathroom had an undersized sink and toilet, and a very small tub and it was all blue left over from the 70s. Staircase and hallways were very dirty. The room itself was clean, but smelled of disinfectant. No nearby free parking available. All that being said, the staff was very nice and helpful. The building would just need a complete remodel. Overpriced, considering the facilities.

The property is historic and the condition of the property reflects that. The bathroom is moldy, the ceiling has water stains, the bed is uncomfortable, the wifi is spotty at best, the A/C didn't work well and the window shades can't be closed without blocking the air flow from the A/C window units.

This is a wonderful historic hotel. Don't expect Hilton crispness, doors are older, lock and key, tempo rental hot water, but simply old school and charming. Lines and bedding were crisp and clean. Very old town but what a building, almost two hundred years old.

Shower water would get extremely hot and cold all of sudden for 15 seconds. Otherwise, for the age of the property, well maintained and clean.

Very basic room shower was very dirty but sheets and bed were fine. Needed a place to stay for night near kids camp so location very convenient.

Building was very neglected, poorly staffed facility, sheets on bed were dirty, dirty laundry found in bags.at the end of the hall.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this hotel. The property is neither clean, safe, nor suitable for guests. The carpets were heavily stained and emitted an unpleasant odor, the drop ceiling showed signs of water damage and disrepair, and the chandelier appeared dangerously unstable. The flooring was uneven, and the door frame had a visible gap large enough to raise concerns about pests. Despite being moved to three different rooms and eventually “upgraded” to a two-bedroom suite, the conditions remained unacceptable. The suite itself was severely outdated, and most disturbingly, I discovered a used condom in the bathroom — an absolutely unacceptable lapse in cleanliness and hygiene. What was intended to be a two-night stay lasted only a few hours before I made alternative arrangements at another hotel. I am currently seeking a full refund. Based on my experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend this property to anyone.

We enjoyed our several stays at the Wayne Hotel. The restaurant and bar was very good and the staff very friendly. It makes it so convenient when you arrive as we drove miles to get there. It's nice to have that restaurant/bar in the hotel. The rooms were clean and roomy for an older hotel.

Unfortunately I felt extremely unsafe and uncomfortable, like never before in any other hotel. The hotel is looking vintage and nice, but it definitely needs to be taken good care off. Badly smell starts from lobby. The room by itself was just terrible, old, poor, smelled, dirty carpet, broken furniture, cracked walls… I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND to anyone staying in this hotel. I believe that type of property can not be acceptable by the law as a hotel. P.S. 1 night of this experience cost me $244

Nice old historic property but walking 3 flights of stairs on these old legs was tiring. Also the hot water would come and go and sometimes shut off completely for a few seconds. But if want to try something that is a throwback to early 1900’s , you love it!

Hotel Wayne is a lovely property. It was perfect for one night. My only complaints were that the bathroom in my room was so small that my knees hit the door when I was on the toilet and the shower was not functional because the temperature was uncontrollable. Very clean. Lovely staff. If I was staying for any longer I would have asked about the shower. Very cute street with a lot of restaurants.

Receptionist was watching tv when we arrived. We had to get her attention for service. The room was on the street side of the building, very noisy. We asked if we could switch rooms, they had no other option. No coffee maker in room. Receptionist did not know what time coffee was provided in the dining hall in the morning. We checked out one hour after we checked in.

Big room BUT only 4 lights, one of which did not work, sink in room because bathroom VERY small with toilet and SMALL shower in bathroom. Shower is old plastic insert with SMALL area to put a small soap and small hotel size bottle of shampoo. I am 5'8" and the shower head was below the top of my head. BEWARE if you are tall. Sink in room had a KITCHEN faucet in it and the end where the water came out was almost over the edge of the sink. NO CLOSETS, only place for clothes are in your suitcase or one small ,draw in end tables. NO A/C, No hairdryer. Small mini fridge on floor and a microwave sitting on top. Put can of soda in fridge without actually checking and the next day it was frozen solid and bulging out.

Shower heat was inconsistent, the lighting in the room was very dim, and some outlets did not work.

Rooms were VERY dated (the blue sink was loose from the wall) and our floor slanted. Our room was very clean and bed comfy. Staff very accommodating and friendly. The bistro was excellent and so charming.

This is an old historic building so there are limitations we expected. The room and bathroom were very small and feel dated and a little dingy, especially for the price. Rooms could easily be spruced up and updated while maintaining the historic charm. Overall, the building and hotel do provide an experience. The bistro is very nice, food is ok and some staff were great. There are lots of shops and restaurants on the Main Street which is a nice amenity. If you need or want to be in Honesdale, there are not many options and this is an ok one. The bar did stay open late on a Friday so that was a plus.

Its a shame, The hotel is quaint and historic and I have stayed in the past. But the hotel is extremely run down. The shower water issues are water stops, comes back on cold and then comes on scalding. carpets are bad. Internet winks on and off. I feel bad leaving this review but it's time for the hotel to retire.

Space heaters in room, TV wires hanging all over the wall, old windows (sounded like I was sleeping on the sidewalk), shower with caulk everywhere, tired carpet etc. This place could be incredible, with a major renovation. Restaurant was decent but bartender was cold and rather unimpressive. Will not stay here again.

Although we made our reservations later on in the evening, we arrived prior to midnight to no one at the desk. We waited almost 45 minutes for someone to show up to give us a room key. Im fairly certain we would’ve enjoyed this day had that not occurred. Given the history and age the condition was as to be expected minus some furniture that could be updated. Not saying I would never stay again because I liked the history of the place, but would stay in the hotel and check in during the day. The person that did finally show up to check us and barely said a word to us and pretty much just handed us the key with no info or much of an apology really. Honestly paid too much for what ai dealt with though. Didn’t have other options and two toddlers so we waited

This hotel is in a very poor state but the bed was comfortable and the staff was excellent. We also enjoyed eating at the Bistro 1202.

Property is completely outdated. While showering, if the neighboring room flushed the toilet, you got scalding hot water. The bartender on weekends was completely unfriendly. Our last night there, a ceiling tile fell into our tub, causing us to request another room to use for showers prior to leaving. The night staff gentleman was super helpful, both mornings, insuring the coffee and danish were ready, and helping us to get a room for showers after our tub became unusable. The weekend check in clerk was extremely helpful also. Otherwise, would not recommend,

The hotel bar downstairs was a disaster. Bar tender was hostile, abusive, was threatened with bodily harm. No words. I've traveled the world, even Ukraine during this war - never had such an experience before. For the record, I did not do ANYTHING to provoke the situation.

I love hotel Wayne for its historical character, its distance to everything honesdale, and having the restaurant & bar downstairs with Paulies food directly behind it. The 2 bedroom apartment is over the wine room which is nice since it’s a private (and only 1 ) stairway. While there’s limited hotel accommodations, this one will give you everything you need. I will always upgrade from the standard room (which I’ve stayed in - there’s a reason for upgrading !)

Billed as a “historic property,” this hotel was shabby and uncomfortable. Its last renovation appeared to have been in the 1980s, the bed was lumpy, the cheap paneling walls painted a sickly beige. It felt vaguely unclean although linens were replaced daily. Our room had two pictures on the wall—the same picture. Good downtown location.

Prior to check-in I asked if I could pay in cash and keep the card on file for incidentals and they said that was fine. When I checked in, it was put on my card and then later she apologized for putting it on my card when I had asked to pay cash. I was told to go up three flights of stairs to our room as there was no elevator. Once I got my kids, my elderly parent and all of our luggage in hand. We went up three flights of stairs only to find out our room was outside of the hotel, around the corner and up a flight of stairs. My booking was for queen beds and a pullout couch, but upon arrival into the room, the beds were double and the pullout couch didn’t work. This room does not work if you Don’t have a fabulous center of gravity because the whole thing tilts one way or another. There were many holes in the walls and the stairs to the room were super unsafe and tilted as well as the platform to the room. There were so many bugs and cobwebs along the way it was really disturbing that I spent more on this room than I have in really fancy hotels. We were very disappointed and this room and the location. The really good thing about this was there was room to spread out and hang out and the three window air conditioners made it easy to make each room comfortable. We walked up and down Main Street for the two nights that we were there, and there is a lot of history to take in And many bars and restaurants to Check out.

The options in Honesdale are limited. We didn’t want to spend $250 a night at the other loft up the road. However, upon check-in, the following were disappointing. The bartender was amazing and very upbeat and helpful! She gave us a different room where the bed opened! Pull out couch in the first room (327) wouldn’t open as the room isn’t wide enough(others have apparently opened the bed, and it scratched the armoire in the room), the queen bed in that room is indeed lopsided. We moved to room 320. That rooms sofa bed wouldn’t open as it appeared to be broken but my husband was able to open it. There were no sheets in the room for the pull out, so I had to bother the bartender again for bedding. There were pillows on the floor in a very dirty closet-we had brought our own from home. The sink dripped the whole time. The queen bed was also lopsided. The coffee pot was very dirty and there were no coffee supplies to make coffee in the morning. Head down to Anatomy-coffee there is amazing! It’s an old hotel, I get it. The age of the hotel was not the issue. The age of the building had nothing to do with those issues. The people were very polite and helpful! A for all of them! Iris the bartender! Love her!

I love having the dining area in the hotel. Makes it easy when you are tired and hungry. The place was clean and quiet.

The property was very nice. We really liked that the original structure was kept intact. However, the rooms need a little more upkeep. The shower in my room leaked and the bathroom door did not close properly. Also, the exhaust fan in the bathroom is quite loud, there should be a switch to turn it off separately from the light. Just a few minor details that need to be addressed. The restaurant and bar, lcoated downstairs, was amazing. My husband and I would definitely stay here again.
