Wonderful resort in an amazing location on Paradise Bay. Kayaking, yoga, and other activities available. Outside of the city. Staff consistently goes the extra mile. Great if you enjoy nature and quiet.

Liked it overall. Interesting location, in the middle of a residential area but right on Kaneohe Bay and they have a boat exclusive to the hotel guests that you can pay to go snorkling at the reef and walking on the sandbar and swim with the sea turtles (well worth it). Also cool that you can use the hotels kayaks to paddle around the area. Really cool pontoons next to the estuary to have an afternoon drink and/or snack (also good they have BBQ's to cook your own meals). The stairs/driveway are pretty steep, a ramp would be better. The rooms aren't too bad - a little tired in some ways but you don't spend a lot of time there anyway with a pool and other activities to do. I deliberately chose to stay away from Honolulu/Waikiki on this trip and I think it was the right choice - much quieter than the tourist madness of that area, though still accessible via Uber. I would consider staying here again and had a good week.

If you are looking for a resort experience this is not the place for you. This is a place to feel like family. I would say it is like a bed and breakfast. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are roosters and cats and sealife all around. The pool was clean and hot tub worked. This is like staying in someone’s home. The parking was small. The banana bread every morning was amazing. You will get an aloha experience far from the crazy city. We really enjoyed the views of the bay and the deck. The beds are very soft!

We enjoyed our stay immensely. Weekday yoga, snorkeling excursion, free kayaks for use in the bay, outdoor pool and jacuzzi all made this the perfect spot for our family. One parent and two young adults ages 20, 21. After visiting the hustle and bustle of Waikiki for the day, I can say that staying at this resort definitely created the Hawaiian vacay resort vibe our family needed. The staff was kind, responsive and considerate of guests needs. The other guests were also very courteous during our stay. Some things to consider, there are a lot of stairs on the property. Some rooms are better than others in terms of features (e.g. outdoor space, water view). The resort is in a somewhat remote residential location. There were some minor maintenance issues, a shower head drip, worn toilet seat, that I’m confident management will resolve. The beds felt like new and very comfortable. Sheets, pillows, furniture, floors, bathrooms all clean. With a car the location is perfect. We drive our rental car to the south shore, east shore and north shore during our week long visit. We were able to get from:to the airport and all of our desired locations in about 30 minutes. Special shout to Jackie who made us feel especially calm and welcome after a sticky situation led us magically to the resort. To Marissa for working with management to help arrange for the excursion. And to Pua for being available for evening questions.

Live music 4pm to 7pm monday to friday is fantastic. Banana bread for breakfast is good but not for every single day. Parking is tight and it should be free ($18 plus tax daily). The resort is situated in a residential area surrounded by tropical forest and plants, beautiful and quiet. It's only 30 minutes drive to anywhere, North Shore, Lanikai, Waikiki etc, conveniently located. There's no restaurant at the hotel, you need to cook your own meal or drive. Overall it's a nice, quiet and relaxing place to stay.

The property is very nice and provides a tranquil and relaxing experience just a 30 minute drive from Honolulu. There is a twice a week boat tour that took us snorkeling near a coral reef and then to a large sand bar. The pool area and hot tub are nice as well as the options to use kayaks and paddle boards. The fitness room is probably under utilitzed since most days I was the only person inside. Overall the area is quiet and staff were helpful. In the room where we stayed the sliding glass door was difficult to open and close and the couch was difficult to sit on since the cushion would slide out from under us or the whole frame would move suddenly.

It’s somewhat private in a rather remote location, & hard to navigate along very narrow streets. I would never have found it if not for GPS. Parking is extraordinarily limited & challenging, & the driveway is at about a 90 degree slope! I had to get out of the car to look, because it looks like you’re about to drive off a cliff! Otherwise pleasant & quiet.

We recently spent 5 nights at Paradise Bay Resort. The location is lovely, away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu. The staff were wonerful, very pleasant. Check in was easy! We were provided with towels and fins for our adventures off site! Always a cool drink available and banana bread in the morning. Our room was very spacious with fridge, hot plate and a microwave, however not very clean. My white socks were black within minutes of removing my shoes. Not that is was an issue for us, but there was no phone in our room. A storm had passsed through before our arrival, and we had no cable tv for our entire visit. We asked about it once, and were told it would be fixed that day, but that never happened. The wifi recption in our room was very weak. We had to go out on the deck to get reception or hold our device against the window to get service. We ended up "hot spotting" the data from our phone plan to use our tablets. There was not a TV in the bedroom. There were no clocks. No dressing mirror. Lots of cob webs. There was no plug for the kitchen sink. The daily resort fee is high on top of the nightly rates. Roosters! Lots and lots of Roosters! Bring ear plugs, they start at 2AM every morning. However, the location made up for the old, dated and worn out room. Once again, the staff were amazing!

This review is meant to help those future guests. The location of the hotel is great it has an amazing view. You feel like you’re in the middle of the jungle. The resort/ hotel needs an update so there are many inconveniences. The price is low due to the hiccups throughout the facility. They are currently remodeling the kitchen therefore there’s no breakfast options. They do provide Banana bread, whole fruit, and coffee. Our room was below the lobby and we could hear foot traffic that starts at 0530. The beds in our room very comfortable. The bathroom was small the shower head needs to be changed. It was oxidized. There was paint chipped off some furniture. We found small roaches throughout the kitchen/ sink area. The walls are very thin I can hear other guests convos and their tvs. There’s chickens and roosters around the property so if you’re a light sleeper you will be awaken by them as early as 0500 am. They don’t stop cackling until maybe 8am. I contacted the front desk about the issues we had and they acknowledged the issues and moved us to a different room.the room was a 2 bed and had more space but the tv remote control didn’t work. We pressed on Amazon but Took us toHulu. Netflix wasn’t accessible as the remote didn’t work. Used the local channels on the roku.The rooms had no tvs. Only living room area.The room was clean and beds were comfortable but it was noisy with all cars being in and out next to the lobby. Which makes sense the pricing being lowered.heads up.

I thought the resort was better than the manager! I would have rated it higher but I brought to the attention of the manager a problem with an insect hatching. The Front Desk staff were very hospitable, professional and helpful. Our suite was spacious and we loved the kitchen and coffee machine. We accessed the laundry services and used a kayak. All were great. The fees added quite a bit to the overall cost so pay attention. The setting is quiet, on a small inlet with floating platforms to hang out on, which we enjoyed. It is not a fancy place but the location, comfort, eco-friendly aspects and the staff were worthy of an above-average rating.

Biggest negative:ROACHES IN THE ROOM!! ONLY positive thing:Micah who was the night check in staff. ! The property is located in the middle of a neighborhood which seemed strange. Upon entering the room, it was clear that the pictures were much nicer than the actual room. It had old motel/dorm room vibes. Utilizing outdoor patio furniture as living room furniture also seems like an odd choice. No ceiling or standing fans, only one small, old and barely functioning window AC unit in the living room. Very stuffy and uncomfortable. The shower knob seems ready to break. Switched rooms for a cost to get functioning AC, encountered more patio furniture, painted brick walls, old dirty/rusted stove top, smaller bathroom and ROACHES. Left within minutes of seeing/killing them as we didn’t want to see how many more would come crawling out. Hotel wouldn’t refund since it was booked through Expedia. Contacted Expedia who reached out to the hotel and the hotel again refused to refund my 3 night stay. I was there for only 3 hours max! Expedia should stop working with this glorified motel trying to pass itself off as a resort. Truly the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had and the only time that I have left a place.

Upon entering the room, it was clear that the pictures were much nicer than the actual room. It had old motel/dorm room vibes. Utilizing outdoor patio furniture as living room furniture also seems like an odd choice. No ceiling or standing fans, only one small, old and barely functioning window AC unit in the living room. Very stuffy and uncomfortable. The shower knob seems ready to break. Switched rooms for a cost to get functioning AC, encountered more patio furniture, painted brick walls, old dirty/rusted stove top, smaller bathroom and ROACHES. Left within minutes of seeing/killing them as we didn’t want to see how many more would come crawling out. Hotel wouldn’t refund since it was booked through Expedia. Contacted Expedia who reached out to the hotel and the hotel again refused to refund my 3 night stay. I was there for only 3 hours max! Expedia should stop working with this glorified motel trying to pass itself off as a resort. Truly the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had and the only time that I have left a place.

We very much enjoyed the view from this hotel room/suite. The design of the actual room was challenging. Doors to the closets, cabinets and microwave are mounted backwards. There is no screen door to the lanai. The AC is extremely loud (but thankfully it worked). The windows are old, and we could hear everything outside. The adjoining door was super thin, and we could hear everything our neighbors said and did. On our first night, I heard the neighbors having sex. Then I heard them arguing. Then I heard a man say, "You never let me enjoy myself." Not something I wanted to hear on my honeymoon. The posting on Expedia shows that the site is on the water and that snorkeling is available. When I asked about swimming, the receptionist told me that the nearest swimming beach is in Kailua (which is a 20 minute drive). She said that even with reef walkers the bay was too rocky and muddy for swimming. The pool had no bathroom. We had to go up two levels to our room to go to the bathroom. I was told three things by three people regarding housekeeping and towel exchanges. We only asked for housekeeping once. We were terribly disappointed. They only changed the sheets and replaced the towels. No one cleaned the floors, the shower, nor wiped down the kitchenette. So we didn't bother to request it again. The view was absolutely beautiful! The morning coffee, banana bread, and other treats were appreciated. We enjoyed the evening entertainment.

There was an infestation of cockroaches in my hotel room. They were even in the drawers where the utensils were! I also saw that there was insect/bug poising underneath the countertop stove. The hotel did not seem surprised with the fact that this was going on.

Paradise Bay is a quaint little location away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. It’s a cute place to stay. The building is older, so there are some challenges that come with that. The rooms have box air conditioning; the room we stayed in was a two bedroom. The third room only had a ceiling fan so it was quite warm the entire timeespecially with the humidity. There are steep steps to get to the different areas including most rooms, so be away of that if it is an issue for you. There were tiny bugs in the bathroom and kitchen. The most frustrating thing was the towel situation. We had a two bedroom that slept at least four people and were checked in for three people but there were only two bath towels. There was a lengthy process of calling in to get towels, having someone pick them up, and then having new towels delivered. They would not give additional towels so that we had enough for each person. We worked around it by using the pool towels which were easier to get. The room that we choose had a full kitchen with refrigerator or, microwave, microwave ouster, and cook to9. There are BBQs on site too. If you want to use kayaks/SUP/snorkel be sure to reserve potentially days in advance to make sure they are available. There are adorable chickens and cats roaming around which add a bit of fun to the experience; but one of the guys seems to think 1am is something to crow about so if you are a light sleeper you may want ear plugs. Or fried chicken.

Property and accomodations were nice but we had small problem with A/C. It was not working properly (vent partially.clogged) and we contacted the staff. They confirmed the problem and were unable to fix it. They said they were contacting someone but two days later problem not fixed.

They Mountain view room was just a view of a water channell with trees and the very tip of the mtns it should of said pool view because that is what it was and noisy..Parking as you had to pay for it was awful. Very limited. The room was nice and a nice size but there was no chair to sit in for reading, watching tv or putting shoes on. There were 2 tall stools with the inside table and 2 tall chairs with the deck table that you still could not see over. For the cost of a room not worth it to me. It is out of the way but not peaceful. Lots of stairs in and out to get anywhere on the property. Had to carry luggage up and down those stairs. SAD

Amenities and staff were fantastic.The lobby is open to the outdoors, very unique place. Atmosphere was so refreshing and relaxing. The outdoors were an oasis with the views, landscaping and seating areas on the water. The room was comfortable , great bed with porch seating area overlooking the water. The room interior could use some updating but was clean and comfortable. We’d definitely return, it’s not your typical hotel but a unique retro experience of being in nature with a true tropical vibe.

I do not recommended this room, especially if you're a light sleeper. Part of the room faces the parking lot and part faces the street. The hotel is in a (very) residential neighborhood and there are many roosters in the neighborhood. The neighbors were in and out of their cars and setting of alarms until roughly midnight, and roosters started crowing at roughly 3AM. There was only one AC unit in the bedroom and it is old and very noisy. It did not cool the room efficiently. Sitting/kitchen area is small and no sofa in the room. The room was clean overall but there was some grime buildup in the bathroom near the shower and vanity that clearly the cleaning staff have overlooked. My husband and I stayed two nights during our Hawaii honeymoon. This resort is tucked away in a residential area. It’s very serene and has a beautiful view of a mountain from their docks. The rooms are nice but definitely a little older and worn. The inside living room furniture is actually outside furniture so not very comfortable. The biggest issue is the walls are very thin. We could hear everything from the rooms next door and I’m sure they could hear us as well. Overall it was nice but not as “private” as we would have hoped.

If you’ve had it with corporate money grab hotels in Waikiki, a mad dash for deck chairs, long lines, and overpriced rentals, this one is for you. Beautiful peaceful setting, calm waters, low key, modest footprint with complementary activities and a very friendly and attentive small staff. This is what Aloha feels like. I will definitely be back soon.

It started off rocky with a couple mix ups on our reservation but the staff was great and made it all worthwhile. The boat to the sandbar was really fun. The parking situation needs to be worked on. Walking up and down stairs was really exhausting. All in all we’d stay again.

It was clean and had a beautiful view. It was also centrally located, so that was convenient. Other than that it was average at best. Parking was difficult. They should paint lines and assign spots because people end up taking 2 spots, then there isn’t enough room for everyone to park. The hotel doesn’t seem to care about that one bit. Asked for extra towels and it was kind of a hassle. They ended up giving us one extra towel. Not sure what the big deal was? Anyway, it was an affordable option and clean. Good enough for sleeping and showering, which is all that really matters. The front desk clerks were nice-ish, not rude or anything, but this hotel doesn’t go above and beyond for their guests.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. Weekday yoga, snorkeling excursion, free kayaks for use in the bay, outdoor pool and jacuzzi all made this the perfect spot for our family. One parent and two young adults ages 20, 21. After visiting the hustle and bustle of Waikiki for the day, I can say that staying at this resort definitely created the Hawaiian vacay resort vibe our family needed. The staff was kind, responsive and considerate of guests needs. The other guests were also very courteous during our stay. Some things to consider, there are a lot of stairs on the property. Some rooms are better than others in terms of features (e.g. outdoor space, water view). The resort is in a somewhat remote residential location. There were some minor maintenance issues, a shower head drip, worn toilet seat, that I’m confident management will resolve. The beds felt like new and very comfortable. Sheets, pillows, furniture, floors, bathrooms all clean. With a car the location is perfect. We drive our rental car to the south shore, east shore and north shore during our week long visit. We were able to get from:to the airport and all of our desired locations in about 30 minutes. Special shout to Jackie who made us feel especially calm and welcome after a sticky situation led us magically to the resort. To Marissa for working with management to help arrange for the excursion. And to Pua for being available for evening questions.

Avoid! I booked a room through Expedia and when I arrived I had been "upgraded" to a different and worse room (booked a room with a view and rebooked to a room without a view). While some other reviews are leaving distasteful reviews on location and neighborhood, I will say this resort is PERFECT for those looking for a quiet place away from packed tourist area. It's a shame that after doing much research on a place you show up to a bad situation on vacation. After speaking with reception for over an hour on solutions, the business presented nothing acceptable since I was told all rooms were booked. I was told "feel free to cancel", which I proceeded with then was later told that there was >$200 "cancellation fee". Lovely. I was left to find a new place at 5:30pm on a Saturday. Reading other reviews its apparent this sort of thing happened to others and that the customer service is egregious.

The location is secluded which is fine if that’s what you are seeking. The issues I had with this hotel are 1. it sounded like a heard of elephants with the family and young kids that stayed above us. There is absolutely no insolation. 2 The front desk does not answer the phone. The only way we could get a hold of anyone was to email. 3. They do not clean the rooms and you must fill out some kind of online form to have the garbage taken out , get towels etc… we didn’t totally understand the process and asked the front desk as we were getting pool towels. They forgot to submit it and my friend was angry when we got back to the room and it was still dirty. My friend was out of line with her tone when the young woman came to the door to deliver towels. I later emailed (since they don’t answer the phone) and apologized and said my friend was out of line. They came the next day and cleaned our room. I was going out to meet my local friends and realized I couldn’t find my Hawaiian bracelet. Thought I misplaced it although I hadn’t worn it. My friend also had earrings missing. I tore the room apart looking for my expensive bracelet that was a gift from my father in law. I emailed the hotel and of course they said they didn’t have it. I’m still just sick about it but know two things: I will never stay their again or travel with that friend again. :(

This was our second stay at Paradise Bay. Jackie at the front desk was very kind and helpful at check in and in booking us a kayak for the next day. There were a lot of stairs to get to our room and I have a lung condition so next time Ill try and get a room with less stairs and closer parking. Room was nice and clean.

While the resort doesn’t offer a full breakfast, they do provide tea, coffee, and delicious banana bread each morning, which was a nice touch. Another thoughtful amenity was the free water refill station, which came in incredibly handy. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and full of great local recommendations, helping us make the most of our time. One of the biggest perks was how close it is to Kualoa Ranch, which was a must-visit for us. We also explored Kaneohe Bay, where we found several solid restaurants, and even the local 7-Elevens surprised us with their amazing selection of Japanese ready-to-eat food—a fun and tasty discovery! We had such a great time that we’ve already started planning our return trip for next year. Liked it overall. Interesting location, in the middle of a residential area but right on Kaneohe Bay and they have a boat exclusive to the hotel guests that you can pay to go snorkling at the reef and walking on the sandbar and swim with the sea turtles (well worth it). Also cool that you can use the hotels kayaks to paddle around the area. Really cool pontoons next to the estuary to have an afternoon drink and/or snack (also good they have BBQ's to cook your own meals). The stairs/driveway are pretty steep, a ramp would be better. The rooms aren't too bad - a little tired in some ways but you don't spend a lot of time there anyway with a pool and other activities to do. I deliberately chose to stay away from Honolulu/Waikiki on this trip and I think it was the right choice - much quieter than the tourist madness of that area, though still accessible via Uber. I would consider staying here again and had a good week.

Beautiful piece of paradise not to far out. If you are looking to relax and feel like you are on vacation this is the place. Away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, yet there are restaurants and grocery stores in the area. You will need a car to get here and to shopping. We went kayaking in the bay and saw so many turtles and they were huge.

It’s somewhat private in a rather remote location, & hard to navigate along very narrow streets. I would never have found it if not for GPS. Parking is extraordinarily limited & challenging, & the driveway is at about a 90 degree slope! I had to get out of the car to look, because it looks like you’re about to drive off a cliff! Otherwise pleasant & quiet.

Loved the hotel. More like ‘real Hawaii’ than the big high rises. The hotel is a bit dated but we would stay here again. We were disappointed that there was no restaurant facilities on premises, but the kitchen was well equipped for our needs after finding the grocery store.

The grounds, yoga, and view from the room were spectacular! Don’t let the suburban neighborhood turn you away. It was clear that the staff worked hard to provide clean rooms, despite the older and well used buildings and rooms. The lack of food services make this resort feel a little more like a Vrbo than a hotel, but the staff was very helpful about recommending restaurants. Would definitely stay again for the room and to try their water amenities. Be sure to book kayak or SUPs well in advance of your stay (included in the resort fee), you will definitely want to get out on the bay!

I stayed there just 1 night. There is no breakfast or restaurant service. The restroom is a little old style and they charged me a resort fee of USD 42,00 which I did not see previous information to book and in fact, it is not a resort! The Mountain View is wonderful and location is a little far from restaurants and other things to do.

We loved the quiet and serene location of the hotel, away from the busy Waikiki. We would stay here again and again. My only negative is you can hear the other rooms well, so just bring a sound machine. It would be nice to have a bar or restaurant but food isn’t far away.

If you are looking for a resort experience this is not the place for you. This is a place to feel like family. I would say it is like a bed and breakfast. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are roosters and cats and sealife all around. The pool was clean and hot tub worked. This is like staying in someone’s home. The parking was small. The banana bread every morning was amazing. You will get an aloha experience far from the crazy city. We really enjoyed the views of the bay and the deck. The beds are very soft!

It was a really beautiful place to stay and compared to Waikiki you really felt the privacy. However they no longer offer food and their website says temporarily suspended which is not true. They will never bring dining back as they have remodeled the kitchen into a lobby. Wish they would have just been upfront about that as I was hopeful that by booking many months in advance, the whole due to Covid excuse would have run dry and they would have resumed food services. Aside from that I was very pleased.

Live music 4pm to 7pm monday to friday is fantastic. Banana bread for breakfast is good but not for every single day. Parking is tight and it should be free ($18 plus tax daily). The resort is situated in a residential area surrounded by tropical forest and plants, beautiful and quiet. It's only 30 minutes drive to anywhere, North Shore, Lanikai, Waikiki etc, conveniently located. There's no restaurant at the hotel, you need to cook your own meal or drive. Overall it's a nice, quiet and relaxing place to stay.

We arrived around 11 PM and understood that there was only one staff member working. The staff wasn’t super friendly. When we got to our room, it smelled like urine everywhere. The place is old and muggy, although we understand it’s near the beach. Breakfast was decent—banana bread, coffee, and tea. We also had to pay over $29 daily for parking and over $49 for the resort fee. Honestly, we could have chosen a place in the city area, about 15–25 minutes away, for a lower price. We decided to book this one because it was closer to the place we were supposed to go.
We arrived around 11 PM and understood that there was only one staff member working. The staff wasn’t super friendly. When we got to our room, it smelled like urine everywhere. The place is old and muggy, although we understand it’s near the beach. Breakfast was decent—banana bread, coffee, and tea. I know there was flooding earlier in the season that may have accounted for our buckled, peeling and rotting floors, and doors that were falling apart, but it wasn’t what I was expecting without notice and the option to cancel. Staff responded quickly when asked to clean the dirty cabinets and repair the jammed closet door and staples that were sticking out of the bedroom door. Our biggest disappointment was the air conditioning. The photos clearly show an AC in each bedroom, but our unit had only one noisy, old unit in the living room which necessitated leaving bedroom doors open (awkward when traveling as two couples) and never cooled the bedrooms well enough to be comfortable. Kitchen was convenient, banana bread at breakfast was yummy, beds were comfortable and staff were friendly. Just don’t be surprised if your room is much older and more poorly maintained than the photos.

First night arriving we had an issue in the room we were assigned, it was brought up to the front desk. The original room had to be shut down and they were wonderful in giving us a different room which turned out to be better than expected. It was our first time in Hawaii and the room upgrade made our experience on the island so much better. Thank you to the staff especially Marissa for the wonderful experience at the resort.
