I often use this hotel when away with my work, on this occasion I was with my partner. Check in went smoothly as usual, we were allocated one of the new balcony rooms overlooking the spectacular Falls of Lora. The room has all the essentials that you may require with a good sized en-suite. We had a couple of beers outside in the sun as we took in the view, it’s right next to the road but the scenery more than makes up for it. Dinner was inside the bar, the food was excellent as always and we had a very reasonably priced bottle of wine to go with it from the small wine list that has most varietals so all tastes should be covered. Back to the room to watch the sunset over the bay. We both slept like logs on the comfy bed, not much in the way of road noise during the night.The only gripe is the emergency light that is in the room, it’s illuminated all night, not sure if that’s a new legal requirement. We both opted for the full Scottish breakfast in the morning which set us up for the day ahead. The staff and owners always provide an excellent service here and I will keep on coming back to this hotel.

We stayed for a night on the way to Mull. Amazing view from the restaurant, and we were able to sit outside with a glass of wine to enjoy it as the sun was shining. Food was delicious, and the staff were friendly and really helpful. They are clearly in the middle of refurbishment, but there was no disruption and I'm sure it will look great once completed. So happy we decided to stay here than in Oban - much better value, and a lovely evening all round.

It’s nothing fancy but very clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. It’s only about a 20 minute drive from Oban. The restaurant attached to the hotel is very good - food was delicious - recommend you make a reservation for dinner. They do have a restaurant but we much preferred the atmosphere in the pub.

A nice hotel adjacent to the main road by Connell Bridge. We had room 8, which was a sea view room without a balcony. The room was very nice. All was very clean and looked new. The shower was excellent. A negative point is that the sun shines into the hotel all afternoon, so our room was extremely hot. The single window opens about 3 inches only. They provide a small fan but this is very ineffective. They should shut the blinds before guests arrive in sunny weather. We arrived about 5pm. Car park is around the back of the hotel so you have to wheel your cases over the gravel car park, around the side and into the front of the hotel facing the sea. This proved to be quite tricky. There was no one at reception and we had to wait about 5 minutes for someone to arrive. We had our evening meal in the bar, which was nicely decorated. Wife had fish and chips and I had chicken curry. The meals were below average. Her fish was mostly batter, which was very hard and crisp, had very little fish in it - see photo - and the chips were hard. My curry was OK as a meal, but it was completely devoid of ANY curry flavouring! We also had cooked breakfast the next morning, which was average. However, the view both from the hotel and from our room out over the sea was absolutely wonderful, especially the sunset.

My wife and I stayed for one night at The Oyster Inn and thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms are quite small but are spotlessly clean, the bed's comfortable and the walk in showers are a decent size and the views overlooking the loch are spectacular. Our highlights however was the genuine friendliness of all the staff and the food was incredible...all at a reasonable price. We'll definitely stay there again if we're in the area!

Would definitely recommend! Set in a stunning location, the view from the room was out of this world! Room was clean and tidy, bathroom was spotless and finished to a high standard and the bed was comfortable. Staff were all super friendly and accommodating, dinner was stunning and bar was very reasonably priced. Breakfast in the morning was good too, wide choice of hot and cold breakfast items and an array of fruit juice, teas and coffees. If you are looking for somewhere to base yourself whilst you explore the area, I would highly recommend the Oyster Inn to all - especially those with (well behaved) dogs!

Stayed here before in june and was impressed by everything. This time there has definitely been a standard drop in places...starting with the room room itself was clean and presentable but lots of marks on the wall...again with the bathroom it was clean but shower was showing signs of mould and the shower pipe was split causing spray and loss of pressure, there was an unpleasant smell in the stairwell to the rooms and the carpet was dirty,

What a stunning location , looking over water and mountains , the staff was very friendly , food was exceptional , the room was spacious with clean comfortable bed , excellent shower , really would of liked if we could of had a room at the front overlooking the bay , but we had dogs , and only rooms available for dogs was at the rear , but all in all an excellent place for our holiday , many thanks Jeff and Toni

After I had a slight mishap with my booking the staff went the extra mile to accommodate us. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and the breakfast had so much choice.

Friendly staff, efficient service. Room was big enough for 3 people. Huge bathroom but the sink was way too small. It was impossible to wash up without wetting the floor. Beds were a little soft but still able to sleep well for the night.

The place is okay. The price is a bit expensive compared to the room I got. It seems old and there is a lot of noise from the neighboring rooms next door and above. The room faced away from the sea, and the ventilation from the kitchen came up outside the window. It is clean, neat and has a nice bathroom that seems new.

Hotel was very nice and staff were very friendly but there was a few things that could have been improved on, our room had holes in the walls, missing light bulb from bed side lamp, missing remote control for the TV and almost no interet in room

Bedroom was tiny and below car park level. Noisy extractor from kitchen. Booked an economy dog room so didn't expect much. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was terrible however. Sounded good on menu but bacon only half cooked and most items were barely warm, not helped by serving on a cold plate. My husbands's scrambled egg was bright orange! Reconstituted egg?? Will not stay again

We had an unexpected trip change and needed a place for 1 night. Room 19 is terrible. The beds need to be replaced, you can hear everything outside, washroom is very tiny and no wifi. The restaurant on the other hands is very good and the staff are amazing. Recommend the restaurant but don’t stay in the rooms out back especially 19.

The shower was excellent. A negative point is that the sun shines into the hotel all afternoon, so our room was extremely hot. The single window opens about 3 inches only. They provide a small fan but this is very ineffective. They should shut the blinds before guests arrive in sunny weather. We arrived about 5pm. Car park is around the back of the hotel so you have to wheel your cases over the gravel car park, around the side and into the front of the hotel facing the sea. This proved to be quite tricky. There was no one at reception and we had to wait about 5 minutes for someone to arrive. We had our evening meal in the bar, which was nicely decorated. Wife had fish and chips and I had chicken curry. The meals were below average. Her fish was mostly batter, which was very hard and crisp, had very little fish in it - see photo - and the chips were hard. My curry was OK as a meal, but it was completely devoid of ANY curry flavouring! We also had cooked breakfast the next morning, which was average. However, the view both from the hotel and from our room out over the sea was absolutely wonderful, especially the sunset.

Would definitely recommend! Set in a stunning location, the view from the room was out of this world! Room was clean and tidy, bathroom was spotless and finished to a high standard and the bed was comfortable. Staff were all super friendly and accommodating, dinner was stunning and bar was very reasonably priced. Breakfast in the morning was good too, wide choice of hot and cold breakfast items and an array of fruit juice, teas and coffees. If you are looking for somewhere to base yourself whilst you explore the area, I would highly recommend the Oyster Inn to all - especially those with (well behaved) dogs!

New rooms are small but fresh with great views and the bed was comfortable The inly issue was that one of the waitresses had a serious attitude at dinner time. Management also needs to train new staff before allowing them to take orders - the young bloke had no idea about drinks etc. Took 3 of them to get the wine order right At breakfast i asked for a decaf coffee, only to be told by the same waitress that they dont do decaf at breakfast!! What a joke

Told I could charge to room then when I ate I couldn’t after first night. Charged my card twice and could not give different invoices for each charge. Not good for businesses. Telling me they could not charge to the room when they obviously could was not a good look either. Annoyed that much I ate somewhere else 2nd night.

Peter was the absolute best! After a nightmare of a flight that went from a 1 hour layover to 9 hours, we arrived late to The Oyster Inn. Peter was so kind. He saved us some food from dinner, that ended at 8 (we got there at 9). It was excellent! I also received the largest pour of white wine I have ever received. Slept incredibly well. Turned out entire vacation around! Thank you Peter, and your wonderful kitchen staff!!

After I had a slight mishap with my booking the staff went the extra mile to accommodate us. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and the breakfast had so much choice.

The Oyster Inn was a quick stop in Oban for us, and was very convenient on our way to the highlands. The staff were very friendly. The inn is in Connel, just outside of Oban, and is more of a residential area so there’s not much to do if you’re planning on staying longer.

This would have received a five star because the room we stayed in had a beautiful view and was very comfortable but the breakfast was horrendous. It was truly awful to eat breakfast here, cold toast and coffee with rinds in the French press. Bacon dry like it had been under a heater and my wife’s eggs Benedict had prosciutto ham on it which was honestly cold and disgusting.

My wife and I stayed for one night at The Oyster Inn and thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms are quite small but are spotlessly clean, the bed's comfortable and the walk in showers are a decent size and the views overlooking the loch are spectacular. Our highlights however was the genuine friendliness of all the staff and the food was incredible...all at a reasonable price. We'll definitely stay there again if we're in the area!

Really nice room with the nicest bathroom we have had on our trips to Scotland. The staff was really nice and made sure we felt welcome. Eating at the Inn was great. Great food, massive portions and lots of both locals and other guests.

The accommodations were solid (not fancy/plush). That said, the restaurant and the oysters were incredible. And the hotel was just far enough from Edinburgh while on our way to Skye that we made the distance needed not a mile further on day one of driving on the left side of the road.

Room was okay, nice view. Lacked any information regarding WiFi password, time of breakfast etc. No means of communication with reception e.g. phone. Breakfast was warm but not hot. Crockery we were given was chipped in several places. Overall the stay was okay but could have been better in our opinion.

Dock ligger hotellet en bit ifrån Oban, men har en restaurang som var bra, om än lite långsam service. 160 cm sängarna, som på alla boende, är egentligen för små för två vuxna svenskar, men denna var också för mjuk så man flög högt varje gång den andra rörde sig. Dessutom ganska oisolerat, stördes lite av ljud.

Firstly I chose to pay at hotel. When I got there they had already processed payment on my card saying Expedia did it. ive been using hotels..com for years and never had this happen before! The room was described as a luxury quadruple room. there was nothing luxurious about it. The bathroom didn’t even have a surface to place a tooth brush let alone 3 wash bags. It was an accessible bathroom and the shower chair, bottom of shower curtain and bottom of wall were all discoloured. The toilet seat was coming off and the sink was tiny….smallest sink I’ve ever seen! The only thing we could view in the mirror were our belly buttons! I think it’s great to have an accessible bathroom but it was totally unsuitable for us. The room had a little alcove off it where the double couch bed was….and tv and coffee making. The lights were not working. You’d bang your head off the tv trying to make coffee. There were narrow shelves by the 2 single beds instead of lockers. There was only one light switch to turn on the lights and that was not my the door but on the opposite wall. It gave the feeling of hostel, with the price tag of a 4star hotel. The dinner was nice, but for the seafood capital of Scotland they only had fish and chips or mussels as seafood main courses. That was disappointing. Thebreakfast…Again hostel like….a few packet cereals, fruit yogurts and packet pastries. The fried breakfast was nice but served without toast.
