We really enjoyed Hotel San Jose. The property is very retro with a cool vibe. It feels very secluded but is right in the middle of South Congress. There are tons of restaurants and shops with walking distance. There was plenty of on site parking without the valet hassle. We had a pool day and there was a bar service there. The let us bring our dog and even had a bed and food and water bowls waiting in the room for her! Would love to stay again!

Sounds silly to mention but if you have ever been to Austin or any big city parking is a beast. Not so at Hotel San Jose with its on site easy in parking lot. After parking the pivot door directing you to the cool vibe lobby sets the tone for your stay along with a cheerful personable perfectly off beat staff. Sheets are soft to touch, beds strike the perfect balance of firm and give and the high polished concrete floors are delightfully cool under foot on a hot texas summer day. Stay hack: be sure to arrive in time to enjoy happy hour on the courtyard. To nibble and Bev under gracious oaks with quiet hum of nearby parties chatting is a delightful way to start your visit or evening before heading out Congress street. Hotel San Jose is ideally located for those looking for the non tourist standard Austin experience. Zilker park and evening bat flights are nearby as well as great eats, dive bars and unexpected shopping. Hotel San Jose is my go to whenever I am in Austin.

Everything was great! Our band played across the street & it was super handy. The only thing was due to a festival the parking lot was closed & we had to park down the street at the austin hotel. That was not super handy. Other than that it was great.

Sweet courtyards with a Saturday brunch with live music as well as bar service daily. Breakfast is also available for room service only. Stayed three nights for a wedding and was treated like royalty. On site parking is available for a small fee.

The room was very basic for the price and most of the TV channel would not work. Also when I booked the room it was described as a superior room with multiple views, we had one window that was covered in vines that couldn't be seen through. The area was nice and there was plenty of things within walking distance. Parking at the hotel is not included and is an additional charge per night i believe.

perfect Austin vibes at Hotel San Jose; the property has been around for decades and was originally a motor court but has been enclosed--we loved the historic yet modern feel. The location on South Congress had great walkability; they had great coffee available in the lobby and we enjoyed sitting around the small pool in the afternoon

The San Jose Hotel is in a convenient area of town, with free parking and stylish vintage decor. Staff are very welcoming, and the full bar with an outdoor poolside lounge is really nice for relaxing with a friend or group.There's also a cute outdoor coffee shop on the property, but I didn't have the opportunity to use it (closed the evening before Thanksgiving). Basic rooms are pretty small, but overall designed efficiently and fit the theme. Hotels with character are my preference over big corporate chains, and I'd stay here again when visiting Austin.

Hotels.com offered at $43 credit for food, the hotel left us a bowl of popcorn, out of the bag and on a random side table. Disgusting. The hotel also stored their dirty linen outside of our room ALL DAY AND NIGHT.

Room was spotless. Staff was courteous. What stood out- the grounds are gorgeous. They left water in a cute carafe and nuts on coffee table after cleaning. What didn’t stand out- hot water in shower only lasted 2 minutes or so. But that’s okay, gave me enough time to wash my body.

This hotel is located in a great area — walking distance from downtown, a lot of shops, restaurants, etc, so you won’t run out of things to do. The rooms were spotless, homey and spacious. There is also a pool and a bar w indoor/outdoor seating which was great. The staff were also absolutely accommodating and welcoming and just some of the nicest people. It’s a true reflection of the entire management of this hotel.

We loved this hotel! A very unique vibe and fun place to stay! The location was fantastic. The only downside is that our bathroom wasn't cleaned very well. Everything else was wonderful.

LOVED this hotel. Very cute and just a far step above your standard experience. Very comfortable bed and bedding, easy coffee and restaurants. Plenty of privacy and sweet spaces to do some work. Traveling alone and felt very comfortable here.

Beautiful space! The room and property. The front room to the road is very loud. I tried to shower twice during our stay and there was no hot water. Like not even 2 minutes worth. That was disappointing. The location is great

We came to Austin for a quick girls weekend and really enjoyed our stay at Hotel San Jose. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The vibe overall was great. We loved the design and decor of the property and our room. The beds were comfy, we liked the linens, and the robes were so cute. We also appreciated the ceiling fan in our room. We enjoyed the location and close proximity to a lot of restaurants and shopping, and it was fairly walkable (we’re all city girls and are up for a decent walk to get places) to different attractions. The street in front of the hotel is pretty busy, but our room was at the back of the property and very quiet. It was pretty hot and humid during our stay, so the pool was a perfect way to cool off in the afternoons. It was also just a great area to lounge outside of your room. The courtyard bar area seemed to be a hangout for both guests and folks not staying at the hotel, so it was lively (in a good way). They also had breakfast tacos on Saturday morning that were delicious. There is a coffee shop nextdoor that is affiliated with the hotel, so that was great for a quick drink/bite in the morning.

At the recommendation of a local friend, I booked Hotel San Jose. It was priced on the high end but I liked the eclectic vibe and interesting rooms. We had concrete floors, a covered patio area we shared with a couple other rooms and it felt very boho chic and residential. The neighborhood was great and walkable. The furnishings were minimalist but functional. They didn't have an in-room coffee maker which made my friend nuts, nor did they have a mirror outside the bathroom. The two big issues for us were as follows: My friend ordered a house bourbon double from a waiter, after being told they didn't have Jim Bean and asking for the house, she was charged $40 dollars which she didn't notice until later, the receipt said the name of a high-end bourbon so it wasn't rectified. The next day when she told the story to the waitress she got some relief and the The big thing though was the air conditioning. We were in Texas in May. The AC setting didn't go below 72 which for an environmentally conscious place is fine, but the reality was that the air coming out at night was NOT cold at all. In the morning it became cold which led me to believe there was a mistaken or intentional setting internally since at no time did the thermostat show anything but 72 degrees. To be fair, I talked to the manager at checkout and she was going to see if anything could be done and I will see what happens.

The AC setting didn't go below 72 which for an environmentally conscious place is fine, but the reality was that the air coming out at night was NOT cold at all. In the morning it became cold which led me to believe there was a mistaken or intentional setting internally since at no time did the thermostat show anything but 72 degrees. To be fair, I talked to the manager at checkout and she was going to see if anything could be done and I will see what happens.

Great hotel in a great location. The only drawback is the noise from the road. It is VERY loud at night if you have a rooms near South Congress. The traffic noise kept us up.

Staff are very welcoming, and the full bar with an outdoor poolside lounge is really nice for relaxing with a friend or group.There's also a cute outdoor coffee shop on the property, but I didn't have the opportunity to use it (closed the evening before Thanksgiving). Room was spotless. Staff was courteous. What stood out- the grounds are gorgeous. They left water in a cute carafe and nuts on coffee table after cleaning. What didn’t stand out- hot water in shower only lasted 2 minutes or so. But that’s okay, gave me enough time to wash my body.

After parking the pivot door directing you to the cool vibe lobby sets the tone for your stay along with a cheerful personable perfectly off beat staff. This hotel is located in a great area — walking distance from downtown, a lot of shops, restaurants, etc, so you won’t run out of things to do. The rooms were spotless, homey and spacious. There is also a pool and a bar w indoor/outdoor seating which was great. The staff were also absolutely accommodating and welcoming and just some of the nicest people. It’s a true reflection of the entire management of this hotel.

We came to Austin for a quick girls weekend and really enjoyed our stay at Hotel San Jose. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The vibe overall was great. We loved the design and decor of the property and our room. The beds were comfy, we liked the linens, and the robes were so cute. We also appreciated the ceiling fan in our room. We enjoyed the location and close proximity to a lot of restaurants and shopping, and it was fairly walkable (we’re all city girls and are up for a decent walk to get places) to different attractions. The street in front of the hotel is pretty busy, but our room was at the back of the property and very quiet. It was pretty hot and humid during our stay, so the pool was a perfect way to cool off in the afternoons. It was also just a great area to lounge outside of your room. The courtyard bar area seemed to be a hangout for both guests and folks not staying at the hotel, so it was lively (in a good way). They also had breakfast tacos on Saturday morning that were delicious. There is a coffee shop nextdoor that is affiliated with the hotel, so that was great for a quick drink/bite in the morning.

There are tons of restaurants and shops with walking distance. There was plenty of on site parking without the valet hassle. We had a pool day and there was a bar service there. The let us bring our dog and even had a bed and food and water bowls waiting in the room for her! Would love to stay again!

Sweet courtyards with a Saturday brunch with live music as well as bar service daily. Breakfast is also available for room service only. Stayed three nights for a wedding and was treated like royalty. On site parking is available for a small fee.

At the recommendation of a local friend, I booked Hotel San Jose. It was priced on the high end but I liked the eclectic vibe and interesting rooms. We had concrete floors, a covered patio area we shared with a couple other rooms and it felt very boho chic and residential. The neighborhood was great and walkable. The furnishings were minimalist but functional. They didn't have an in-room coffee maker which made my friend nuts, nor did they have a mirror outside the bathroom. The two big issues for us were as follows: My friend ordered a house bourbon double from a waiter, after being told they didn't have Jim Bean and asking for the house, she was charged $40 dollars which she didn't notice until later, the receipt said the name of a high-end bourbon so it wasn't rectified. Check in was very easy and we were showed to our room. The property is beautiful and has greenery everywhere. It almost feels tropical. The room is a little outdated, but it also goes along with the laidback feel of the property. I did have one complaint, and it was the mini fridge. It was super loud in the middle of the night. Beds were comfortable and room was very clean. The pool and poolside seating area is beautiful too. The pool is also warmed. There is a seating area with misting fans that you are able to sit at and relax. We loved our stay here and how close it was to all the shopping and restaurants on South Congress. The whole area felt very safe.

Beds were comfortable and room was very clean. The pool and poolside seating area is beautiful too. The pool is also warmed. There is a seating area with misting fans that you are able to sit at and relax. We loved our stay here and how close it was to all the shopping and restaurants on South Congress. The whole area felt very safe.

The courtyard, walkways, lighting and lush landscaping on this property are absolutely gorgeous. So peaceful. We walked from the hotel down to the bridge to watch the bats.

Great location on South Congress in Austin. Everything is in walking distance. Huge plus that they have on property parking. Hotel is unique and well maintained. Staff was excellent. This will now be the only place I stay while visiting my son in Austin.
