Solid budget choice; staff very friendly and helpful; things are worn around the edges; most rooms are upstairs and there is no elevator

The room was spacious and the king size bed comfortable. Everything was very clean, and bed linens comfortable. The gas fireplace was disappointing, very small flame, and it being Christmas weekend, would have been nice to have a cozy fire, though the heater in the room was fine. The clothes hanging rod had been removed and not replaced, for some reason, so had nowhere to hang coats, etc. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We have stayed here multiple times on trips to Oak Harbor and it is still our favorite. Only complaint is that more attention needs to be paid to maintenance.

I've been wanting to stay at this cute Holland inspired Inn, for years. The Auld Holland Inn is located as soon as you enter Oak Harbor. The charming look is what got me. The windmill, the wooden tulips in the windows, as well as the location are all amazing. The customer service from check-in to check-out was very friendly and so easy. The parking was great as well, we were able to park directly in front of our room. I cant wait for our next stay, maybe in one of the cabins in back.

Very kitschy, but it is so warm and welcoming in the main office area, only helped by the woman who checked me in. She was fantastic and went over the rules and things to know. She also let me know house keeping was available if I needed it at any point during the stay. We opted to eat at the mill restaurant just on the other side of the parking lot and it’s also some amazing food with decor just like the hotel. The room was nice. The bathroom had been updated and everything was clean. They put extra coffee pods in the basket. The beds are not attached to the wall, so they roll a little bit for those that toss and turn in the night. Overall, a pleasant stay and more affordable than any other hotel in oak harbor during the holiday.

Very helpful staff, loved the jetted tub and cozy fireplace. Good location for Deception Pass activities. Some decor and furnishings outdated but otherwise kitchy and charming.

Very cute vintage property! Very clean room in the main building although a little small and no luggage rack provided. Property is on a hill away from the busy commercial end of town. Breakfast selection is small, no hot items and indoor seating is very limited. I appreciated their effort to space room assignments apart to minimize noise. They may want to correct their sign out front as there is no 'tennis court' that I could find.

Our toilet sounded like a fog horn and asked for it to be repaired. A simple $20 valve would have fixed it. They sent a maintenance person and left a tag on the door but did not fix it. So we had to live with the fog horn for a 2nd night. The room was dirty. Black hair stuck to the side of the shower wall. My wife's white socks got dirty just walking around in the room. There were scent dispensers in the room trying to cover something up making it smell very perfumey. No hot tub or pool. No elevator.

Mercy the afternoon front desk clerk was very kind and welcoming. The jetted tub was the best one ive been in. Very cute room.

Property was clean and staff pleasant. Room furniture somewhat dated or cheap. Wall heater/ac blows our curtains into the room. Our room fronts a busy street. There are nicer rooms and detached cabins. Our room was fine and priced reasonable for our needs. I would recommend.

Room was small but very clean. Physical key instead of a keycard. If you walked out of the room without your key then you automatically were locked out (which I accidentally did). There weren’t many 120V plug ins available. However, each bed had at least one available. Bathroom was small and the shower did not drain sufficiently, so that when you were finished with your shower you stood in soapy water. Make sure you get ice before 9:00 PM from the front desk because they will close and the inn does not have an ice machine. Many US Navy jets flying over on and after 8:00 AM so that was a wake up call.

We booked a suite and we were very disappointed to discover how old it was and not clean. We mentioned it at the checkout and we were ignored. I will not return.

Room had full refrig of old pork chops, and drinks. Then went into bathroom, dirty washcloth on floor. Coffee machine had an old pod left in it. Front desk young man was helpful getting a different room. But inconvient. Safe area. Quiet.

The staff is aggressively non-cooperative and unhelpful. The floors in my room were sticky and gross. Oak Harbor’s a great place. Don’t ruin your time there staying at this dump.

It was cute and old fashioned. The issues I noticed are that the hard floor made my socks turned black (dirty) even when I wore clean socks. The toilet holder needs to be replaced since it is rusty and loose. The faucets in the sink in the bathroom needs to be fixed, the beds wouldn’t stay still as it is on wheels. It needs improvement.

Room was quite small but the carpet was extremely dirty and had black spots all over the carpet. We had to keep our shoes on since it felt so dirty. Very disappointing.

I booked a Queen Suite which was listed as having as having a queen bed and then a couch pull out for my child to sleep in. However, we were put in a very dirty (visible dirt on the floor and counters) room with only a queen bed. We arrived late in the evening and there was no vacancy so we stayed in the room but it was inconvenient to smush all in one bed when I had been expecting two. The person who checked us in was very nice, as was the lady who was stocking the breakfast in the morning. Breakfast was simple continental but it was all clean and fresh so no complaints there.

While the staff was plesant, the hotel was not only extremely in need of an update, It was dirty and had a very unusual awful odor in the room. Very disappointed and would not recommend.

The room and bathroom were very run down. The bathroom door did not close, the tiles around the tub were a mess, the tub did not look clean and the toilet was very low to the ground with a high water level. Not pleasant to use.

The cabin was nice but its right under where the jets come down low and shake the whole cabin. Its one of the loudest spots on the island for jet noise and they didnt even warn us about it.

Poorly furnished room. Nothing attractive about the decor, lots of useless wood furniture needing refinishing, looked like it was being stored in the room Was told room would be updated "this winter". Looked like mold on the tile grout in the bathtub surround.Room was cold and there wasn't a heat source.

The pictures make it seem like it’s in a great area and so cute. That’s fake. It’s RIGHT on a highway, rooms are tiny, everything is old, filthy floors, your basically sleeping with semi trucks blazing past, you couldn’t get any closer to the highway

Who wouldn't want to stay in a hotel with a windmill?? Check-in was friendly and easy. Overall, the property is dated to say the least. I've stayed here before, 5 years ago and it was outdated then but suited our needs. There was dust moats hanging in the corners of the room and bathroom, a random mirrored desk in one random corner with no chair, one of the chairs they did have was broken (we fixed with our edc) and those were not queen beds! We have a queen and thay wasn't it. Also, the bed was so old and worn, there was absolutely no support and we felt like we were going to slide off.

WiFi was slow when it was working which is about 35% of the time. Cracked and broken floor tiles in front of the toilet, toilet paper dispenser falling off the wall. Appliances are from the 1950’s are paint is rusting and falling off. Cabinet shelf’s are missing mounts causing items to fall. Shower tiles are damn near falling off and had hair (not mine, I’m bald) in it. Included dishes were dirty.

Staff were very nice but this hotel needed a refurbish like two decades ago. The mattress was so beaten down the springs just kind of caved at the slightest pressure. The bathroom linoleum was really sticky but not I think from dirt -- rather it seemed like a coating from whatever really strong lemony cleanser they used. Given they were on the lower end of prices for the area, I was expecting no frills, but still. They are right by the island's main road, which has pros and cons. Didn't notice traffic noise at night but it started getting loud promptly at 6 am.

We expected a rustic but roomy cabin. We literally had to climb around the bed to reach the tiny bathroom. Poor air ventilation. No seating. Uncomfortable small bed. Never again.

Clean, but very dated property. Noise from the airplanes. Extension cords for the microwave, coffee maker and the fridge did not look very safe.

The only reason we were there was to sleep. Right at midnight someone in an adjacent room turned music on so loud we could hear every word. This continued until about 4am when they turned it down to an acceptable level. PLUS the room was freezing but the heater worked great EXCEPT every time it came on it sounded like a plane landing! Early a.m we shut off the heat, got about an hour's sleep, and couldn't get out of there quickly enough! We will not go back!

Stayed in cabin A for my birthday weekend with my boyfriend. We had a wonderful time. The cabin although cute and cozy, definitely could have been dusted/ swept more. The bathroom and bed were very clean though, that’s what matters to us. The bed is a beautiful old brass frame that does creak a little. We thought it was fitting and comfortable enough for the two nights. The man who checked us in was so polite. We got there very late, he was still willing to accommodate us. We are so thankful for his patience and flexibility. The next morning however, his wife was at the front desk. When I asked for new linens I was met with hostility. In a very rude tone she asked “Didn’t you just check in last night?” I reiterated I needed new sheets and towels, received a very loud exaggerated sigh/scoff paired with an eye roll but thankfully we got new ones sent to us. (I am a young woman, I think everyone can guess why I needed new bed sheets but I shouldn’t feel the need to explain that. There were multiple people in the lobby, I wasn’t about to announce aunt flow came early.) Additionally, the person who brought our linens left the door unlocked. We locked both locks before leaving but thankfully turned around to grab something. Over all the stay was very fun. The town is cute, locals are nice, sightseeing is jaw dropping. I would love to go back in the future. I’m hopeful the interaction was just a one off thing.

No one was at the front desk when I arrived. No one answered the number it said to call. After waiting a long while and calling twice, I started searching the hotel. Finally a guy showed up. I had requested a ground floor room. I was told after I arrived that none were available and they were full. The vacancy sign remains on and the parking area in front of the ground floor rooms is only half full. I was disappointed. The property itself is lovely with clean rooms. It is located under the air force flight path so it is very noisy when the planes are taking off.

The owner stayed up to provide us our room key and the room was nicely air-conditioned. The bed was great to sleep on and had a lovely night sleep.

Front desk was very nice and helpful. The area was clean as was the rooms.

We have never been to Oak harbor. We had a military funeral service to attend. We booked here and found we were close to the service. We called to ask if we could check in early to get ready. The hotel was wonderful to call us at noon to say our room was ready. When we arrived, Eric at the desk was awesome. He was polite and checked us in right away. We made it to the 1 pm service. For being an older hotel everything was clean, and beds were so comfortable. Property was nice with beautiful tulips. Breakfast was just perfect with grab n go. Thank you for our stay. We will return.

The management was excellent. We had some issues with our room need to change rooms and they upgraded our room to a suite with fireplace. Wonderful!

Lady was terrible at checking took her forever she didn't know what she was doing. The room there is no coffee pot for the morning the TV didn't work and when I complained about it and they didn't do anything about it. That room should not have been rented. Expedia should rate this hotel at about a 5

It took us a while to get the heating unit adjusted (room was extremely cold when we entered) to our satisfaction but once adjusyed it was very comfortable. We stayed for 5 nights and the room was fine for our needs, beds comfortable, nice fridge, TV, microwave and a keurig! We had plenty of hot water and continental breakfast was nice. Staff was very friendly and helful.

We've stayed twice in the past 3 months. Really neat history of the family run motel.

Our room was clean but very basic. We were just there for one night and it was budget friendly. Be ready for the "sound of freedom" during daylight hours from the nearby Navel Air Station.

Sidt like that it qas beside the main road, but tbh it wasnt an issue for noise as we were in the rooms on the backside.

I will give this hotel one thumbs up for its service and friendliness. Everybody in the staff was approachable and very down to earth. It also gets a thumbs up for some of its charm with the Dutch themed paintings and figurines. However, everything else almost negated it completely. This hotel is very outdated. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. And it was noisy because it sets next to a very busy highway.

It’s such a cute place to pull upto after a long day of steering. Friendly and upbeat personnel checked us in and made sure we knew everything we needed to know. Beds were comfortable. Sink was a pedestal so no countertop space but the bathroom had everything else we needed. The included Breakfast was good and have several offerings.

This property needs to be renovated and the price was too high for what they offered. The breakfasts included was very limited and I wouldn't recommend eating there. I have to say that the staff members were very kind and professional but I won't be coming back.

Could be a lot better with some simple upkeep. Caulking in bathroom was either dirty or moldy. Some of the continental breakfast tasted stale. Heater was either on or off, was not automated.On the other hand the bed was comfortable and the sheets and towels were clean .

The only complaint was that I don't think the bathtub had been cleaned well - there were some hairs in it that were not ours. Also, it would have been nice if the continental breakfast had offered some real juice - but that's a relatively minor issue. It was just a bit odd washing down my morning vitamins with Capri Sun instead of orange juice.
