This was a well-maintained, affordable, wee-designed hotel. Like most hotels in Davis, you can hear train horns and you'll see street people, but we felt safe and enjoyed the wide selection of restaurants in this great college town. We also charged our EV for free on its level 2 charger, which lucky fir us was idle.

We chose this property for the pool which was closed without notification before arriving. Nothing on the website and no mention of a refund. Room was cluttered with furniture that was too large for the space making it virtually impossible to move about the room with 2 adults and a child. There were hairs on the floor of the bathroom. Pillows were subpar- lumpy. TV was not properly hooked up so we had yo get someone on to fix that. A lot of dead bugs at the bottom of the windows. Sprinklers were on for so long it was difficult to navigate to/from our room.

Coffee maker broken no one told me There’s a separate switch for AC in bedroom separate from living room space. Pool close too early. Bathroom smells like it was cleaned with a dirty rags. Otherwise it’s was a ok stay.

I thought the motel was pretty nice for a motel. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable but the hotel maintenance and stated available amenities were lacking. Free use of bikes would have been great, but they were not available due to tire maintenance. Pool looked like it could be nice, but was always covered with a layer of tree pollen and leaves. Pretty arbors covered with vines along pathways were nice, except for the creeping vines extending inside the walkway blocking the path along the way---all of these showed a lack of overall maintenance. Even the receptionist kept stating that she hadn't seen or heard from maintenance each time I asked about the bikes. Additionally, the backside of the motel where our rooms faced was a mostly empty parking lot with storage containers and piles of debris so it felt a bit abandoned. Finally, getting in and out of the hotel is tricky as it's right off the freeway but you can't easily turn in or out of the main driveway. To go into town you must exit through a back locked gate (which does not open for pedestrians---another problem we encountered). It was close to downtown and the bike trail so if the bikes are available, that would be great. Apparently they used to also serve breakfast before Covid so if they brought that back again it would also be nice. Coffee was available and parking was free so both of these were nice conveniences. If the bikes were available I might stay there again.

Towels were not clean, we requested more towels and they were not clean either. There was a dead bee in the tub, stains on the walls, broken molding, and stains on the pillows. Room was clearly not cleaned. We asked to check in earlier since we arrived in town around 11AM and their checkin is 3PM they were rude about their answer they could have just said no.

I was spending time with family, I checked in earlier around 915pm and just came back around 12: A.m. there are so many, flying bugs in here, they continuously keep attacking me, there’s got to be hundreds of them. These bugs have taken over my food in my beverage, They are continuously running around my face, biting me they’re all my clothing, all over my body all over the floor all over the walls, bedding couches, just everywhere The smell in this room is MUSTy! there’s mold in the shower and there’s rust inside of the tub where the whirlpool chess are and there’s also gnats flying in and out of the bathtub jets area I freaked out. I paid $400 for this room, I expected something very nice and clean, I never get to have any kind of night to myself away from life, this was my night to tonight to have a good night out and this is what I get. This is not good business. I am not happy, I would like a complete refund.

This is a beautifully updated hotel. I loved my room. It was very large. It had a very comfortable bed. It had a big bathroom with a giant shower and a Jacuzzi tub. There was a big balcony with comfy chairs. All good.

Nice facility, clean, well kept grounds, easy walking to many restaurants and other sites. We walked to a concert at the UC Davis Mondavi Center. Many bicycles! Only negatives were Dutch Bros next door started their thumping music a bit earlier and louder than I like. Other rooms might not have been so affected. Wi-Fi at motel was erratic. I called office 3 times in 2 days to ask them to reset. Cost seemed a little high. Overall, however, we enjoyed our two-night stay very much.

The bed was actually comfortable, and we had plenty of room to spread out in our room. More train noise than I would have expected, so if you are sensitive to noise at night, could be an issue. But I had a good nights sleep every night, despite having to share a king bed with 2 kids.

The pool and surrounding lounge areas were awesome. Beds were comfortable and bedding was nice. Shower leaked, which we reported to maintenance. Air conditioner was noisy but worked. Recommend updating your laundry appliances.

Problem with door lock. Took about 30 minutes to get into room with multiple trips back to front desk. Then couldn’t leave without someone staying in the room. I would have appreciated some sort of credit for the trouble

The rooms were comfortable and spacious, recently renovated too. Nicely landscaped property that gave us a relaxing feel. It is close to the freeway but it was not noisy at all. Short walking distance to downtown Davis and the arboretum. Will be back again

We really like the hotel a lot and have stayed there multiple times when visiting UC Davis. This time was a bit different since the room we had was backed up to Dutch Bros. And there was quite a bit of activity, including being woken up by a gardeners leaf blower early Saturday morning. The early trains are an issue, but you get used to them. The person at the front office did overcharge our card and it took too much work to rectify what should have been easy to do in the first place, but management fixed it and all is good!

actually, I had not stay that hotel. because last minute hotel called me left message said, "it was a third-party website and unfortunately , they do not transfer over to our hotel system. so finally the hotel staff was cancel my reservationed." came up I can't book any hotel in the last minute yesterday. anyway, I felt it was frustrated and un-happy with that situation . I really don't know whom the mistake for that matter. this is happened to me a first time and be last, too. I decide not to use this website no more. because I will worry maybe happen it again like this time. also, I put a black list for that hotel. never book this hotel in the future ,too. zero stars for this place. zero zero. that it. done.

I loved it. Quiet & parking is accessible on the end of my room. Room is clean. I forgot my shoes in the room & called them, they were very helpful. I’d stay here again.

They did improved the room I reserved. I spent one night without the needed sleep accommodations. They did not want to refund that night. I also left two nights early and they charged me the whole week. I will never stay here again.

the location is both good and bad. Good side is it's close to UC Davis, bad side is some building is right next to I80. The room I got was the end unit of that building, right next to I80. I didn't even enter and went back directly to front desk asking for change.

This is an older but well-maintained motel in a mostly quiet part of Davis. Wooded, park-like. Unpleasant part: the grounds crew spent a very long time with their leaf-blower(s) brrrraaapping loudly the whole time. Would be quieter, I presume, were it not Autumn! There is a drive-thru coffee shop, a gas station with convenience store, and an I&O burger joint in the intersection. Just a 0.1 mile stroll across the RR tracks, you're in downtown Davis. Total college town, lots of stores, and good restaurants open late. Very safe place. Each time we are here, we wish we'd stayed longer! Problems. 1) We arrived early and the desk clerk did not think we had a reservation. It was confusing because there were two similar motels with "University" in the name. Eventually resolved. 2) No fault of the motel but its location is significantly challenged. The site is at the freeway cloverleaf and if you miss the entrance-- you're headed for Oakland! On exiting the motel, it is a right-turn-only and you have to not only be alert to avoiding the on-ramp, but you must (legally) drive over the freeway and make a U-turn if you're driving to downtown Davis. We intended to spend a morning exploring it, but blew it off and went right, on to Vacaville.

The room is wonderful - spacious and comfy. The bed is super comfortable. You can walk into downtown quickly. It is on a busy street, but only 2 lanes.

The rooms were comfortable and spacious, recently renovated too. Nicely landscaped property that gave us a relaxing feel. It is close to the freeway but it was not noisy at all. Short walking distance to downtown Davis and the arboretum. Will be back again

We very much enjoyed our stay! The property was clean and so was the room. Our CSR at checkin was very friendly. The property itself was nice and quiet and it genuinely seems like they put effort into providing a good experience to their guests. A potential con, which is completely out of their control, is that there was a nearby train that went by several times. Two sets of complimentary disposable ear plugs were in our room upon arrival, which I assume were to lessen the noise of the train, but the noise truly did not bother us and it did not go by after 9pm or before 8am so it did not disturb our sleep at all. This property is located right off the freeway which is very convenient. We didn’t get to use the pool or jacuzzi but the area also looked clean and like it would have been very relaxing had weather permitted. It is right near a Dutch bros which we were incredibly thankful for, as we did not have to drive around town to find a good cup of coffee. It’s also only a six or so minute drive from UC Davis campus. They are right across the street from an In n Out if you wanted to walk to grab a quick bite or if you don’t mind driving an few minutes there are several really great restaurants nearby as well. I booked here by mistake initially but it turned out to be great! We will definitely be staying again.

The trains all night made sleeping difficult. All of the coffee and tea was empty at 930 when our group met for coffee in the lobby and it took 30 minutes to get more. This was on a Sunday morning.

Im sorry to have to rate this hotel low. I really wanted to love it specifically because of the price. First of all no breakfast, only coffee and tea. The coffee was cold and terrible. 2nd. I booked a room with a king bed and a sofa bed which had rat poop everywhere so my husband had to sleep sitting down on the sofa and 3 ppl had to sleep in one bed. The room looked clean but had some cosmetic work needed. 3rd not much help from the hotel personnel. They said wait till Monday, I was checking out on Saturday.

1. The lack of breakfast (especially after they show up in free breakfast search results on Hotels.com) 2. TONS of noise (including from the in-room AC and the trains). 3. The pet fee is absurdly high, and a fun secret until you get there (not fun). 4. The cleaning crew knocking on the door multiple times after I said "no thank you" multiple times, and then saying "you're checking out today, right?" after opening the door. "No, we check out tomorrow." WHY DOESN'T HOUSEKEEPING KNOW THIS????!!!! LIKE AT EVERY OTHER HOTEL, EVER????!!!!" 5. Your employee at the front desk specifically calling out that you don't have free breakfast before I mention anything about free breakfast, and then asking to see the search results from where we would get such information. Did y'all used to have free breakfast? Why am I working for you now? Fix your own search results. 6. Absurd Price for a room that the AC doesn't even reach the back of. 7. Your mattresses are garbage; my wife said it was "like sleeping on the edge of a cereal bowl."
