Golden Star Hotel

The worst hotel room I've ever stayed in (and there's been some truly awful one's) the door couldn't be closed from the outside so had to take all my stuff with me when I went out. The toilet was blocked and full of tissue paper and god knows what else It didn’t flush though water was drpping from the cistern the whole time. The tap for the sink had a dribble of water so was unusable. There was no heating throughout the building. The room was filthy with dirt marks all over the walls. I can't believe Expedia advertised this on their website. Whatever the price this shouldn't be available for a paying customer.

Very dirty

Horrible to not be rude, I’ve never seen something like this before, dirty and poor condition, never been cleaned. I don’t know how hotels.com accepted property’s like this. Very sad.

Disgusting don't even think of booking. I had to go to ahouse to pay, no card machine had to be bank transfer. Room was disgusting, door damaged and kicked in. Overpowering smell of damp and mould everywhere in room. I could not stay here, items ripped off of wall, earring on side table. Expedia were useless and offered 10% refund...as hotel would not answer them.

L’unica cosa veramente valida è la posizione, infatti si trova a 10 minuti a piedi dalla stazione di Victoria, in una via estremamente tranquilla e poco trafficata, con diversi ristoranti e bar a 1 minuti di distanza. Per il resto l’esperienza è stata ORRIBILE: al momento del mio arrivo non c’era nessuno ad accogliermi, ho dovuto chiamare un numero di telefono indicato in loco e la persona è arrivata dopo mezz’ora. Devo dire che il signore che mi ha accolto era particolarmente gentile, tuttavia non ho potuto pagare con il bancomat perché mi è stato detto che il POS non funzionava…..Le condizioni di pulizia sono pessime, i mobili, le pareti, il pavimento, le porte, portavano macchie di ogni tipo e colore. All’interno c’era un forte odore di sporco. Il water portava i segni dell’ospite precedente, il lavabo era otturato e quindi l’acqua non scendeva. Viaggio da trent’anni in tutto il mondo, sono parecchio spartano e ho un buon spirito d’adattamento ma devo dire si è trattato dell’hotel più sporco che abbia mai trovato. ASSOLUTAMENTE SCONSIGLIATO!!

El personal fue muy amable y amigable. Hubo un problema con nuestra habitación y agradecemos que no nos dejaran en la calle. No obstante, las dos habitaciones en las que nos quedamos durante nuestras tres noches brillaban por la ausencia de higiene con moho por todos lados, vasos usados, ducha que ni tragaba el agua.... Londres es un poco así si no pagas un dineral por una habitación pero fue heavy el asunto.

The place was so unclean and i have taken pictures. I left the property at 6am as i couldn't wait to leave

Room was Filthy, Bed Linen Dirty Curtains held up by pieces of String. One of. the Beds was Being held up underneath by an old headboard and rubbish. Bathroom door would not close properly, used Razor blade in shower. I had to clean the shower before it was safe to use as it was so dirty, only 1 small towel supplied. Bedroom Ceiling was damaged and water stained, Window frame was rotten and letting in a breeze. Tea and coffee facilities consisted of an old stainless steel teapot and Jug. Stairs leading to and from rooms in unsafe state. Staff where rude and unhelpful. A very unsafe environment to take my Son to for his 13th Birthday trip to London. The rooms and Hotel Nowhere near matches the Photos or description, Absolutely Not worth any where near the money That was Paid out. Avoid at all cost's!

The room was not as described and the doors were not secure.. The room was smelling terribly and felt like it was not cleaned. Very unsatisfied and left as soon as I checked in

The room had only one power socket which needed an extension draped over a sink to use it. TV not working, just a single sheet on the bed, broken window, shower and door. By far the worst place I have ever had to stay

The shower was disgusting and dirty with spiders and cobwebs. The tv wasn’t working & the sink was stopped up. There were no fans or air conditioning. The room is just unusable.

Much too expensive for what is given. The conditions in the room are extremely basic. The room wasn't cleaned thoroughly at all. The shower worked fine. In the twin room, one bed was really firm and the other very soft. The curtains were hanging on by a thread and let in light all the time. The walls to my room were really thin so that I could hear the person's TV on deep into the night. There isn't a reception, the owner simply takes cash because the card machine was 'broken'. Your details are written down on pieces of paper that are cut into shape. Look, if you/re just looking to have the bare, and I mean VERY bare essentials of a place to rest then stay here but just make sure you're not paying top dollar like I did. Lastly, the man I dealt with staying there was respectful and kind - the money just isn't put back into the property.

Need to Maintenance

Bemmmm inferior, o banheiro estava estragado e tivemos que usar o banheiro do piso superior. Não ligam o hitcher, não tem sabonete no banheiro e não é tão limpo. Como íamos ficar só uma noite, foi aceitável

Room 1 Requires a little finishing off with decor. For some reason the mattress was a little smaller then the bed. Couldn't find the TV remote! The one staff member helped as much as possible even going out and brought a kettle.

The check-in starts at 1:00 pm: we were there at 1:00 pm and no one was there to receive us. This hotel has no reception desk. A random customer from the Hotel calls someone telling him that we were there. When he arrived, he said that the room was not yet cleaned so we have to wait for 1-2 hours before moving into the room. 2 hours later, a person sitting at the entrance of the Hotel was not able to tell us in which room we should go. After minutes of waiting, we had the key for the room at the first floor: the bed was barely made, the flush of the toilet was leaking, only 2 cups set on a wooden stool (on the website there should be a coffee/tea maker) We were invited to change the room in the second floor which is more acceptable than the previous one, but we have to ask for soap, paper toilets, the TV doesn't work, the heater doesn't work but replaced by a portable heater which is already in a weird condition. The sink was leaking and the floor was wet. The ceiling was in a bad condition as well as the curtain. I would not recommend this Hotel to others. I suggests Expedia checking the Hotels you advertise on your website and the real conditions in which they are because it is very disappointing.

Booked, walked there but no room available

Despite the overall low ratings this hotel has received, I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly and helpful lady who handled the keys. I had to go to a different building to pick them up, which was a bit unexpected, but she made the process quick and smooth. The room was quite basic. The bed was freshly made and the large flat screen TV worked well with a streaming service included, but the cleanliness left a lot to be desired—it felt a bit run-down and not very well maintained. The shared bathroom was very small and cramped. That said, I personally found it fine for my stay, since I spent most of my time out exploring London. The location was a big plus, with great access to public transport and connections around the city. If you're mainly looking for a place to sleep and don’t mind a more worn environment, this place could work—especially on a budget.

As basic as you can get in London, hence the low price. Good points: (1) I arrived 30 minutes after the midnight check-in limit but coud still check in, (2) staff kindly let me leave some bags there, free of charge for 3 days while i traveled.

No reception area and had to go to another hotel to call the owner. Did not take credit card, had to go to an ATM to get cash. Rot in woods, unsafe stairs, fight between tenants, ants, no garbage cans in room, says bed and breakfast but there is no food or space for that matter for a chair let alone a table . I could go on. On the positive side it is fairly close to Victoria Station. After 70 years and 64 countries, this is easily the worst I have experienced

All’interno c’era un forte odore di sporco. Il water portava i segni dell’ospite precedente, il lavabo era otturato e quindi l’acqua non scendeva. Viaggio da trent’anni in tutto il mondo, sono parecchio spartano e ho un buon spirito d’adattamento ma devo dire si è trattato dell’hotel più sporco che abbia mai trovato. ASSOLUTAMENTE SCONSIGLIATO!!

I usually ignore bad reviews but this place was actually a scam. Not open. No staff. The welcome message said to call 123-456-7890. The hotel Enrico next door welcomed me last minute and was lovely!

There was not check in availability No room available but booking and charging accepted. Check in time 12 in night they didn’t open door and refused to give rooom because not available and money not refunded

I came 11 pm in the hotel which I sent them an email saying I will be late. It turns out that they are fully booked . Imagined I traveled 5 hours from wales plus I have a visitor from Australia . It gave me a headache as I don’t know where to go. The guy offered me a used room and wait for an hour just to clean it. It turns out dirty and bad smell . I need a refund at least for this trouble ! I think this app Expedia or even the hotel itself got the problem. It’s not acceptable !

I booked one night at the Golden Star. I already knew Victoria was a great area, and since I was on a budget, their price—cheaper than anywhere else—was a big factor. To be honest, I was a little nervous after seeing a few negative reviews, but I couldn’t have been happier with my stay. The staff were polite and helpful, and I even had a nice chat with the owner, who gave me excellent recommendations for places to eat, drink and go out. He’s lived in central London all his life and knows it extremely well. I stayed in Room 5 on the second floor. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, towels and soap were provided, and the free Wi-Fi worked well. The shared bathroom was right next to my room, so it felt almost like having a private one. Overall, the hotel offered a great price in a great location, and I’ll definitely be staying there again! Very happy to have stayed

Buono il checkin fino a mezzanotte. Ottima la posizione vicino a victoria. Capisco il prezzo ma se in Italia tieni un hotel cosi sporco ti fanno chiudere subito.

Super bien ubicada, buen espacio y los dueños muy atentos siempre. Le hace falta un poco de mantenimiento pero la atención es excelente y por el precio y la zona vale la pena

Buena ubicacion, pero el resto no me ha gustado sobre todo la higiene. El lugar muy barato pero no volvería. Me he equivocado.
