Hotel was as advertised. Accommodation was good and breakfast was very good. I was able to park car but was not aware of car parking charge until checking out.

There is a £10 ‘daily’ charge to use their car park but no matter what time you arrive you have to move your car by 12pm. The room was very old and run down. It was very clean and staff were very nice. Bed was really comfortable. Sadly no lift so where I had a big suitcase I had to carry this all the way to the top. It’s fine for a one night stay but nothing special for the price

This hotel has beautiful decor and a cosy feel. We really enjoyed our stay. Bar is an added bonus, and the prices are not hiked. Breakfast was very good. M Highly recommend

Great stay, really enjoyed it. Receptionist was lovely and a nice location. Just be aware the carpark is small and you need to pay a clean air charge if traveling into bath.

The staff in reception and the restaurant are all excellent. Parking was good because we arrived at the 2pm check in time. The 2 walking routes into the centre of Bath are easy and take only 10-15 minutes. We had breakfast on 2 days and were delighted with the quality of the cooked meals.

Firstly the staff were excellent. All very attentive, we were shown to our room by reception and servers at breakfast were lovely. However, the property while clean was pretty tired. Needs some investment to bring it up to it’s so called 5 stars which it definitely is not - outside of the property needs a good jet wash. Thought it was very expensive for room only and then breakfast was another £16 each and using the car park £10 a day was disappointing. Wouldn’t stay again but again staff very good

Our King superior room was in the basement with a view of the parking lot. We were moved because the room smelled moldy and heavily perfumed. We were moved to a first floor room with a small double bed for the first night and then into a 2nd floor king superior room. The next day it rained and water poured through the ceiling. The carpets in all these rooms were dirty and stained. No doubt there is mold in at least one of the rooms we were in. We cancelled the last day of our reservation. The front desk staff and breakfast staff were excellent.

The hotel was conveniently located for walking in to town which was a 5 to 6 minute walk. The hotel could do with some TLC as it did look a little shabby in our room. The carpet had stains, the curtains had water damage and it looked like there’d been a small leak in the bathroom as the wood was damaged. Also the outside of the building could do with being jet washed. The staff were all very polite and helpful and the breakfast was great.

From the outside, looks a little tired, but once you are in the rooms are large, clean, and well-equipped. The staff were friendly and thoughtful. Little touches, like a handwritten personal card in the room, make you feel welcome. My only extra two wishes would be for a little more illumination near the window for the evening (a reading lamp, for instance) and there were effectively two dressing tables but not a proper desk and chair - which makes it quite hard to do any work. The location is excellent, and I shall definitely try to stay again when I next visit Bath.

Good location as very easily walkable to city centre and staff are great. But this is not a 5 star hotel, not the cleanest; there was hair in our bathroom and walls dirty. Not as beautiful as the pictures quite deceiving.

We loved staying at this property. It was so convenient to walk into the city and there was ample parking. Staff were extremely friendly and we enjoyed a nightcap in the lounge every night. Our room was gorgeous and had lovely views, but could do with a deep clean of walls and carpets. The bathroom was huge! The bed was extremely comfortable.

Beautiful grand suite. The staff were top class, always available with a smile. Quiet area, just a short walk away from the city centre and train station. Housekeeping didn’t change used cups and glasses. Bit of a trouble opening the old doors out to the garden. Loved it and would love to stay again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ayrlington. The staff were most welcoming and accommodating. The room was lovely and the most spacious we've had in all of England, anywhere. The shower was incredible! The room was also incredibly quiet and we slept really well. We would definitely stay here again.

We booked the Grand Suite which was beautiful and comfortable with our own access to a private garden. Bianca at the reception was most courteous, helpful and friendly - she even helped us carry our luggage from the car. The hotel is in a great location with walking distance to the city center. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciate Bianca’s hospitality. Will definitely recommend to friends visiting Bath.

Pretty place that's a short, pleasant walk from the center of Bath. Large room and bathroom, big windows with nice gardens and view, although a little less 4 star than expected. Rooms could use some painting and upgrading; they are a little faded right now. Felt a little pricey for what it was.

Nice place. Easy enough to walk to centre. Room at front very noisy with traffic. At back would probably be ok. Few things that I felt didn’t live up to its 5* for example curtain hanging off rail, shower hose leaking too badly to use (rain did work), taps wrong way round (hot=cold etc) Minor points. Really didn’t like being automatically charged on my card for breakfast before we had even left our room to go to breakfast room!! Should be charged after breakfast IMO as normal after any dining experience. I didn’t give permission to charge my card before an event! Improper use of my card

We were greeted on our arrival and immediately offered help with parking and our bags. The young lady at reception made us feel very welcome and showed us to our room. The room was excellent, breakfast area and lounge also very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. Very happy to recommend and we will use again.

The hostess at the hotel was very friendly and helpful and the room was spacious and clean. I did, however, book the room because it was meant to have a bath and it did not have one. Parking was a good price for bath city centre but the cleaner had blocked me in and seemed annoyed that she had to move her car for me to get out and leave.

The reception staff, Bianca in particular, were so helpful with all aspects of our stay including carrying our bags up the stairs, suggesting places to go and walk to, assisting with parking and lovely breakfasts. We loved our stay!

We had a fabulous stay. The staff were lovely and could not do enough for you. The rooms were perfect, with everything you need. Great location within walking distance of everything. We will definitely recommend and will be back. Excellent value for money.

Fab welcome from the very friendly and helpful Kara on reception, lovely big and very clean room (The Empire room, with the four poster bed), great tasty breakfast served by the very friendly and helpful Jane, and the (admittedly small but manageable with care) car park for just £10 per day, right outside. Only a 10 min stroll into the centre so great location for all the main attractions including seeing a play in The Royal Theatre House, as we did. Easily walkable and a chance to have a break from driving. Highly recommended and we’ll definitely return there again soon. Thank you to all at The Ayrlington.

We had a fabulous stay. The staff were lovely and could not do enough for you. The rooms were perfect, with everything you need. Great location within walking distance of everything. We will definitely recommend and will be back. Excellent value for money.

Our stay at The Ayrlington was absolutely perfect. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm and welcoming, the room was beautifully appointed with classic charm and modern comforts, and the location offered stunning views and easy access to the heart of Bath. The tranquil garden and peaceful atmosphere made it feel like a true escape. The only slight letdown was breakfast — while the quality was good, clearer communication from the serving staff would have made the experience even better. Overall, a wonderful stay and highly recommended for anyone visiting Bath.

This hotel is perfectly located within walking distance of the centre of Bath . The hotel offers parking at £10 per day making it very convenient. Each room has a theme .We stayed in the Chinese room which was very spacious and had everything we needed. The staff were very friendly and approachable . There was a great choice for breakfast which was of a high quality. Would definitely recommend.

The staff in reception and the restaurant are all excellent. Parking was good because we arrived at the 2pm check in time. The 2 walking routes into the centre of Bath are easy and take only 10-15 minutes. We had breakfast on 2 days and were delighted with the quality of the cooked meals.

Fab welcome from the very friendly and helpful Kara on reception, lovely big and very clean room (The Empire room, with the four poster bed), great tasty breakfast served by the very friendly and helpful Jane, and the (admittedly small but manageable with care) car park for just £10 per day, right outside. Only a 10 min stroll into the centre so great location for all the main attractions including seeing a play in The Royal Theatre House, as we did. Easily walkable and a chance to have a break from driving. Highly recommended and we’ll definitely return there again soon. Thank you to all at The Ayrlington.

The hotel is good and the room is very big. And the staff is helpful. Breakfast is delicious. But just we stay in Aug and hotel no air-conditioning. Day time may hot but evening is suitable.

The hotel could use some investment and a deep clean. Patio area wasn’t swept or very inviting with no cushions. One day we were locked out as no staff services desk. Housekeeping was good but the room itself needs an update with dirty cushions and dirty floors / couches. It wouldn’t meet brand standards of a chain hotel. Everything felt just too mediocre. Good location though and kind staff

Our room was wonderful. It was large and stylish with a wonderful view over the garden. All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Great breakfast freshly cooked. Perfect location for Bath city centre, yet wonderfully peaceful. Lovely all round.
