Clean beach .. gym was awesome . Full gym and evening classes. Please update equipment. Pools were clean and one meets Olympic size standards

This property has some serious problems with its utilities specifically water supply and water quality. The senior management are clueless as to how to resolve this and in our case they failed to respond directly to any of our complaints. Bathrooms and fixtures are of poor quality and in bad condition. The issues we had can be summarised as follows: 1. Water stoppages lasting more than 3 hours on 5 out of our 11 days stay. 2. Poorly treated water supply from borehole. 3. Bathroom window did not shut properly leaving a path for mosquitoes. 4. Lack of consistent hot water 5. Taps not working properly 6. Toilet cistern broke down but got repaired 7. Internet breakdown for more than 12 hours. 8. The staff were polite and apologetic but powerless to resolve any problems - appears to be a management issue.

The room and the resort is completely run down. When I say completely, I mean completely. No way this is a "luxury" resort.

Expedia check in (again, had the same in Meru) not registered properly. So off to a rough start. Nice location. Lift not working. Properly not really kept, can use some work. Indian food very nice. Coffee meh. Pizza was terrible, deep frozen factory produced. Staff generally friendly. Place has potential but needs some TLC across all areas

Some facilities are old

On returning to the room hoping for a shower at about 11/11.30pm I found the bathroom was flooded with water which seeped halfway into the bedroom. Fortunately, my bags were at the other end of the bedroom and so stayed dry. It was cleaned up in about an hour and a half or so. This meant I did not get to shower till much later, delaying my sleep. We organised a later check out the morning after.

Elevator was not operating and I was on the 4th floor. Bathroom sink hot water barely a trickle. Purchased a slice of cake in the lounge - the cake was dry and had a weird chemical taste. Housekeeping turned of the main light switch and room had no electricity when I came back and I had to call the front desk to have them send technician to resolve. When I checked I had forgotten my room keys in the room and they wanted to charge me for a key despite inconveniencing me as described above. The only positive I have to add is Lilian who was at the reception. She genuinely wanted my feedback

The property is changing brands and was under construction. The wing I stayed had a magnificent beach view with a clean bed. The grounds are amazing! They were painting and cleaning up but that didn't bother me at all.

A very relaxing stay, with all the facilities you would expect at a good price. Nice large room though the bathroom could do with an update. The direct access to the beach is fantastic.

Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was far from satisfactory. The room and bathroom were very dirty, and all the furnishings were old and neglected. The mosquito net was terribly dusty and had stains from squashed mosquitoes, which was not only unpleasant but also gave the impression that hygiene is not a priority here. Additionally, the check-in process was lengthy because they couldn’t find my reservation confirmation, and I had to send them an email with the confirmation. The towels were also dirty. Furthermore, the photos on Expedia do not reflect the actual condition of the rooms – everything looked much better in the pictures than in reality. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you care about cleanliness and good conditions.

Beware! Sewer leak in bedroom and terrible customer service! The food will make you sick, the customer service will make you sicker. We got a room for the holidays and had a nasty sewer leak that almost destroyed our property. My girlfriend was in the shower and human poop and water came out of the shower drain and flooded our whole room. Did they offer us another room? Nope! Did they offer us a refund? Nope! All they did was mop the floor and make us remain in our sewer infested room for the duration of the trip. Any other respectable hotel would've at least offered another room and a refund. On top of that, customer service is very dubious, apathetic, slow, and inconsiderate. Think hard anf think twice before booking a trip here. I never make internet reviews, I'm not that type of person, even if something bothers me, but this place needs to be called out.

Unfortunately did not enjoy my stay, this property is outdated and needs a lot of improvement the room had a mouldy smell and bathroom with shower curtains were very dirty. Dinning room staff were very pushy and not able to help with the basics, the food was not up to scratch. the besting about this place is its location on the beach other than that it need demolish and start a fresh. I will not recommend to anyone.

We checked out 3 days early than planned, because of the unpleasant conditions. The standards of this hotel would not be acceptable to most holiday makers. There were a calamity of things that would never allow me to recommend this hotel! Firstly, I will never forget the mildew-damp smell that greeted me on entering the suite we had booked. They provide mosquito nets over beds, which is good, but they were torn or stained, on more than one bed. Pull back the pillow cases and our pillows revealed grey mould patches, so filthy, that we inevitably chose to sleep without them. I had curtains hanging off their hooks and worse still, the patio doors leading to outside were warped and did not lock properly -as a female with a young family this was a huge concern. The bathroom featured rusting taps with peeling chrome surface, that looked like it was diseased. Then, there was the shower that did not drain properly resulting in pools of sitting water. Even though I was moved to another room, the alternative was not any better: The unclean extractor fan had dead mosquitos plastered all over it, like an insect graveyard. Towel rails were rusty. Poorly fitted plug sockets on walls and handles missing off a sliding door. In the restaurant, the staff did not care about flies landing on food they were about to serve guests, or the frequent roaming cat that jumped on tables! The only positive it gets, is down to its scenic view. My biggest regret is the money I wasted on booking this place!

How Expedia rates this 3 stars is baffling. 78 countries maybe 1,000 hotel rooms this is in the filthiest bathroom and pillows. No toilet paper, water in shower was brackish not fresh. Mold everywhere. Total rip off, complain to the front desk they just look at you, well you where stupid enough to book it. Especially when price is as high as it is. Place is literally falling apart, roof of part of the pool bar collapsed, luckily no one sitting there. Local guide reviews are bogus.

We basically paid for something we did not receive. Our first day Saturday 28th October until we.left on the Tuesday having booked until 4Nov was a nightmare from hell. My first Premier Deluxe room was a ground floor room with mould around the handbasin and shower and damp walls. Toilet seat cracked and no space to swing a cat and the water did not drain from handbasin and I would not have put a dead animal in the fridge. The presence of mosquitoes wax overwhelming and given Mombasa was a red zone that clearly was cause for concer with no nets on the patio doors. The condition of the room was disgusting I was moved to another room on the first floor. Whilst the bathroom was in a better condition k again couldn’t touch the fridge. The nets on the bed was disgusting with presence of s myriad of dead creatures. The pillows were all so soiled I can’t imagine why and how they would expected a guest to lay their head. Also had bed bugs. The breakfast was a farce and it was survival of the fittest the flies or us. It gets worse but I have limited characters. Shame on you Expedia for selling something not fit for purpose and taking our money.

Easy access, nice place. Room need a little TLC

I booked a three night stay here with my wife and daughter and we enjoyed every moment of our stay. The staff are friendly and the facility is very clean with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. All the balconies are facing the beach front and the views are amazing. I recommend this hotel.

It's not a bad hotel , just a bit old. They need new smart tv's and mini fridges. Everything runs slow there so if you need to get somewhere don't wake up late.

We were so disappointed with the cost for what you got. The hotel is old and run down. Our room had furniture that was rotting and although we paid for the deluxe room with a sea view we got a small average room and we couldn't see the sea. The only thing that was fine about the room was the airconditioner worked well.

I didn’t expect much from this place before I booked it but I was completely surprised after the first day. The property was right on the beach and the staff was great and friendly. The only slight problem was the wifi connection. It was slow at times. I would recommend this place to anyone considering staying on Nyali beach.

There was not enough workers. If you need something you have to ask like at least 5-6 times until you get it. We were waiting for an iron for almost 2 hours. Very long waits for orders and every time you ask for help or something, the staff disappears. I would recommend staying somewhere else.

Eventually they let it go without patment - I don't know if it was a mistake or they tried to cheat us. We tried 2x to order food (a la carte), 2 dishes each (4 total), the 2nd time thinking we were maybe just unlucky with the 1st order. Everything had a bad taste, wouldn't ever eat there again. I didn't try the buffet so can't comment on that. Overall the staff were pleasant, friendly, and went above and beyond. Rooms a little dated but well maintained. I just wish they would get a cook who's trained, and ensure the receptionist isn't trying to add on extra charges. Pools, view, proximity to the ocean were all perfect.

A great place to stay. The old charm of one of Nyali’s oldest hotels, but being updated by the new owners. Food and service was great. The shower and bathroom was fine. Our room was lovely and spacious. The fridge didn’t work but was replaced immediately. Location is good being on the beach, but close to all the amenities that Links Road and Nyali can offer.

I didn't try the buffet so can't comment on that. Overall the staff were pleasant, friendly, and went above and beyond. Rooms a little dated but well maintained. about meals .... No buffet ... no chicken ....No pizza ... no cheese ... no youghurt ... and so on And you know ... ! if you go to the shop and buy yoghurt, its confiscated and you are treated as a criminal !! Unfortunately I am not allowed to use the correct word to describe this policy towards guests !! You really think think that is guests want to spend their holiday ?? OK, you don't believe me ?? hahaha... just try !! You just try !!

Will definitely stay here again, great place, great food, great room.. i wish i would of stayed here longer than i did. Awesome place

Amazing stay. Friendly staff. Buffet diversity could be improved, but I'll recommend any day.
