Disappointing stay, while only on site a short time I felt that facilities were substandard, and staff lacked a real service / customer-oriented mindset. Building work was ongoing and Noisy. The day beds in the small pool area were next to vents from the hotels laundry making it particularly unpleasant.

Beach is very small (at high tide it barely exists) and very rocky when you get in the water. Family pool is very small.

Beautiful view, listening to the waves every day. Hotel is modern, nice and clean although a bit dated. Staffs are super friendly and welcoming. Beach is narrow but still lovely. Food and drinks are nice. We enjoyed it a lot despite the other side is under renovation.

Generally clean, staff mostly friendly. Beach very small. Good gym, sparcely used Food quality fair.

Had a very nice relaxing vacation and the staff was very friendly only wished the pool stayed open longer than 6:30p

What I’d expect from a 4 star hotel. Fabulous stay from start to finish. Most of the staff are amazing. Shenesa in the restaurant, Ken on the bar & reception staff. Dosa staff need improvement. Free watersports were amazing. Beach is small but amazing & all you need

i enjoyed the staff more than anything else about the property. The property is split across a main street with heavy vehicular traffic. There is a crosswalk between the properties. Drivers respect the crosswalk and stop when approached. A majority of the functions take place on the beach side of the property which is a short walk across the street. There are quite a bit of stairs between both sides of the properties. The property is well manicured and beautifully maintained. Very picturesque location.

This was a wonderful birthday getaway in a boutique-style hotel and Spa. Spa services were performed in the suites as the hotel is undergoing renovation - be sure to enjoy the salt scrub and back massage! The pool was still available at the main building. Dining available at Seascapes restaurant or if you're interested in eating at one of their sister hotels, you may take a water taxi to Tamarind or Crystal Cove. Kyma Café is a great spot for a quick bite, or if you are feeling "snackish" overnight. Note, dinner reservations are required irrespective of site and request a copy of the water taxi schedule (or take a picture). If you are looking to explore local eats and excursions, or activities available on the premises, then Kevin is your man! The staff are like a family - welcoming and inviting, and we shared soooo many laughs! We are grateful for all who contributed to a great stay - Ryan, Kevin, Tiara, Ms. Beverly, Debbie, Rhia & Janisa, Ms. Cheryl and Oliver, Derek, Stefan, Daron, Sabrina, Christina, Sariah, Akeil, Jabaar, Kemal, Tanisha, Keshia and Kim, even the lovely Jennifer (yoga instructor). We connected with everyone - too many to name! Everyone is friendly and willing to help!

Hotel was excellent. We booked an ocean view room which had an amazing view. The room was spacious, clean and bed very comfortably. The staff were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for us - organising our trips and answering all our questions. The quality and range of food available in the Seascape restaurant was very good. Although note that due to renovations to the Shiso restaurant, the Seascape restaurant was often a la carte in the evenings and you need to book a table. Service in the bar was great, with a wide choice available. The hotel wine was good and we didn't feel the need to any buy premium wine, although it is available. There was entertainment every evening, except Sunday. This included singers, a saxophonist and steelpan group. The beach is not as extensive as the hotel photos indicate due to storms earlier this year. The Yellowfin team at the beach were very helpful with water skiing, doughnut rides and SUP. Drinks are available at the beach or brought to you at the beach. Be aware that a number of the other Elegant Hotels are closed at the moment and people were being moved to Waves or Crystal Cove. Our room was not available when we arrived - which was very disappointing. We were allocated a poolside room for the first 2 days. It was adaquate but not what we booked. We were not the only visitors to experience this.

The entire property was well taken care of and the staff was very attentive. Food was great, the beds were comfortable and the hotel room itself and the facilities were extremely clean. Will stay again!

We have been loyal Marriott members for years and have ownership. Never had a problem with quality. We paid $470 a night expected so much more. So many problems with his hotel on the water pressure to parking to hot water issues, plaster issues, etc. I would never recommend this place.

The hotel is very clean and there are plenty of staff on hand to help, especially at reception. We were very well looked after and well fed. Our ocean view room was lovely and quiet and the beds were very comfortable. We loved all the water sports directly on the beach which were included. We never had to wait for any activities and all kit was provided. We enjoyed the complimentary water taxi up to Payne’s Bay where we saw turtles and a tarpon! The sea was clear and warm and the small beach at Waves well kept. Being brought lollies, melon and drinks on the beach was great. Thank you to all the staff for making our holiday so special.

Staff were great, but the showers was never cleaned properly the whole time I was there. Other than that, pretty good. Loved the clean beach aesthetics of the room.

The hotel staff were amazing. Everyone is very pleasant and kind. The property is clean, rooms are well maintained, breathtaking view of the beach .

Room was comfortable, nice view and great location… but shower was a disgrace, impossible to regulate warm water during whole stay and the jet stream was very weak… Also it happened that being the last person to leave the beach I left a tank top by the guest shower and it never appeared at lost and found, this was frustrating… Other frustration was parking, most cars that were parked at the premises belonged to hotel workers and service providers so I had to leave the keys to the parking person, which as a guest it meant I didn’t have parking priority… risking any damage to my car rental… As for the service in general I have to say that it was great, the hotel staff was superb , very friendly and helpful, and in general food was good….

From the moment of our arrival to our departure, the staff at Waves was friendly, accommodating and consistently went above and beyond to make our stay a great experience. One of many instances of this was when we needed our bed linens changed at 10pm I requested linens but mentioned I would change the bed myself, and just moments later the concierge came to the door with an entire set of clean sheets and insisted that she make the bed for us as it was “not my job” as a guest. Travelling for the first time with an infant was daunting, and the Staff at the Waves was incredible. From the dining staff, concierge, bar staff, housekeeping, beach staff, security, and even the GM, Kim, everyone was so helpful and loving with us and our daughter. Thank you to everyone. Above that, the hotel common spaces as well as our room was beautiful, modern and impeccably clean. 10/10 would recommend. We’ll be back.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating with anything needed. Mainly adults and older children on vacation. We only saw one other couple with a small infant. The beach was beautiful, but rocky so have your feet be prepared:) Rooms were updated and comfortable with a beautiful view. The property has two dining locations in which you make the reservations at the front desk. Overall great experience and stay, especially traveling with our son who turned one. They made us very special and memorable. Would absolutely recommend for families or couples.

Overall an OK experience. The hotel has nice staffs and good facilities. The room is very clean and nicely decorated. The beach is really nice. The pools are nice. Now here are the negatives: Food: Really really subpar. The selection, quality and quantity is really poor. We had to eat out most of the time to not deal with hotel foods. Activities: The nightly activities end at 10:30 and they usually involve loud music. If you want to rest early or if you are a early sleeper. Good luck. Biggest gripe: During the last two days of my stay, I have had noise problems. I got waken up at 2:30 AM two nights in a row due to loud talking and yelling on the patio. Also loud bassy music was playing well after midnight on the last day of my stay. I was not sure it was guests or staffs but why it was allowed is beyond my knowledge. Think twice before booking this hotel if you are looking for good food or if you want a relaxing experience. You might be disappointed.

If you are trying to decide between the Marriott properties- this is definitely the best (more to open soon though). The beach is beautiful and there is great snorkeling if you follow the rope on the left side over the reef. We stayed in a split ocean view - incredible view. The adults pool is beautifully landscaped and feels very special (even had monkey activity). The staff is the best part of the stay - they genuinely want your stay to be top notch- shout out to Ether, Astrid, Tamisha and Raquel…book this hotel now - you will not regret it!

Beautiful boutique hotel with recently renovated rooms. Friendly, attentive staff that delivered excellent service and made our stay welcoming. Perfect spot to relax, reset, and rejuvenate.

The room was average and in need of an upgrade

The hotel itself was lovely - in terms of the room - we booked the two-story room and the views were amazing. However, for the price we paid - the food options were horrible for an all inclusive. If you are used to staying at All Inclusive resorts (like Jamaica etc) - this is NOTHING like those resorts. The food options were extremely disappointing - honestly, breakfast at a Holiday Inn has more options and tastes better. You had to make dinner reservations and again, there was a set menu which you had to choose from which was extremely small. The cafe on the property also had a set menu and closed at 6:30 pm - which was crazy - so no coffee or tea at night. If you wanted room service, you had to pay for delivery per order (which is insane considering this was an all-inclusive resort) . I would not recommend the hotel given the cost and would look for another resort even if you have to pay a little extra. When I booked the reservation - the description included basic spa services - hence why I selected this hotel. However, when I went to book my spa services, I was informed there was an error in the description and that unless I stayed 5 nights, no spa services was included. FALSE advertising and they would not even honor what I had seen to book. If I was able to cancel the reservation then, I would have. Find another hotel and save your money!

The Resort was really nice and very clean. Staff was very pleasant. I only had one issue which was that I really couldn’t enjoy the balcony because it was too hot to sit out there due to the AC condenser which was blowing hot air. I don’t know whose idea it was to place them there but it defeats the purpose of having a balcony if you cannot sit there.

The worst service and hotel.

The staff was generally pleasant, especially at the front desk, but my experience at the coffee shop was very disappointing. The staff there were often rude and unaccommodating. For example, we were told we couldn’t have ice cream in the general deck area and were restricted to eating it in the bakery, yet we later saw other guests walking away freely with their bakery items. When I asked to have some items wrapped to take away (as the front desk had assured me was possible), the staff member in the bakery mumbled about not having containers, which made the situation embarrassing—I felt as though I was begging. In addition, the patio in my room was leaking. Small droplets constantly fell from a beam, leaving the floor wet and slippery. I nearly fell because of it. Finally, the tubing experience was extremely unsafe and poorly managed. There was no clear explanation about what to expect or how to sit properly, and as a result, I was thrown from the tube into the middle of the ocean. The ride was rough, jolting, and painful. Despite repeatedly telling the operators it was too fast, they dismissed my concerns, saying it wasn’t rough. Unfortunately, it was a frightening and traumatic experience—I ended up with whiplash. The staff urgently need to provide clear safety instructions and adjust the speed when guests express discomfort. This activity was not enjoyable at all and left me shaken. The food was really food especially at Dosa . But I expected food round the clock

Every female waitress at the Seaside restaurant at the Waves resort had the nastiest attitude. Came here for my mom 71st birthday and she was treated poorly. They refused to sing happy Birthday. Took forever to bring our food. We had to beg to see a dessert menu etc. Never again

The Asian restaurant was closed half the time which just left the main dinning room as the only option. That said, this wasn't a show stopper as the main dinning room did provide different options daily. The staff were definitely the star of the show. 6 star service from all, every time.

The hospitality at Waves was unmatched! When they say they will meet any need you want, they are not lying! From day 1 to departure day, their entire staff, was very accommodating to our entire party! Eating accommodations, special food requests, birthday celebrations, unexpected medical treatments and transportation requests were honored and top notch! Our bell hop, Daron, made the trip seamless and amazing for all of us! We couldn’t thank him enough! The views were also breathtaking! We will definitely be back and staying only at Waves!

Staff was great, very friendly and attentive. The private beach is ideal for families and the hotel in general is a great option for those looking for a midsize to small hotel where you feel like home. Only negative that goes for most all inclusive hotels is that the quality of the dining meals are average at best but it gave us an excuse to dine out and meet new places. Otherwise, the hotel was great, reasonably well located on the island and a relaxing place to stay.

I enjoyed the Waves hotel very much. The view was amazing, hard to beat. The room was clean and the staff friendly and kind. The foot was decent, but not amazing. The bus stop right outside is very convenient for journeying around the area, very cheap as well.

Everyone at Waves was very attentive and kind. The beach was beautiful. The room was comfortable and clean The food was delicious. The resort had fun daily activities so we didn’t feel like we needed to leave, but when we did the surrounding area felt very safe. We can’t wait to go back!

Much older vacationers; everyone kept to themselves. Staff was argumentative. Rooms were small; shower stall only; almost no beach at all; food was mediocre on a good day; bad location in relation to shopping and restaurants; taxi required to go almost anywhere (and rates were through the roof!) Barbados is just extremely expensive and you sure don’t get what you pay for. Waves - don’t walk away from this hotel….RUN!

My family and I had a great stay at Waves Resort & Spa. The hotel is small and gives an intimate feeling which I loved. The staff were amazing, and always friendly and welcoming. The only con I had was the limited food options at the buffet and for dinner. We ended up eating out a few nights because of this. The bathroom in the rooms could also need some updating. The best part was the Ocean view rooms, and close proximity to fine dining options. I would definitely return.

The access to the beach, snorkeling at the beach and the view.

I liked that the property had an adult only area which was nice and quiet, with a beautiful pool. I wasn't crazy about having to cross the busy road each time we wanted to get to the main hotel. However, the good food, friendly staff and amenities made it all worthwhile.

The waves resort and spa is definitely a gem! If I had any tip it’d be that there’s no service from around midnight. No bar, no food. So if you’re a late eater definitely bring snacks.

Food is horrible

Yes, the room was neat and clean the staff were very helpful and accommodating to the best of what they had to offer. On the other hand, the Food and Beverages were subpar at best, and the dinner options were limited to 2 locations which did not provide adequate food whatsoever. Poor Quality and Poor Choices to say the least. In fact, we had to go outside of all-inclusive and spend Hundreds of dollars for dinner. We would probably not return to this location ever again Unfortunately!!

The food was excellent but there could be more variety

The all inclusive feature is terrific. Plentiful food and even mixed drinks all the time but unfortunately, the food was mostly poor. The drinks were nice to have but not fabulous by any standards. The surrounding area was truly awful and the property’s beach was limited. Despite an attentive staff, our stay wasn’t great.

It’s an all inclusive resort. They have 2 restaurants, one bar, one coffee shop. There’s a bar stand at the beach. It’s a small resort, but has all that you need for a relaxing vacation. The staff members are all very pleasant, accommodating. Food quality is great, but lack of variety. We stayed for a week, so we tried almost everything on the dinner menu. Overall experience is very positive, I will recommend this hotel to family and friends.
