Good Place and nice Stuff, but Spa Prices are too expensive and Gym Equipment is insufficient

We stayed as a family of 10 for 6 nights. The reception staff were welcoming and check in was quick and easy. The staff and animations team were really good. They would always try and get the guests involved in the entertainment and activities. The rooms are spacious but are in need of renovation and a deep clean. Bring your own shower gel, as we asked everyday for a top up but never got any. The walls and carpets in the corridors are horrendous. The corridors make you feel like you need a shower after walking through them. They have energy saving lights in the corridors which is a good idea, however half the sensors do not work so you have to walk in darkness. My father who is 84 and walks with a walking stick nearly fell on numerous occasions. There’s random equipment left in the stair wells which is a hazard. The elevators were volatile and some were out of action. The swimming pool was a good size, it was clean and had an area where you could lay down. The spa facilities were not great, average at best. We decided to book some treatments and the massage was good. The drinks are local drinks. If you wanted branded spirits there was an additional surcharge. The hotel is advertised as having 5 restaurants but actually there is the buffet restaurant and one themed restaurant. There was a variety of food, however it was very canteen like. The beach was nice and clean. Unfortunately you get vendors trying to sell you things which leave you unable to relax.

Booked sea view family room, we had a garden view with sea in a distance! Was told all the rooms had the same view they don’t have a pole view so we could have save £100 and paid for garden view and got the same room! Reception staff were very rude when we come down to ask about the room they just said they are all the same we have none on pool view asked for another room he just looked at us and walked away! Very rude. Couch in room wasn’t clean, curtains had stains on and base of bed was all ripped!! Only people helpful was the baggage staff and our cleaner they was great but other than them no one who was very helpful, no sun beds were available and when there was you have to go and get your cushion for sun lounger! Had to pay 100 dinar for 2 towels and they were small towels, at 9.30am when they opened was told to come back from in about 1 hour cause they had to towels available everyday! It wasn’t the best first impression and didn’t improve, we extended are holiday but now have booked another hotel for the rest of our days here because of the services we was given!!

La piscine extérieure est magnifique, la piscine intérieure est agréable. La salle de sport est un peu petite. Le restaurant est spacieux, la nourriture est de qualité. Nous n'avons pas eu de problème de santé. La totalité du personnel est agréable. L equipe d animation, même à 4 personnels se démène pour nous faire passer d agréables moments et de belles soirées. Attention aux excursions, la balade en dromadaires de Salwa est un attrape touristes au milieu d une décharge : inutile. Les conditions ne sont pas expliquées et on ne cherche qu'à vous prendre des sous.

I seen people paying pool staff to keep them sun loungers, towels were left on loungers all day, there are signs everywhere saying you cannot reserve sun loungers with towels…. It was just a free for all. Rooms are nice but we paid for a sea view, which we didn’t get, as we was told the hotel was full. Carpets in the hallways look really dirty and nasty, shop in reception is a rip off, I have been to many hotels in port el kantaoui and I would not return to this hotel, there are better hotels for less money, don’t waste your money on this hotel.

The hotel is definitely not a 5* its below 3*. No AC in the hotel apart from the rooms, sensor lights in corridor dont work properly so your walking in the dark. They are short of staff the food is not a 5* either food would finish 1.5hr from strating time and would not be refilled untill u complain, we waited 1 hour and 5min for glasses to be given to us at dinner and the staff give attitude when u keep asling them. Please trust me and the review of people who have mentioned the same thing cos it true to the point. I thought people were being fussy or exaggerated it but believe me they didn't. I would not recommend this hotel at all. Also this hotel overbooks and can not provide rooms as they did this to us. We we booked 9 rooms and was only given 4 so the 1st night we had to share rooms with 6 people sharing one room. I will be calling expedia and complaining about this as we lost out a room for 1 night which we paid for.

It was horrible in every aspect, the reception staff were disrespectful and unprofessional when it comes to critsisim, the restaurant is so bad till that we questioned of is it a 5 star hotel, the fact that he served my wife raw fish at lunch and then proceeded to do the same at dinner made me confirm that this hotel is really that bad, other than that the overall food quality was poor, when it comes to room service it is poor, the AC does not work and we were 3 people ( my wife me and my son ) we asked for a bed and he said no there is no beds we can give ( to replace it with the couch ) and then me and my son were going through the hall and we found that there is certain people that got the bed and we did not, also we did not have a kettle in day 1 it took two days just to deliver a kettle, overall wise if you wanna stay at Barcelo don't and save your money The indoor swimming pool is a mess the smell and the color of the pool is enough i don't wanna dive deeper into the description or i will cause internal vomiting for the reader Fun fact mini bar is out of service, we told the reception and they do not care and they did not just disrespect me and my family many other families that were in the reception got disrespected using slurs To sum it up this is how your first day in Barcelo would usually go like: no help with the luggage, one hour of waiting in the reception, cry cause the food is that bad, cry cause the AC does not work, and trust me things will get worse.

Ce furent de bonnes vacances à presque tous les égards et la nourriture était variée et délicieuse. Tous les employés sont joyeux et essaient d'aider le client. Surtout Miss Amira, la réceptionniste, qui est joyeuse et gentille. Au niveau de la propreté, on note un manque de propreté important dans les chambres, notamment le balcon qui n'est jamais nettoyé. Il y a également un retard lors de l'enregistrement à l'hôtel.

Hôtel catastrophique et ne mérite pas ces étoiles. En voici les raisons: - nourriture médiocre: plusieurs personnes ont eu une intoxication alimentaire. Les oiseaux se servent directement dans les plats du buffet. Aucune variété. - staff de la réception incompétent. Ils font des grimaces et accuse les clients de voler des linges - nettoyage des chambres incompétent: les femmes de ménages entrent dans la chambre pendant que vous dormez pour ramasser les linges. Vous devez ensuite attendre 12:00 pour vous douchez car aucun linge. Même pour se laver le visage. Une honte. - telephone dans les chambre ne fonctionne pas pour appeler la réception - lumière dans les chambres ne fonctionnent pas dans le hall d’entrée. - tapis dans les couloirs noir de moisissures - odeur de la ventilation des cuisines qui s’infiltre dans les chambres.

La femme de ménage entre sans frapper, la chambre n’a été faite que deux fois en une semaine. Coupures d’eau chaude à répétition. La chambre était grande, oui… mais dans un état de saleté qui gâche tout. La piscine était correcte dans l’ensemble, mais à la plage, le personnel voulait absolument finir avant l’heure : transats rangés dès 16h30… inadmissible pour des vacanciers. Une énorme déception.

I'm a frequent traveler. This hotel is definetely not a 5 stars one. I am a hotels.com Platinum member and I did not get any perks. The receptionist did not explain anything and checkin is very slow, service is mediocre and restaurant is very crowded and very noisy. But the best one : booked 3 rooms. We found crockroaches in 2 of them. Pool and food are good, though. Way to go.

The service was 5 stars, very nice staff, the waiters are super friendly and nice people. The room is clean and comfortable. Hotel has all amenities you could enjoy.

Era la seconda volta che soggiornavamo in questo hotel. Lo scorso anno ci siamo trovati bene e quindi abbiamo ri prenotato anche quest’anno. Evidente cambio direzionale e gestionale. Sono stati non comprensivi con ogni richiesta fatta, molto polemici. Non disponibili a venirci incontro in nulla. Pretendono mance ovunque. Pulizia al limite della sufficienza. Le uniche persone da segnalare in positivo sono: - French del ristorante: solare, gentile e disponibile sempre; - la signora delle pulizie Jamira bravissima; Il manager dell’accoglienza non si commenta nemmeno per non disponibilità e maleducazione. Il cibo e il ristorante non sono da 5 stelle! Non ripeteremo l’esperienza! Peccato perché la struttura meriterebbe un servizio eccellente! Bravi i ragazzi dell’animazione!

Friendly staff

On a passé une bonne semaine, l’hôtel est grand spacieux, piscine et plage au Au Top personnel Au Top et petits soins. Par contre dommage il n’y a pas de café mort, impossible de prendre un vrai thé à la menthe ou une Chicha il faut sortir. À la thalasso est bien, mais je préfère celle du Royal Kenz L’accès à la plage directe est appréciable, malgré que la plage n’est pas propre. Les cocktails sont quelconques, mais les serveurs sont très gentils. Si vous leur dites le dosage ils vous font le meilleur cocktail.😉 Globalement, on a passé un bon séjour tout de même, même si on s’attendait à un niveau au-dessus Les parties communes laissent à désirer pour un 5 étoiles tunisien

Das Hotel ist deutlich in die Jahre gekommen. Die Einrichtung müsste erneuert werden, aber die Zimmer sind groß und geräumig. Uns hat vor allem die Animation genervt. Muss es bis 21:00 Uhr Kinderdisco in der Bar geben? Danach noch Kinder-Karaoke für 3-6 Kinder im Alter von 3-10 Jahren, unterstützt von 4 Animateuren. Selbst in der großzügigen Lobby konnte man sich durch Lärm nicht vernünftig unterhalten. Die Lage des Hotels ist top und der Blick aus dem Fenster über den Golfplatz auf Meer entschädigt für viele Mängel. Wir waren zum Golfen angereist, zum Baden wäre es Anfang März auch zu kalt gewesen.

My father who is 84 and walks with a walking stick nearly fell on numerous occasions. There’s random equipment left in the stair wells which is a hazard. The elevators were volatile and some were out of action. The swimming pool was a good size, it was clean and had an area where you could lay down. The spa facilities were not great, average at best. We decided to book some treatments and the massage was good. The drinks are local drinks. If you wanted branded spirits there was an additional surcharge. The hotel is advertised as having 5 restaurants but actually there is the buffet restaurant and one themed restaurant. There was a variety of food, however it was very canteen like. The beach was nice and clean. Unfortunately you get vendors trying to sell you things which leave you unable to relax.

Just returned from this hotel and it wasn’t a good experience, the hotel looks lovely but it’s a different thing once you’re in there. No plates for food, tables full of used dishes, food all over the tables, food not brilliant and very long waits in que for food, staff are rude when you ask them to clear table, no sun loungers anailable by the pool if you don’t put your towel on them at 5am, absolutely ridiculous!! I seen people paying pool staff to keep them sun loungers, towels were left on loungers all day, there are signs everywhere saying you cannot reserve sun loungers with towels…. It was just a free for all. Rooms are nice but we paid for a sea view, which we didn’t get, as we was told the hotel was full. Carpets in the hallways look really dirty and nasty, shop in reception is a rip off, I have been to many hotels in port el kantaoui and I would not return to this hotel, there are better hotels for less money, don’t waste your money on this hotel.

Nous avons réserver une chambre vue mer et nous avons eu vue sur le golf et la mer au loin Pas de piscine extérieur car en travaux, snack inexistant et la piscine intérieur fermée une journée pour travaux Nourriture correcte sauf jus d orange chimique il est coupé avec de la poudre Attention au horaire car tout est enlever 15 mn avant la fin des repas

Great place to stay, delicious food, clean ✨

I'm a frequent traveler. This hotel is definetely not a 5 stars one. I am a hotels.com Platinum member and I did not get any perks. The receptionist did not explain anything and checkin is very slow, service is mediocre and restaurant is very crowded and very noisy. But the best one : booked 3 rooms. We found crockroaches in 2 of them. Pool and food are good, though. Way to go.

The hotel is definitely not a 5* its below 3*. No AC in the hotel apart from the rooms, sensor lights in corridor dont work properly so your walking in the dark. They are short of staff the food is not a 5* either food would finish 1.5hr from strating time and would not be refilled untill u complain, we waited 1 hour and 5min for glasses to be given to us at dinner and the staff give attitude when u keep asling them. Please trust me and the review of people who have mentioned the same thing cos it true to the point. I thought people were being fussy or exaggerated it but believe me they didn't. I would not recommend this hotel at all. Also this hotel overbooks and can not provide rooms as they did this to us. We we booked 9 rooms and was only given 4 so the 1st night we had to share rooms with 6 people sharing one room. I will be calling expedia and complaining about this as we lost out a room for 1 night which we paid for.

The hotel is overrated and like most of 5 star hotels in Tunisia doesn't deserve their 5 star. The AC is not working at all in most of the hotel. The reception is very hot you can't stay there for 5 minutes. You pay very high price but the quality of the service is very low. The food is disgusting. They closed the restaurant a la carte. Only a disgusting buffet. You pay very high price then you don't find a place to stay at the beach if you come late. There is no staff there to help. Only some bootlicker for the foreigner tourists.

The beach was nice and clean. The swimming pool was a good size and had areas were you could lay down which was nice. The rooms were spacious but were in need of renovation and a deep clean. The corridor walls and carpets were horrendous. The corridors are in need of a huge revamp. The energy saving light sensors were very delayed and did not stay on for very long. The hotel was advertised as having 5 restaurants, however there was just the buffet and one themed restaurant. The food was very canteen like and we resorted to either ordering take away or going to other restaurants in the area. The drinks in the bars are local drinks and if you want the branded drinks you need to pay a additional surcharge. The entertainment was ok. The pool tables need servicing. There is a shop on site where you can buy snacks. All in all a very average stay.
