Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Carlsbad

The check out clerk in the morning refused to give me a receipt. He told me he could not do it and that he would have to get his manager to do it for him. What kind of nonsense is that? It sounds more like a scam or something along those lines. Or it sounds like pure laziness.

The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. The drinks and food items by the front desk were well over priced, especially with Walmart being so close. The Tesla chargers were very nice and well maintained. They were also under a bright light so I felt secure with my car slow charging all night! Our carpet in our room had some stains as well as the couch. The lights above our bed were also mismatched. The hotel felt very nice except for a few weird maintenance choices. They mentioned they would only clean the room every 3 days because they were short staffed. I hope they raise wages for the people that work there. Breakfast was wonderful.

Stay was good except to much street noise. . .

Botched room assignment (our reserved room was given to someone else), peeling wallpaper in bathroom (multiple spots), loose floor tiles in bathroom, helpless staff. Couldn't even get water at breakfast.

Stayed in a suite, it was the largest room (and cleanest) of my roadtrip. It was convenient to the national park on the way out of town, but wrong side of town from the dining and shopping options.
