Affordable Suites Conover / Hickory

The outside property was pretty well maintained as well as the rooms although the A/C machine was dusty and dirty I didn't mind but it could cause somebody to have allergies

It was the most beautiful property,no traffic,no ppl in Parking lot all night like most ! Just in general I didn't want to leave!! And we own 2 homes in two states and I'm looking right now to find out if I can get discount. Or heck I don't need money but I wish I'd spoke with the nice lady about if the needed help and I'd except a room for my ppl pay, and if they were unable to do that I loved it ENOUGH I'd pay for my room while I worked! I'm not sure if corporate reads this or that wonderful amazing woman I met that worked at the front desk!?

Beverly was super sweet and did everything she could to make the rip great for us as well as another group who was checking in at the same time. She made sure she got us the rooms we both were requesting and needs were met. Sadly her housekeeper was out so she was trying to run the place and clean at the same time. Room was in good condition. I am sorry about all the boxes and recycle I left due to a shopping trip. Did not see a garbage/recycle bin outside to throw them. Location was a little weird, as it was located near what I guess you would call an industrial or business area. There seemed to be another hotel close by. It was quiet. Roads close by were very dark and turning in was a little nerve-racking on occasion trying to get to the road the hotel was on.

small low frills property that is not staffed 24/7. very low on the room amenities, more like a long term rental room than a hotel. staff was friendly when there.

The pictures shown on Expedia website do not reflect this property. There is no swimming pool and there is no breakfast. The exterior is covered with cigarette butts in particular in front of one room and ashes as well. The room was pleasant but had several lights to include the range and bedroom lamps that did not work. Also, furniture was not straight which did not lead me to believe that proper housekeeping was done. The refrigerator knocks as if the compressor is going bad. And there are parts of my room that needed to be painted.

We were in town for a short family event and needed a place to sleep and eat, which this provided at a reasonable rate. The room could use some updating. There were multiple people hanging out outside who look to be living there as an actual residence rather than a hotel. A little noise but overall it took care of what we needed and we were not there all that much.

Price great but dirty room bugs

I like the concept of having a suite with a full kitchen. However, this suite was not adequately stocked with cooking utensils. When I walked in, a burner light was on and stayed on my entire stay. I tried to see if any stove eyes were hot but I didnt detect any. Instead, there was a stinkbug crawling on the front right largest burner. I tried to kill him. He fell underneath the burner rings. I turned that burner on. A few seconds later, a flash of blue light and a pop occurred. I turned the burner off. I thought the bug was dead. A few sexonds later it turned over and crawled into the hole where the burner turns on. I encountered 3 other stink bugs during my stay. The other 2 i managed to kill. One i. The bathroom and the other on the wall by the bed. The situation with resident clerk or manager was the worst ever. I called before twice before leaving my place to get after hour check-in instructions. She failed to return my call. Upon arrival, I called and eventually she gave me a code to get only a keycard out of a lock box. When I called her to ask for about 30 minutes more to check-out, she was horrible.

Mold all over bathroom and front door. Gnats everywhere. Shower was dirty and had an oily residue. Floors were dirty. Pillow cases dirty.

It was ok the 1st night. A little loud outside,but ok The 2nd night we got in around 930pm and turn the lights on and saw roaches. I called the after hour number and nobody called me back. We left at 930 am the next morning and still no call. It won't let me attach pictures

Room was spacious and comfortable. Smelled fresh and clean. Only problem spider webs under bottom kitchen cupboards. Found 2 bugs crawling on counter and moldy shower curtain.

The owner/manager was nice and the AC worked good but the room was not clean. Trash can in kitchen was full, dirty carpet and couch. Mold along the walls and in the bathroom floor and shower curtain. Only one towel and two wash cloths. Bugs. Housekeeping needs to do a better job!

I liked the property very much. The place was very comfortable and had plenty of room. What I loved most about it that it looks exactly like a real apartment home you can cook plus had a refrigerator in it, plus microwave, closet space, 2 tv's . It was pretty nice I would definitely stsy again.

Room was dated and dirty. TV remote batteries were dead, bathtub plug didn’t work so could not do a bath only a shower. Overall it was run down and all you could smell was pot the whole night from the neighbor rooms. The advertised pricing when checking in was lower than what I paid in advance.

The stay was last minute. This was affordable and convenient. The bedroom is separate from the living room and there's a TV in both. The kitchen has a stove, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster. There's dishes, soap and the toiletries provided. The staff are really respectful and made us feel welcomed. Amy messaged us to ensure we were enjoying our stay. She asked if we needed anything for our stay. I greatly appreciate that. Our stay was great. We didn't experience anyone being loud or disrespectful. It truly was a great place to stay. Thank you!!!

Drawer front had been pulled off and put in a corner with screws and nails sticking out. Tv's did not work. No batteries!!! Mold on the ceiling. Toilet constantly running. And to top it all off, we were double charged.

So many fruits flies in the room. Shower room…water comes out from shower top only ..can’t change to faucet.

This is a little different in the good way from all the ordinary hotel, which I really like it, there was living room separated from the bed room. and it did has kitchen and more like apartment, clean and comfortable which never see in most hotel. That was awesome and thanks

The property manager attempted to charge my credit card as she didn’t notice that i already paid in advance through Expedia. It took her a while to figure it out after calling Expedia, but then she forgot to return my credit card.

Hotel called me and canceled my reservation, only 12 hours before check in. Really caused a huge problem for me, and had to cancel my whole trip. Do yourself a favor and avoid this property at all costs.

The rooms are amazing and the property is more removed from other motels/hotels so it is less conjested and quiet.

How friendly the staff is, from the cleaning people to the manager. When we had issues with the remote control, they fixed it right away. We are planning to come back in the following weeks because I am being treated at Catawba Medical Center, this hotel's location fits our needs it is close to the hospital. Excellent service and good accommodation.
