Another excellent stay at the Country Inn and Suites, Ashland. Sheila at the front desk is a gem and so welcoming. Clean hotel, quiet, next to tons of shopping and dining. Free parking! Great breakfast! Highly recommend!

Our stay there was subpar. The listing on Expedia said there was a pool - even had a picture of a pool. Imagine our surprise when we got there and there was no pool. We decided to buy some cards, take the kids down to the dining area and watch the hockey game while eating pizza and playing cards. It's 6:00 PM - we could barely hear the TV and the staff person came over and asked us to turn down the TV so we wouldn't disturb the guests down the hall. The ice machine in the hallway was making more noise than the TV. The final breaking point was when we asked for an extra pillow for our kids to use who were sleeping on the double sleeper and was told there wasn't an extra pillow in the hotel. I paid a lot for this one night in this hotel and couldn't get an extra pillow for my grandkids to use. I will not be staying at this place again. I almost forgot - the floor in our room was very uneven.

Enjoyed my stay. Easy check in. Room was clean, bed and pillows were comfortable. water was hot with good pressure. Appreciated the ice machine. Used the fitness room a bit and had decent equipment. Breakfast was decent. everything was in working condition. Easy to check out.

The hotel was great. Very clean and convenient to a lot of places. The breakfast is decent and had some good options. Check in and out was very smooth and easy. We used the game room one night andbhad lots of fun. Will definitely stay here again.

We we well aware at the time of our stay that the place was being renovated. But the does not excuse the fact that room was dirty, the curtains having burn holes and the furniture and carpeting having stains. This room was not worth the $270 per night fee. We have stayed here at least twice a year for the past 6 years. It is a shame that the hotel management has allowed this property to get like this.

I stayed at this hotel recently and unfortunately had a negative experience with the cleanliness of the room. As soon as I walked in, I started sneezing, which made me suspect the sheets or room weren’t thoroughly cleaned. It really affected my comfort during the stay. I hope management takes cleanliness more seriously in the future, especially for guests with allergies.

Fantastic hotel on all fronts. the hotel that I had planned to stay at was booked solid so I had to find another locally. I’m SO glad I did. This was much more affordable and the location is just off 95. Rooms and property are spotless, staff is friendly and service oriented, and all the amenities I needed. It’s definitely going to be my go to location when near Richmond or traveling south on Rt 95.

The automatic door closer on the entrance to all the rooms are set to high so each door slams shut behind you. The noise of that from each door closing shut on the floor could be heard in my room all evening. The hallway floors are vinyl rather than carpet so there is nothing to dampen the sound. Get a door contractor in to slow the latch speed down. It's like sleeping at a shooting range!

Room doors slam shut and dont close softly. Hear people late at night coming and goin due to the slamming doors. Air conditioning was very loud. Faucet in the shower was extremely loose.

The hotel was clean. The property was clean. There isn't a lot around the area. A grocery store and a few restaurants. Our internet did not work when we checked in. The front desk told us to call tech support. My husband was on hold for an hour. After they fixed it, it worked for half an hour and went down again. We gave up after that. They need to upgrade their internet. It is not our job as a paying customer to have to deal with their internet. It takes away from our time on vacation. Will not be back to this hotel. We used this chain before and were very disappointed in this one.

The woman who checked us in and out was very personable and friendly. The hotel in general is quite new and very well maintained. We had a King suite which had a separate sitting room with a couch and TV. The mattress was very comfortable and the bathroom was super clean along with the rest of the room. This is the third time we've stayed at this property and we definitely will be back. Easy on and off to I-95 and we stay here every time we go to Richmond Raceway. Put this on your radar if you're headed to the races as it's 10 miles from the track and there's a great Mexican restaurant within walking distance called Mexico no less and their food and staff are awesome. Kudos to the staff at this hotel and we will definitely be back. THANK YOU!!

All aspects of the employees at this hotel were wonderful and extremely helpful. I arrived very late and they left word for every possible desk shift that I was coming. The ease and proximity to get off and back on to 95 was also a bonus.

We had a problem but they refuse to call me to discuss. I tried to deal with it there. The front desk lady was helpful and said that she would have the manager (I believe her name is Jessica) but she did not call me that day. I gave it an additional day but still no call. I called back and got the same front desk lady and she said that she would have Jessica call me. At this time, she still hasn't called. I guess that I need to go up the chain of command.

The staff was wonderful! Check in was a breeze. The room was clean. And spacious. Breakfast in the morning was fresh and well stocked. Would definitely stay again next time. We are in the area.

It was clean and staff was nice BUT the doors make so much noise when they close that we were hearing people until after 11PM. Breakfast was underwhelming I wish they would get some Dark Roast coffee instead of the tasteless stuff the Country Inns put out. Very clean spot though.

It was clean and staff was nice BUT the doors make so much noise when they close that we were hearing people until after 11PM. Breakfast was underwhelming I wish they would get some Dark Roast coffee instead of the tasteless stuff the Country Inns put out. Very clean spot though.

This hotel appeared to be much better than i expected. Our family of 4 stayed overnight on our trip from New York to Florida. It is pretty clean. Lobby area is small but very cute and cozy. Seems all common areas have been recently renovated. But room looked a bit outdated. However our suite was enough spacious and comfortable. It is good just to stay for a night or few. You should not expect resort type hotel service, of course. Receptionists were very nice. Breakfast was fine. Eggs and sausages were tasty. Kids were eager to make waffles but dough dispenser was not there while we arrived at 9.20 am. I asked the kitchen staff if we can make waffles and one not very friendly lady said the breakfast is over at 9.30 and was in rush to remove all other things. Anyway, i still put 4 stars, since price is great, and included parking and breakfast is great addition. Area seems enough safe but we didnt walk anywhere in vicinity.

Good check in, desk team member was friendly & efficient although we did not get our Hotels.com VIP complimentary drinks (had to purchase bottled water at $1/each during our 3 day stay). Room was very clean, bed was comfortable, air conditioner was atrocious, one of the loudest we have had in a long time. Towels were not much better than cheesecloth, thin and very little weave left in them. Breakfast was a big disappointment. No variety from day to day, waffles, eggs and sausage were the only hot offerings. 1 waffle batter, scrambled or egg patty with sausage links or patties repeated for our entire stay (and every day I discovered). Location was convenient with plenty of easy parking.

Nice clean spacious room convenient to I-95 Breakfast for pre-prepped scrambled eggs were buttery and fluffy. I also thought the breakfast sausage despite being turkey were pretty darn good as well

The hotel was newly renovated. The room was spacious and clean and the staff was friendly. The complimentary breakfast had many choices (eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, bagel etc) and all was very good. There are several places to eat close by and it was right off of I-95 making it very convenient. I would definitely stay there again.

I was very impressed with this hotel, the staff was very friendly, I walked to a sports bar close by, and the breakfast included in the morning was fantastic.

The greeting from Bill in the evening and Sheila in the morning was wonderful! All the staff were helpful, friendly and did an amazing job of making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed! The rooms were clean, bathrooms spotless and beds were comfortable. Even the couch in the suite slept well. We were there to spend two days at Kings Dominion and we could not have found a better place to rest after a long day of fun in the heat! I highly recommend this property!!

My wife and I were just looking for an easy, safe, clean place to stop as we road tripped, and this fit the bill perfectly. No complaints. Everything was easy, the staff was friendly, and the facilities were well taken care of. The breakfast was nice and the whole thing was seamless. Definitely recommend staying her.
