Hotel S'Algaret

Arrived to good first impressions. Clean spacious apartment which had been renovated in a lovely calm decor. Smelled lovely. Large bathroom. Walk in shower. All great. ( our bathroom window didn’t shut which did bang in the storm until I tied it up myself) Not enough hangers which seems the norm. Breakfast was adequate but not like the photos in advert. Staff slow at replenishing buffet, few diners but still waiting for orange juice, Pastries etc to be filled. Nice eating area. Only niggle was tea/coffee making facilities. Water. Coffee pod and kettle in foyer. No cups. Kettle missing for a few days. Water machine never working. who wants to get dressed and go down to make a coffee to enjoy early morning on balcony? 2cups and a small kettle in each room would make so much more sense. The pool area lovely with some nice furniture. 2 big downsides for our stay/ the property facing balcony was having major refurbishment. Machines. Diggers and drills from 8-6 meant no enjoyment of outdoor space. Not the hotels fault and Obviously this will come to an end. The other issue was a large dog in a pen next door.Barked constantly throughout the day. You could hear it all around the port. Had to keep the door shut for both issues which was a shame as on the Sunday the pool area was very peaceful. Location perfect for Fornells. Slight boggles would prevent me from returning.

Such a lovely surprise! This small family run hotel, currently undergoing renovations, is quiet, welcoming and very well maintained. The room and facilities were clean, and the pool was spotless and really enjoyable. The location in Fornells is also fantastic : a charming little fishing village with parking nearby, making it very convenient for exploring the island. A special mention to the staff, who were absolutely lovely and incredibly helpful, both in person and via WhatsApp, no matter what time we contacted them. We also really appreciated the little touches, such as the water dispenser at the entrance and the complimentary tea and coffee. We actually felt much more comfortable and “at home” here than in two other, more highly rated and well-known hotels we stayed at during our trip to Menorca! The only small downside was breakfast. I was expecting a buffet with a wider selection, especially more savoury options. In reality, you choose one dish from the menu, while bread, croissants, etc. are still available as self-service. Apart from that, everything was perfect. A simple, charming and welcoming place that I would definitely recommend and I would happily stay here again on my next trip to Menorca! ☀️

Location is really good with some local supermarkets and restaurants. A/C was noisy even in night mode and could keep cold. Not sure if was just in our room. Outside swimming pool is ok. Breakfast could have more variety. Bonus points: water machine to refill bottles with cold water.
