This is a very nice facility, with newly remodeled rooms and updated furnishings. The AC was great. The room was large, clean and included great beds. The service was friendly and efficient. They provided ample ice and a very nice breakfast, complete with waffles. The Saturday night cruisers were a bit loud on the street, but otherwise it was a quiet night and a great stay.

The exterior is very run down. Terrible breakfast. The room interior is quite good, however...so if you get past the exterior and don't care about breakfast, it's ok.

The Sage Motel is an older property, and I gave it high dcores because the problems were outside the control of the innkeepers. Literally. There is a lot of noise. Most of it comes from being on the main highway, with no buffers. We fixed it by turning on the AC. The other noise comes from other guests (I think) sitting outside the rooms, not necessarily in front of the room. I don't think the people were sketchy; just tired and dirty from exploring Dinosaur National Park or other high desert activities. Lots of restaurants nearby, and it shows that the town of Vernal has put a lot of effort into redevelopment. Room itself was old but renovated. The bed was super cute. Frontier meets four poster. Just a lot of limitations on what can be done. Breakfast was good and basic.

Top of my worst stays list. Room was dirty, there was trash and items left from previous stay under nightstand. We left at 3:00am as the people above had a kid running non-stop. We could not sleep. Asked the front desk to assist and they said they would. They did not. I asked for another room and they said we could not move. For safety concerns we did jot stay.

Nice local motel. Great price compared to other properties in the area. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. In cute downtown area && walking distance to many local restaurants. Light continental breakfast included. Beds were comfortable.

This is a humble property. We arrived late and found it dirty. The bed was good and the bedding was clean. The floors and toilet base were very dirty. We asked for another room or to have this one cleaned while we were out. There was an effort made. The rug in front of the bed and a small portion of baseboards were cleaned. It was apparent the room cleaners did not know how to clean and sanitize the room. Second day there was no room service. We had to retrieve clean towels. This will be on our list of places not to visit again.

Price was cheaper than other options. Building is old, room was not clean (dirty tv remotes, stain on conforter, fridge smelled terrible, etc.). Things didn’t work (blinds broken, A/C rattled, and one of the lamps wouldn’t turn on), and internet was so slow it was unusable (tested at <1.0 mbps consistently in the evenings). Found a homeless man sleeping in the laundry/ice room one of the nights. Will not stay here again!

Disappointingly, there was no toilet paper in the bathroom (no roller on wall). Soap and shampoo were extremely budget (shampoo in single serving tear open pouches). bed was OK. Air conditioning is essentially ineffective. I blew air but was not consistently cold.

So far so good! Just checked in a few hours ago, but the staff was super friendly, switching rooms so mine could be near my friend’s. The bed is comfy and the room is nice and fairly priced. The hotel is right near /in downtown, so it’s nice to be close to a lot of dining and entertainment and shopping options.

Great place for traveling on a budget. It’s convenient to shopping and dining but it’s in a noisy area. There was only one night stand and one lamp. It was difficult to figure out where to put things or to plug in electronics. Pedestal sink so no place to put things like toothpaste or toothbrushes. The room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Sort of a desk but it was too tall for the chair. The manager was super! She was so nice, it made staying here worth the inconveniences. Great for the price.

Let me start by saying that the staff was super nice, helpful and professional. While this is a budget hotel and there were some good things, the few bad things kind of killed the positives. The bed was terrible. A low end, old budget mattress that the put a 2" soft foam "topper" on. This only served to fold up and it felt like sleeping in a hammock. Other things were smaller issues, like no shelf or anything like that in the shower (so everything needed to sit on the shower floor) and some minor repairs needed to be done. However, they did make an obvious effort to modernize the rooms and it was very clean. The show itself was new, there were outlets available to plug things into and it had modern hard flooring. If it were not for the bed, I'd increase a star but let's face it, the bed is one of the most important parts of the hotel room. The staff is what keeps it up to 3 stars (otherwise it would be 2).

Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. This was my second time here, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The smoke shop on site is very cool. Lots of wonderful gift ideas there. It is an older hotel and could use some upgrading, but it is a wonderful place overall.

I’m not sure about other reviews, but I found the hotel very charming. It reminded me about our childhood travels. Sure the place looks like it’s stuck in the 80’s, but i was raised in that era, so I was in my happy place. The place felt clean, the bed was comfy and so were the pillows. No outside noise, plenty of parking and a nice simple breakfast. Loved the small town of Vernal, so the location was perfect to enjoy the town, everything was walking distance. Would definitely book it again!

So far so good! Just checked in a few hours ago, but the staff was super friendly, switching rooms so mine could be near my friend’s. The bed is comfy and the room is nice and fairly priced. The hotel is right near /in downtown, so it’s nice to be close to a lot of dining and entertainment and shopping options.

Great place for traveling on a budget. It’s convenient to shopping and dining but it’s in a noisy area. There was only one night stand and one lamp. It was difficult to figure out where to put things or to plug in electronics. Pedestal sink so no place to put things like toothpaste or toothbrushes. The room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Sort of a desk but it was too tall for the chair. The manager was super! She was so nice, it made staying here worth the inconveniences. Great for the price.

This is a very nice facility, with newly remodeled rooms and updated furnishings. The AC was great. The room was large, clean and included great beds. The service was friendly and efficient. They provided ample ice and a very nice breakfast, complete with waffles. The Saturday night cruisers were a bit loud on the street, but otherwise it was a quiet night and a great stay.

Cheap hotel, linen clean, room not filthy but could have been cleaner. No TP holder, just sat roll on back of toilet. Lots of noise from the main street. Breakfast was lackluster.

The exterior is very run down. Terrible breakfast. The room interior is quite good, however...so if you get past the exterior and don't care about breakfast, it's ok.

The Sage Motel is an older property, and I gave it high dcores because the problems were outside the control of the innkeepers. Literally. There is a lot of noise. Most of it comes from being on the main highway, with no buffers. We fixed it by turning on the AC. The other noise comes from other guests (I think) sitting outside the rooms, not necessarily in front of the room. I don't think the people were sketchy; just tired and dirty from exploring Dinosaur National Park or other high desert activities. Lots of restaurants nearby, and it shows that the town of Vernal has put a lot of effort into redevelopment. Room itself was old but renovated. The bed was super cute. Frontier meets four poster. Just a lot of limitations on what can be done. Breakfast was good and basic.

I only stayed one night but was happy with the cleanliness and size of the room. It had a nice leather (or leather looking) sofa, a working fridge, a small microwave, and a TV with a decent selection of cable channels. The bathroom was small but it worked for me. The motel is conveniently located downtown so easy to walk to local businesses and restaurants. There is a window air conditioning unit and that sound did not bother me, but people should be aware. If you are on the end of the motel close to main street you will likely hear some traffic noise, so the air conditioning helped to provide a cover noise to some extent. I left before any breakfast so can't comment on that aspect.

The hotel was small. It was semi clean. The beds were comfortable, but no ice machine and no air-conditioning in our room. Did not work We had a portable air conditioner that was insufficient for the size of the room so it was hot all night. They didn’t tell us that when we booked it. because the window had to be open for the portable air conditioner, there were bugs in the room

This modest motel was everything we wanted: a comfortable bed, quiet at night, very clean, and a well functioning mini fridge. Room was more spacious than expected. The continental breakfast with good coffee was a nice touch for the price point. Overall we thought it was a good value and well located to several good places to eat.
