Monastero San Silvestro

Excellent spacious apartments,very clean comfortable beds. Very close to supermarket and 5 min drive from Cortona . Would definitely stay again, excellent value .

It was a lovely property, well situated near Cortona and Camucia. The Conad, grocery store is abour 2km away and there is a large market day in Camucia with some good food options,, although it's mostly clothing being sold. Our only complaint really was the lack of a shower curtain in the bath, making it difficult to property wash without soaking the floor. One was once there, but all that remained were the mounting holes on the wall. Otherwise, it was a lovely quiet property.

The receptionists were all very helpful and friendly. I did not find the town very welcoming to foreigners. We have three kids and it seemed frowned upon at the restaurants we went to. We’ve been all over Italy and it’s the first time we experienced this with our kids. Cortona needs to be a touch more accommodating to our-of-towners. Monastero San Silvestro is a place I would return to in a heartbeat. It’s charming and quiet and peaceful.

What a beautiful hidden treasure this turned out to be. Beautiful rooms and the grounds are immaculate. With Cortona just minutes away by car it was the perfect choice. If your looking for Villa Laura from Under a Tuscan Sun it’s only 500 meters away. Book this as a couple or as a family you won’t be disappointed. Can’t wait to go back with the family.
