This is a wonderful place for biking the root river trail. Nice room- fabulous breakfast. Kind and helpful staff. Locked shed for bikes- and electricity to charge ebike. Staff so very helpful. We will be back in the fall!!

Fabulous location in Lanesboro, the hub of the Root River bike trail. All the rooms are unique. Loved our bicycle suite. Good continental breakfast with local pastries and scones. They have a locked bike shed for easy and safe bike storage. The town itself has lots of restaurants and a small theatre for local live theatre. Fun place we will definitely go back.

Lovely little place with interesting rooms. Certainly quirky and not handicap accessible but it is a very old building. Staff was lovely and reached out to see if I needed a late check in. Loved that they actually showed me the room and how everything worked (air conditioning/TV). Slept wonderfully and the muffins/scones from the bakery down the street are amazing. Had our coffee/scone sitting on the front porch watching it rain - perfect! Will defiantly stay here again when we are in Lanesboro, but will stay more than one night next time….

My husband and i loved that there was a place to store our bikes when we were not using them.The Room was clean and very cool looking. Bed was ok. Breakfast could have been better. Over all great stay. We would go back.

The location has walkable access to the many shops, restaurants, and bars that Lanesboro offers. Right across the street from Sylvan Brewery. Very short distance to biking paths. Property owners are very chill and friendly. Okay to sit on the front patio with cooler and enjoy some beverages. Rocking chairs on patio very comfortable along with beautiful flowers.

Every morning from 7-9 AM in the common area, there is a lovely brunch served. They have fresh fruit, cereal, fresh pastries (from a local bakery, the caramel rolls were still warm when they were served), milk, coffee, tea, and various juices. And don't forget the gift shop, it was wonderful. Thank you for our wonderful getaway. We'll be back!

Comfortable bed. Unique building. Walkable to everything in town. Great morning breakfast. Super clean. Could use a comfortable chair in the room. Stairs going up to the room were a little dangerous for older folks but understand it is an old building.

We loved the historical vibe of this hotel with the amazing way the hotel was established from an old feed mill. Everything was very clean and comfortable, especially the bed! The continental breakfast was par for hotel fare except for the amazing pastries brought in fresh everyday from the bakery up the street. Delicious! We would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a relaxing spot after a beautiful bikebtt try ide on the Root River Trail.

Loved our room. The bathroom was really nice and clean. The water was really soft! We asked for extra pillows and sheets for the pull out sofa bed and they had everything we needed. Thank you for such a great stay!

The staff was friendly and mostly fine. Check in was fine. My complaints are the bed was like sleeping on the floor it was so hard....it took 20 mins to get water hot enough to take a shower...luke warm doesn't cut it in my book....we heard everything from every room around us all night long...after a restless night when asked about our stay I informed them of what I just mentioned and the reply was "no one has ever complained about that before"....have a hard time believing that was true.....room was not worth what we paid....will not be staying there again...

Unique rooms with a stone wall and open ceiling with timber wood. Very comfortable bed. Quiet place for sleeping. All the amenities you’ll need. Staff was very informative about the rooms and the area. We stayed off season so they had a list of restaurants that were open with current hours. Highly recommend!

I like the fact that you could still see the architecture in the old mill on the inside. The thick stone walls and beamed ceilings are so impressive. We had one of the loft rooms and loved the roominess. We are planning to go back again. The owners and staff will do anything to meet your needs.

Stone Mill Suites is a great property! This is the 2nd time we’ve stayed here; we were in the Amish room which has a queen bed and a daybed. This room also has its own private entrance from the outside, in addition to having an entrance from inside. Highly recommend this place for your visit to Lanesboro!!

Such a warm welcome when I arrived! My room was absolutely charming - it was in the Feed Mill with a lovely stone wall, wooden beams, and high ceiling. It also had a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. The light breakfast included hard boiled eggs, yogurt, coffee, and scrumptious pastries made at a local shop. But best of all was chatting with the host. It was a wonderful weekend.

Enjoyed our stay very much at Stone Mill. Only note is the Boat Room is closest to the dining area- so if you are not an early riser, don’t book this particular room. Breakfast is served 7-9am, and you do hear some of the noise from the dining area. Many other rooms to choose from though!

Over all a very good stay. Very nice towels, hot tub works well, staff came to thevroom and explaing how the electronics worked. Breakfast included Danishes from a local bakery. I rated it a 3 for comfort because the bed in our room, the Egg suite, was way TOO FIRM. It was in good condition but was very, very hard and uncomfortable. I cant speak for any other suites.

Staff that feels like family, there to greet you, show you around, and make sure you are comfortable at every opportunity. Building is historic, so expect som e rustic charm. Room was fantastic. Just a few yards from the brewery, where you will find more kind and welcoming folks. We will return!

Staff does their job above expectations. This Hotel from cleanliness of the Carpet to the upkeep of the bathrooms are above majority of other Hotels. This Hotel is so well kept in the years that have past it don't show deterioration of the property.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. it has more of a "homey" atmosphere. everyone was very nice. the breakfast was awesome and well stocked. If you are staying in Lanesboro, don't bother looking at any other hotel. this is where you will want to be.

I was in town to do some work for a business in Preston. There are very few lodging options nearby, and I discovered Stone Mill. It is a small facility with limited staff, but they still made my very late check-in very easy. The staff was super friendly, and the room was simple by comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous location in Lanesboro, the hub of the Root River bike trail. All the rooms are unique. Loved our bicycle suite. Good continental breakfast with local pastries and scones. They have a locked bike shed for easy and safe bike storage. The town itself has lots of restaurants and a small theatre for local live theatre. Fun place we will definitely go back.

Staff that feels like family, there to greet you, show you around, and make sure you are comfortable at every opportunity. Building is historic, so expect som e rustic charm. Room was fantastic. Just a few yards from the brewery, where you will find more kind and welcoming folks. We will return!

The location has walkable access to the many shops, restaurants, and bars that Lanesboro offers. Right across the street from Sylvan Brewery. Very short distance to biking paths. Property owners are very chill and friendly. Okay to sit on the front patio with cooler and enjoy some beverages. Rocking chairs on patio very comfortable along with beautiful flowers.

The property is in a great location. The room was comfortable. This was early in the season, but I wish that they had breakfast and coffee at the hotel instead of giving a voucher for breakfast.

Comfortable bed. Unique building. Walkable to everything in town. Great morning breakfast. Super clean. Could use a comfortable chair in the room. Stairs going up to the room were a little dangerous for older folks but understand it is an old building.

For a B&B I was extremely disappointed in the breakfast portion of the stay, especially given the price of the room. They offered only cold continental (basically a few pastries, instant oatmeal, and hard boiled eggs you peel yourself). Also, they neglected to state that the entire city is mostly closed down in the winter months so there was much in the way of food for other meals without having to travel a fairly long distance.

Very nice stay. This was our second time staying here. The stairs to the bed were a little inconvenient for us as we are both in our 70’s. No breakfast due to off season but they gave $5 coupons to a cafe with an excellent breakfast. We will be back.

We loved the historical vibe of this hotel with the amazing way the hotel was established from an old feed mill. Everything was very clean and comfortable, especially the bed! The continental breakfast was par for hotel fare except for the amazing pastries brought in fresh everyday from the bakery up the street. Delicious! We would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a relaxing spot after a beautiful bikebtt try ide on the Root River Trail.

My husband and i loved that there was a place to store our bikes when we were not using them.The Room was clean and very cool looking. Bed was ok. Breakfast could have been better. Over all great stay. We would go back.

Stone Mill was a fabulous getaway for my husband and me. It's clean, inviting, and if you're a history enthusiast like us, you'll love staying here. Every morning from 7-9 AM in the common area, there is a lovely brunch served. They have fresh fruit, cereal, fresh pastries (from a local bakery, the caramel rolls were still warm when they were served), milk, coffee, tea, and various juices. And don't forget the gift shop, it was wonderful. Thank you for our wonderful getaway. We'll be back!

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. it has more of a "homey" atmosphere. everyone was very nice. the breakfast was awesome and well stocked. If you are staying in Lanesboro, don't bother looking at any other hotel. this is where you will want to be.

We stayed for 2 nights and rode the Root River Trail. This place was great. They had a locked shed for our bikes and electricity in the shed so we could charge the bikes overnight. Walking distance to all of Lanesboro. Would definitely stay here again.

My error was picking this "girlie boutique" type hotel: I thought my wife would like it but she wasn't a fan either. The hotel lacks an elevator and a fire escape. The wood ceiling is unknown as to its fire resistance. The continental breakfast is missing items like eggs and sausages. It is definitely "creative" -- making a hotel in an old grain mill but it lacked the sort of things I look for in a hotel (I'm 74 and Deb is 69). The stairway to the floor that our room was on was steep and the tread depth of about 6 inches made climbing it difficult. Our room was tiny and the sink in the bedroom instead of the bathroom was an oddity. The bed could use reading laps on both sides instead of just one and there was no clock in the room.
