Check in was slow- waited a long time to be served. Room very basic. Hostel like quality - beds not particularly comfortable. No AC. No fridge. No TV. Small sink in room. Toilets and showers shared - one set on corridor. No kitchen or TV room on floor (or that we could find). No explanation of facilities available in residence block or on campus. Was not worth the money. My husband actually said he would rather have slept in the car. Only positive - free parking close to accommodations.

Check-in was terrible - very confusing, and the receptionist had poor English (not her fault in a predominantly French province, but surprising given that a lot of guests will not speak French). We were told we had to pay extra for a parking permit, and were sent on a wild goose chase around the huge campus to pay for and get a permit. The building we were sent to was completely wrong and no-one knew anything - so we gave up and went into the city for sightseeing given our limited time. We came back that evening to sort out parking - a different lady at reception with better English told us we had to scan a QR code in the parking lot where we were staying (about 1km from reception) and download an app and pay for parking on the app (very different instructions to what we were told before). She said it would cost $5 and we were given an 8-character discount code to qualify for 50% discount. We drove to our accommodation building/parking lot, downloaded the app - the parking cost was $17.50 and the discount code invalid - it needed to be 6 characters. It was too late (reception closed at 9pm) and we didn't want to risk having our car impounded by the company that patrols the car park, so we had little choice but to pay $17.50. We had no energy to go to reception the next day and try to explain what happened and fight for a refund. Very poor service. Other than that, the room was great. If you're fluent in French, this is a great place to stay.

It’s a great place for the price! It’s in a quiet area, clean, and both the front desk staff as well as room service are polite and professional. It is essentially a dorm with a shared bathroom among the hallway, but superb for the price!

The room was basic, but fine. The main disappointment was the kitchen. We specifically selected this property to be able to fix a quick dinner or make coffee in the morning. While there is a kitchen (in the basement, which was hard to find and no signs or instructions provided), there's absolutely no utensils to borrow, nothing; can't even boil water. There is one fridge in the kitchen, but it's (as a student told us) "for donations". The food left there one evening was no longer there in the morning. This is terrible.

Bare bones place to spend the night in transit. There is a sink in the room and then the toilets and showers are communal. We stayed there on both ends of our trip and found that it makes a difference which building you are placed in. This stay was fine, but our other stay not so much. Pavillon Ernest-Lemieux was clean and adequate. There is a coin-operated coffee machine and vending machines in the common room. Note there is no air conditioning and it was quite hot the night we spent there.

I was very happy with this budget travel option. It's great if you want a private room at hostel prices. The room was small but clean and comfortable and close to shared washrooms which were basic but clean. As it is on the university campus there is a jolly student atmosphere but it was very quiet. The only thing that woke me up briefly in the night (at dawn) were some crows cawing outside my window! There is a very frequent bus service that takes you right through to Vieux Quebec in 15-20 minutes, but I was glad I had bought tickets in advance so I didn't have to worry about change. The check-in was very friendly.

À mon arrivée, les indications du commis n’étaient pas claires pour trouver le bâtiment. Dans la chambre, il y avait des cheveux par terre, comme si le balai n'avait pas été passer depuis bien longtemps. Une cuisine est disponible, mais aucune vaisselle, aucune chaudron ou instrument de cuisine pour l’utiliser adéquatement. Les douches n’étaient pas particulièrement propres non plus, tout comme les toilettes avec des traces de pipi sur la lunette. Très décevant, j’avais pourtant déjà séjourné là et l’expérience avait été totalement différente.

The place is old ( it’s a university dorm) and was very , very clean . However , my 14 year old daughter said she saw a small cockroach climbing down the wall . If we didn’t see that the ratings would be higher . I really wish I could give it a higher rating because it’s an excellent idea. Also they should increase the frequency of people inspecting for garbage at the entrance , and stairway area. Room for improvement , very do-able .

Le couchage est bon et la propreté de la chambre et des espaces communs ( couloirs, sanitaires et cuisines) est assurée par un personnel irréprochable. Il faut s'habituer au bruit des portes qui claquent dans le couloir et à l'absence de ventilation suffisante pour rafraîchir la chambre en été, mais ces 2 points mis à part, le séjour est parfait à tout niveau et le rapport qualité-prix est imbattable. Je recommande vivement et remercie l'établissement pour la qualité de ces prestations hôtelières.

When we arrived in our room, the garbage hadn’t been emptied, there were used towels inn3 different places in the room, white powder on the counter. There was also a lot of noise outside the building until 3am, yelling and singing and the room was right next to the common bathroom, so the pipes made a huge noise every time someone in the building used the toilet. We left at 4am, since we were still up.

The rooms had a strong unpleasant smell, which really affected the comfort of our stay and while the amenities were well maintained, they were shared, which wasn’t ideal. The check-in process was also quite slow. Overall, not the best experience.

Rooms are tiny with uncomfortable beds. You must share a washroom and shower facility with others which means that the noise of others in the facility leaving their rooms and returning echoes throughout the night. Not a single air conditioner in the whole building and very poor ventilation which means that during a heat wave it is like sleeping in a greenhouse.

We stayed in the room with two twin beds, and we do not recommend it. It looked more like a prison cell than a room rental. There was no air conditioning or fan, and only small windows that opened, so the room temperature was over 30 degrees. The walls are very thin and everything can be heard from the rooms nearby and in the hallway. As well, our room was next to the washroom and every time a toilet flushed there was a loud screeching sound. The price may be ideal, but this was a bad stay for us.

Doors are not soundproof. Noisy during the evening time due students loudly enjoying their life in campus. Good location, public bus stop next to the campus, buses going every 12 minutes, after 15 minutes ride you are in historical center.

an excellent hosteling / university stay choice at a budget. the room was clean as was the shared bathrooms, quarters are from an earlier time for sure, but we got a room on the north side and was able to take advantage of the windows to keep the room cool. we enjoyed the use of the pool table, and the pyramid was in walkable distance. check-in was great, and parking wasn't an issue.

Check-in was terrible - very confusing, and the receptionist had poor English (not her fault in a predominantly French province, but surprising given that a lot of guests will not speak French). We were told we had to pay extra for a parking permit, and were sent on a wild goose chase around the huge campus to pay for and get a permit. The building we were sent to was completely wrong and no-one knew anything - so we gave up and went into the city for sightseeing given our limited time. We came back that evening to sort out parking - a different lady at reception with better English told us we had to scan a QR code in the parking lot where we were staying (about 1km from reception) and download an app and pay for parking on the app (very different instructions to what we were told before). She said it would cost $5 and we were given an 8-character discount code to qualify for 50% discount. We drove to our accommodation building/parking lot, downloaded the app - the parking cost was $17.50 and the discount code invalid - it needed to be 6 characters. It was too late (reception closed at 9pm) and we didn't want to risk having our car impounded by the company that patrols the car park, so we had little choice but to pay $17.50. We had no energy to go to reception the next day and try to explain what happened and fight for a refund. Very poor service. Other than that, the room was great. If you're fluent in French, this is a great place to stay.

La chambre a atteint les attentes. Propre et confortable. L’attente pour faire l’enregistrement a été très long. 25min au téléphone à attendre d’avoir la ligne pour pouvoir accéder au bâtiment pour ensuite se rendre au comptoir d’accueil. Je vais y retourner quand même étant donné le bon rapport qualité-prix, mais j’espère que l’accueil sera plus efficace la prochaine fois.

The entire experience was unique. Upon check in we were assigned a room which was still occupied by two guests. We were reassigned a second room in another building nearby. We were given a parking pass for our vehicle and told we should park behind the building at parking lot # 2 for which there was no discernable parking sign, only signs that we could see for lots 1 & 3. We ended up parking in front of the other building. We expected the room to be modest as it was in a university dormitory, however; we did not realize upon booking that there was no air conditioning in the room. The ambient room temperature was like a sauna. Upon opening the two windows, moths & insects attracted to the light flew into the room as there was only one screen for one of the two windows. Upon mitigating the insects in the room we were forced to close the screenless window & endure the heat. Even a cold shower from the shared washrooms was not sufficient for a good nights sleep in the sweat box. I would definitely have appreciated a heads up in the room amenities section of the booking website, that rooms don't have air conditioning. Note: there are heaters in the rooms. It is true you get what you pay for & in this case a good price, but a sleepless night. In hind sight we would have made a different choice of accomodations. Kind Regards John

La procédure d'accueil et d'enregistrement est absolument déplorable et fastidieuse. Doors are not soundproof. Noisy during the evening time due students loudly enjoying their life in campus. Good location, public bus stop next to the campus, buses going every 12 minutes, after 15 minutes ride you are in historical center.

The location was perfect for a week of lecture at the University. The tunnel system permitted me to walk to my classes without going outside in the snow. Unfortunately, my room was next to a Shared Bathroom with a noisy door. The room was spacious and comfortable. Ideal for visiting students.

The room was basic, but fine. The main disappointment was the kitchen. We specifically selected this property to be able to fix a quick dinner or make coffee in the morning. While there is a kitchen (in the basement, which was hard to find and no signs or instructions provided), there's absolutely no utensils to borrow, nothing; can't even boil water. There is one fridge in the kitchen, but it's (as a student told us) "for donations". The food left there one evening was no longer there in the morning. This is terrible.

Bare bones place to spend the night in transit. There is a sink in the room and then the toilets and showers are communal. We stayed there on both ends of our trip and found that it makes a difference which building you are placed in. This stay was fine, but our other stay not so much. Pavillon Ernest-Lemieux was clean and adequate. There is a coin-operated coffee machine and vending machines in the common room. Note there is no air conditioning and it was quite hot the night we spent there.

The bed was not too clean. The dining area is located on the bottom floor, and was very inconvenient to go down everytime if I had to heat food. Plus, it has a shared fridge that is very small. Me and my friends had put our respective food in the shared fridge one night and the next morning everything was gone when we went to check. Shared area does not feel safe.

You can’t beat the price! And the location is pretty good as well — there is a huge shopping mall across the street with a food court and many other restaurants. I did not use public transportation, but there were a lot of buses coming and going. You register for your room in one of the newer dormitory buildings and, in my case, you drive a little ways to a different dormitory (much older and worn out) where your room is. The shower room and toilets are down the hall from your room in the building I was in (the cheapest room available, twin bed). Don’t expect any hotel amenities here and you won’t be disappointed! Most of the pictures on the reservation app appear to be for the much fancier and more expensive rooms that didn’t even show up as a possibility to reserve when I was on the app so I am not sure why they show pictures of rooms that are not what you are getting. These more expensive rooms do show up on the website for these university accommodations and are still cheaper than a “real” hotel in Quebec City, but certainly much more than the $50 a night rooms in the old and tired building that I experienced. The older building is a square with a central courtyard. If you keep on going eventually you’ll find your room! Nous avons été déçus à notre arrivée car la chambre ne correspondait pas aux photos de la réservation. Honnêtement, ce n'est pas correct de louer une chambre aussi sommaire avec un lit de camp ! Il serait correct de prévenir les clients dès la réservation.
