This is our second time staying here. We come to Japan every few years because my wife loves the snow monkeys. The staff here was very helpful and communicated clearly. They'll arrange shuttle pickup from the Yadanaka local station because it can be hard to find of you're not familiar with the area. You really should get the half board and do traditional Japanese breakfast and breakfast. It is a peaceful and intimate look into traditional Japan. You can see the pride taken in the work. We will stay here every time we come to Japan.

Amazing old school Japanese hotel. Built by a railroad company almost a 100 years ago; the train you take there was built to get to this hotel. Artwork from the 1600’s on display. Staff shook my hand when I checked out. Even had beautiful stationery in the room; your iPhone spellcheck doesn’t even recognize that word anymore

Loved our experience here! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend booking with the half board plan so that you have breakfast AND dinner included as dinner options in the area are scare from what we observed. Meals were delicious. 30 min walk to snow monkey park - and the walk is stunning. Both the public onsen and both private onsens at the hotel were wonderful. Would stay here again!

The snow monkeys were within walking distance. The rooms were large, and the views were beautiful. Communication with staff is complicated.
