Riverside Motel

Our stay at The Riverside was pleasant. The pool was cleaned daily and well maintained and clean. The BBQ area also was well maintained. Our room was clean however I feel that some things could have used some improvement. They are minor and can be overcome however I felt that the kitchen could have been better stocked with a toaster and more utensils. Other than that and only having two sets of towels in a room that slept the 6 people, (we did aske for more towels and they did come by with more); I would stay at the Riverside again.

Well taken care of property and pool. Nice tables and chairs around pool. Room has lots of amenities. Our fav place to stay in Penticton.

Great for the price we paid. We loved having pool access and a bbq to grill on was nice. Bonus if you have an EV they have a charger for use while staying there that I dont think has additional charges. Our kids had a great time

The pool was easily accessible, clean and provided hours of entertainment. Parking was easy. Property was well kept.

Classic lakeside motel, with enough current upgrades to make it awesome. Nice pool, rooms were really big and comfortable. Lots of parking and room around the motel.

The property was good all around. The pool was open and warm but i did not have a suit.

The room has been renovated on the cheap with kitchen cupboards hand painted. Cleanliness was poor, hair, dirt and dust behind and around the toilet. Dust on the heating ducts looks like they are never cleaned. Dark long hairs in bath and sink. Attention to detail in the cleaning is not there

The staff was very nice, but the room was disappointing. There was not a curtain or window shade on the front window, so everyone walking by had a clear view into our room. So no privacy for us considering we were on the ground floor. Also, the large window shade on the sliding doors facing the pool was broken, so it was stuck down and the bottom was very sharp. We brought this up to staff and we were told they knew about it, however nothing mentioned to fix it by the staff. My family all sustained cuts on our legs from trying to squeeze past the window shade to go through the sliding doors to the pool. The ceiling fan in the bedroom had about an inch of dirt on it, and the couch had a great deal of dirt on the floor underneath it. The fridge didn’t keep our items cold, however the freezer worked. We have 3 small children that we bath at night, and the bathtub was so bubbled on the bottom that it was very sharp and painful for my kids to bathe in. Oh, and there was an ant infestation, to the point that there were hundreds of ants all over the bathroom and kitchen/living room floor. The floors are also not level, so it felt like we were sleeping inverted. The dishes in the cabinets were also dirty and we had to wash everything before we used it. The staff was very nice and the pool and outdoor area was great, but the room was filthy and in very bad shape. Much need of renovations and structural corrections to floors.

We stayed at this place in Penticton because we were leaving early the next morning to start a 6 day drive to Toronto and our furniture had already been picked up by the movers. We thought a good night’s sleep would be a necessity since all we had were air mattresses. It was a huge disappointment. The room had a foul smell as soon as soon as we opened the door. The floors were dirty (my socks were filthy from walking around the room -see photos attached). The bathroom could have used a good cleaning and the television didn’t work. On the very small plus side, the bed was comfortable, so that was a good thing. I’d avoid the Riverside Motel if you’re heading to Penticton. There are many other motels on Lake Okanagan that I’m sure would be better.

Every time I come to Penticton as a solo traveller, I stay at the Riverside Motel. The rooms are super clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. The staff are so hospitable and the pool is an amazing touch! Always look forward to visiting.

Very clean n good staff

Thie Riverside listed their property as recently renovated only 2 years ago. Upon arrival and inspection of our room we found our tub dirty with soap scum buildup around where the water line would be. The toilet had not been cleaned on the floor behind and there was hair and dirt and potentially pee. The tub was also covered in pink soap scum and water build up around the silicone seal and tile grout lines and had clearly not been wiped down in a long time. The "Renovation" they boasted about in the listing consisted of tiling the bathroom, replacing the flooring, and painting the old surfaces. The flooring was horrendous and hazardous and click vinyl planks had been installed over an uneven and dipping base floor and in places you could step on a plank and it was cracked and in a hole like a pot hole a good 1.5 inches deep. Overall not the experience we were expecting and defintely not a place we will be back to.

Riverside Motel is a decent place to stay for an affordable price. I had a king room with a kitchenette; the bed was comfortable, the room was clean. The motel and room is dated, which seems to be common for Penticton but I was pleased with the price and accommodation. My two issues I had while staying there, the walls are thin and you can hear everyone else - Inside or outside, you can hear everything. So bring earplugs. Second, my room had nothing to use to cook in the oven. I wanted to heat some food and couldn’t because there were no pans for the oven. Each kitchenette unit should have the proper pots and pans for the stove and oven. That’s the point of getting a kitchenette.

Was convenient for us because of the activities planned. In walking distance to beach, great food, and activities. However, the air conditioning was loud, and so were the guests. We heard the people above us and at pool side until late. Which didnt work for young kids.

Needed place for nearby hiking. Bonus separate room for 2nd bed. Comfortable bed , quiet all night after 1030 pm or so. Stayed a second night.

The motel is nicely situated within minutes of the lake. The room was clean. The only drawback with having a king size bed is that there is only one bedside table (a common occurrence where motels are trying to accommodate the king sized bed in rooms that were not built for them). Very minor quibble and not a deal breaker for sure. Could use a fan/extractor in bathroom and over stove. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Room was large and clean. The floor has a definite slope! We thought it was us, after a long drive. Reception Staff was pleasant. Room had a full kitchen we didn’t mean to choose. Sliding door out the pool, but we didn’t use it.

This is an older fully renovated motel from the 60s, the type of place my parents took me. Every suite is poolside or overlooks it. Lots of kids having fun, but when the pool shuts down it's dead quiet and the beds are comfy. Two short blocks (or less) to the beach.

Room renovated very nicely! The unit is just like 1BR apartment - one bed in an individual separate bedroom, one bed in a living room, and a full kitchen with all kitchen necessities. Very good location. Reasonable pricing. The negative things are there's no fan in the bathroom and both windows (patio/pool side and parking side) don't block outside noise at all...

I liked the size of the room but utensils and dishes nothing matched good thing I bought my own stuff and the stove was old and didn't work properly.Zero sound proofing so really noisy. Patio around pool slab is lifting and I took a good fall. It has the bones and location if owners would spend the money and hire actual contractors. Truthfully if you want to party 24/7 it is fine, I didn't.

The Riverside Motel is a great and reasonably priced place to stay. The rooms are clean and well-maintained. The pool is awesome for families. It's very conveniently located. And the staff are friendly and accommodating.

Really wonderful staff and a lovely spot. Perfectly located to everything, yet no real reason to ever leave the Motel property either.

We arrived to find the king room we prepaid was unavailable and were moved to a queen instead, with no offer of a rate adjustment or upgrade. The front desk clerk declined to address the discrepancy, which was disappointing since a fare adjustment is the minimum when a lower room category is provided. Otherwise, the room and property were clean.

We arrived after a very long day of travel delays and were exhausted. The staff were fast, courteous, and helpful. We really appreciated it and our room was clean and comfy. I would absolutely recommend this property as a great place to stay. We can't wait to return!

You can hear everything through the walls and floor above. Two night in a row we were awakened by parties at 1:30 in the morning until 3:00am. I told reception after the first night and they did nothing . The second night different guests checked in and they were extremely loud once again. I called front desk at 1:00am to tell them and she said she would call. She called the wrong room and we were kept up until 3:00am once again. Asked for money back the third night and she said she would talk with manager and they never got back to me. Very poor communication and costumer care. Spend the extra $20 a night and go stay somewhere else!

The staff are excellent. The rooms are clean. Lots of activities around. Was a great stay. We will be back.

So not stay here. We had a terrible experience. We travel often and have modest expectations. We were arriving late and we were told we couldn't check in after 10 o'clock. The night that we arrived, we were going to be late so we called them and they said that it was no problem to check in late, so I'm not sure why they didn't tell us that before. On the last night of our stay, people were partying till 4 AM in the room beside us when I called the front desk and nobody answered because they don't have anyone working there after hours EVER. The next day, when I went down to complain, they argued with me about the fact that I never actually called them. They told me that I could talk to the manager the next day and that he would call me. He didn't. I waited four days and called back. They basically told me that they have no idea when the manager/owner will be in. I asked what their policy was regarding emergency situations and they didn't have an answer when I pressed for more information the front desk Clarke hung up on me. I called back four times and she refused to answer my phone call. This hotel is being run by a bunch of yahoo's. They have no management around to help them in the event of any situation that goes sideways. I would be scared to wonder what they would do in an emergency situation. The owner doesn't even care. The people at the front desk I think are sleeping in a back room. We watch them walk out barefoot so I don't think they follow stand hygiene.

had a terrible experience at this hotel. The service was absolutely awful – the staff were unhelpful and unprofessional.What made it even worse was their cancellation policy. I needed to cancel my reservation due to an emergency, and they refused to offer any flexibility or refund, despite my situation. I will never stay here again, and I strongly advise anyone looking for a hassle-free experience to choose another hotel. Poor customer service and unfair policies are a huge deal-breaker.

The location was so perfect for the price. So Close to the Boardwalk.

The property is older but well maintained with many upgrades. The pool area is wonderful, my teens spent a lot of time there. Lots of seating and umbrellas for shade. Laundry facilities on site, we washed bathing suits and beach towels. Air conditioner worked great, beds were comfortable and our family suite was huge. The location of property was awesome, few minutes walk to the beach, canal float and Loco Landing.

Thankfully everything was clean I suppose my only complaint would be no complementary coffee, but thankfully I just happened to bring my own coffee maker and coffee

Spacious, clean apartment with comfy beds. Kitchen needs to be better stocked. For a room that sleeps 6 it only had 2 cups and 1 coffee pack.

Repeated guest here, as away from town centre, but easy to get around. Comfortable beds. Right on river, grass grounds, chairs, patio, bbqs. some rooms with view or balcony. Good breakfast, easy parking. Rooms have been updated to good standard.

I liked the outside space - picnic table and bbq. The bed was very comfortable.

It was a great place to stay. Bed was ok and convenient location. Very community oriented for family’s. But it was just us two. Operators were accommodating and pleasant. Housekeeping didn’t leave new coffee packs. Had to ask for them. The kitchen needs some basic supplies. Salt and pepper sugar and creamer. But overall just fine.

Comfortable bed and pillows, fairly clean … a bit more dusting required. Definitely requires a better stocked kitchen. 2 forks, no proper sharp knives …. That said I would stay again! Great location, close to restaurants, lake access and central for travelling south and north for wine tasting. Fabulous pool! Bring your own beach towel!

There was a coffee pot but no coffee. Never seen staff really. Everything was clean as expected.
