The onsen was great. Tattooed guests have two hours late at night they can use it which is lovely. The staff were super helpful and very kind.

東照宮をメインで選びました。施設の古さはありますが、清潔感がありスタッフの方も対応はしっかりされていました。チェックアウト後も朝から昼過ぎまで散策している間、車を置かせていただき助かりました。東照宮メインで参拝される予定であれば、古き良き日本の宿としておすすめです。旅館というよりは民宿といった感じではありますが、静かに過ごせました。

The property is located within walking distance to all the heritage attractions of Nikko. Big plus if you are spending the time to visit those attractions and downtown Nikko. The dinner and breakfast were included in the "half board" package. Wonderful food and beautifully presented, very typical of the Japanese ryokan style. We had the Japanese style tatami room which is very spacious. It has ensuite toilet and wash basin but not the shower/bath. That you have to go to the onsen common bathroom to do. Not a problem for us. The property is a bit dated. The colour and decors were dull, and the onsen itself has tiles that were dislodging from the wall due to the high humidity and poor ventilation. Therefore, the inn doesn't give that ryokan charm and doesn't promote that relaxing zen feel. A refreshed look would bring this inn to the level which would be more in line with the wonderful service from the staff and the amazing food.

東照宮にも歩いてすぐに行くことが出来て、立地は凄く良いです。車も宿の敷地内に置くことが出来たので良かったです。和洋室のお部屋はおそらくリニューアルしたのち小綺麗にされてますが、虫は多かったです。入り口やローカは修学旅行のお宿のような感じもありましたが、お部屋に入ると綺麗で驚きました。お食事も美味しくスタッフの方々は親切でよかったです。
