WFI not very good pity not doing breakfast

No WiFi

Location was excellent. Good clean room. The only issue was because we were ground floor level we could here traffic noise and people upstairs banging around. But that would not put us off staying again. Parking was free with a permit.

Room was nice and clean. Short walk to the harbour and pubs. Nothing to dislike. We even got a free, on street, parking permit.

Lovely and clean, good sized double bedroom. Tea and coffee making facilities. Ensuite small bathroom with lovely, easy to use, shower. TV, though not a lot of channels. Parking permit is a bonus, although finding a space can be tricky. Great room at a very reasonable price. I would definitely stay here again in the future. Very happy

Perfect for what we wanted. Couldn’t get WiFi in room as we were at the top of the house but sat at the top of stairs and it was fine. Didn’t have enough coffee and milk but to be fair we didn’t ask for any more

Didn't meet the people running the guest house. The room was fine, but the wifi did not work for the time of our stay.

The location is excellent for the West cliff. Parking spaces are a problem but host provided ticket and once you have a space stay in it.

terrible....my wife and i use hotel.com regular and we always enjoy our stay.the hotel advertised parking no parking,,,,we arrived at lunchtime on saturday august 16th...to be briefly told by sally the owner you will have to find a spot on the street.Well you can imagine not an easy job.sally thrust our room key in my hand and dissapered......she gave us a card to display on the dashboard so we did not have to pay she said make sure you in a disc zone.all you need after a long drive is to spend 20 mins trying to find parking..eventually found a spot..walking past the car on sunday there was a par king ticket for £50..she did not explain that you had to be in the corret zone...in addition our room was right at top of the guest house we are both in our seventies..we had had enough and came home sunday teatime missing a night..

Lovely family room, great location with walking distance to centre of whitby, only thing i wasnt satified with was the bathroom, spiders all over the ceiling and hair in the shower.

Convenient location and friendly staff. However the rooms need a proper clean- cobwebs everywhere, sticky coffee stains on the coasters, and clothing left in the wardrobe (?!)

We only stayed for one night but was very clean and tidy. And staff were helpful ☺ also local to everything you need. There was only one issue for us that the mattress wasn't very comfy. But the bedding was all fresh and clean and well made.

A lovely building in an area very close to the beach and only a short walk to town. Room was a good size & had a handy mini fridge. Bathroom had a few spider residents - one particularly fat one in the shower I had to catch & take outside before my daughter would use the toilet :D Landlady not the usual chatty hotel type - gave us our key, car parking slip and disappeared not to be seen again but that's ok, tourists are probably pretty annoying! Overall, good value for money.

Nice place! Somehat vintage, attractively so. Cosy room, and though for a single, not at the top of the house. Only downside was not en suite, though did have a separate private bathroom; though in fairness I did know about this and signed up for it; so my own d.....d fault - must stop agreeing to this, as is a nuisance in the middle of the night! That aside, place was fine - comfortable, reasonable, quiet, and a short walk from most necessary amenities.

Last minute booking and what a great little find. Room was spacious and beds comfortable with tea and coffee facilities. Shower was pretty low pressure but got us all clean and in all we had a great stay. Location is brilliant, 10 mins walk to the beach and 15/20 mins walk into Whitby centre. Only downside is no breakfast available but plenty of places in Whitby for this.

This guest house was perfectly situated with just a 10 minute walk to the harbor. The room was nice and clean, but the only downside was that the bed settee was a bit uncomfortable and the shower made a really load noise when it was switched on.

Good size room and Good location

Single room with private external bathroom, sadly bathroom was not next door, which they normally are, but down the corridor 3 rooms away including some steps. May suit some, but not me. Còffee milk etc not replenished and non seemed to be available. Also road was much busier with traffic than you would expect, take ear plugs, windows keep out no sound. Otherwise ok budget accom. Other rooms probably much nicer

Stayed 1 night with 2 of our friends. We had room 3 they had room 1 . Both rooms were very comfortable well equipped and clean. The bed and bedding was extremely comfortable. We had everything we needed for our stay . Tea and coffee making facilities and a mini fridge a very nice extra . Room is a little old fashioned but that was our personal opinion and definitely not a negative. The placement of the bed is next to a chimney breast this made it a tight squeeze to get to one side of the bed . But we managed. The bathroom was a little small but spotlessly clean . It was excellent value for money and a good location. We would definitely return.

Lovely warm welcome then left to do our own thing, just as you want it.

Never saw anyone or spoke to anyone

I went to check in while my husband tried to find a parking space. I entered the building and the place was deserted. I looked around then noticed a sign with phone numbers so thought I'd ring to say I was there but then I saw a woman come out of a room and she just said hello before going upstairs. Puzzled, I looked at the sign on the door she had come out of - it said private so surely, she must have been the host? I waited til she came back downstairs and asked her if she was who I needed to contact you check in. She just looked at me and asked how I got in. I gestured towards the door and said 'through the door'. 'It must have been left on the latch she sighed, what's your name?' She came back with keys and explained it was room 1 on the first floor. I asked for a parking permit and explained that my husband was trying to find a parking spot. She went back in the room and came out with a card and said I didn't need to scratch anything off as she had done it and that it was up until 10am on the day of departure. That was the last I ever saw of her during our stay. On entering the room, my husband and I were greeted by a god awful smell. I'm not sure what it was but it lasted our whole stay. The room was adequate. There was 2 bath sheets but no hand towel. There was tea/ coffee facilities and a small fridge which made that much noise, I had to switch it off during the night. There was a light just outside the door that stayed on all night and shone through the gaps.

Had a fantastic stay with some friends at the Esklet Guest House. The owners were very helpful with explaining the layout and gave us ample parking for 4 large motorbikes. The Guest House was clean, well kept and we all had a great nights sleep.

Wonderful property, beautiful room, lovely helpful owners. Mom and I had a wonderful stay here, we couldn't have wished for better!

A lovely guesthouse with a lovely size room with everything you could need for the night :) Very friendly staff and very accommodating.

It didn't start off well had to ring the bell four times before I got an answer the place is very run down and a lot of stairs very cramped and the bathroom was ridiculous about four foot wide I even had to close the curtains to enable me to open the bathroom door all in all I shan't return

Lovely guest house. Clean and cool during the day Really close to all amenities a little bit uphill but doable.

Stayed in this B&B in the past and it never disappoints. I needed to break my journey to Hull for the pride celebrations and this was ideal as a place to have a stopover. Modern internet smart television and a separate bathroom to use outside of tge room which was exclusively for room 4 I stayed in . Away from the harbour and the mass tourism crowds but close enough to the pubs, cafes and railway station with a 12 minute walk to enjoy a quiet place to stay and rest

It was out of the way from all the noise around the harbour. However, everything was in a lovely walking distance. The room was clean, modern and very peaceful. Amazing value for money and myself and my partner would happily stay again.

Friendly reception. Room cool and airy despite heatwave outside. Since lst stay owner has chosen not to do breakfast which is ashame but didnt spoil stay .

They don't do breakfast, not a problem for me on this occassion. Reasonably priced.
