Poorly heated. Large rooms with 4000 watt spaceheaters! Probable room temp 68 degrees. Not good after skiing or hunting in very cold days. Furnace appears to be partially dissambled and would cost a fortune. No staff on hand that I saw. Place was quite beautiful at one. Would not recommed.unless it was $50 anight

The moment I turned on the faucet in the sink to brush my teeth, the water started backing up within 3 seconds. Dirty water with a clogged pipe, water couldn’t even go down the pipe. The entire place is like a very cheap motel. I left immediately. The online photos of the place were deceptive.

Nasty, unsanitary room. Utilities are sooooo outdated. Floor was buckling and nasty carpet. TV had no wifi and limited to 2 channels Transient families living extended stay with pets. There was a hole in shower ceiling and looked like a camera. All this is true and flag this place or condemn it

very very very very outdated had to run hot water to take a shower/ carpet patches all throughout room and hall/ cobwebs all over old mattresses in hall and outside buildings/musty smell/ banisters broken not safe both upstairs and down outside- never got to see upstairs hall wasn't allowed- also there is an additional section don't know if it is rented or not don't see any parking has another 20- to 40 rooms- not much parking for as big as the place is main building has 59 rooms- parking enough for about 10 cars i think parking lot is overgrown - nobody in lobby when we 1st came no computer very cold and damp when you come into building old cars out side under canopy could not find the place wasn't expecting to be out a dirt road with very small signs was expecting bigger signs very unusual set up old resort just renting out old rooms tv kept cutting out no phone access near a lake but can't get near it

Beautiful resort and beyond kind staff. Though a bit far from shopping and gas stations the quiet space is what this offers. The Wi-Fi did go out on the tv for most of the night but everything else was enjoyable and didn’t personally bother me too much to have tech issues. Definitely recommend!

Terrible stank musky moldy, no toilteries, had to take ou5 own trash and supply own toilet paper, trash arpund the whole building collpasing and boarded up rooms doors and stairs, no one at the front desk, just very dirty cheap ran down, No spa no hot tubs only 3 rooms have an INFLATABLE HOT TUB.

Nice ambiance, wood area, however this old resort is not close to any dining or shopping venue. The hotel has vintage furniture, pictures etc. Plumbing ne3ds repwired and updated.

From the moment we arrived to the time we left, we were met with exceptional service & hospitality. Romantic, serene, comfort of home weekend getaway! Perfect way to relax & reboot mind, body, soul from the chaos of life. Internet/wifi service wasn't the best, BUT that ended up being an advantage to focus on us & enjoy each other even more! That being said, if you plan to listen to music I'd suggest a wire connected device &/or a pre-made playlist that doesn't require wifi. 10/10 we highly recommend & will return in the future!

Absolutely terrible. Smelled like like mildew. Bugs everywhere. Huge flies. You could only lock the screen door with peice of wood at the bottom. Left 1 hr in our stay. Was getting sick from the smell. Felt very nauseous

1. We had difficulty getting in- the front desk is not monitored full time, and we had no cell phone reception upon arriving, so it was very difficult to actually call for anyone to help us get in. You should make the wifi available to visitors even before they arrive. 2. The facility is a bit aged, which we can live with, but we discovered mice droppings on the second day, so we cut our visit short. It would be nice to be compensate for our second day!

It's very rundown, and the smell of mold rules the hallways. The place indicator says it's a smoke-free hotel, but it definitely isn't - all you smell are old cigarettes and pleading products. I appreciate that the young lady upgraded my room; the room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable enough for me to sleep in. The only issue was that the patio lights stayed on all night, and the curtains were thin, so the light bothered me. It also indicated they had a beach, but it was false - it's a swamp covered with trees and green mold. Overall, it was okay, but was it worth the amount I paid? No but that's how I get to experience things in the area by learning and never repeating the lesson again.

Totally miss represented. Took 15 minutes to find someone to let me in to begin with. Piles of garbage on the property. If I hadn’t been so tired, I would have left. As there were only thin doors with no deadbolt or chain, I felt a little unsafe. To sum it up: a dump.

We did not stay at hotel... was very run down and steven king scary looking.. Staff was nice.. owner was rude when we asked for a refund due to the run down condition of the hotel... Built in 1963.. has not been updated since..

Across the board, it was an bad experience staying here. I checked out after the first day and didn’t stay the second day because of a sudden personal emergency. So I asked the owner or manager to try to get me a refund for the second day booking and they told me to deal about it with Expedia. So I called Expedia all they did was send me two emails so far telling me that the situation is still pending according to the Pocono Hotel and Spa. That doesn’t make sense because they told me already at the hotel they will not refund me for the second day. That I had already paid and booked for through Expedia. And I’m still waiting for an answer on that one for me from either Expedia or hotel. Like I said, it was a personal, family emergency of why we left and the hotel management knows that and knows why. It would be nice if I can at least get a credit for the $108 I paid for the booking or a full refund. Which ever they want to do.

Across the board, it was an bad experience staying here. I checked out after the first day and didn’t stay the second day because of a sudden personal emergency. So I asked the owner or manager to try to get me a refund for the second day booking and they told me to deal about it with Expedia. So I called Expedia all they did was send me two emails so far telling me that the situation is still pending according to the Pocono Hotel and Spa. The owner was very sweet and helpful. We spun out in the snow and needed a last minute place to stay. I felt so safe and welcomed at this place. He helped us out the best he could despite being in the middle of a snow storm. My boyfriend and I will forever appreciate all of the help the owner offered during a rough time

Imagine paying for a room and only to get locked out of the hotel and sleeping in the car after they forgot to give the passcode to the hotel front door and the phone number provided doesn’t work after sundown til 11am. The owner is terrifible person and doesn’t care about his guests. I would never recommend anyone to come there. The rooms is full of webbings and spiders, and that’s the least of your worries, check the bathroom and behind the beds. After all this, I’m just speechless.

We played the gambling machines and my boyfriend got called a professional gambler because he hit on the machines. Then the receptionist was on tue phone saying she will tell us to leave. I confronted her and she said if my card declined because i paid with card amd not the cash we won from the machines. We went to another place to stay. They carged my card and im still waiting to get my refund.

From the moment we arrived to the time we left, we were met with exceptional service & hospitality. Romantic, serene, comfort of home weekend getaway! Perfect way to relax & reboot mind, body, soul from the chaos of life. Internet/wifi service wasn't the best, BUT that ended up being an advantage to focus on us & enjoy each other even more! That being said, if you plan to listen to music I'd suggest a wire connected device &/or a pre-made playlist that doesn't require wifi. 10/10 we highly recommend & will return in the future!

I adored this hotel. The lobby was magical and filled with books, a piano, vintage decorations, and Classic memorabilia. The room was equally charming with four poster beds and wooden lamps and a door to an outside patio. The owner and staff were incredibly accommodating. Dog friendly place that’s truly unique. It was winter so I didn’t get to enjoy the lake, and will be back!

very very very very outdated had to run hot water to take a shower/ carpet patches all throughout room and hall/ cobwebs all over old mattresses in hall and outside buildings/musty smell/ banisters broken not safe both upstairs and down outside- never got to see upstairs hall wasn't allowed- also there is an additional section don't know if it is rented or not don't see any parking has another 20- to 40 rooms- not much parking for as big as the place is main building has 59 rooms- parking enough for about 10 cars i think parking lot is overgrown - nobody in lobby when we 1st came no computer very cold and damp when you come into building old cars out side under canopy could not find the place wasn't expecting to be out a dirt road with very small signs was expecting bigger signs very unusual set up old resort just renting out old rooms tv kept cutting out no phone access near a lake but can't get near it

Beautiful resort and beyond kind staff. Though a bit far from shopping and gas stations the quiet space is what this offers. The Wi-Fi did go out on the tv for most of the night but everything else was enjoyable and didn’t personally bother me too much to have tech issues. Definitely recommend!

My wife and I recently planned a quick weekend getaway. We choose Pocono Mountain resort and spa for a couple of reasons. 1. Dog freindly. (They were very accommodating for traveling with our four legged member of our family.) Close to other things in area we have done in the past. (Everything seemed to be around 25-30 minutes which we didn't mind with the wonderful Mountain veiws) 3 reasonable price This is not the Hilton so don't expect it. If grandmom said come stay at my cabin in the mountains this place has that vibe. The staff and owner are nice and very sociable. The place is far from perfect and dated but thats what gives it its character. We are already planning our next trip back we loved it.

Place smelled of mold from 50' away. Room was worse. The listed lake access was non existent. Doors were low quality push-button lock style. The outdoor patio opened to an unkempt yard and mostly marked as a dog walk. My wife was unable to take the smell and we checked out the same day. I ran the tiny ac for 3 hours while we went out. Hoped it would dry the room out and remove the smell, resulted in a cold mold smell. Spent a total of 1 hour on site. Two days later I'm suffering from mold induced lung issues. Not recommended.

How could you even list this property as a motel no less hotel and spa. No sign to mark the property. Old rusty outdoor furniture. A dehumidifier was turned on hours after we got there. .m. The lake was a wetlands with no beach located through the woods across a road. Spa meant a blowup hot tub. . No hot water and a small bottle of unmarked liquid beside the sink. I will never use your site again. Even the server at a nearby restaurant who gave us directions did not recommend it. We did not stay the second night. It wasn't really a open working property. Please remove it for your reputation.

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I had reservations for two nights but left early on the first morning. The decor in the common areas and my appeared to be collected from what had not sold at a yard sale. Some of the of the wall hangings were plastic. Mismatched furnishings were of old, poor quality materials. Electrical cords ran along the walls. The bathroom amenities were a partial bottle of something green and another empty dispenser. Ceiling tiles in the hallway were hanging or completely missing, exposing wiring. A wall heating unit looked ancient and had a length of "caution" tape affixed to it. The locks on the room doors were minimal thumb-turns latches with no deadbolts, even to the exterior. Exterior features like picnic tables were dirty and mismatched. Some structures were broken. Most concerning was the pervasive smell throughout the hallways, of must, or cigarettes, or animals. The carpet is a patchwork of samples, and very old. The manager expressed some pride that the place had not been improved in decades. The manager had indicated at least coffee in the morning, and there was a big commercial-type machine in the lobby, there were no supplies or coffee. The desk was not staffed in the morning. Restaurants are not nearby this place. There is no "spa." A weedy lake is near the property, but it is not for swimming. My mistake was not leaving the minute I looked around.
