The experience of this hotel was on a level that cannot fully be written down. The garden was a wonderland of nature with small rest spots that make you feel like you're one with nature and Japanese culture. During our adventures in the garden I have found some time stop items that just bring human and nature together. The massage was an incredible experience making me feel like I was floating in a cloud. The facial experience brought the refreshing feeling of Mt. Fuji rejuvenating my skin. The dinner created a mixture of traditional Japanese culture with a modern twist creating a unique experience. Then came the performances of the power of the Japanese drums. This is where you can feel and hear culture together as one showing the power of Japan on their culture. The second performance of the violinists and pianoist was as elegant as Japan itself. The osens from private, public, and outdoor osen was a relaxing stay bringing the warmth of Japan. This memory with my girlfriend will be a memory I will never forget and cherish forever.

This place is a wonderful getaway. Although I do wish that the timing of the areas will remain open a little longer than 6pm or 9pm since most travelers are not aware of the free amenities that are offer there. The meal that comes with the room is to die for. The view is perfect and the atmosphere is great. The breakfast buffet is perfect to end the 1 day getaway.

I stayed at Fujisan Bessho Sasa and really enjoyed it. The ryokan is spacious and has a premium, almost luxury feel. We booked a room with a mountain view and a private bath. The view was amazing and the room was spotless. There were lots of free activities too, like a drum performance, a bar with complimentary drinks, and a piano performance. They also offer free yukata. The rooftop public bath was clean and had a great view as well. The staff were polite and helpful, and the free shuttle made getting to and from the Kawaguchiko Station easier, even though the location is a bit farther from the Station. We also wandered through the garden, which was beautifully maintained. With the kaiseki dinner included, I felt the whole experience was really good value for money.

Beautiful gardens in the back; the Onsen was amazing with views of Mount Fuji. Staff was very kind and helpful. Dinner was outstanding with 8 courses. We had a room for 5 with private onsen with a Fuji view and used the 10th floor one as well. Spectacular stay and completely worth the price. Massage chairs are a must do as well as the tea house. Free drinks and snacks in lounge is another plus. Breakfast was a buffet with omelets and Japanese and western breakfast items . They had drum show and piano bar with free drink ticket and they have karaoke rooms that you can rent out . It was far from Kyoto to get there but the hotel helped reserve us a shuttle tour from the Shinkansen station that goes to the mt Fuji museum and it was interesting to learn more about it. Would love to return one day.

This was one of the best hotels that we stayed in Japan. It was not cheap but worth the price. The reality was exactly like what they showed in the picture. We got a perfect view of Mt. Fuji from the room patio. The kaiseki meal served in our room was exceptional. The room was so spacious like a house. Bessho SASA is part of Hotel Kaneyamaen and claims the 4th and 5th floor of it. The main hotel has a public onsen facing Mt. Fuji on the 10th floor. They have an app that tells you how crowded is it by the hour. But the open time frame is super short (6-9am for ladies in the morning and 3-6pm for men in the afternoon). Try to check in early (2:30pm) because they also have a complimentary tea experience (tea and pastry included), and a private lounge area that you can get drinks and cookies. The lounge also has a massage chair which is nice. Unfortunately a lot of these great amenities close at 6pm before dinner is served. So if you arrive late, you'll miss out on all these. The breakfast buffet was also very nice. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and we thoroughly enjoy our stay at Bessho SASA! highly recommended!

Overall, I had a great stay at Fuji-san Onsen Bessho SASA. The room was really nice and the private onsen with a view of Fuji-san was great to relax in. The hotel had plenty to do on the property including Green Tea Ceremony, Taiko drum show and exploring the gardens. The only negatives were that the room inside was a little bit dated and did have a damp/musty smell inside, which made it hard for me to fall asleep. It is also not very walkable, but that is more of a Fujiyoshida issue so I would recommend renting a car to solve that problem. Overall I would stay here again. The Washoku dinner was amazing!

Words can not describe the amazing wonderful experience we had. From the Hotel pick up, to the hospitality of the employees. Ohh my god. The staff make you feel like royalty. It was definitely an experience. The breakfast buffet was the best that I've ever had! Quality food, after Breakfast we walked the gardens. Oh And the in room dinner presentation was so unique and delicious. We also saw a Taiko drum performance and had bingo which I won 1st place luxury pillow. I would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you to the staff members for giving us an amazing opportunity to visit.

My wife and I LOVED staying here! We were lucky and Mr Fuji came out from behind the clouds for sunset and I watched it from the roof onsen. The next morning my wife got up for sunrise on the roof onsen. There are unobstructed views of Fuji from up there and 3 different temperature pools (the higher up the pool the higher the temperature). We also enjoyed our private onsen in our room together and the lovely meal the hotel prepared for us. The many lounges, the tea room, the amazing service, and the expansive garden with the onsen for feet made this a truly unique and amazing experience! I would love to return again someday! Thank you for having us and treating us so well!

I was here once in 2019 and things are drastically different durin my 2023 stay. Staff was all young and inexperienced. Lady that led us to the room talked loudly in mandarin, when we do not even speak the language. The property must have changed ownership. The food was poorly done, and is not even close to the caliber. The staff rudely kicked us out of 3rd floor lounge while we were having some tea in the evening. They said it was closed. Seriously if the tea is available for guest to serve themselves, let them. We are not loud nor obnoxious, we were just sitting there sipping on tea due to ingestion from dinner. Our private onsen in the room was a bit dirty. There was hair on my bed upon arrival. The garden seemed to be expanding so lots of slippery mud.

The rooms were great, but you couldn't get a drink after 10 pm. The staff were always apologetic about everything but never offered a solution, for example the wine list in the dining room was very poor compared to the Wine Tasting Room we paid extra for. Why have a wine tasting room and not offer the same wines on the menu for dinner. At times the staff were almost hostile. The Karaoke rooms were not open despite not being told about it when we booked the hotel..... a big disappointment. The outdoor swimming pool was filthy, looked like it hadn't been cleaned for months, I know it was outside but it was a beautiful day. Clean it and get a cover, either that or put fish in it. The gardens were beautiful and well tended. The Japanese tea Ladies were very kind and attentive. The stay was ruined by the poor attitude of the manager when complaining about the wine choice and quality of wines available to purchase on the menu. We were made to pay for the sweet wines that were really pudding wines that were sold as dry white.....ridiculous. They could do a lot better with the right attitude towards their customers. Would I go back.....not sure, many to chose from so probably unlikely.

I love everything about this hotel! Staff were excellent with great customer service. Room was spotless to me. Also, the view of Mt. Fuji to the room i booked was amazing. The hotel has different activities though out the day to keep u busy! I would definitely stay at this place again!!!

This is a lovely property with a great garden and very nice public onsens. Lot of great options for food. A few things to be aware of. It is a bit out of town and while the hotel does provide a free shuttle it cannot be pre booked so you have to call and then wait. From kawaguchiko it can take upto 20 mins or more and then another 20 mins or more to get to the hotel so worth keeping in mind. The hotel itself is a bit dated but the common areas are still very nice and clean. My only complaint is that we booked in the more expensive Bessho SASA rooms. We stayed two nights. These rooms are not at all great value for money. The rooms are small for three people with no place for bags once there is a third bed. No bedside tables (no space). The in room dining meant that the only place where we could keep things needed to be cleared out including moving suitcases out of the way! Rooms are on 4th and 5th floor of 10 floor hotel and while they do have views of mt Fuji the higher up rooms have better views. The private onsen is nice but they have other rooms with private onsen. All of this could still be considered not a huge deal but the worse was that our room had a smell of cigarette smoke coming from the vents. The hotel staff smelled it and apologized and gave us an extra room on the ground floor to sleep in but this is hardly ideal. The next day they moved us and while the smell of smoke was a bit less it was still there. At over $1000 per night for a room, this seems poor value

Overall, I had a great stay at Fuji-san Onsen Bessho SASA. The room was really nice and the private onsen with a view of Fuji-san was great to relax in. The hotel had plenty to do on the property including Green Tea Ceremony, Taiko drum show and exploring the gardens. The only negatives were that the room inside was a little bit dated and did have a damp/musty smell inside, which made it hard for me to fall asleep. It is also not very walkable, but that is more of a Fujiyoshida issue so I would recommend renting a car to solve that problem. Overall I would stay here again. The Washoku dinner was amazing!

The outdoor onsen on the 10th floor is the best of this hotel. The room looks old and bad lighting make it worse. I spent more for the corner room to see the Mount Fuji view; however, the weather is bad and end up see nothing. In such case, the extra charge should be void for customer.

I stayed at Fujisan Bessho Sasa and really enjoyed it. The ryokan is spacious and has a premium, almost luxury feel. We booked a room with a mountain view and a private bath. The view was amazing and the room was spotless. There were lots of free activities too, like a drum performance, a bar with complimentary drinks, and a piano performance. They also offer free yukata. The rooftop public bath was clean and had a great view as well. The staff were polite and helpful, and the free shuttle made getting to and from the Kawaguchiko Station easier, even though the location is a bit farther from the Station. We also wandered through the garden, which was beautifully maintained. With the kaiseki dinner included, I felt the whole experience was really good value for money.

It is a bit out of town and while the hotel does provide a free shuttle it cannot be pre booked so you have to call and then wait. From kawaguchiko it can take upto 20 mins or more and then another 20 mins or more to get to the hotel so worth keeping in mind. The hotel itself is a bit dated but the common areas are still very nice and clean. My only complaint is that we booked in the more expensive Bessho SASA rooms. We stayed two nights. These rooms are not at all great value for money. The rooms are small for three people with no place for bags once there is a third bed. No bedside tables (no space). The in room dining meant that the only place where we could keep things needed to be cleared out including moving suitcases out of the way! Rooms are on 4th and 5th floor of 10 floor hotel and while they do have views of mt Fuji the higher up rooms have better views. The private onsen is nice but they have other rooms with private onsen. All of this could still be considered not a huge deal but the worse was that our room had a smell of cigarette smoke coming from the vents. The hotel staff smelled it and apologized and gave us an extra room on the ground floor to sleep in but this is hardly ideal. The next day they moved us and while the smell of smoke was a bit less it was still there. At over $1000 per night for a room, this seems poor value

Fuji from the room patio. The kaiseki meal served in our room was exceptional. The room was so spacious like a house. Bessho SASA is part of Hotel Kaneyamaen and claims the 4th and 5th floor of it. The main hotel has a public onsen facing Mt. Fuji on the 10th floor. They have an app that tells you how crowded is it by the hour. But the open time frame is super short (6-9am for ladies in the morning and 3-6pm for men in the afternoon). Try to check in early (2:30pm) because they also have a complimentary tea experience (tea and pastry included), and a private lounge area that you can get drinks and cookies. The lounge also has a massage chair which is nice. Unfortunately a lot of these great amenities close at 6pm before dinner is served. So if you arrive late, you'll miss out on all these. The breakfast buffet was also very nice. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and we thoroughly enjoy our stay at Bessho SASA! highly recommended!

I had a wonderful stay with my young teenage daughter. It waas one of our most memorable experiences during our first visit to Japan. We loved our room - Asumi A Western Room with Open Air Bath and a view of the majestic Mt Fuji. The grounds were beautiful. Dinner was great and we loved dining in our room. Breakfast was ok. Staff was very friendly and the customer service was top notch. During our stay, my daughter accidentally left her rings in one of the bathrooms in our room and didn’t realize it until much later. To our surprise, the hotel contacted us, letting us know they had found the rings. Not only did they hold onto them safely, but they also went the extra mile and arranged to have the rings sent to the next hotel we were staying at. Their honesty, care, and willingness to help made a lasting impression on us. We already can't wait to return in December and experience their hospitality again. Highly recommend!

My wife and I LOVED staying here! We were lucky and Mr Fuji came out from behind the clouds for sunset and I watched it from the roof onsen. The next morning my wife got up for sunrise on the roof onsen. There are unobstructed views of Fuji from up there and 3 different temperature pools (the higher up the pool the higher the temperature). We also enjoyed our private onsen in our room together and the lovely meal the hotel prepared for us. The many lounges, the tea room, the amazing service, and the expansive garden with the onsen for feet made this a truly unique and amazing experience! I would love to return again someday! Thank you for having us and treating us so well!

The rooms were great, but you couldn't get a drink after 10 pm. The staff were always apologetic about everything but never offered a solution, for example the wine list in the dining room was very poor compared to the Wine Tasting Room we paid extra for. Why have a wine tasting room and not offer the same wines on the menu for dinner. At times the staff were almost hostile. The Karaoke rooms were not open despite not being told about it when we booked the hotel..... a big disappointment. The outdoor swimming pool was filthy, looked like it hadn't been cleaned for months, I know it was outside but it was a beautiful day. Clean it and get a cover, either that or put fish in it. The gardens were beautiful and well tended. The Japanese tea Ladies were very kind and attentive. The stay was ruined by the poor attitude of the manager when complaining about the wine choice and quality of wines available to purchase on the menu. We were made to pay for the sweet wines that were really pudding wines that were sold as dry white.....ridiculous. They could do a lot better with the right attitude towards their customers. Would I go back.....not sure, many to chose from so probably unlikely.

Words can not describe the amazing wonderful experience we had. From the Hotel pick up, to the hospitality of the employees. Ohh my god. The staff make you feel like royalty. It was definitely an experience. The breakfast buffet was the best that I've ever had! Quality food, after Breakfast we walked the gardens. Oh And the in room dinner presentation was so unique and delicious. We also saw a Taiko drum performance and had bingo which I won 1st place luxury pillow. I would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you to the staff members for giving us an amazing opportunity to visit.

Incredibly disappointed to pay $700 for one night and be told by the front desk that I can’t store my luggage with them after checking out. The staffer wasn’t even apologetic about it. This left a bad taste in my mouth since there were no lunch options inside the hotel and my wife and I had to carry our luggage to a nearby restaurant in the rain just to have lunch. The private bath had no temperature control and was too hot. On the bright side, the meal service lady was amazing and super friendly, and the taiko drummers were awesome, and bingo was a fun touch. The garden is beautiful and the interior decor is an eclectic feast for the eyes.

Was very surprised about this place! The service, staff, amenities, property, and food were great! Mt Fuji was even out! There's a shuttle that takes you to and from the station or even the lake! Our only complaint is that we wish we stayed here longer.

This is a lovely property with a great garden and very nice public onsens. Lot of great options for food. A few things to be aware of. It is a bit out of town and while the hotel does provide a free shuttle it cannot be pre booked so you have to call and then wait. From kawaguchiko it can take upto 20 mins or more and then another 20 mins or more to get to the hotel so worth keeping in mind. The hotel itself is a bit dated but the common areas are still very nice and clean. My only complaint is that we booked in the more expensive Bessho SASA rooms. We stayed two nights. These rooms are not at all great value for money. The rooms are small for three people with no place for bags once there is a third bed. No bedside tables (no space). The in room dining meant that the only place where we could keep things needed to be cleared out including moving suitcases out of the way! Overall, I had a great stay at Fuji-san Onsen Bessho SASA. The room was really nice and the private onsen with a view of Fuji-san was great to relax in. The hotel had plenty to do on the property including Green Tea Ceremony, Taiko drum show and exploring the gardens. The only negatives were that the room inside was a little bit dated and did have a damp/musty smell inside, which made it hard for me to fall asleep. It is also not very walkable, but that is more of a Fujiyoshida issue so I would recommend renting a car to solve that problem. Overall I would stay here again. The Washoku dinner was amazing!

I stayed at Fujisan Bessho Sasa and really enjoyed it. The ryokan is spacious and has a premium, almost luxury feel. We booked a room with a mountain view and a private bath. The view was amazing and the room was spotless. There were lots of free activities too, like a drum performance, a bar with complimentary drinks, and a piano performance. They also offer free yukata. The rooftop public bath was clean and had a great view as well. The staff were polite and helpful, and the free shuttle made getting to and from the Kawaguchiko Station easier, even though the location is a bit farther from the Station. We also wandered through the garden, which was beautifully maintained. With the kaiseki dinner included, I felt the whole experience was really good value for money.

We went here to relax and bask in the presence of Fuji. It was an amazing place to stay and we really enjoyed our stay. The Private, in-room onsen with Mt Fuji view was next level. The 8 course meal was also excellent. Even in winter the large garden area was impressive. Very few spoke English and when they did it was very little. This did not impact our stay at all. It was fabulous and relaxing. There were no in hotel lunch options but there is a very nice grocery about a 10 min walk away. The hotel will also pickup and drop off at the train station.

The rooms were great, but you couldn't get a drink after 10 pm. The staff were always apologetic about everything but never offered a solution, for example the wine list in the dining room was very poor compared to the Wine Tasting Room we paid extra for. The Karaoke rooms were not open despite not being told about it when we booked the hotel..... a big disappointment. The outdoor swimming pool was filthy, looked like it hadn't been cleaned for months, I know it was outside but it was a beautiful day. Clean it and get a cover, either that or put fish in it. The gardens were beautiful and well tended. The Japanese tea Ladies were very kind and attentive. The stay was ruined by the poor attitude of the manager when complaining about the wine choice and quality of wines available to purchase on the menu. We were made to pay for the sweet wines that were really pudding wines that were sold as dry white.....ridiculous. They could do a lot better with the right attitude towards their customers. Would I go back.....not sure, many to chose from so probably unlikely.

I had a wonderful stay with my young teenage daughter. It waas one of our most memorable experiences during our first visit to Japan. We loved our room - Asumi A Western Room with Open Air Bath and a view of the majestic Mt Fuji. The grounds were beautiful. Dinner was great and we loved dining in our room. Breakfast was ok. Staff was very friendly and the customer service was top notch. During our stay, my daughter accidentally left her rings in one of the bathrooms in our room and didn’t realize it until much later. To our surprise, the hotel contacted us, letting us know they had found the rings. Not only did they hold onto them safely, but they also went the extra mile and arranged to have the rings sent to the next hotel we were staying at. Their honesty, care, and willingness to help made a lasting impression on us. We already can't wait to return in December and experience their hospitality again. Highly recommend!

Words can not describe the amazing wonderful experience we had. From the Hotel pick up, to the hospitality of the employees. Ohh my god. The staff make you feel like royalty. It was definitely an experience. The breakfast buffet was the best that I've ever had! Quality food, after Breakfast we walked the gardens. Oh And the in room dinner presentation was so unique and delicious. We also saw a Taiko drum performance and had bingo which I won 1st place luxury pillow. I would come back in a heartbeat. Stay more than one night! This hotel is exceptional, and with almost no Foreign tourists it is a true gem. We booked one of the bessho sasa rooms, since we wanted to have a private onsen. Room was clean, spaceous, and (if it wasn't for the clouds) a amazing view of fuji. In room private dinning with the best service we have ever experienced in any hotel. Also, Kaneyamaen has its own private garden, with tea houses, and other smaller activities. If you feel more adventurous, then then Kaneyamaen also offers other guided activities. (Do this on your second day). Lastly there is free shuttlebus to and from train/bus stations. ..... ..... ..... We hope to come back one day and see this amazing place again. My boyfriend and I had an excellent one night stay at the Bessho Sasa. We were pleasantly surprised by the many activities and experiences offered in the evening that were included in our package. Our private dinner went beyond what we could have imagined. The staff at this hotel think of everything for their guests and work very efficiently. We appreciated and enjoyed the yukatas and robes provided by the hotel. The Japanese garden and private onsen in our hotel was beautiful and relaxing. This one night stay will likely be the highlight of our 3 week trip in Japan!
