Ok for one or two nights, but very small for a longer stay. Very steep and narrow staircase to access rooms, would not be easy for anyone carrying large luggage or elderly or with mobility issues.

Quite nice. The balcony area upstairs is nice to sit for a drink. The location is really good, close to both the town/ restaurants/ shops as well as the beach. The room we had was really small and unfortunately the drinking glasses in the room were dirty so we needed to wash them before use. Breakfast was supplied which is always a bonus. Its very close to neighbours and across the road to the camp ground so a bit noisy.

The keyless entry is a big inconvenience to most guests cos we spoke to the other guests n they had the same problem. The stairs too pose a problem for elderly n people with heavy suitcases.

I was very happy with our room. Very clean and comfortable and the style was perfect for the area. The location was walking distance to all the main restaurants and hotels in the foreshore area.

When I checked in late in the evening, someone else was in the room, giving us both a terrible fright. Had to call the afterhours number then knock back on the door again to check what name the other people were booked under. They were in the wrong room. Unsure how this happened as I had the correct door code, was told perhaps the cleaner let them in. It was very embarrassing for me even though I had not done anything wrong. I ended up taking the room they should have had, but felt quite unsettled the whole night as I was worried someone might barge in on me! Breakfast was very basic and the room was cramped without any space between the tables. Of course the people I'd walked in on last night came down at the same time and I was too mortified to stay for breakfast with them sitting right next to me. The property is lovely and the room was pleasant and clean, but it was not a very nice experience I'm sorry to say. The manager person was apologetic but there was no offer of compensation for the mistake, which would have been appreciated.

Booked through a third party and then received no less than 9 follow up emails ! Due to that volume of correspondence I then managed to miss the advice about the lock box code and our Room No. Ended up in the wrong room which was quickly resolved but a little embarrassing for us. It would help if the Rooms were either by number or by name..... not both. That said it was very pleasant but all too short stay. Would we stay at Observatory again, most definitely.

The location is close to the jetty and also the restaurants and numerous supermarkets. The surrounding is tranquil and relaxing. Hotel staff are extremely helpful.

Room was nice. Location was good. Did not receive email with instructions on how to get in. Took 1/2 hour to get instructions, then no room number. Breakfast was rather minimal. Ended up going out for food.

Great location and decent place to stay for a few nights. Biggest problem which needs to be addressed urgently is the lazy and un- secure approach to the codes assigned to the digital keypads that unlock the doors. All had the same first 3 digits with main entrance ending in zero, unit 1 ending in 1, unit 2 ending in 2 etc.

I haven’t received the check in details at the time I arrived the property, and it is around 8pm and there is no staff staying there. My phone is not able to,call the property staff to ask for the check in so we knocked the door of one guest room and ask the guest helped us calling to the staff. Luckily we got a friendly guest and reached the staff via phone and finally our check in is success. Otherwise we can’t imagine where we can stay at that night. Btw the room is good, well decorated…

Room was clean and comfortable. Walking distance to the jetty and restaurants. Breakfast was basic but all you need. Would stay again.

Quite nice. The balcony area upstairs is nice to sit for a drink. The location is really good, close to both the town/ restaurants/ shops as well as the beach. The room we had was really small and unfortunately the drinking glasses in the room were dirty so we needed to wash them before use. Breakfast was supplied which is always a bonus. Its very close to neighbours and across the road to the camp ground so a bit noisy.

Room was nice. Location was good. Did not receive email with instructions on how to get in. Took 1/2 hour to get instructions, then no room number. Breakfast was rather minimal. Ended up going out for food.

When I checked in late in the evening, someone else was in the room, giving us both a terrible fright. Had to call the afterhours number then knock back on the door again to check what name the other people were booked under. They were in the wrong room. Unsure how this happened as I had the correct door code, was told perhaps the cleaner let them in. It was very embarrassing for me even though I had not done anything wrong. I ended up taking the room they should have had, but felt quite unsettled the whole night as I was worried someone might barge in on me! Breakfast was very basic and the room was cramped without any space between the tables. Of course the people I'd walked in on last night came down at the same time and I was too mortified to stay for breakfast with them sitting right next to me. The property is lovely and the room was pleasant and clean, but it was not a very nice experience I'm sorry to say. The manager person was apologetic but there was no offer of compensation for the mistake, which would have been appreciated.

Great location within walking to the Jetty and very good restaurants and bars. Small kitchen area with limited continental breakfast. Excellent staff willing to help whenever possible.

The guest house is tired. Carpets have holes, breakfast room needs upgrading and gardens tidied up. There are no ocean views. On a positive , bathroom good and bed excellent. Finally offering breakfast from 8 am is too late.

Super close to the beach. Easy few minutes walk. Room was comfortable although you could hear other guests and stairs to rooms upstairs were very steep. Easy parking out the back. The breakfast consisted of cereals, bread, yoghurt, fruit and a coffee machine that made really good coffee. Would happily stay here again for a short stay.

It’s a good location. An easy walk to the jetty area. Our bed was very comfortable and there was lots of hot water. There are no staff on site but entry was hassle free. Good parking on site.
