Amazingly beautiful historic hotel in a beautiful part of California. Exquisite parlor, rooms, dining room. Delicious healthy home cooked breakfast. Great employees. I will go back again and again.

Two stars because set breakfast was mother's home-cooking, with two sweet hired girls serving 5 tables. One star otherwise. Hoping this would be the nicest stay of 8 accommodations in our 3 weeks in California, I was sorely disappointed. It was the worst; with later insult added to injury. First indication was the cracked glass in the front door; then small sign at owner's desk advising a currently non-functioning hot tub. Owner described the several restaurants in the small town. Not much else open. He suggested a walk for activity which we did take, discovering little activity in the town. Our room was a sad surprise, a mishmash of furniture, lighting, kitchen sink, but no refrigerator, a bath tub within the room, a separate compartment with toilet and sink. A renovated bathroom with shower was excellent, but across a hallway. As to lighting, the lights adjacent to bed were too dim to see for reading. The table lamp was difficult to use, the wardrobe in corner was too dark to use, had no hangers, and would not hold my suitcase which thus had to be placed on the table. Similar lighting problems at other side of room. The worst of the room was the stand-alone roaring air conditioner, over which the road roar of accelerating loud trucks and cars went on 'til toward 10 or 11 pm, indicating life speeds past this town. I early discovered that the door from the room onto the veranda actually could be opened, however there was no sitting furniture on the dirty porch. Later in the

We were bummed that the Hot Tube wasn't working. But other then that, all expectations were met. The Inn was well decorated. We enjoyed some time in the yard. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

The American River Inn is a cute old hotel located in Georgetown, CA. Established in 1853 if definitely has CA Gold Rush credentials. I loved the place and just generally love this sort of walk back in time cute and classy hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the atmosphere charming. If you are going to stay in the CA Gold Country do things right and stay at the American River Inn in the heart of historic Georgetown.

If you’re visiting Georgetown for its history, the American River Hotel is the perfect place to stay. A stunning building, with an interior to match. Every room is unique and charming. The owner/innkeeper and his mother are truly gracious hosts.

Great historic site.

This is a jewel we found for a birthday trip for my wife. It was like stepping into a piece of history. The decor was amazing. There was a sitting room downstairs where the hosts provided a wine and cheese reception. Breakfast at the big table in the morning was amazing. The room was comfortable and perfect for us. The staff was extremely friendly.

My feedback is constructive criticism because I want the place to stay open! We love the inn! The older lady at front desk really struggled with basic communication. We were asked THREE times if we were part of a group checking in. We weren't. She scowled at me when I asked when wine and cheese was served and said "oh, you want wine??? Fine- I guess I'll call my son back." She seemed upset when I needed to go back to the room after check out because I left my swimsuit in the shower (more on that later) because she was "just about to take a nap". I'm patient to a point but basic hospitality services are appreciated especially when you have been traveling for 32 hours to get there. Inhospitable staff will bring a place to a full stop so fast- please hire someone who can do the job. The hot tub has zero lights and a 6" gap between the deck and the tub. It's a broken ankle and lawsuit waiting to happen. Please install lights and close that dangerous gap! Paid for 2 extra family members at breakfast, were given a rate via email and the request to bring cash, and when we handed Jason the $20 bill he said oh, that's the old rate. Not cool. I had left my swimsuit in the shower. I went back to check even though the lady said the girls already cleaned the room & didn't find anything...swimsuit was still in shower + my dirty towel + the dirty sheets and someone else's clothing in the armoire. GROSS. Got a 1 night credit so I'll clean the bathroom again myself next visit. :-/

Everything was good or better Except no convenient area for pet relief. There is mo grass. Pet areas are dirt which is not good for them or carpets. Overall great rooms: clean, comfortable and decently priced

However, there are things that could be modernized, like the locks on the rooms and bathrooms. 2 of the 3 rooms I booked had increasingly uncomfortable and squeaky beds, no Kleenex in the rooms, the main bathroom we used had nothing to dry our hands after washing them. While the bedrooms were very hot, the hallways and main part of the B&B was freezing.

Breakfast was really delicious and the girl who cooked it for us was very sweet!! The room did have cobwebs and they didn’t provide any shampoo, conditioner, or soap, which would’ve been nice to know. Overall good stay.

Lovely historic inn. Very clean and excellent breakfast. Definitely would recommend.

Our plans changed and the owner was very accommodating with our late arrival the first night and having to vmcancancle a day at the end. Very nicely and well maintained Victorian bed and breakfast. Our room was rather small so there was no where to sit. But that was a minor issue. We were there for breakfast on the first morning and die to the time breakfast was served we were very specific we would miss day two but be there again for day three. We cam down 30mins before breakfast, chatted with the staff and other guests the whole time breakfast was being prepared. It wasn't until they started serving that they decided to tell us they hadn't made anything for us. They said they would make something and "have it right out". We left 15 minutes later due to our schedule without breakfast.

We liked the old fashioned décor The floors squeaked so loud when one of us got up to use the bathroom, which was located in the hall, it woke up the person sleeping.

I stayed at the Inn with my mother and we shared one of their twin rooms.From the moment I booked the reservation the Inn keeper was very corgal, she made sure we were taken care of, I needed to make sure we had a private bathroom, some of the rooms share bathrooms and I explained I was trave!ing with my mother and didnt want any suprises when she was utilizing the bathroom. She was happy to reserve a twin with a private bath. The breakfast for each morning, we stayed 3 nights, was a gormet breakfast and made me realize I missed the experience of staying in a B& B. I usually stay in Hiltons and most of the time the breakfast, when it is free , is nothing to right home about. I would highly recommend staying at the historical Inn and will definitly return when I am in the area.

I highly rate this B&B. They were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was fantastic. The Inn is decorated really well and is very charming. I loved it.

We liked the ambiance of the hotel. Everyone is very helpful and kind. Very interested in and attentive to our comfort.

We didn’t read the fine print about the 6 pm check in time. We arrived after midnight. The proprietor was very kind and accommodating despite us having woken her up out of her sleep to check us in.

It was a lovely b&b. We enjoyed the beautiful home very much. Very kind & accommodating. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. Thank you!!!

The buildings architecture and decoration was full of old world charm. Art displayed everywhere and the owner made a delicious breakfast.

I highly rate this B&B. They were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was fantastic. The Inn is decorated really well and is very charming. I loved it.

If you want to experience a Gold Rush Hotel, the American Inn is it! Authentic right down to the floorboards. The owner is super friendly and breakfast was world-class. I would definitely recommend staying here.
