Baymont by Wyndham Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte

Spa/hot tub jets not working, missing blinds in bedroom, no do not Disturb signs, house keeping clean while we were out and threw away things that were not in trash can, the breakfast sucked Scrambled eggs and soggy sausage links hard bread and cereal and you can make your waffles. But that was it no changing the same thing both days no Salt and pepper, Laundry room for guest was nasty and out dated, and no gym to be found anywhere even though they say they have one.

So I’ll start by saying fantastic service, and friendly staff. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was not comfortable at all. It was honestly one of the worst beds I’ve ever slept in. Additionally the hot tub was luke warm and absolutely filthy. I had to shower after sitting in it as it liked like there were bandaids and skin floating in it. Finally there are obviously people that are living there, which is a little weird for a Wyndham property.

It was a bit rough going up and down stairs in the rain. I am guessing it is an older motel so no elevator. The ice machine was broken. However, the laundry came in handy. Breakfast was good. It was easy to get to Sanibel on the day it didn't rain all day.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was very affordably priced and super close to the airport. It doesn't look NEW by any means, but seems decently well maintained. All the staff we interacted with were very friendly. The free breakfast was average - eggs, sausage, make your own waffles (great apple juice though), cereal. Bummed there were no bagels and cream cheese or yogurts! My BIGGEST complaint about the room would be the bathroom light! There is only one light in the bathroom, it is VERY bright, and it is tied in with the exhaust fan. The switch is on the OUTSIDE of the door so has to been turned on before entering. This means when sharing a room with someone, any time you use the restroom at night you blast the entire room with LIGHT and NOISE and it's incredibly disruptive. Needs a second, dimmer, light only option (or night light). The pool was quite warm (almost too warm for hot Florida days), but seemed clean and well maintained and we had a pleasant swim. We were disappointed the hot tub was closed. The pool area towels were empty when we arrived at the pool, but a very nice gentleman brought towels to us! The A/C seemed to have a bit of a mind of it's own. I like to leave the fan function on all night just for noise - but 2 of the 3 nights that feature just seemed to turn off in the middle of the night? It did keep the room cool though, even despite the heat-warnings in effect, so at least we were comfortable. Beds and pillows were comfy too!

The parking lot was well lit. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. The only negative was no shuttle to the airport. I did appreciate the staff put me in touch with a transportation service that was timely, courteous and reasonably priced.

Baymont is a motel style location, meaning that room entrance is from an exterior door. My room was surprisingly nice! Spacious, well equipped, and clean. Given that I needed to walk up a set of stairs and enter my room from an exterior door, I was a little skeptical. However, the room was very nice! There were a few minor housekeeping issues, but nothing that would caution me about staying here again. The location is also excellent, near the Punta Gorda airport and major highways. The lobby and staff were also very good. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to travelers.

The room was clean. The pool, hot tub, and pool area was clean and relaxing. Wish the pool area was open longer hours.

Stayed here while going to Cecil’s Web for the weekend. It was comfortable, nice staff who greeted us and the kids enjoyed the pool. I will say there must be a lot of chlorine or chemicals in the pool because my daughter’s hair turned the greenest it’s ever been, so be cautious with that for light hair. You can tell the property is aged but overall we had a nice stay. Sadly never got to take advantage of the breakfast!

Front desk stated that we had two separate reservations but I had to show the chat pages confirming that I only had one. The floor in the unit was filthy. My husband's new white socks were so dirty on the bottom sole that it would not come out after soaking in stain remover.

The desk clerk was friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tub were maintained. The room was spacious and appeared cleaned. the bedding however, did not look like it had been changed. The sheets were wrinkled and there were very fresh "stains"on the sheets and blanket. It was very late before we noticed and - only had a few short hours to sleep so it wasnt worth the call and hassle at that point. Needless to say, I tried to sleep on the edge of the bed with the top cover - but was very grossed out.

Nothing good. The room was filthy, it stayed filthy. Cleaning was less than spotty, it was atrocious. What an embarrassment for Baymont and Wyndham. Take this one off your list. My room was not cleaned or serviced until Wednesday. There was a toenail on the floor that was there when I got there and there when I left. There was another toenail in the carpet on the stairs. The floors have not been mopped in years, I tracked dirt into the shower and made mud each time. So unclean and disgusting. The lamp on the desk had an outlet taped over (a safety violation). If I would have known how to get out of the stay, I would have. The property was falsely advertised, in my opinion.

The room was dirty and there was a cockroach in the room. Desk said to deal with Expedia for a refund. Stains on pillow case, on wall behind bed, a cockroach and the bathroom was dirty. They tried to clean it but left the rag etc behind on the nightstand. Would like a refund. Have never asked Expedia before for a refund.

This was a fairly outdated hotel. It had a strong musty smell, we found hair in bed (a few signs that the sheets were not changed) and an overall lack of deep cleaning in a long time.

Based on reviews and pictures I was expecting a newer property, but this is an older property that has received a fresh coat of paint and some updating. Rooms were clean with what appeared to be newer furnishings, but bathroom area was somewhat dated with toilet in same nook as shower, limiting privacy. It's right off the Interstate so the traffic noise was notable at night. Overall it was fine for the one night we needed. Staff was very friendly.

Very large rooms and clean. I was apprehensive about a motel at first but was very happy after staying there. I would definitely stay there again.

Just needed a place to sleep for an early flight out. The beds were pretty loud and you could hear everything on the floor above us but the hotel was clean and safe.

AC motor vibrates loudly for 30 secs when engaged. Same with bathroom fan.

Unfortunately the mattress was of poor quality and the pillows were subpar. Hard nights rest or lack there of.

Comfortable room, a little noisy on the pool side but understandable.

Will definitely request a room on front side of complex next time. Freeway traffic kept me up all night.

I would have given this property and outstanding rating as our stay was pleasant right up to the last five minutes. That's when the Manager (Owner) blew it. To start with, the property is an old hotel. But, it was completely updated recently and it is quite nice, and clean. The rooms are very good. Beds are nice and linens are first rate. It is quite different than it was a few years ago under a different brand. The pool is nice and the whirlpool as well. Breakfast is what you would expect. Waffles, Toast, Cereals, Coffee and Juice. No issues at all. The hotel staff was quite friendly and welcoming as well. Internet was strong. No issues. I was able to do work at the table. Cable TV is alright. Until the last five minutes. I was working and had a long video call. The call ran to 11:10 AM. We were leaving after the call. At 11:10 the housekeeper knocked. I told her we were cleaning up to leave. She was very nice and stated it was not a problem. She would come back. Not two minutes later, the Manager comes and knocks on the door. I find him tapping his wristwatch. He says to me "Checkout at 11:00. You need to get out." I explained to him that we were cleaning up and leaving. "He said 11:00 checkout, you need to leave". VERY RUDE. Unappreciative of the customer. Stomped off as if I was costing him business by not being out at 11:00 on MONDAY MORNING. There you have it. I will not return to this hotel now. We did clean up the room, stripped the beds, and piled the towels.

Dead end street with 1 other hotel and fast food so quiet and safe. Walmart SS walkable at about 1/2 mile away along with other stores. Staff was very friendly and helpful

The property was very clean and was spacious. The property was hard to find hidden on what appeared to be a a dead end street. Construction equipment working across from the hotel was noisy! Price was average for the amenities available!

The price was excellent. Was a surprise since the place was so nice and close to airport. Under 10 minutes away!

We just needed lodging close to the Punta Gorda airport for one night. It worked out great. The location was perfect.

Comfortable and clean. Liked having a recliner in the room. The breakfast area was hot, crowded, and set up in the back, so you had to wade through tables to reach it.

The hotel was great for the price . Clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was very friendly. The only thing is they could offer more of a variety for their continental breakfast. Overall the hotel was great .

Breakfast was Okay. Scrambled eggs(?) were suspect as they looked and tasted like something out of a cereal box. Breakfast quality is something we base our lodging decisions upon, so it's doubtful we'll stay there again...unfortunately.
