Fauna is a great hotel: ecologically friendly design with great use of public areas (only issue maybe the lack of an elevator, so if you have ability issues it may not be the best). The restaurant has top-notch dishes and cocktails. It is also set on their top floor, with a terrace that has great views of the city below. If you walk by the hotel, in their main street, it is hard to imagine how spacious and cool the hotel and restaurant are inside. Most of all, I was impressed with their hospitality: all the workers were friendly, accommodating, informative, patient, especially the receptionists. They helped us find tours, taxis and solved any issues. I would repeat FAUNA in a heartbeat!

We loved the hotel and what they have done with the pre-existing older homes, the renovation and reuse of old materials is impressive. We love that they're working at being eco friendly. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The view from our room and from breakfast was amazing. The front desk staff were so very helpful, espcailly Sebastian and Vincent (I believe). Thank you to everyone!

The hotel can not be reached by car(Uber) as they have to stop as the end of the road it’s a pedestrian road, so you have to take your cases down the end of the road which was fine for us but if you are less mobile this hotel would not be good for you as it has no lift. The benefits outweigh the positives , great views from rooftop bar and restaurant; very clean and staff friendly. I would suggest you use Uber , it’s easy and a lot cheaper than the hotel booking you a taxis to the cruise port.

The Fauna is in a great location with a nice rooftop restaurant. The room is pretty basic but comfortable and with everything you need. The hotel details say there is laundry but there isn't. Luckily, there is a great laundry service nearby that does same day service.

Amazing building spread through a number of original Valparaiso houses. Great location in the middle of Cerro Alegre. Great staff, professional and friendly Claudia from reception couldn’t do enough to make my stay one yo remember. Will go back for sure.

Fauna hotel was an amazing experience in a beautiful location. The rooms are adorable and very clean. The breakfast is delicious and the view from the hotel is extraordinary.

As fotos não demonstram tão bem, mas o hotel é claro, limpo, organizado, com decoração rústica e toque moderno. Fomos muito bem atendidos e foi possível até deixar a mala antes do check in e depois do check out. O quarto estava super limpo e possui ótimo espaço. A limpeza do banheiro também impecável, cama confortável, toalhas macias, com shampoo, sabonete e condicinador, além de secador de cabelo. Realmente me surpreendeu em relação a algumas avaliações. Valparaíso é feita de muitos morros e o hotel ainda fica em uma boa localização considerando a estrutura do bairro. Dentro dele existe o máximo de 3 lances de escada, mas novamente, considerando o bairro, super tranquilo para ficar. Café da manhã com opções mais simples, mas acredito ser da região. Vista linda do andar do restaurante e possui ótimo comércio ao redor.

Great location and cool building. Reception could be a bit more helpful, possibly give some local tips like in other places, rather than just ‘hi’. The bathroom was a bit tired looking and the bed very squeaky. Unfortunately there was a plague of termites on our first evening. After an initial clean up that we did, we eventually had to get up on the night and get help from reception with bug spray (most helpful). We then needed to have the window closed and had to ask for a fan as there’s no a/c or way of ventilating the room without the window open. But it would have been better if reception had told us it was happening to make sure windows were shut and so on. We ended up with a room full of dead termites and shed wings which was pretty disgusting. Lastly, on check out the woman who took payment was extremely unfriendly, no smile, no ‘I hope you had a good stay, have a good day, thank you for staying with us’ which left a sour taste in the mouth. these things are so easy to remedy by just paying a bit more attention to details and making more of an effort.

Fauna Hotel is located at mid-hill level of Valparaiso and visit to historic buildings can be done in foot. The hotel also lies in restricted area where large vans are forbidden to enter. Passengers and luggages have to be dropped off the main road and there is a distance of 10 min walk to move between the hotel and drop off location. However, taxi and small vans can reach the hotel at closer range. But still there is a distance of about 30 metres to walk through. However, the hotel staff and friendly and helpful. Breakfast food is good though choice is rather limited. I reccommend the hotel for short stays of one or two days where visit to historical locations is the main purpose.

Simple but charming hotel. Stay here for the view, and tranquility… when the pigeons are not fighting outside 😁 I did not sleep well because of the birds and general noise (obviously completely out of hotel control) but also because the room was stuffy. If you open windows the noise becomes more prevalent, but without opening there is no airflow. Highly recommend the hotel put a floor fan in each room. Otherwise, very kind staff and cute restaurant upstairs.

Fauna Hotel is well located within few steps from Reina Victoria elevator. Staff is kind and helpful, they recommend activities and places to eat. Room was comfortable, nice good quality bed, bathroom has a good size too. We got a room with amazing sea view. Restaurant at the hotel has a very beautiful view too and good food for lunch. Cons: Breakfast is really fair and eggs are available upon request and are not well prepared, bread was awful. Very little offer and fruits not looking fresh either. Our room with sea view was extremely noisy

This is the second time I stay here as I loved it the first time. The free breakfast is great are so are the facilities and the location. The only thing that needs improvement is the staff as they could use being more courteous and welcoming. We were not greeted as we walked in and then they could not find my reservation! At no point in time were they apologetic about it, just overall not very polite both when we arrived and when we left.

Great location and cool building. Reception could be a bit more helpful, possibly give some local tips like in other places, rather than just ‘hi’. The bathroom was a bit tired looking and the bed very squeaky. Unfortunately there was a plague of termites on our first evening. After an initial clean up that we did, we eventually had to get up on the night and get help from reception with bug spray (most helpful). We then needed to have the window closed and had to ask for a fan as there’s no a/c or way of ventilating the room without the window open. But it would have been better if reception had told us it was happening to make sure windows were shut and so on. We ended up with a room full of dead termites and shed wings which was pretty disgusting. Lastly, on check out the woman who took payment was extremely unfriendly, no smile, no ‘I hope you had a good stay, have a good day, thank you for staying with us’ which left a sour taste in the mouth. these things are so easy to remedy by just paying a bit more attention to details and making more of an effort.

Loved the neighborhood and the view from the restaurant on the outdoor patio is amazing! Convenient location if you are taking a cruise. The hotel offers a shuttle. Only downfall is the hotel is hard to find. It’s situated down a path where no cars can go. You will need to walk a bit, and go down some stairs to get to the property.

The hotel can not be reached by car(Uber) as they have to stop as the end of the road it’s a pedestrian road, so you have to take your cases down the end of the road which was fine for us but if you are less mobile this hotel would not be good for you as it has no lift. The benefits outweigh the positives , great views from rooftop bar and restaurant; very clean and staff friendly. I would suggest you use Uber , it’s easy and a lot cheaper than the hotel booking you a taxis to the cruise port.

FANTASTIC! The hotel is located in one of the main walking alleys in Valparaíso. The staff was great, gave us advise and were always helpful. They have a great restaurant with a terrace that rounds up the experience. The only thing to consider is that it might not be accesible to people with reduced mobility.

The Fauna is in a great location with a nice rooftop restaurant. The room is pretty basic but comfortable and with everything you need. The hotel details say there is laundry but there isn't. Luckily, there is a great laundry service nearby that does same day service.

Fauna Hotel is located at mid-hill level of Valparaiso and visit to historic buildings can be done in foot. The hotel also lies in restricted area where large vans are forbidden to enter. The first room they gave me was by the lobby and it was a little noisy and the room small but they were able to change the room to a larger one and a lot quieter. The staff was very helpful with places to go and things to see. They were able to provide transportation to viña Del Mar and Santiago. The overall experience was great.

Boutique hotel, full of charm. Wonderful roof-top restaurant. Staff at desk very helpful. However, if you have mobility issues be aware that there are no elevators. Ask for a room on the ground floor but know that you will have to climb a long flight of stairs for the included breakfast. But it is totally worth it! Would absolutely stay again

C’est un hôtel très bien situé, sur le circuit touristique. La terrasse avec vue (partielle) sur la baie est très agréable. Le déjeuner est très bon. Heureusement que ce n’était pas la période la plus chaude (fin mars) car il n’y avait pas d’air climatisé, je n’en ai donc pas eu besoin. Il n’y a pas de TV, mais ce n’était pas nécessaire pour moi.
