Parking right in front of the door made it easy to unload the suitcase. The room was very clean but a bit dated. Everything was great but the mattress was soft and every time we moved it made noise and bounced us around.

We originally chose it for the price BUT the comfort was more than we could have asked for. It's worth the extra few minutes to get here! Yes it's a budget option but you get a super comfy bed that feels like home, quality mini fridge and freezer, new and cozy towels, clean carpet, solid water pressure, and your own parking spot labeled for your unit.

Ladies during check in and check out were super friendly and very helpful. Room and hotel area itself was very clean. Room/bed was comfortable and the tv had streaming services as well as cable. There were quick grab and go breakfast items which we appreciated. We liked that it had security cameras outside and made us feel safe. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends and family

Well-maintained traditional motel. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Everything was clean and comfortable. Loved the convenient parking! We would definitely stay here again! Wi-Fi was a bit slow, but adequate. A/C was outstanding. Shower head was great for a tall person.

We like the old school motel style with a real door key. We also had 3 small dogs and it was very convenient to just go out the door to walk them without having to go down stairways or elevators. The owners are very nice and personable

I liked that there was a grassy area to walk our dog. I didn't like that not all dogs were on a leash. This caused a problem when walking our dog.

The flowers outside the rooms were beautiful! Our room was very clean and comfortable, refridgerator worked great. The continental breakfast, hit the spot, they had a variety of items to choose from and coffee! The only thing we did not care about, was that we had to go to the office to get ice and actually ask for it.

Loved inside the hotel room. Spic and span clean! Loved the old heater in bathroom still. Outside was cute loved the flowers. Felt like when I was a kid and my parents trips we took in these hotels. The only downfall was didn’t feel to secure with just that little lock. Suggest Bringing a security alarm door jammer and maybe ear plugs. These old hotels are adorable but have thin walls you can hear them in the bathroom sooo 😄

The folks at the front desk were very friendly. Happy to patronize a family owner small motel. The room was pretty standard, not really updated at all but perfectly fine for the night. The fridge was bigger than a typical hotel fridge, so that was a nice touch. The only issue, the shower wasn't cleaned all that thoroughly. The rest of the room seemed clean.

My expectations of this "small town motel" were beyond exceeded. From the call to confirm our arrival time since we were getting into town late, to the welcome at the desk, to the cleanliness and comfort of the room. Details such as nice sheets, comfortable bed and soft towels and a large fridge and freezer to store our food for our stay - made our experience exceptional! If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stay here!

We loved this cozy motel. It was inviting the moment we drove up with all the flowers and clean exterior. The room was typical 2 bedroom unit. Nice and clean. Comfy bedding. The breakfast is pop tarts, granola bars, twinkies, fruit snacks, coffeee, tea, and juice. We grabbed a few things for the road, it was perfect. One small drawback was the traffic noise. But we travel with a fan so the noise didn’t bother us much. Sydney and Todd do a great job making this feel like home away from home. Thanks for the morning greeting Janice.

No matter how nice the staff and how updated the rooms, there’s no getting around the thin walls in these older motels. Couple next door alternated between fighting and laughing until 2 am. Toilet and shower were wonky too.

If you need a place to stay anywhere in the Twin Falls or Buhl area, go out of your way to stay here. Todd and Sidney treated us (and our dogs!) like family. Our large room was super clean, quiet and comfortable, and we enjoyed chatting with our hosts over coffee in the office the next morning. Overall a wonderful experience.

Clean, comfortable, spacious room with good heating (temperature dropped to 28F), comfortable bed, clean bathroom. What more could I want as a solo traveler looking for an affordable overnight? And I checked out with Judy who matched her husband's friendliness and customer service. I seldom write reviews but I want to gine Oregon Trail a shout out.

Staff was very helpful upon check in! Huge thanks to Chelsea for following for my after hrs arrival to make sure either she was there to hand off the keys or to set a lockbox! 10/10 would recommend staying here!

The Oregon Trail in staff were amazing, from calling us for our late check in or sharing their Thanksgiving meals. Much to my Mother's dismay I will be staying here in the future. Coffee was hot, delicious, accompanied by free snacks for my kids each morning. I know any other venture this family does they are sure to spread their joy to many more. I look forward to my next trip here.

I basically just needed a place to shower and sleep for the night, but the gentleman that helped me out - I believe his name is Don - turned it into a pleasant night. He was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The breakfast place he recommended was also very good!!!

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. My stay at the Oregon Trail Inn in Buhl, Idaho (Nov 2–4, 2025) was hands-down one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a motel. I booked through Hotels.com and paid over $200 for two nights — which is outrageous for what this place is, but I had doctor appointments in Buhl and needed somewhere to stay. After booking, I noticed check-in closed at 10 p.m., so I called and spoke with the owner, Todd, to arrange a 10:30 p.m. arrival. He agreed. About 20 minutes later, he actually called me back, demanding to know where I lived. When I told him, he said — and I quote — “Good, because your card is attached to a local ZIP code and I DON’T RENT TO LOCALS!” That was my first clue this guy has no business running a motel. When I checked in, I told him my friend who dropped me off might or might not stay. Nothing was said. But around 1 A.M., Todd actually called my room and told me my friend had to leave immediately because the company truck outside had local plates. He was clearly watching the parking lot and keeping tabs on guests — creepy, intrusive, and completely unprofessional. I’ve stayed at plenty of motels, and this was by far the most uncomfortable, disrespectful experience I’ve ever had. The owner’s “no locals” policy is not only absurd, it’s insulting to the entire Magic Valley community. We’re a small, tight-knit area that supports our citizens and our local businesses. Todd’s attitude and behavior are not acceptable.

About 20 minutes later, he actually called me back, demanding to know where I lived. When I told him, he said — and I quote — “Good, because your card is attached to a local ZIP code and I DON’T RENT TO LOCALS!” That was my first clue this guy has no business running a motel. When I checked in, I told him my friend who dropped me off might or might not stay. Nothing was said. But around 1 A.M., Todd actually called my room and told me my friend had to leave immediately because the company truck outside had local plates. He was clearly watching the parking lot and keeping tabs on guests — creepy, intrusive, and completely unprofessional. I’ve stayed at plenty of motels, and this was by far the most uncomfortable, disrespectful experience I’ve ever had. The owner’s “no locals” policy is not only absurd, it’s insulting to the entire Magic Valley community. We’re a small, tight-knit area that supports our citizens and our local businesses. Todd’s attitude and behavior are not acceptable.

Cute property. The staff was super nice and helpful. The bed could be updated but was comfy and clean. My most important things are Safe and clean and this checked both of those. Restaurant across street and beside hotel were convenient.

We stayed here accidentally bc it had great reviews and was a good price so I didn’t pay attention to where it was located. It’s about 20 min off the interstate and 15 min outside of Twin Falls. It was a great little find though with very friendly staff and a very nice room.

Older motel, but has been well cared for. Quiet. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is not at all fancy, and the coffee is much better at the coffee shop a couple of doors to the West.

It was a little out of the way, which I apparently forgot when I was driving. But the drive was wonderful. Did not expect to see waterfalls in Idaho. The motel was located in a great part of town and my dog appreciated the green grass. I also appreciated that the food options were close and had a drive thru so I could bring my dog with me. The motel was quiet. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The coffee was GOOD. The room was clean and I really appreciated it, especially after a long trip. I forgot how nice motels can be! You park right outside and there are no long trips back and forth unloading and loading when you leave. The room did not have LVP. It was more an indoor/outdoor but such a nice treat. LOVED that.

The towels are as good as any expensive hotel! There are burgers next door, Mexican across the street, breakfast around the corner as well as coffee, juice and snack bars in the office. The room was large and very clean. Parking ten feet from your door. Very nice. Glad we found it!

Had a wonderful stay at Oregon Trail Inn. Front staff was very helpful, personable, and welcoming. Short distance from Twin Falls but worth the drive. The room was very clean and extremely well maintained. Sheets were soft and bed was comfortable. Towels were newer and plush. Breakfast was minimal but adequate for a quick bite (bars, coffee, and tea with some fruit cups and yogurts. Highly recommend based on what you get for the cost.

I want to be very clear about why I rated everything 5 stars individually but gave it a 3 overall: this place is really nice. It truly is. Simple and effective, cozy rooms, very clean, close to some pretty good eateries. If you’re looking for a simple and clean place to stay, you found it. The reason for the 3 star rating is their website and the paper printout they give you specifically says “continental breakfast in the lobby at 8 am”, but there is no such thing. The lobby is not really a lobby, and the “continental breakfast” is not the spread of eggs and sausage and such items as one would expect from the name, but rather a small table where you can get an orange juice and a snack yogurt, or coffee. The receptionist called it “pre-breakfast”, and said if I want breakfast there is a good restaurant nearby. Don’t lie. If you don’t serve something, then don’t claim you do. An establishment not serving a continental breakfast is not going to turn me away or stop me from wanting to come back, but an establishment claiming something and then not doing it will. Falsehoods break trust.

Friendliest staff I have ever encountered on a trip. They even gave our little dog treats and our kids some snacks upon arrival. They told us about great local places to eat. Beds and pillows are very comfortable. Everything was clean. My one small complaint was that the beds creaked a little when moving around. Also I wish the continental breakfast had a little better quality items but at least there was a lot to choose from.

This is a very cute and quaint mom and pop hotel. They had a pretty comprehensive cold breakfast, complete with granola bars, fruit, yogurt, protein bars, Pop-Tarts juice, and coffee. If we ever need lodging in Buhl again, we'll stay there.

We loved our stay at the Oregon inn. Checkin was a breeze room was ready and very clean and tidy. The staff were great so kind and engaging. And lots of selections provided for breakfast much appreciated. We would definitely stay again

Owners and staff care about you and their presentation/customer service. Property served my overnight need thoroughly and conveniently. Check-in was smooth and informative. The owners have a local touch and gave great recommendations. I was attending a family gathering in Hagerman and this property’s location worked well. It was especially nice that the parking space outside my room was numbered and just for me. Coffee in the lobby each morning is a nice touch—medium, dark, decaf—as I couldn’t find a regular, good, drip coffee anywhere around. Room was clean and well-appointed with fridge/freezer, bar soap, and shampoo. It had the things I expect and nothing I didn’t expect. Hotels are moving to comforters with a duvet cover on the bed, but here it’s a top sheet, blanket and bed spread. The blackout curtain was effective. I’m actually glad the Hagerman motel botched and canceled my reservation so I could find the Oregon Trail. I’ll be back!

When I take a road trip I try to stay at old-school motels , just pull the car up to your door easy in and easy out . It's getting hard to find a good clean affordable motel and happily the Oregon Trail Motel is one of the few left. I take this trip every year and plan on staying there from now on .
