I only spent one night while travelling through the area and everything went smoothly. It was a frigid night so I was very happy when I walked into a warm, clean and cozy room. Breakfast treats in the main office at checkout in the morning were also a welcome sight. Tea/coffee, fruit, cereal, yogurt and energy bars were available. *And did I say it was very quiet so I slept soundly !!

Service desk was friendly and welcoming. Only down was in the morning by 8:30, the food selection was GONE! Not a big deal.... we went downtown and enjoyed a nice breakfast in an old 50's trolly-ish style restaurant.

The patio is really a porch that runs the length of the building -- there are rocking chairs on it. I was there to do a concert in a neighboring town. Couldn't have gone any better. Lovely, quiet, clean, and very nice staff.

Cute little place to spend few days if you don't mind the lack of pool, gym, bar, spa, etc. The only miss here was that the booking says that there is breakfast provided, but it's actually just a snack bar in the lobby.

This is an upgraded motel on the main road next to a small river. Not staffed overnight. Breakfast consists of a small area of foods in the check in area, no tables; eat in your room or outside. Clean, comfy bed, 20 minutes to Monadnock State Park.

Easy check-in and out and great location right on route 202. Clean facilities with basic amenities. We've stayed here before and after the renovation. Staff is very friendly we will be back again.

although the electronic check in check out keyless system works well, it removes the human interaction - and that is a big downside as if anything did go wrong or i needed anything there was no one to go to....

We were in Temple for a 3 day equine event and decided to stay in the area. The Riverhouse was about 15 minutes from the farm location. Easy drive, great parking and very convenient to find a dinner location (Bradys was 1/2 mile down the road). We loved our room. It was clean, very comfortable and the AC was Perfect! The office opened promptly at 7:00 so we could have our breakfast and be on our way back to the horse clinic. They even gave us apples for our horses! The staff was very nice and our experience was Excellent! I would definitely stay again!

We were in Temple for a 3 day equine event and decided to stay in the area. The Riverhouse was about 15 minutes from the farm location. Easy drive, great parking and very convenient to find a dinner location (Bradys was 1/2 mile down the road). We loved our room. It was clean, very comfortable and the AC was Perfect! The office opened promptly at 7:00 so we could have our breakfast and be on our way back to the horse clinic. They even gave us apples for our horses! The staff was very nice and our experience was Excellent! I would definitely stay again!

The property is located on a river and has some nicely accessible outdoor seating to enjoy the view. The morning desk clerk Sierra was very helpful and assisted me in finding some gluten free options to eat and had some great suggestions for local shopping.

The staff was very friendly and helpful! And the location was beautiful, right beside the river. I loved that there were tables and chairs set up next to the river and I enjoyed my Keurig coffee there (also appreciated that there was a Keurig coffeemaker in my room).

I have stayed here several times in recent years. The relatively recently upgraded rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff has always been pleasant and helpful, the cost reasonable, and the location conveniently close to the center of Peterborough, with restaurants, stores, etc. Available breakfast is modest.

Pros: good location, friendly staff, decor was new and modern Cons: the upstairs floor was so squeaky every time the people walked around it was so noisy we didn’t get much sleep. Road noise was loud. Room smelled of old stale smoke, seemed to come from heating unit when it turned on. They wouldn’t change our room even tho the second night was not full. Spend $500 for two nights, not worth it.

Such a great stay!! The bed was comfier than home, our room was clean and spacious, they had complimentary packaged breakfast, snacks and coffee available all day, the heat worked great, the TV options were AMAZING… it was truly an amazing stay. I hope I find myself in the area again just to go back! Great local food options too, we had the best meals at the restaurants we ate at. My only complaint would be the paper thin walls but everyone observed the 10pm quiet time rule so it was negligible. Very pleased!!

This stay exceeded my expectations! For the price, you cannot beat this place. The staff were incredible, super friendly and gave really good recommendations for local stops. This place is close by to a lot of restaurants and cool places to visit. We stayed in room 201, it was super clean, spacious, and seemed very up to date. Probably the nicest shower I've ever seen in a motel. Would definitely stay here again when I return to the area!

Renee was super friendly and very helpful. The property itself could use an upgrade but the room was incredible. The room was huge, the ac was working perfectly, big TV and incredibly comfortable bed. I would absolutely come back again. Loved it. I think the price was a bit high for the area.

The rooms were nicely refreshed with good beds with new 55” Samsung TVs. No comfortable chairs though. However, there is no hiding the fact that these are pretty standard motel rooms with limited space.

The Riverhouse is very modern, clean, and quiet. The location was great for visiting relatives in Peterborough. Unfortunately, the bed was slanted, and the slant caused headaches and nausea.

This is an old motel not a "quaint inn". Definitely not a bed -n-breakfast.... breakfast is a granola bar. There is no staff most of the time. Check in is done by leaving an envelope at the desk with your name in it and room number and door code in it (or sending it to your email). Everything was old and pretty damaged. It looked pretty clean and everything worked properly. 4/10 overall

Poor check-in arrangements this visit but otherwise all good - rooms refurbished to a high standard a year or two ago but just begining to show signs of wear and tear. Breakfast facilities are frankly poor : this area needs a rethink.

They Updated the rooms since our last stay and they were nice. Beds were super comfortable and Renee was great and very helpful with checking us in and giving us local recommendations for dinner. Quaint town. Wish we were staying long enough to explore the area more.

There is no one working the front desk past 6:30. My rooms door was already slightly ajar when we got here and the doorframe was cracked.

Contactless check-in which I hate. Not what I expected or was led to believe from website. Place is more like a drive up motel. The river from our”river view room” is practically invisible. The room is adequate but a bit shabby. Nothing nearby. Just a highway.

We came to this area to do a hike at the local mountain. The hotel was conveniently located to where we wanted to be. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. And the quaint little downtown area was within walking distance. Only downside is that due to this being a small town, everything closes very early in the evening.

The rooms are spacious and clean and well insulated. The location is excellent near the city center and restaurants. Staff is very friendly. We absolutely love this place and keep coming back during the ski season.

This is an old motel not a "quaint inn". Definitely not a bed -n-breakfast.... breakfast is a granola bar. There is no staff most of the time. Check in is done by leaving an envelope at the desk with your name in it and room number and door code in it (or sending it to your email). Everything was old and pretty damaged. It looked pretty clean and everything worked properly. 4/10 overall

I only spent one night while travelling through the area and everything went smoothly. It was a frigid night so I was very happy when I walked into a warm, clean and cozy room. Breakfast treats in the main office at checkout in the morning were also a welcome sight. Tea/coffee, fruit, cereal, yogurt and energy bars were available. *And did I say it was very quiet so I slept soundly !!

Service desk was friendly and welcoming. Only down was in the morning by 8:30, the food selection was GONE! Not a big deal.... we went downtown and enjoyed a nice breakfast in an old 50's trolly-ish style restaurant.

I had to be in the area for work and really enjoyed this hotel. It was a super easy check-in and check out with the code. The bed and the linens and pillows were super comfortable. They offer a little continental breakfast. That’s out pretty much all day and coffee I would highly recommend this place.

Cute little place to spend few days if you don't mind the lack of pool, gym, bar, spa, etc. The only miss here was that the booking says that there is breakfast provided, but it's actually just a snack bar in the lobby.

Very comfortable hotel in lovely location, but the breakfast was very limited and disappointing. The last time we stayed there were homemade cakes and muffins. Alas; no such luck this time.

Friendly main office staff, large, spacious room, wonderfully comfortable bed, handicapped shower a plus! TV a bit complicated to operate but good reception. Breakfast had nice variety for on-the-go. Will definately stay there again!

This is a hidden gem! The room was beautiful and felt very fancy, as well as being clean and comfortable. Tastefully decorated The staff were friendly. The only bummer is that breakfast is just snacks and cran juices. Otherwise, a very good stay.

The location was good and walkable to the downtown restaurants and shops. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was very helpful with advising on area hikes. Close to town for shopping and restaurants. We enjoyed Waterhouse and Harlow's Pub. Heard that the Pearl is amazing but did not make it there. Brady's Grill, Beepa and Lulu's Restaurant are in walking distance. Visited Monadnock Eats which is great for grab n go. The last night we enjoyed a firepit at The Riverhouse with family. I forgot the Smores set up which would have been perfect. We all enjoyed the continental breakfast and ease of getting extra towels, Water, Coffee and Ice.

After struggling to get our room info (via contactless "service"), our room was adequate. There was a fair amount of sand outside due to the weather which ended up tracking in and being nasty in our carpet. Complimentary breakfast was unappealing. The best part was the location and the reasonable cost.
