Stayed 5 nights

This place has make up all over it to mask the absolute terrible craftsmanship. Where a wall meets a ceiling or any connecting of surfaces, cracks, paint chipping, dirty pieces of furniture all over the room. The hotel is “5 stars”, but my “4 star hotel” in Cartagena absolutely trumps the Charlee in cleanliness. Also, a resort fee that wasn’t mentioned by hotels.com?? Hotels.com, if you’re reading this, please refund me a night or two, for the above, and for the below. This is really the part that hurt me, because SOMEHOW, Google calls this a 5 star hotel, and it is not. And somehow, this place was nearly 2x more expensive than likely better hotels right around this one. Was in multiple rooms and there is basically no lighting. I don’t know what worry person thought low light is “in fashion” for high end hotels, but they should be fired. On top of that, absolute confusion from the staff on guest we could bring in. We were repeatedly told we could bring one for free and the rest pay, but the person on shift when we brought a guest pretty much rudely demanded we pay, even though we told him of two other reception desk staff who told us otherwise. I don’t mind paying, but the differing answers is absolutely not five stars. The amount required to bring a guest was…massive. Hotels.com, if you’re reading this, please refund me a night or two because what this hotel is able to get away with is awful
