I travel with work a lot and this was one of my nicest stays. The room was lovely, staff where all super friendly and helpful and the location is amazing. Big huge thank you to all at The Barrel Inn. Good parking and a fantastic breakfast also.

Very nice inn. Rooms very good , food and ale very good , staff friendly , the lady who did breakfast got up early to feed us ,and the quality of the breakfast is very good ,cannot fault .

The staff were lovely. A great youthful vibe in the bar/restaurant. Very clean. Special thanks to Helen & Bozena. The food in the restaurant was first class. Superb for travelling to Bakewell or Buxton. The views of the five counties lives up to its name!! Incredible big thumbs up. Look forward to coming back. Beautiful all around xx

Excellent service as soon as I arrived at The Barrel Inn. All the staff I came into contact with were friendly and extremely helpful. From check in, breakfast, bar staff and waiting on. Food was wonderful. Apart from the above what most impressed was when I was out for a walk, Oliver contacted me to see if myself and my husband needed a reservation for that evening. Above and beyond as far as I'm concerned, looking after their residents. As I know from the evening before the pub would have been extremely busy. Well done The Barrel Inn.

Great pub with excellent accommodation (stayed in the 'Puncheon Room') which was well appointed, comfortable bed, lovely spacious bathroom. Had evening meal and breakfast at the pub, both were excellent (can fully recommend the 'Peak district roast leg of Lamb'), and good breakfast option of full English and granola/yoghurt/fruit. Outstanding location which is stunning on a sunny evening. Can happily recommend for any type or length of stay.

I had a lovely weekend at The Barrel Inn. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed. The food both at breakfast and in the evening was delightful. The staff were welcoming, which as a single traveler, is always appreciated. The location was ideal for walking with spectacular views. I recommend this establishment without reservation and will definitely return.

Clean modern room but would recommend paying the extra for a larger room with a view. Food eve meal / breakfast etc was excellent with very attentive staff in all departments. Excellent weekend break. Would recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at The Barrel inn. They were accommodating to our potential late arrival, the room was spotless, cosy and fresh. The amazing view at sunset was stunning and although we were too late to eat dinner there, the breakfast was delicious. We had a brilliant night sleep and great hot showers the following morning. This was a recommendation from a friend and so worth it, we’ll definitely be back.

We stayed for 2 nights. We received a warm welcome, our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. Breakfast was superb and the staff were just lovely what a pleasure

There were no windows in the room. The bed was comfy and a good shower, but it was dark and airless. We stayed for dinner which was very average but the breakfast was good. And the views outside are wonderful. Not great value for money considering how much we paid.

We stayed during a major snowstorm that shut down the roads and left the Inn under-staffed: but the food was still excellent, the service was wonderful, and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had an excellent stay, The chef is brilliant and the owners are both very friendly and very helpful. An excellent experience despite the adverse weather conditions.

Views were superb for miles. Quiet yet picturesque. Food was excellent and used locally sourced produce. Staff were very polite and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful stay with a delicious menu. Thanks everyone for a wonderful stay.

Friendly pub in a fantastic location for views and walks. Easy to park. A great breakfast. TV with Netflix etc Tea, coffee, biscuits in room. Comfortable bed. Quality bedding. Meticulously clean.

There were no windows in the room. The bed was comfy and a good shower, but it was dark and airless. We stayed for dinner which was very average but the breakfast was good. And the views outside are wonderful. Not great value for money considering how much we paid.

Very impressed by the family run Barrel Inn. The food, wine, room (Premier Double) and staff were excellent. Check out the fantastic views.

Clean modern room but would recommend paying the extra for a larger room with a view. Food eve meal / breakfast etc was excellent with very attentive staff in all departments. Excellent weekend break. Would recommend.

Views were superb for miles. Quiet yet picturesque. Food was excellent and used locally sourced produce. Staff were very polite and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful stay with a delicious menu. Thanks everyone for a wonderful stay.

We stayed for 2 nights. We received a warm welcome, our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. Breakfast was superb and the staff were just lovely what a pleasure

Excellent service as soon as I arrived at The Barrel Inn. All the staff I came into contact with were friendly and extremely helpful. From check in, breakfast, bar staff and waiting on. Food was wonderful. Apart from the above what most impressed was when I was out for a walk, Oliver contacted me to see if myself and my husband needed a reservation for that evening. Above and beyond as far as I'm concerned, looking after their residents. As I know from the evening before the pub would have been extremely busy. Well done The Barrel Inn.

Great pub with excellent accommodation (stayed in the 'Puncheon Room') which was well appointed, comfortable bed, lovely spacious bathroom. Had evening meal and breakfast at the pub, both were excellent (can fully recommend the 'Peak district roast leg of Lamb'), and good breakfast option of full English and granola/yoghurt/fruit. Outstanding location which is stunning on a sunny evening. Can happily recommend for any type or length of stay.

The room was lovely although it had roof lights rather than windows which was a shame as the location of the building is breathtaking. The views from the building location are truely stunning, especially as we were there over a spring "heatwave" and it was so beautiful. Because of that, plenty of people were sitting at the fantastic outdoor seating area overlooking the valley. The dinners were excellent which is obviously the other reason it is such a popular pub. The English breakfast was plentiful and perfectly ok but nothing special (no hash browns - WHAAT?), although there was a good choice of other cooked options. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay.
