Very clean. Basic. No decor to speak of. Screened windows are appreciated to avoid turning on air conditioning. But good to have when needed. Also, we appreciated the sports bar and grill next door, as well as its proximity to the Storm King Arts Center.

It’s pretty basic, very clean, and I liked that there was a bar/restaurant right next door. The bathroom was extremely small and the space between sink & toilet quite tight. I loved being able to open the windows & just having the wooded view out back. It’s right off the highway to Newburgh so it was conveniently located for my visit with family.

Small quiet property with a local bar and grill right next door. Confusing accessing the property from the divided highway out front but park right in front of room. This was essential as I was on a motorcycle trip.

This is an older motel, so I wasn’t really expecting much. But was really impressed. Simple, but with everything you need. Comfortable bed, TV, mini fridge, microwave, and AC all worked perfectly. And the room and bathroom were SPOTLESS. None of the “mustiness” that you usually find in older places. And the women at the front desk was wonderful. I stayed two nights this trip in conjunction with a football game at West Point. I’ve already booked two more stays.

I do not recommend. There was a terrible odor and the sink was clogged the whole time. There was not enough toilet paper. I suggest spending the extra money and going elsewhere.

This is a fine, old world motel that’s been well-rejuvenated. Most importantly, it’s quiet ( not downtown) and very clean. The accoutrements inside the room are pretty minimal — tv, fridge, ac and microwave— but my bed was very comfortable, no rickety furniture, no smells, floors are spotless and bathrooms is modern. This is a great bargain!

This unit is bare-bones. Very clean, small, TV/AC/microwave, refrigerator. Two inexpensive full-size beds that were comfortable. Vinyl-wood floors. If all you want is a place to plop and sleep and leave, it is fine but if you are looking for a dresser, coffee-maker, and comfort, this is not your place. No tissues or hair dryer in room. This is essentially "you get what you pay for" and it was clean and did not smell badly. We arrived, and two hours later went to a wedding, returned, slept and left. I had no issues and it met my needs, but I would not spend many days there.

Updated bathroom with new tub/shower, toilet & sink. New flooring through out. Microwave & refrigerator. Cable. Very clean. Friendly check in. Sports bar within walking distance for food & drink. I've stayed at other places for this price, and wasn't pleased. Very pleased with the price for a clean room & place to sleep. It's not a resort, not high-end hotel or high-end price. Highly recommend if all you need is place to sleep.

The guests in the room next to my non smoking room were smoking weed. They also stayed up most of the night and hit the wall all night long and early in the morning until they left. I could hear the traffic on route 9, too. It’s NOT a quiet place at all.

Room is sparsly furnished and in need of repair. Window Covers are not room darkening and I was woken up several times by headlights lighting up the entire room. The only thing good was the price. Would not recommend.

The hotel is cheaper than most in the area, but a good value. There are no in-room amenities such as coffee or a coffee maker. The place is a bit dated but they do their best to keep it up.

The property owners were friendly and attenative. We had a leak in our bathroom and they moved us to a new room immediately when it wasnt a simple fix. They were quick to respond to the issue too. The first room with the leak the beds were rock hard but the room we gor moved to was much nicer with softer beds. It certainly isnt a luxury stay but a descent place to rest your head for the night.

The Cadet Motel was the most affordable motel in the area and was close to fast food restaurants in nearby New Windsor and close to Highland Falls and West Point south on Highway 9W. The room offered two double beds and a satisfactory bathroom.

I was unpleasantly surprised when we went to our rooms. They were not what I expected. It seems the Motel is in a state of transition. I believe owners are trying to update the rooms by themselves, and it shows. I'm glad my son was next door, as I would not have stayed here by myself. We seriously considered leaving but there were no other vacancies in the area. A very nice clean restaurant next door named Ginny's is where we ate. Given time I think this might be a nice place to stay, however it isn't at the moment.

I was unpleasantly surprised when we went to our rooms. They were not what I expected. It seems the Motel is in a state of transition. I believe owners are trying to update the rooms by themselves, and it shows. I'm glad my son was next door, as I would not have stayed here by myself. We seriously considered leaving but there were no other vacancies in the area. A very nice clean restaurant next door named Ginny's is where we ate. Given time I think this might be a nice place to stay, however it isn't at the moment.

The Cadet Motel was the most affordable motel in the area and was close to fast food restaurants in nearby New Windsor and close to Highland Falls and West Point south on Highway 9W. The room offered two double beds and a satisfactory bathroom.

Adequate, a bit musty odor. Maybe it had been raining a lot. Nice bar. Ginnys had good food.

Very clean. Basic. No decor to speak of. Screened windows are appreciated to avoid turning on air conditioning. But good to have when needed. Also, we appreciated the sports bar and grill next door, as well as its proximity to the Storm King Arts Center.

It’s pretty basic, very clean, and I liked that there was a bar/restaurant right next door. The bathroom was extremely small and the space between sink & toilet quite tight. I loved being able to open the windows & just having the wooded view out back. It’s right off the highway to Newburgh so it was conveniently located for my visit with family.

Small quiet property with a local bar and grill right next door. Confusing accessing the property from the divided highway out front but park right in front of room. This was essential as I was on a motorcycle trip.

This is a better motel than you think it is just by looking at it. Believe me when I tell you it’s a decent value for your money compared to elsewhere. It’s a spartan and very clean room. Mattresses were seemingly too soft on first impression - but I slept like a baby! Wish I had tried them sooner than the last year my DS was a cadet.

Really deserves 2.5 stars. Staff was pleasant and professional. Outside and room are a bit run down; but mostly clean. Room had a fridge and microwave but spotty internet and hot water with poor water pressure. Only 1 cup and 1 bar of soap for amenities. Not sure if there were other guests as it seemed most everyone there lived in the rooms, including the strong smell of pot in the morning. Place seemed safe enough though. I’d give it 2 stars but staff brought it up a bit. Ok for the night; but a bit overpriced and better places and values closer to Highland Falls. I would not stay again.

the bathrooms were dirty, the place needs some TLC, the location is right on 9W so convenient but hard to get to unless by car. The place needs some inexpensive upgrades and its amazing what a difference a deep clean would make. sit on the toilet and you see the filth. i recommend a new cleaning service and inspections before guest arrivals. the ONLY thing i felt comfortable using were the towels. the bed sheets were clean but the coverlet and summer blanket had bleach stains (ihope) and were cheap and cheesy.
