Radium Chalet

The property and facility were somewhat run down, in need of proper cleaning in the bathroom, eaves troughing above the patio to keep the rain from pouring off the roof onto the patio where moss and mold are deteriorating the siding and railing.

Rooms were clean. Found 3 western seed bugs in room, probably common to area. It could use some upgrades on exterior railings and stairs need attention for safety wise. Fireplace to heat unit needs servicing.

The bathroom tub drain was making noises all night. TV and wifi not working. Would be 5 stars if we had all amenities working.

Old property that is run down and in desperate need of an upgrade. Hardly anything in the kitchenette. No cable TV. Hasn’t been touched up in 25 years or more. Not worth staying there.

Very disappointed how rundown the property is. My biggest complaint, was no TV,the cable wasnt working. Front desk person said owner cancelled csble.l,was in process of ordering smart TVs. I wanted to watch playoff hockey,I said why wasnt i told of this at check in. I was offered a feeble, stupid apology

This hotel is tired. The biggest issue are the stairs to rooms and outside. Great location and fabulous views.

This place has so much potential but i feel like it’s not being taken care of. The property indicates a sauna but it doesn’t work. Also says fireplace in every room but ours didn’t work. We tried to ask but could rarely find any staff. Also no continental breakfast even though again, they advertised it. Overall the room felt somewhat clean but the outside door had a gap. It still locked though. The ice machine was clearly broken even though we were told he was cleaning it. This place has a beautiful view though and nice walking trails in the back. If some TLC could just be out into it, I feel like it could be rented out all season long!

No heat turned on. Had to ask for after a cold night thinking thermostat broken. Deadbolt broken. Missing x2 light bulbs. Blinds on door was broken and filthy. Fireplace did not work. Sofa was totally worn out and unusable. Extremely poorly supplied kitchenette. Bedroom window broken glass that was taped together with duct tape. Absolutely NO service...ice machine in main lobby which was locked from 5pm to 12noon thus not available to use. Front desk in lobby was "open" 12noon to 5pm when manned. Property and rooms in desperate need of repairs and updating. Needs TLC. Service needs to be greatly improved as non-existent. No garbage collection and no garbage bags available. Had to buy our own garbage bags and took garbage out of room to a dumpster off-site (bear country so didn't leave around). Room could be awesome as scenery from balconies was absolutely gorgeous. Location of Chalet on mountain side is perfect for providing a fabulous view of Radium Hot Springs.

When we got here the lobby was locked up and dark. We tried calling the numbers listed online and through expedia and all were out of service. We finally found a guy wandering around and he's just taking care of the place for the owners who are having problems. The wifi, cable and phones have been cut off in this establishment and we are the only people here. He gave us a key to the room we booked online and we are allowed to stay the night tonight. The place should be taken down from expedia as it's not really in operation. The man that helped us was very friendly though. Surprised to see us as well.

The bathroom was filthy. The shower curtain smelled like urine, the towels were stained, overall just smelled really bad in there and looked absolutely disgusting. The beds were okay and looked somewhat clean. The kitchen was gross, and there was a weird blanket of a random family put up on the wall. The service was good, the guy answered my questions/ calls and was nice & accommodating.

The place needed a good vacuuming. The bathroom fan was filthy and the tub was rusty, the air conditioner was filthy. The kitchenette was a joke. Creative photos on line made it look bright but it was gloomy. The separate bedroom had the door removed. The coffee maker didn’t work.

Sadly, this is a property that has been neglected / ignored for many years. Our group booked 4 rooms. All were below cleanliness standards, and there were quite a few and varied repairs needed throughout. There are issues that have obviously been ignored for a very long time. There were tables falling off walls, broken fireplaces, and very unclean rooms. In one room, the stones around the fireplace that fell off were just left there! (At least you could bother to take them away). They say you have a "kitchenette". No you don't. You have a microwave and the usual tiny fridge we see in EVERY hotel. You cannot cook. They don't give you more than two forks, two spoons and two knives. They kindly tell you to do your own dishes - but it is pretty hard when you don't have a way to put water in the sink, or a towel to dry your dishes. We stayed three nights. They never returned to the rooms once in the three days to replace a coffee pods, or ensure the rooms were somewhat in decent shape. Flies in the fixtures in the bathroom. Don't look up in the bathroom to the ceiling fan. It is caked in years of dust. Don't look in a corner anywhere. They haven't seen a vacuum in a very long time. The bathroom walls are streaked with condensation drips and some drips I don't want to do a CSI investigation on. I would never return.

Never go to this hotel. It’s a health concern. Mold is all over the bathroom tiles . Toilet is leaking, Absolutely nobody clean the room probably for a year I would say. Fridge is sticking drawers where you supposed to put clothes are very dirty inside, carpets smell urine, dishes was dirty. Microwave is absolutely dirty . Air conditioner was so dusty when you turn it on the dust blow out on you. Unsanitary conditions. I asked him to change the room and they refused it, Seeing you can write a complaint to the owner. This hotel is absolutely not livable. Do not waste your money, even one dollar on this hotel.

the windows were open (winter) leaving the room cold upon arrival, It was dirty and very much not what I expected for a high class place

This place has gone downhill since we were there 2 years ago. Ownership has clearly changed. Toilet was dirty, towels were paper thin, shower curtain had that pink mold. Not coming back

This property has improvements made in the interior paited walls white trim and crown molding. Paneled glass door between the sleeping area ang the living area. The unit was vacuumed in the visable areas. The bed was clean the rest was not clean. Dust was visible on the floor boarsd the small kitchen area was not clean, the coffee machine and coff supplied was not clean , the bath / shower has a scum build up, one of the drawers had some of the previous tennant items in iy. Under the bed was very dusty plus a brown paper bag and a vape pipe labled THS which was placed in the paper bag and placed in the garbage can. The hideaway couch bed was stained ans should have been dumped when the room was painted. The bathroom toilet water hose has a visible layer of dust on it. We stayed in the unit for a maximum 6.5 hrs.and left by 6 am. Other then the poor cleaning it is a quaint place.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Radium Chalet, booked through Expedia, to celebrate our wedding anniversary.Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. The room was unclean, with soiled toilet facilities, dirty surfaces, and visible hair and insects, which made our stay uncomfortable. Despite reporting these issues to the front desk, no alternative accommodations were offered. We sought a resolution through Expedia, but were told that refunds are subject to the hotel's policy. Given that we did not voluntarily cancel but instead were faced with unacceptable conditions, we believe we were entitled to a refund. Both the hotel and Expedia failed to address the situation satisfactorily. It was a disappointment.

The police had old school charm, but the towels and linens were extremely cheap and worn, the tub was plugged and filled when you showered, and it was not very clean, lots of dust built up on the baseboards Etc especially in the bathroom. Fireplace also didn't work

Sheets had dark hair on them. Pillows were old yellow and lumpy as if they’ve never been changed. There was dark hair on the bathroom walls and a knife just sitting on top of the towels in the bathroom when we arrived. The bathtub backed up while having a shower. The couch was dirty and there is no sound proofing which made the neighbours very loud

We normally love staying at the Radium Chalet, but couldn’t believe how run down it was this last time. It’s never fancy but certainly never this bad. Our room was so hot and even though we turned off both thermostats (one was loosely hanging on the wall) it was so uncomfortable we couldn’t sleep. One slept in the family room for our couples retreat. We tried to find help to see if it could be resolved but no one was ever at the front desk. The ceiling fan didn’t fit in the bthrm and was hanging off, the rocks on the fireplace were half fallen off, the outlet in the bedroom was only accessible by pulling out the drawer and leaving it on the floor. The vanity veneer was peeling off, the rolling blinds were duct taped up and ratty, and the walls and trim were chipped up and damaged. It would take so little money and a couple days of effort to get this place up to par but it seems they don’t care to ensure it’s a comfy stay for guests. I hope they fix it as we would like to return if these things are addressed. The views, room set up and pet friendliness are all great! But we need to be able to sleep!

It was an extremely hot day. When we got into our room it was excessively hot. After some investigation we discovered a baseboard heater was on high. The bedroom should have opened but it was stuck shut. The air conditioner in the little livingroom did work when we turned it on but the entire from was busted on it and the filter was filthy. Not overly safe. Besides the ac filter, the room was reasonably clean and we got the sleep we needed.

The property had a great view the room was charming. The AC was not in the bedroom, the bathroom door was stuck open, the property itself was dated.

Room cleanliness was a little questionable, our bedsheet had a hole in it, and fireplace did not work. Walls and ceilings are paper thin so expect to hear your neighbours and anything going on outside. Place is quaint and lots of old character though, and the views are gorgeous!

The view was awsome!! Other than that it was not a great property. The couch didn't sit great as the mattress for the hide a bed was missing. The doors didn't seal. The air-conditioner was in the living room and didn't cool the bedroom.

Was a Very strange experience. Beautiful building and view, but it feels like things have been updated as cheaply as possible, while still keeping the main fixtures from the 70s (toilets, beds, wiring, ammenities.) felt like it was one girl working there. (Very friendly,) but had an issue in the room and tried to call the front desk, the phone didn’t work so had to fiddle with it, and once I got it barely working the phone number that was listed for the front desk was not in service. Went down to the front desk and there was no one there. Tried to Check out the next morning and left at 8am, and the lobby was locked and lights were off. Just an overall strange experience, could be an amazing hotel, but would avoid at all costs until it gets must needed updates and more staffed.

We had a super fabulous one night stay. The room was super clean and comfy and the views were amazing. The staff was extremely kind and had lots of great tips for dining and getting around. Would absolutely stay here again!

View is awesome its quiet , no breakfast or dinner options you have to go to main office and phone for assistance for check in or issues otherwise no one around, they do come when you call

It used to be a very nice hotel. We stayed there a few times before. This place is a health hazard. Room has a mould stink. Rotten board at the bottom of the sink cabinet was sprinkled with a baking soda. Fridge stinks. Half of the electrical plugs don't work. The room light is coming on 10 minutes after you flip the switch. Only one of two bathroom lights was partly working as it took about five minutes for it to be bright enough in order to see anything. The mould stains coming through painted bathroom sealing. The pillow case was dirty with a questionable yellow thing stuck to it. The power in town went off for about an hour, that was not hotel's fault however, the WiFi became available again two hours after the power was restored. TV remote doesn't turn TV on. The carpet is in a rough shape. We are definitely never going to stay there again.This place is in urgent need of the serious repairs and renovations. I surprised that it's permitted to operate under current conditions.

The staff was really nice and eager to accommodate to my needs. The view is superb. The only "not so good thing" was that some of the dishes in the suite were dirty, but nothing I want able to do myself. I am willing to stay there whenever I go back to Radium

The room was clean and a nice layout, but unfortunately the positives end there. Strong smell in the older rooms. Main complaint is complete absence of staff or service. When we arrived at 4 to checkin, no one was at the desk. We had to call a number and wait for them to arrange for someone to come to the hotel. Same situation a few hours later, when, at 7 pm we and other guests were waiting in the lobby needing assistance and no staff. Some locked out of their rooms, some needing to check in, all of us just stranded in the lobby trying to call someone and ultimately waiting half an hr before anyone even arrived. The manager was reluctant to even send someone at all at first. So, if you’re expecting a stay with literally any single staff present at all let alone the ability to serve guests, might need to check elsewhere.

This property seems to have a staffing shortage which is perhaps why we didn’t have a great experience here. The person at the front desk when we checked in seemed very distracted and did not explain what was being charged to my credit card. I was charged some extra fees in addition to the room deposit. Turns out it was something to do with Expedia, which I still don’t understand, and I ended up resolving it after we checked out. I was not given a proper receipt despite asking for one. As well, there is no mention of a nightly pet fee on their website or in the description of the hotel on Expedia, yet I was charged $20/night. thankfully Expedia was able to resolve the erroneous charges. The room was a pet-friendly/accessible room on the first floor. Not one of the renovated rooms pictured on their site or Expedia. Old finishings, tub surround was stained, and toilet seemed to use all of the hotel’s water supply every time it flushed. We had one tiny roll of toilet paper upon check-in and had to figure out how to get more on our own as there was never anyone at the front desk. The room did not seem super clean, and I ended up cleaning the air conditioner myself because it was covered in dust. I wouldn’t stay here again. Not enough staff, pet friendly rooms are really shabby and kind of dirty, and they were not forthcoming with the charges on my credit card.

Property is showing its age a little, was not the cleanest hotel I've been in, but is in a great location, room had lots of space and was good overall value for money as the cost was very reasonable.

Great spot up the hill with a view og distant mountains & clouds/ misty mornings!!!

Ultra quiet. As building is concrete skeleton. Great value rack rate seeing as was peak season & other props were $250-300. Building is elderly but solid, yes, the fixtures & fittings are uh- “vintage” and “well loved” but it doesn’t really matter as everything works. Kinda feels like a mini your Grandma’s apartment. Could it do with a lick of paint & some refitting? Sure. Does it make much of a difference once the lights are off & your eyes are closed? No. I’ll probably stay again, it has a cheesy charm to it.

Overall the stay was great. The property is not new, but great for the price. Location in relation to the hot springs and town is awesome and the views in all directions are amazing! Would definitely stay there again

We had a corner room on the top floor. It had the million dollar view of the town below and the mountains around us with the 2 large decks that we had.The chalet itself looks majestic up on the side of the hill. I like staying there but the rooms still looks and smells like they are 40yrs old. Also being on a side of a hill it was not close to anything while having basic amenities.

Radium Chalet has a perfect location, it is close to the center of the town, hot springs and the main roads, but it has a distance that makes it more quiet and calm than other nearby hotels. However, it could use an update, it has a feeling of being a little old.

The views from the balconies of our suite were incredible and made the stay super. The condition of the suite was very tired (in need of a renovation) and the furniture in the living room was minimal (one couch and one lamp). It would be great if the owners transformed the inside of the rooms to be as great as the view. The breakfast is now a to-go snack since they are renovating the restaurant; this was disappointing.

Beautiful views from the balconies of the rooms. There were mountain goats by the roadside/driveway just hanging out. The continental breakfast could be improved.

The view from our room was amazing! The hotel room was great, the breakfast included with the room was less than impressive. For the price we paid per night almost 300.00 incl taxes, we were served cold hashbrowns, scrambled eggs and brown beans with an option for old looking oranges…

The chalet itself is a little run down, the cleaning in the rooms was sub par, and the contintetal breakfast was less than desireable. The plus of this location is the stellar views, you are above radium on a hill so away from the noise, friendly staff, and withing driving distance of some awsome sights to see. Over all the stay was ok but probaly not going to be a repeat stay

The stay was very average - the main reason for booking this specific place was for the breakfast... heads up that they do not have a breakfast. They set up juice boxes, apples and oranges from 8am-10am to have 'breakfast'. Seeing as this was a ski trip for myself that did not suffice and I managed to spend another $30 to get hot coffee and a filling breakfast elsewhere. Considering that extra price cost, you could easily find a better stay that would include a breakfast. The room was extremely hot and smelled of mildew upon arrival. Luckily it was only a night stay and the shower and bathtub was not needed as they were pretty disturbing looking.

It was beautiful located on the side of the mountain overlooking Radium, but the rooms were older, and there needs to be a better place to eat. Dining was terrible

Overall a very lovely stay. Reception is very kind and the complimentary breakfast was lovely. Very good coffee. The fireplace was a nice addition and the view as absolutely stunning. We will definitely return.

Beautiful view . We always stay on the 3 rd floor with the beautiful view. When we stayed in 2022 the breakfast was nice . This year we didn’t enjoy the breakfast as much . Whenever we go to Radium we always want to stay here 😊

Pros: Amazing views, which is why we booked here. Room has a mini fridge and microwave. Cons: No attention to detail in the cleaning process (if I can see it, so should they), overall dingy feeling, several outlets not working, sliding bathroom door broken. Horrible breakfast included (and no staff around in the kitchen at breakfast), no staff in general (there was someone there when we checked in during the afternoon, but in the morning when we left in the morning at 9am, the office was closed with a sign saying to put keys in basket.

After check in and they have your money there’s no one on the property, it’s a fend for yourself! . No cleaning staff and the room was dirty, no coffee, no dish cloths , no face cloths , no one around to ask for anything. The restaurant was open for breakfast but unsupervised, it never opened for dinner, lots of unhappy guests , the breakfast was ok but the best and only part of our stay was the wonderful views . It was a strange experience , the office always locked up and no one around 🤔
