We went specifically to this hotel because when we stayed at the Golden Nugget, owned by the same company that advertised a pool, we discovered that the pool was actually at Gold King-1 mile away. When we arrived at Gold King we were informed that the pool was closed and that we should have told when we scheduled. Our first room had a heater that unacceptably loud rattling. We were moved to another room, with lights so dim that we could not read. There was a USED/DIRTY towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door. The bathroom was so small that if someone was on the toilet you could not close the door. The tabletop in the room was loose and the bathroom faucet leaked. The shower water was luke warm! At the hottest setting, it was barely warm. The only good part of this stay was the front desk gentlemen that checked us in. He was very pleasant and apologetic. He quickly moved us to a new room, with a better view when I complained about the noisy heater. He recommended a great restaurant for breakfast. I would NOT recommend this hotel or stay here again.

I booked for the use of the pool and hot tub as they're the only ones in Cripple Creek who have one. Pool broke down days before we showed up. Hot tub worked and we got a discount for the inconvenience of not having the pool.

Hotel was great for the price point! Older but kept up with. Galway’s did smell of cooked food, it just made us more hungry than anything. Pool was amazing, only down fall is it’s not really walkable to the main part of town due to being on a steep hill!

The property is fine. The parking lot is in a safe area. My main issue is that I came here on a motorcycle many hundreds of miles and wanted to take advantage of their advertised hot tub. Nope. I just hate being lied to. If you advertise you have something, then have it or fix your listing. The hot tub has been down 8 weeks they said. I can underbid it JUST happened. Then they put me in a room right by the elevator and lobby in a room with an AC that makes a terrible clicking sound intermittently. They said they couldn’t move the room. Then a little after 4am, they cranked the tv in the lobby up and I got to wake up to Alaskan Goldminers and their drama since my door is right there next to it. So, if you don’t mind being lied to and don’t really need any sleep, this is a great place!

Check-in staff was super pleasant when we called about a late check-in and when we checked in. However, the room smelled awful and there was a dirty washcloth and hair in the tub. The A/C was super loud. It was really run down and we couldn’t get the smell out by running the fan. Didn’t feel comfortable with it. Actually were planning 2 nights but with how it smelled we cancelled the 2nd night and found another spot.

Rooms were surface "clean" but there was mold in shower and the ac units were filthy. Bed sheets were stained and the floors were dirty and had spill marks . The longer we were there the more you see. Beds felt very old and worn felt like I was falling through. The pictures when booking were not what we walked into. The advertisement set false expectations and so we were very let down for the cost of the rooms .

Room had a wonderful view. It could definitely use some upgrades and a deep cleaning. The man at the front desk was so nice and welcoming. There were dogs in a room a few doors down that barked all night which was super unpleasant.

Don’t believe the pictures of this property. First there is not a casino here, nor arcades. Those are in town about 2 miles away. The swimming pool is ice cold and dirty just like the hot tub. There are showers in the swimming pool area, but the ladies shower has a huge hole around the faucet…great for a disgusting person to watch you shower! The showers had hair all over the floors both in the shower areas and the dressing area. The men’s showers didn’t have hot water. There are no amenities here such as a continental breakfast. The hallways have a weird smell to them; the rooms are nasty! Your socks stick to the carpet; there was someone else's hair on the bathroom sink, the bedding is dingy and stained and reminds you of just looking at sheets. Not to mention all the dirt. There doesn’t seem to be any level of standards for cleanliness…or advertising the hotel in an away that depicts reality. Don’t stay here…there are much better hotels for $200 bucks!!

The table between the beds was pulled out from the wall revealing spilled cheerios. The bathtub had a soap scum ring and the hair in the drain was a little gross. It would have been nice to have coffee available in the lobby in the morning. The bed was comfortable though and the view was amazing. I felt it was a bit pricey for the lack of amenities.

Great stay! We enjoyed the placement of the hotel being on the edge of Cripple Creek. It was quiet, staff were friendly, and the cost was low. Truly a great place to stay and one I will recommend to anyone who asks. Beds were comfy, rooms were clean, and the staff and guests were so friendly. Made our family vacation a positively memorable one.

The views from even the 1st floor were really good. The road leading to the property was a little bumpy. Maybe a walkway/ stairway down the hill to get to the sisters hotel/casino would be good.

This is a Golden Nugget property with Motel 6 vibes. The Golden Nugget needs to put some serious money into this building. However, I knew this going in. For the price point, you get what you pay for. Pool was nice. Beds are terrible. Hotel is old and grimy. Staff was great.

We usually stay at the GKMI but this time around it’s been terrible. When I checked in I had two rooms reserved. They gave one room to someone that was not me. Didn’t ask for ID or anything. Just took their word for it. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and broken. The hallways smell like marijuana and when I asked not only the staff but the supervisors information they all gave me different answers or they didn’t know. The promoted a discount and no one had any idea how to even get a discount. It was awful. The supervisor made it seem like it was ok that they gave my room to someone else because they had the same last name as me. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

The reservation I made through Expedia never made it to the actual hotel. Therefore I had no resevation. Could not stay. Had to drive an hour away to get a room. Extremely disappointed and frustrated with Expedia. Not sure if I will use Expedia again.

The pool area was very clean. The rooms were comfortable and clean. My main compliment goes to the staff. They were so friendly and accommodating!

When I first arrived I had a reservation. I didn’t arrive till around 5:30pm. The front desk lady had no customer service told me they didn’t have any rooms ready. I said umm check outs are 11 check ins are 4 and no rooms ready and she just said no like I was bothering her. So I asked how long before one would be ready and she said oh about an hour and a half to two hours I said you’re kidding right no she says again and that’s it. Very rude didn’t seem to care at all that I didn’t have a room ready nor did a few other people so I went down to the golden nugget, which is what two blocks and I asked that lady if they had any rooms and I told her my situation she’s like what’s your last name so I told her she looked me up on the screen and said oh your room is ready I said the girl just told me there was no rooms and the golden nugget lady said it was. Sorry, get back to back up the hill again tell the front desk lady that I went down to the Golden Nugget and they said my room is ready then she finally asked what is my last name because she didn’t the first time, so she was like yeah a couple rooms just opened not very happy with that girl whatsoever and a few others did not like her as well. Definitely would be a better place without her at the desk. Everything else was great!!! And all the other workers i encountered especially the cleaning guy. He was the best I had to go to the gas station down the street to get more cash so I could run back up there to give him a tip

We got there and was told they didn’t have our reservation and we would have to find another place to stay. There was not another place available. My boyfriend ride his motorcycle all day from Parker and this was at 6 pm with rainy weather. There was no way he could ride back to Parker. Finally my son who came in from PA said to speak to a manager. I spoke to a manager over the phone and finally got a room. Then they wanted to charge me $198 instead of $164. Finally got the room for the same price. The 2 people working were great and it was beyond their problem. Was not worth it for the price.

Great stay! We enjoyed the placement of the hotel being on the edge of Cripple Creek. It was quiet, staff were friendly, and the cost was low. Truly a great place to stay and one I will recommend to anyone who asks. Beds were comfy, rooms were clean, and the staff and guests were so friendly. Made our family vacation a positively memorable one.

My daughter and I stayed 6 nights in July. The hotel is not connected to the casino, but it's just a short drive to it. I think there is a shuttle that will take you there also. Our room was on the 3rd floor. Nothing fancy, but clean and roomy. We were gone most of the days, but the evenings were nice and quiet. Beds were comfy, water was good and hot, shower worked great. Small fridge and microwave to store and heat up any leftovers. We had a great view of beautiful Cripple Creek and the mountains from our room. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Would recommend to anyone!

Sink was filled with something nasty but a housekeeper cleaned it up for us. The table was wobbly and unusable. The location is out of the way so it is a difficult walk to town but there are free shuttles. Staff are great! View was nice, even numbered rooms have views

I loved the pool at this property . The hotel is on the hill and a little ways from downtown Cripple Creek - inconvenient for a couple of our days there as they had a free shuttle for sat and sun but needed our car for.mon and Tues Dom the gentleman who checked us in was excellent - very accomodating - would recommend check in with Dom anytime ! Super nice guy!

Hotel was great for the price point! Older but kept up with. Galway’s did smell of cooked food, it just made us more hungry than anything. Pool was amazing, only down fall is it’s not really walkable to the main part of town due to being on a steep hill!

I couldn't believe they have no real coffee/coffeepot in the morning. When I asked, they just handed me two instant coffee packs. For a hotel that charges $10 for a resort fee, that's unbelievable.

I did like the quiet because it was away from the other casinos. The pool was awesome but the front desk lied and said that the pool and hot tub were operational and the hot tub was closed. I thought there was a continental breakfast but I was mistaken. We went off property for breakfast.

I'm a truck driver delivering slot machines up there. Was lucky the weather cooperated and wasn't snowing or else it would have been treacherous to get up there. On top of a mountain But comfortable. The only thing that I didn't like was that there was no place to eat, no breakfast, and you had to walk down the mountain to the Golden Nugget sister property to have food at the restaurant which in the winter time, in the cold, wasn't a good option for me. Also the bed was extremely non-supportive. So if you like a very soft bed this place is for you. The staff was nice, kind And they do have a indoor pool that I didn't use but if I would have stayed there longer I would have. The most affordable hotel on the mountain is here so if you have to stay somewhere up there, this is the place.

Upon arrival for check-in two guests were at the front desk requesting help for; key cards that didn’t work, and lack of TV connection. Both concerns were experienced by our family with key cards failing, and no TV reception with 2 children ages 2 & 5 needing their cartoons while Mommy & Daddy celebrated at the nearby casino. In addition, it would appear the hot tub and swimming pool temperatures were mixed up, with a cold hot tub and a very warm swimming pool. Management expressed apologies for everything, although no compensation was offered.

The table between the beds was pulled out from the wall revealing spilled cheerios. The bathtub had a soap scum ring and the hair in the drain was a little gross. It would have been nice to have coffee available in the lobby in the morning. The bed was comfortable though and the view was amazing. I felt it was a bit pricey for the lack of amenities.

Hotel staff were great. Hotel and rooms were clean. Mattresses could definitely do with an upgrade. And what happened to at least having coffee in the lobby. Not everyone wants to make it themselves in their room with bottled water you prbly get charged for.

The hotel is older and hasn't been updated in awhile. Our room was not clean when we checked in. There was food still in the fridge and the floors were dirty and had some sticky spots. We told the front staff and they didn't seem to care and they also didn't send anyone to clean the floors and take the food out of the fridge. The view from the hotel is beautiful and our daughter enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The beds were ok. We wouldn't stay here again. I understand things can happen and get missed when the cleaning staff has several rooms to clean. What is not acceptable to me is when we brought it to the front desks attention nothing was done about it.

The room was fairly nice as long as you know you probably need to plug everything in before use. Room was not ready at check in time and wasn't ready for an additional hour, with the clerk being pretty checked out herself. If you choose to stay here, just don't expect to get checked in on time, or really much at all to be fair. Average at best.

I had a nice, functional stay at Gold King Mountain Inn to save some bucks to attend a convention being held at the more expensive, Chamonix Hotel and Conference Center. My room was well-appointed and clean, bed was comfortable. There are a few minor items such as a funny noise in the HVAC unit, a bit of color at the base of the shower curtain, and no breakfast or coffee offered. I ate at the conference anyway, so it was not a real issue for me. Also, having an internet connection to the television would be a nice, low-cost amenity to add. Firesticks can run as cheap as $9! The cable channels offered were pretty low-resolution. Thanks. I would stay here again.

Pictures on website are deceiving, there's no Casino in house there. Tried numerous times to figure out how to watch the tv. Front desk was no help in fixing it. Rooms are clean. It's a little bit out of town so you must figure a way to get into town if you want to gamble.
