Oxford Inn

A lovely stay was had at Oxford Inn! My friend and I traveled from Chicago to Oxford to see the eclipse. I had originally booked a place outside Cleveland, but we decided to take her dog, so we needed to rebook somewhere pet-friendly. That’s how we ended up in Oxford! The room was nice and bed was comfy and our doggie loved it too. Gina at the front desk was super sweet, and we met some nice neighbors! There’s a lot of lawn space for your dog as well.

Everything in my room was newly renovated. GREAT parking, rare in Oxford & close to Miami U campus. Wonderful owners, micro, coffeemaker, frig, huge TV. COLD A/C, abundant toiletries, HOT water with great water pressure and thick towels. A true find. Book it, you'll be glad you did!

Although the property is older and could use some renovating, it was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. The air conditioning worked great, and the beds & pillows were very comfortable. The front desk staff were friendly, and we were able to park right in front of our room.

No ice machine!! Minimal furnished room.

The Oxford Inn is a total dump. Dirty floors, a bug in the blinds, no hot water to the sink. There was also no electricity to the outlet in the bathroom. I need insulin and they do NOT have an ice machine for us to get ice to keep it cold! The mini fridge was not cold enough of course, The front desk clerk was smug, saying, “We’ve never had an ice machine.” Husband had to drive to a minimart to get ice. We spent $300 for a complete mess of a room. When I asked for a partial refund, the clerk said she could not provide one because I had booked and prepaid with a third party. Do NOT stay here!

Great location if traveling with pets lots of good walking areas.

Owners were wonderful and very attentive. Rooms and linens were clean and like new. Beds were comfortable. No icky carpet to worry about! Only thing missing is an ice machine. And they let me bring my dog.

Location was good & beds were comfortable- room was ok - no closet / iron or ironing board. Sink didn’t drain / no shower pressure or hot water - tv did not work the 1st day.

Room was really cold and the heater was just the window unit so it would warm up and then stop running.... Then it would start to again. It was really loud too so hard to sleep well. Also there were ants in the bathroom that covered my toothbrush in the middle of the night 😩

This motel is as basic as you can get. There was a bed, a dresser, TV, small refrigerator and microwave. No closet or anywhere to hang a coat. There were very few electrical outlets. We had to unplug the microwave to charge our phone. The window had a wood blind that did nothing to shield the very bright light outside. We had to get a blanket from our car to hang in the window so it would get dark enough to sleep at night. The bathroom had a lot of broken tiles that were just repaired with extra grout and caulk. The sink had no space to put your toothbrush or anything else. There was a small shelf that tilted down and anything you put on it would slide off.

The door knob to the bathroom was broken and you could only get out if you turned it one direction,and there was 6 spiders in the bathroom,and we got up the next morning after not being able to sleep at all because the ac was broken and i couldnt hardly breath from being stopped up and sweetie getting ip ready to take a shower to find out that there wasnt any hot water at all.Told the manager about it after i stood in the main office for 10 minutes waiting for someone but i had to bet on the counter cause he was asleep in the next room and i told hi. We didnt have any hot water hopeing to get a little bit of a refund but all i got was im sorry.ill never stay there again!!!

You get what you pay for. Inexpensive but dirty sheets, dirty shower.

Everything was good. We had a pretty bad ant issue in the entire bathroom. Small ants everywhere and lots of them. Loud AC unit.

Generally clean and very convenient. While toilet seat need be fixed and the bathroom can look cleaner.

The room was very clean, nicely painted with a nice bedcover. I could not get hot water in the shower, and since it was winter, I did without a shower. Other than that, the front desk person was very friendly and the surroundings were good.

The “non smoking” room smelled of cigarettes and the floor was filthy. The door did not close fully as there was a big gap at the top corner.

Rooms were a bit dark with the lighting. Otherwise no complaints really.

PROS: 1. The new owner was very kind, welcoming, and accommodating. 2. The bed looked new and was very comfortable; the floors looked new and were very clean; all of the linens/towels were clean. 3. It was very quiet. The only noise I heard during my 4-night stay was the occasional car door closing from other guests parking outside. 4. As a solo female traveler, I liked that the motel was on the outskirts of town with no real pedestrian traffic; I felt safe being alone in the room at night. 5. Shampoo/conditioner, soap, body wash, makeup wipes, hair dryer, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker were all provided in the room; there's also cable TV. 6. Hot water in the shower every day. CONS: 1. It used to be a Budget Inn, and there were several cosmetic signs of wear and tear in the room, BUT new owners have already made some updates and are in the process of renovating. 2. There was no Wi-Fi when I was there, but the owner has been working on getting it up and running; sounds like there's an issue they're waiting on with the service provider. 3. I had to kill a few ants in the bathroom each day; HOWEVER, I think this is a common issue anytime you're staying on a ground floor of a hotel/motel. Bottom line: If you're looking for a no-frills, budget-friendly, comfortable place to rest your head at night, this is a very good option!

This is an old school motel but for just a place to lay your head it’s perfect. Bed’s were comfy and clean with nice new comforters. Shower was hot with good water pressure and room was very clean. Maybe not for everyone as no closet, just a hanger bar, sink is in bedroom but with closed off shower and toilet-like I said old school. Fridge and microwave in room and large TV. 7 min uber to Oxford town or campus. Also an anytime fitness across the street. Staff were lovely.

Other than the pleasant woman who checked me in, the property is terrible. Room had no heat when I arrived. Window unit was air and heat and looked like it was about to rust right off the side of the building. Very low ceilings and lots of chipping paint. Blinds were broken so anyone could peer in the window. As a woman traveling alone, I was uncomfortable with the men lingering outside their rooms smoking and watching people come and go. I opted to leave and find a hotel 30 minutes away

Property and room were clean. Would have liked a separate shampoo and conditioner, needs a peephole on the door, need curtains as theirs a light outside the window so it was quite bright at night in room 22.

Room was much larger than expected. It was cold and took a while for the window unit to heat up the room, and was loud, but eventually the room was comfortable. The bathroom was still a bit cool, but ok. Only issue was that the sink water was cold. Ran it for a while expecting it to warm up, but it did not. Skipped a shower, didn’t need to freeze.

Parents weekend . 300 a night . AC , very noisy. Turns on turns off every 10 minutes. Cars go by all night . Stay away

I’d love to give a better review as the new owners are very nice and trying their best, but the shower in our room was not functional. Water came out like pins and needles that it actually hurt. I turned it off in less than a minute. The air conditioner was so loud it woke me up all night as soon as it turned on (auto cycle) and it could not be adjusted. The room was very dark but they installed the brightest light above the bed- it could land a plane from outer space! You get what you pay for but I will not be back.

The owners were very friendly and nice. The price for the room was very affordable. The room was clean and tidy.

The new owners are so kind and helpful. They thanked us for staying there, and made sure we had everything we needed. They even offered us a ride to town and back if we needed it.

Stayed here before attending Make it Miami. We got in late. Very impressed with how quick check in was. Appreciated we could just leave keys in room rather than checking out next morning since we needed to leave early. Room was large, clean, and nicely decorated. I was pleasantly surprised with large selection of toiletries. Would definitely return.

The front desk was very responsive to my questions prior to check in. Early check in request was accomodated. The check-innprocess as quick and easy. The room was a nice size. The televion is a little small. And the bathroom is also small. It was an over priced decent motel.

there are new owners to the place, and they are absolutely wonderful, friendly, and very attentive! I have no complaints, it was clean ,check in check out efficient, Wi-Fi was excellent, towels and linen were fresh smelling. I will stay there in the future without hesitation.

Good location near Miami University. Clean and nice accommodations for a quick visit for my son’s orientation at Miami. Would stay again.

I normally avoid the motel type properties but ended up staying at Oxford Inn as it was the only availability for the weekend. However, it was fantastic. Just what I needed- clean, comfortable and just a short drive to campus. I felt safe even with the exterior door. It will be my first choice next time!

This is an older hotel that has been upgraded and modernized. The owners are very friendly and helpful. This is a great choice if you are visiting the area and is very close to the Miami University campus

We had an overall good time at the Oxford Inn. This is an older motel with updated rooms. It was a quiet place to rest and sleep while visiting Miami University. There are no frills here, only what you need. For the price it is an A

This is not a fancy hotel. It is an old motel, nicely renovated, family owned and operated. It is clean, quiet, and comfortable. They don't have supply breakfast, but they are about 1.5 miles from a McDonalds and a Kroger store.

Very basic motel. But redone, clean and sufficient. Similar to a Motel 6. They’ve upgraded the flooring and bathrooms. Still simple - but sufficient. Had a desk, fridge, microwave and fresh linens and towels. Good water pressure in the shower. It’s under new management and I suspect it’ll just get a little nicer as things progress for them - very attentive and responsive management. (No frills - but plenty of food nearby. Decent cheap alternative for a quick visit with our son. )
