Milton Park really needs a refresh - the furniture and carpets are quite tatty. The spa facilities were closed. The air conditioning wasn’t working in either of our rooms. The grounds are beautiful and is someone invests in the property it can return to its former status.

The Manager, Brendan went to every length to ensure a brilliant and enjoyable stay. The facilities ie indoor hot pool, indoor pool, sauna, steam room so relaxing. The grounds are beautiful and stunning.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The gardens surrounding the property are marvellous. We also enjoyed the amazing spa and wellness centre. It was a wedding anniversary to remember.

Bit of a surprise really, old school historic buildings , some now being renovated. Fantastic heated pool house ,simple amazing historic structures. The grounds were immaculate with massive trees from all over the world with vines and beautiful flowers and blooms .A fantastic array of birdlife all throughout the property, all coming in for the breakfast each morning. Breakfast was easy and very tasty, presented by very thoughtful staff. It took a while to understand the history and age of the place, but there was nothing that could stop you admiring the facilities. Sure there was a bit of paint missing here and there while the new owners do there updates but you could not possibly dislike this grand display of times gone past. fantastic, we loved it.

We left after one night of a two night stay because my wife needed medical attention. The hotel made no attempt to enquire about her illness nor made any effort to make some kind of redress or compensation. Parking was almost impossibly and roads around the hotel muddy. Overall an experience not to be repeated!!

Seriously run down property with worn furniture both in rooms and restaurant and bar area. A major renovation is apparently scheduled and is well overdue. Until then the 5-star rating is fanciful. Spa facilities are closed until further notice which was not clear at the time of booking or communicated since.

This property was very quiet but a bit out of town to Bowral. The interior is very tired and needs a full refurbishment. Although our room was spacious with a beautiful outlook the lounge chairs were very flat and uncomfortable and on one arm the fabric was torn. The bed and pillows were not comfortable. The exterior and the gardens were stunning and the breakfast was very nice and plenty to choose from. The signage also needs to be improved on Horderns Road turn off as there are no signs and none to the hotel until you go around the corner at the end of the street. Very confusing for someone who has not been there before. The staff are very helpful and friendly.

This is our 3rd time staying at Milton Park & the restaurant NEVER disappoints. Hats off to the Chef & staff, sublime food. We also loved the bar, ambience & service excellent. The rooms need updating & we were pleased to hear that refurbishment is commencing shortly, much needed. Our check in experience was easy, staff friendly but disappointed that our toilet wasn’t cleaned & we were lacking toilet paper in our room. Rooms are air conditioned but controlled by hotel. Gas wall heater knob crumbled in my hand & leaked. Asked for a bulb to be replaced in bathroom, guy came but then forgot to do it as was also trying to fix faulty TV… Housekeeper fixed TV. Despite all this, we genuinely loved our stay. Horderns Restaurant is 1st class! The grounds of the property are stunning. Looking forward to a return stay, but only when this old beauty is at her best.

The parking area is not quite good specially when its raining. Bathroom tiles a bit old looks like theres a mold on it. Over all we had a good stay in the hotel.

This is a grand old property with so much more potential. The rooms are large and comfortable, however they do not have air conditioning or climate control, nor exhaust fans in the bathroom. There is a dusty smell throughout, and staff seemed to be absent everywhere except reception. We received a number of complimentary things as the service was poor...whilst this was appreciated, we would have preferred better service. Staff are lovely, there is just not enough of them. The spa area is amazing, and to have these included is a big bonus. Food was incredible, including the beautiful breakfast. The restaurant provided great quality food, but it would have been nice to have options other than degustation menus. Overall we had a very relaxing stay, and would recommend this place.

Tired property, hot rooms even with windows open. Upholstery on furniture is filthy. Some staff are rude. They charged my card for accommodation even though I had paid in full on wotif. Everything is run down and not being cared for or looked after. Breakfast was tasty. Totally disappointed with our stay. Not what this property used to be like at all. Rooms werent serviced till after 4:30pm.

great 100 year old mansion in fantastic location - top of a misty hill with manicured English gardens plenty of facilities. But a bit run down. 1980s renovation in real need of an update - peeling wallpaper, baths need re-surfacing, chairs very saggy and stained. Staff were good but to few staff. 4- star, not 5-star. Good for a 1 night stay but will not return.

We stayed here several years ago and noticed the terrible decline in the property. It definitely is NOT a 5 star anymore. We were served powdered orange juice at breakfast! Room we had definitely needed some tlc. Cupboard draws broken, bathroom very dated, chair had huge stain on seat like someone had urinated on it. Overall a disaster.

All the staff were incredibly friendly, attentive and went out of their way to help. It made our two night stay very special. The room was spotless and the grounds are truly glorious. A brief encounter with another world.

Beautiful gardens worth a stroll around. Some grandish rooms, and hopefully the new owners succeed in refreshing the facilities and decor. Fold out bed for our 3rd person was disappointing, and not comfortable.

This property was beautiful. The only thing was a horrible mattress. We had 2 lumpy warped & hard single mattresses pushed together which was horrible to sleep on. So thats the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

We returned to Milton Park after over 30 years for an expected 3 nights accommodation. The first night and succeeding day was very enjoyable and the front line staff were lovely. However, the difference between the honeymoon 30 odd years prior was the conference centre. Consequently the second night we were kept up between 11:30PM and 4AM with fighting screaming , swearing ,singing ,upturning of outdoor furniture and slamming of doors by drunken conference attendees. After 3 hours sleep we had breakfast and left rather than risk a repeat performance for the third night. The carry on by these male and female idiots certainly ruined our memories of Milton Park. Overall Milton Park was good but contrasting the previous birthday weekend at the Hydro Majestic the latter just wins out in food, wine and management service. Also a lot quieter!

Consequently the second night we were kept up between 11:30PM and 4AM with fighting screaming , swearing ,singing ,upturning of outdoor furniture and slamming of doors by drunken conference attendees. After 3 hours sleep we had breakfast and left rather than risk a repeat performance for the third night. The carry on by these male and female idiots certainly ruined our memories of Milton Park. Overall Milton Park was good but contrasting the previous birthday weekend at the Hydro Majestic the latter just wins out in food, wine and management service. Also a lot quieter!

This was our second stay at Milton Park - it is just beautiful. If I had to make a criticism, the lounge in our suite could have been re-stuffed. The place IS a bit tired, but is about to be re-furbished. The staff were lovely, and the meal at Hordern's was absolutely wonderful. A terrific stay, thank you!

This is a grand old property with so much more potential. The rooms are large and comfortable, however they do not have air conditioning or climate control, nor exhaust fans in the bathroom. There is a dusty smell throughout, and staff seemed to be absent everywhere except reception. We received a number of complimentary things as the service was poor...whilst this was appreciated, we would have preferred better service. Staff are lovely, there is just not enough of them. The spa area is amazing, and to have these included is a big bonus. Food was incredible, including the beautiful breakfast. The restaurant provided great quality food, but it would have been nice to have options other than degustation menus. Overall we had a very relaxing stay, and would recommend this place.

Old and needs repairs, staff unhelpful, surrounding gardens were nice, road infrastructure very poor. Food and beverage were expensive and over priced. I would not recommend this accommodations.

It's our second stay in six months giving a hint that in our books Milton Park is thoughly splendid.Summer & now Autumn, Im hoping to enjoy all four seasons by walking through this historic garden and staying in Anthony Hordens old East Bowral mansion in a Spring & Winter. The visit this time was a formal dinner & dance soiree in the ballroom located at the bottom of the estate being held on the Friday night of a major wet weather event. The skies cleared but the garden path from the hotel to the function centre was a muddy track more suitable for gumboots & anoraks than evening shoes & faux furs. Crisis averted, General Manager David offered us a lift saving us a bedraggled Ball entry. So thank you David & Milton Park staff, we promise next time to bring our wellies.Catered food was delicious, our room was comfortable and warm, the garden in Autumn is gently impressive and the staff hospitable. Loved the 'Old girl'.

This is our 3rd time staying at Milton Park & the restaurant NEVER disappoints. Hats off to the Chef & staff, sublime food. We also loved the bar, ambience & service excellent. The rooms need updating & we were pleased to hear that refurbishment is commencing shortly, much needed. Our check in experience was easy, staff friendly but disappointed that our toilet wasn’t cleaned & we were lacking toilet paper in our room. Rooms are air conditioned but controlled by hotel. Gas wall heater knob crumbled in my hand & leaked. Asked for a bulb to be replaced in bathroom, guy came but then forgot to do it as was also trying to fix faulty TV… Housekeeper fixed TV. Despite all this, we genuinely loved our stay. Horderns Restaurant is 1st class! The grounds of the property are stunning. Looking forward to a return stay, but only when this old beauty is at her best.

The Manager, Brendan went to every length to ensure a brilliant and enjoyable stay. The facilities ie indoor hot pool, indoor pool, sauna, steam room so relaxing. The grounds are beautiful and stunning.

Tired property, hot rooms even with windows open. Upholstery on furniture is filthy. Some staff are rude. They charged my card for accommodation even though I had paid in full on wotif. great 100 year old mansion in fantastic location - top of a misty hill with manicured English gardens plenty of facilities. But a bit run down. 1980s renovation in real need of an update - peeling wallpaper, baths need re-surfacing, chairs very saggy and stained. Staff were good but to few staff. 4- star, not 5-star. Good for a 1 night stay but will not return.

This property was very quiet but a bit out of town to Bowral. The interior is very tired and needs a full refurbishment. Although our room was spacious with a beautiful outlook the lounge chairs were very flat and uncomfortable and on one arm the fabric was torn. The bed and pillows were not comfortable. The exterior and the gardens were stunning and the breakfast was very nice and plenty to choose from. The signage also needs to be improved on Horderns Road turn off as there are no signs and none to the hotel until you go around the corner at the end of the street. Very confusing for someone who has not been there before. The staff are very helpful and friendly.

Very grand, historic home that takes you back in time, surrounded by beautiful lush gardens and warm open fireplaces. A little bit of maintenance needed, but overall a quiet place for a romantic getaway. Your own car is a must.

The atmosphere of Milton Park permeates peace and tranquility. Everywhere. The over century old gardens reflect beauty into the hotel making it so relaxing. Food offerings were great and reasonably priced for the quality you got. Breakfast absolutely superb. Staff relaxed, friendly and attentive.Can only say when I travel into the Highlands I will definitely stay here. Love the gardens, atmosphere, tranquility and historical heritage of the buildings.

The hotel is in need of refurbishment. It is tired. Our room however was spacious but needed upgrading to bring it back to its former glory. The spa was closed. Why not find someone to manage it? The hot breakfast was served in Bain Marie’s - not the most inviting food. The hotel has great potential and I would return if it is renovated. It was not good value for money given its condition. In fact we left without even having breakfast on the second day. Couldn’t stomach it.

The rooms were a bit tired, we were upset not to be able to dine anywhere on site (I know we whould've booked) But the room service menu was awful, limited and impossible to order. Not everyone likes raw food, my wife is allergic to seafood amd that left nothing for us. Whats wrong with a nice (well cooked) burger for instance? Especially as we'd left home not having eaten as we thought we'd at least get a seat somewhere or get room service. Instead we had a pkt of chips and some snakes!

We stayed here several years ago and noticed the terrible decline in the property. It definitely is NOT a 5 star anymore. We were served powdered orange juice at breakfast! Room we had definitely needed some tlc. Cupboard draws broken, bathroom very dated, chair had huge stain on seat like someone had urinated on it. Overall a disaster.

We left after one night of a two night stay because my wife needed medical attention. The hotel made no attempt to enquire about her illness nor made any effort to make some kind of redress or compensation. Parking was almost impossibly and roads around the hotel muddy. Overall an experience not to be repeated!!
