Chequers Inn

Delicious food and lovely staff. Comfortable, good outdoor seating area with views. just needs new ,or cleaner, stair carpet. But coming out of covid understandable , glad they still have their business.

Good inn with rooms, food is good, staff friendly and welcoming, Good value for money, Only downside is that wi fi in the bedrooms is consistently poor

Lovely tranquil setting, great beer garden and really good food.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Luke. The room was really cosy and a good size with lovely decor and lots of drawer space. It was well stocked with tea and coffee items, even biscuits. A very nice touch was that there was a fan which was extremely welcome as it was quite hot. Sadly, it was not as clean as I would have liked with smears on the shower cubicle but I was told the cleaner was on holliday so maybe not the norm. The other problem was that the room I was in did not have good internet but it seems the rest of the hotel was ok and downstairs there was no problem. I understand that the reception is not very good in the village. There was a nice atmosphere in the dinning room and bar but I did not have any meals as I ate with friends. I would use this hotel again if I am in the area.

The Chequers Inn has charm and character in abundance. The staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. The building is a mixture, part ancient with wooden beams forming the original structure, a Victorian addiition, and later ad-ons. The bar has a good selection of beverages with chatty bar staff. The restaurant menu is varied with plenty of choice and good service. Special requirements can be accommodated. The Chequers is situated in Fladbury, a typical English country village not far from the River Avon and far enough off the A44 to be quiet.

Very basic room, poor WiFi. I travel a lot in the area but won't be returning unfortunately

The Chequers is a friendly pub. Good beer and typical pub type food, with a nice eating area. The village is very pretty and has great walks around the area. The rooms and amenities are straightforward and adequate for a short stop over type stay

The pub is set in a quiet road of a delightful village. The restaurant and bar area are extremely clean and inviting. I was welcomed by a very friendly member of staff who showed me to my room. When going through to the accommodation area the carpet gives an unfortunately poor first impression. It is light grey and quite plush and not at all hard wearing. It has got very stained and is poorly fitted, especially on the stairs which is hardly surprising seeing that it is an old and unique building. The same carpet was used in the bedrooms and was much cleaner and nice and soft for bare feet. A darker more hard wearing carpet might give a much better first impression. I had an amazing evening meal constant of a locally made lamb & mint pie and chips with fresh veg, followed by a chocolate caramel fondant. Fantastic quality food with friendly and attentive service. I enjoyed a pint of quality beee in the bar later in the evening and again the staff weee very friendly. When I enquired about the breakfast awevibgvtines, I realised that I would need to leave before the breakfast was served. Without requesting it, I was immediately offered a refund for the cost of breakfast. I was more disappointed that my early start made me miss what promises to be a delicious breakfast. I would definitely stay at The Chequers Inn again and while-heartedly recommend it. The rooms are fairly basic but that is reflected by the very fair pricing.

We had a lovely large warm comfortable room. The bed was also massive and comfortable. All was very clean. We had a nice meal in the evening. My wife loved her meal. I was not so happy with mine but I put that more down to my poor choice. There had been some happening with the staff the day before. Either all sacked or off with Covid so there was a lady from Swindon covering on her own causing service to suffer a bit with a very limited menu. The pub was also empty. No locals at all? Don't know if it was all linked but there were only 6 of us there causing a complete lack of any atmosphere so we retired to our room. But the next moring they had roped in an old chef who was brilliant. We had one of the biggest and best breakfasts we've had in a while finishing out stay off in a high.

Room had no heating tv not working evening meal was not up to standard the room was very tied and dirty

The property was very clean but the bathrooms need updating. Nowhere to put your towels or clothes. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast service was excellent. Too much for 1 person doing waiting and cooking. Only little thing we booked a family room for 3 adults. Had to ask for everything for the 3rd adult, towels water glass etc. would definitely stay again

We stayed for 3 nights,When we arrived we did not get a good impression the carpet from the front door and upstairs was very dirty ,the carpet on the stairs was not secure.The first night we had no sleep because there outside light was on all night coming in through window ,the curtains did not have enough clips on them so was hanging of rail.There was cobwebs all over the room ,they had a wardobe in the room but it was very dirty inside so we could not unpack.The bath had a shower mat but it was so dirty we removed it the toilet would not plush properly the ceiling fan was covered in dirt.When we was leaving i decided to check the mattress to my horror it had matress toppers on it and it was covered in what looked like urine stains all over it,i pulled them off to find a large urine stain on the mattress, I called the person in charge and showed him i asked him would you have slept on that and he said no.I was told a girl had a accident on it and they had it cleaned up but stain would not come out.My wife was absolutely distraught as this was our Wedding Anniversary. This is just a few examples among many.I did get a refund of half my money but it did not make up for what we t through.In future i will always check the mattress before we stay anywhere.

Always enjoy my stay at the Chequers in, stay around 6 or 7 nights a year. Food is good, breakfast made to order and fresh. beer. Rooms are functional but always spotless. Service is friendly. Grand little place, bar / kitchen with accomadation. Sure to be staying again.

The welcome was excellent. The room was damp and there was mould around the shower. The room didn’t have a bath. The shower was cold/warm- I tried turning the flow down and the temperature up and down but it didn’t get warmer. The tv in the room was tiny. But the breakfast was very good and the staff were very good. I was tired after a long day and wanted a soak in a bath and to watch tv to relax.

It was just an overnight stay. It was ok, basic tv, plenty of hot water which was a bonus and beds were comfortable but the entrance and up the stairs to room the carpet was grim, the room was tired, definitely needs attention. But i guess at just over £60 this is the standard that you get. I am behind the times!!!!!

If you like spiders, cobwebs, cracked walls, mouldy bathrooms, sleeping on a slant you will be fine. On the plus side the bedding and towels were good quality and very clean, otherwise we wouldn’t have stayed. We like to support local businesses but places like this let us down, it wasn’t even cheap!

We stayed for one night after a function in Evesham. The room was comfortable although rather dated. The breakfast was ok. The location was quiet.

We stayed in room six and to be fair the room reminded me of the crooked house. One side of the room was at least a foot higher then the other side, because of this all the furniture including the bed was on a slant. Breakfast was brilliant and the service was first class, thank you Scott

Spacious room with balcony very nice on warm evening. Breakfast disappointing. Lumpy porridge, only 1 cup of Luke warm instant coffee offered, but others having a full English breakfast seemed happy. Dinner hit and miss. 1 ok, 1 not good, overcooked pie, dry mashed potato. Bathroom tired and in need of improvement but probably ok for the price paid.

Location is great-Fladbury is a lovely little village. The Chequers is an old old building, with it quirks (uneven floors, beams etc). The rooms are somewhat basic and in need of a refresh. The TV is the smallest I’ve seen! Beds are super comfy tho. The double rooms vary in size considerably-but are all charged the same-which seems rather disingenuous. The stairs and corridor leading to the rooms is filthy-pale blue/grey not the idea choice for a high footfall area-not very welcoming to see this. Perhaps replace with darker carpet or something that can be more easily cleaned. I felt sorry for the chef on breakfast duty-obviously on his own and was run ragged as most peeps (at the weekend) leave it until later to eat and turn up together. Having said that-breakfast was fab. No earl grey tea-bags but I had brought my own!

Door catch and lock broken so had to put a chair against the door to stop it opening during the night. Curtains hanging off rail. Outside are extraction and air conditioning units so sleepless night. Very disappointing all in all and no working lock or door catch is totally unacceptable. I reported it to the staff before going out for the evening but I suspect they already knew and hadn’t bothered to fix it. Having a room above extraction and air conditioning units is absurd and unacceptable and the view of broken furniture outside was more Banksy than Constable. The room also featured the smallest TV I have ever seen across the other side of the room and the bathroom had a damaged sink. Was probably a lovely room once but not anymore.

Staying at an Inn is Worcestershire can be a rewarding and personal experience. Certainly that is so at the Chequers Inn where the staff make the visitor warmly welcome in a friendly and welcoming manner..

Whole property is scruffy and neglected. There was a skip full of rubbish in the car park and my bedroom window overlooked an area filled with old tables and other junk. My bathroom door would not shut which is probably just as well - there was no handle on the inside so I would not have been able to get out! The TV was just about the tiniest one I've ever seen. The shower cubicle was so small I could hardly get in there (and I am not a big lad). The kitchen doesn't operate on Sunday evening, so couldn't get anything to eat. Breakfast is supposed to be served from 08:00 - 10:00 but on Monday morning, the dining area was deserted until somebody turned up at 08:20 to take my order. The breakfast, when it arrived, was very poor and the toast was burnt and served without any butter, which I had to ask for (twice) and there were no baked beans, which the chef said I hadn't asked for. Note to chef: you do NOT contradict or argue with paying guests. Breakfast on the second morning was much better. Dinner on Monday evening was best described as average - I had a burger, which was OK but the ingredients were not of the best quality. Next time I need to visit Evesham, I shall be staying somewhere else.

Always enjoy my stay here, no fuss homely comfort. With good food and a great breakfast. The beers good as well.
