Looks like exterior renovations were finishing up giving the outside a slight messy look, but the room was modern, big and clean. A great location in Bruce Mines as well. Was able to connect to Wi-Fi with no issues, but transfer rate was quite slow, but was good for emails and general web browsing. Don't expect to stream. Received decent cell service and data at this location however. Finally although not a problem for us if you would like the second level there is a large staircase to ascend. Someone with mobility issues would want to request the lower level. Over all our stay was pleasant and the room was great. Friendly staff and the restaurant had great burgers!

Hard to find parking as there were several transports taking up most of the parking spaces. The drivers were congregated just below our room and were boisterous and noisy. Some of the trucks were left running and also very noisy. It was supposed to be an updated suite, but with the exception of a very small area of newly tiled floor in the bathroom area there were no other updates. Did not feel safe here and barricaded the door! Not recommended!

The outside siding is being updated, the car park area is okay. The marina is behind the motel and offers a nice walk about. The rooms have been upgraded and are quite good, the king bed was comfortable, the flooring very nice. The shower curtain was mouldy at the bottom and needs replacing with a detachable bottom as in other hotels, also a curved shower rod would be a good idea. The tub/shower had a mat for safety, just be careful since the floor tiles are high gloss. I was expecting something more for the price, but as with everything since Covid, the prices aren’t coming down. The owner was okay but could maybe be a little more engaging, if I ran a small service business, I would be super friendly to encourage more business. There is a restaurant but we decided to share the business with another local business. The WiFi was touch and go but we managed.

The manager was very nice, they accommodated our dog. The room itself was also very nice and they are working on the exterior of the building, which definitely needs some attention. I did not care for the stairs, or that there was only one set to go up and down in the weather. We were also given a room with an adjoining suite that was locked. We could hear a lot of noise through that door from the other guests, noises that our kids definitely did not need to hear. Make sure you don’t have an attached suite to your room, unless you have a large party and rent the other room. The area is safe and close to a coffee shop, park and restaurants, so that was good. Overall, except for the other guests and thin walls, our stay was fine for a night on our way to our destination.

At the time we stayed they were undergoing renovations which was not clear when we booked. Our room was updated but very dusty that seemed like post-reno dust. Overall I think it will be a great place if all rooms are being renovated similarly.

When we checked in, we asked to pay cash. We were told that they don't accept cash at the hotel. So were forced to put it on credit card. When we got to the room, it was covered in dust and the room was full of flies. We spent much of our night trying to kill all of the flies. The bathroom looked newly renovated, which was nice, except the bathtub which was a jetted tub. It had mould and mildew all around the jets and the drain and one of the jets was completely missing. There was someone else's hair in the bathtub, and all over the bathroom floor. The fan in the bathroom was also incredibly loud. When I pulled back the sheets on my bed to get ready for bed, there was someone else's hair between the sheets. There was no dead bolt or chain lock on the door, we just had to trust that the door knob lock was enough to keep people out. But when checking out you're told to leave the keys in the room, so you know there are other keys out there which doesn't make you feel very safe. But maybe the worst part was that the restaurant attached to the hotel did karaoke night and was so loud it sounded like it was in our room. It didn't finish until after midnight, so getting my three year old to sleep wasn't a thing. All in all this hotel as a disaster and I would not recommend staying there to anyone!

This is an older motel with refurbished suites. Spotlessly clean with gorgeous new bathrooms. If you are looking for hotel-like service like room service, this is not for you. The restaurant has great food, awesome staff. I found the room quite quiet even though the motel was full. It is centrally located with lots of home style food nearby. We went to the Bruce Mines Fall Fair and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a great trip overall.

Walls were scuffed and dirty. There was a used facial tissue and some plastic packaging discarded under one of the beds. The curtains were worn and ripped, one of the lamps was falling apart potentially exposing bare wires and there was no security chain on the door. The photos on the website look nice but the room we were in was awful.

My room was was very modern, clean and spacious. Excellent condition. Better than I've had at many chain hotels. The property doesn't look as impressive from the outside but the room was excellent. I faced the lake and didn't hear any of the highway traffic. The air conditioning worked well. There are chairs outside each room to enjoy the balcony. I didn't eat at the restaurant but enjoyed a drink on the patio with friendly and attentive service. Prices more than reasonable. Would definitely stay again.

Not a great place. Curtains were literally moth eaten. Bathtub faucet was falling off. Bug droppings all around the windows. Renovations are clearly DIY with terrible fit and finish. Location is good and bed was very comfortable. Great pizza at the restaurant.

More fancy than expected from a motel. The area is great as it's right on the marina, amazing place to watch the sunset and sunrise. The room seemed to be recently renovated since it looked a lot different than the decor the last time we stayed there a year ago. Definitely a better place to stay than Sault ste Marie when traveling across the country.

Although room was generally clean there were places where the cleaning had been missed and dust existed such as on the lower shelves of both nightstands. The flooring had small gaps here and there in floor boards. No ceiling light and the light provided by the 2 bedside lamps was barely adequate at best. The bathroom sink was very, very slow to drain. The bathtub and showerhead were in desperate need of replacement as they had permanent discolouring and rust spots. Internet was generally on the slow side. This was supposed to be a deluxe room, although decent, it really didn't live up to that billing.

The room I was staying in had been recently renovated as they are renovating the building. I was in one of the deluxe King suites second floor facing towards the marina. Highly recommend. Room was large comfortable maybe could have used a larger television haha. Check in with smooth and easy. The attached restaurant has great food friendly staff. Small town local pub kind of feel. Very friendly place from the owners to the staff to the clientele in the restaurant.

Although the room was newlybrenovatedcand clean the customer service was poor. There was no top sheet on our bed and when I asked they simply handed me one rather than making the bed. We stayed 3 nights and no one empty our garbage or replenished coffee, shower needs or linens.

I was travelling by boat and arrived at the nearby City Marina. I arrived around lunch time and check-in wasn't until 4 pm. Max, the manager, moved my room ahead on the cleaning schedule while I went to the excellent restaurant next door for lunch. The clean room itself was great for me travelling by myself. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. It was a cool night so I only used the heat. There was a microwave and small fridge. What I really liked is that I scheduled another stay here after completing my boat trip around the North Channel. I came into the marina again around noon. I went to the Inn just to let them know I was there, planning to go get lunch and do some work on the boat. Max told me my room was ready! He remembered my name and intentionally kept that room clean and vacant the night before anticipating that I would arrive early again. And Max gave me a small discount for returning so soon.

We did not end up staying here as the room was awful, pillows were yellow. Staff was not helpful either. Was not even offered a different room. Would not recommend this accommodation.

Staff was very friendly, check in was easy and room was very clean. Only issue we had was getting the tv to work. Turns out both the batteries for the remote and the remote itself were faulty; however the staff were very helpful and rectified the problem.

The owners are very kind and courteous. On checking in we were advised to request room cleans if needed as we were staying a few days. It is not done daily which is totally understandable as most guests are overnites. The room was very clean, fresh linens, quite comfortable. It is conveniently located right in Bruce Mines in front of marina. Close to all ammenities etc. The owners are constantly updating the motel and are doing a really great job at the renovations. The rates are very reasonable. This is now our second stay and will definitely return when necessary. Good job Bavarian Inn.....keep up the great work.

Diesel trucks engines or truck refrigeration unit noise in the parking lot all night. No answer at front desk, no washcloths in room. Poor check in service. Otherwise room was clean & staff ok. Would not recommend.

We were a late check in 10 pm. Called at 7pm to let them know and no issue. There is a buzzer for to call them when closed. The owner was right down and got me checked in under 5 minutes. This is an old hotel, but they have but time and care into fixing up the rooms. Really good attention from the owner. Pleasant surprise.

Looks like exterior renovations were finishing up giving the outside a slight messy look, but the room was modern, big and clean. A great location in Bruce Mines as well. Was able to connect to Wi-Fi with no issues, but transfer rate was quite slow, but was good for emails and general web browsing. Don't expect to stream. Received decent cell service and data at this location however. Finally although not a problem for us if you would like the second level there is a large staircase to ascend. Someone with mobility issues would want to request the lower level. Over all our stay was pleasant and the room was great. Friendly staff and the restaurant had great burgers!

The outside siding is being updated, the car park area is okay. The marina is behind the motel and offers a nice walk about. The rooms have been upgraded and are quite good, the king bed was comfortable, the flooring very nice. The shower curtain was mouldy at the bottom and needs replacing with a detachable bottom as in other hotels, also a curved shower rod would be a good idea. The tub/shower had a mat for safety, just be careful since the floor tiles are high gloss. I was expecting something more for the price, but as with everything since Covid, the prices aren’t coming down. The owner was okay but could maybe be a little more engaging, if I ran a small service business, I would be super friendly to encourage more business. There is a restaurant but we decided to share the business with another local business. The WiFi was touch and go but we managed.

It was a pleasant surprise to find that our room had been completely renovated since I can remember them as a child growing up in Bruce Mines. The room has been finished with all modern amenities and the view of the bay was a very nice addition to enjoy. The staff was also very nice and accommodating. Overall very pleasant stay.

More fancy than expected from a motel. The area is great as it's right on the marina, amazing place to watch the sunset and sunrise. The room seemed to be recently renovated since it looked a lot different than the decor the last time we stayed there a year ago. Definitely a better place to stay than Sault ste Marie when traveling across the country.

In the middle of being updated. Our suite was brand new and very nice. Comfortable beds. Great service. Good price. Also, rave to the Cosmos Pizza restaurant on site. Loved it and super convenient.

Convenient location, room had been updated but visible dust on the furniture. Restaurant wait staff were good but food was very poor. Eat elsewhere! No elevator, stairs and exterior of building need work. Would not recommend.

This is an older motel that is undergoing updating/remodeling. I stayed in a newly remodeled room which was very nice and very clean. The bathroom, in particular, is first class. The property is conveniently adjacent to the highway, and noise was not an issue. The staff was friendly and helpful. The on-premise restaurant is not open, but there are plans to reopen in the future. This will be a welcome development, as dining options in the town are limited.

Stayed in room 30. Lovely views. Comfortable bed. Clean room. Nice short walk to the lake. Kosmos Pizza is not only a handy option but also a great pizza. Recommend a stay here.

The room itself was renovated to a very high standard. Spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds. Outside is waiting to be renovated and is a bit of a mess. Dining is not owned by the hotel and you cannot get breakfast before 1100h (lack of staff I think). What really upset me was I asked the receptionist if there was anywhere else to get breakfast and he said no. This was an outright lie. There is a small restaurant across the street that serves from 0700h with a special at $8 !!!

I understand that outside will be renovated, but it has a run down appearance. One thing that is unforgiveable is the dining (apparently not part of the hotel). We asked about breakfast. `Not until after 1100h !! I asked about getting it anywhere else and the man told me that `everywhere is like that' That is a bald faced lie. There is a restaurant across the street that starts at 0700. We got our breakfast for $8.

Imagine my surprise when I left this morning, that the room next to me better reflected the photos online......Looked luxurious compared to the room I was assigned, with no offer to move/change, and no contact with the manager/owner. Nothing positive to say about this stay.

Clean room, comfy beds. Good amount of space. Only downfall was the coffee machine was tiny and the pot handle wasn’t situated on the pot properly. There were no facecloths in the bathroom and the shower refused to give hot water, despite leaving it running for over 5 minutes!

There is no staff at the reception, but a phone number to call. The room was very well cleaned, but don’t look under the bed. All in all everything is appropriate for the rate charged.
