This hotel has a great vibe. They had complimentary water and sodas and fresh baked treats at night. The location was excellent. It is right by La Jolla Cove so we could walk and stroll the ocean boulevard anytime we wanted. I’d stay here again and have tried to but it was sold out. The moral of the story is book early. Don’t sleep on this place and miss your chance.

Had a great stay here. Room was amazing. Had a huge living area with a kitchenette. Amazing views of the ocean from there and the balcony. Water, soda and cookies were provided as well as a very nice breakfast in the morning. Can't say enough about how impressed we were. The only thing I'd mention is that it did not say there was a $25.00 per night parking fee on the website, but we were ok with it knowing the area.

From the booking over the phone to the great staff who attended me during my stay I enjoyed my get away. Breakfast that was served was great and the bar was a good time and the outside area with the heaters and fire pit was dope. I will definitely book another stay.... the rooms are well kept and the balcony showing the beautiful beach was the cherry on top

Everything was perfect except the parking. It was extremely hard to get in and out of a place. It was very tight and I was afraid of fitting and scratching my car. Other than that, no complaints.

Fantastic location! Right along the coast, walking path all along the ocean, Children's Pool and other great locales right there - easy to see the seals and sea lions, palm trees galore, and easy to walk into town (within minutes). Eric greeted us when we arrived and was super welcoming, gave us the choice of two rooms. Ours was large, bedroom with incredibly comfy king bed and a door, kitchenette, full living room area, balcony to the ocean. Breakfast was included and had good options (eggs, fruit, bagels, yogurt, coffee, and more), nice fire pit, easy on site parking. I would say the living room area furniture could use an update, none of the furniture is luxurious (other than that bed!!), but comfy. And the location is incredible. Very welcoming staff.

Nice little spot, pretty delish continental breakfast and less than 5 minute walk to the beach. I thought it was a bit silly to need to pay $25 a day for a parking pass (since we’re already paying to stay there.) Love how everything was within walking distance so you didn’t have to deal with nightmarish parking around La Jolla. Don’t waste your money for ‘The cave’ $9 a person to walk down a flight of steps to look at the ocean splash around a cave. You’ll be within arms reach with the sea lion & sea otters. Overall, great stay. My kids loved it and we plan to stay again next summer.

Gorgeous grounds!!! Highly recommend Pantai Inn La Jolla, absolutely stunning views from our deluxe 2 bedroom suite 1st story and the Roof Top are was amazing especially with our Cocktails from Baca at the bar. We will definitely be back Pantai Inn 🌴

Stayed in the oceanfront 2 bedroom unit which was great. Beautiful views, very large unit with kitchen, dining room, living room, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. Only downside: Bathroom was a little small for the size of the unit with very limited counter space. Shower was in one corner of the bathroom. Although there was a shower curtain, it did not reach the floor and water got everywhere. After each shower, we had to use 2 to 3 towels to clean up all the standing water. Staff was wonderful. Outdoor space for lounging, with tables to eat breakfast at large and umbrellas for shade. Nice large gas fire pit. Overall highly recommend the hotel and plan on staying there again next year when we are in town.

We stayed for 7 days at oceanfront room. Bedroom carpet is not clean. Bathroom is very small and faucet is calcified. Balcony is shared with neighboring room. Phones in both rooms were not working. Ocean view was amazing. Breakfast was excellent. Beach equipments such as chairs, umbrella and towels were free of charge.

Overall our stay was amazing! Our room and rest of the inn are kept very clean. We had a spectacular ocean view from our room and balcony. This place is beautifully decorated and well maintained. Their breakfast buffet is delicious. The staff is very courteous and helpful. Shops and restaurants are walking distance from the Inn. Our room could use a little maintenance, it had a humid smell.

Great location but rooms look very dated and smelly because water getting soaked on the carpet and not airing out I think. They had thanksgiving dinner so it was convenient with a lot of restaurants closed. Staff was very courteous.

The hotel is located perfectly across the street from shell beach. Also, plenty of shops/restaurants in walking distance. The breakfast was above average and the grounds were clean. The only complaint I have is the smell of the room. The overwhelming odor smacks you in the face the moment you open the door. Only after opening the windows and doors for 10 minutes does the smell become tolerable. Its a very strong old musty smell. If they could fix this, the stay would be perfect.

The location is excellent but the room carpets were old and stained, the AC started leaking mid night with wet carpet smell, and the guests in above unit were running around making loud noises until 2 AM.

The room was in very bad condition. Everything was dirty and dusty and not clean at all. Had to change the sheets before sleeping in them because it had looked like it wasn’t cleaned. The only good thing is the location.

We chose to stay at Pantai Inn with the family, but it turned out to be a very disappointing experience. From the moment we checked in, the lady in front was very unfriendly and unprofessional. We purchased the room at $400/night, and we chose the partial ocean view. The view from the small room was blocked by a van. I'll attach a picture to this review.

We had a wonderful stay at Pantai Inn and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting La Jolla. The location is truly unbeatable — just a short walk to a variety of attractions, restaurants, and shops. Best of all, you're steps away from the ocean with a perfect view of the sunset each evening. Our room was incredibly spacious, more like a full apartment than a hotel room. With a full kitchen, dining area, and living room, it was perfect for our family of four. The staff was exceptional. A special shoutout to Baca, who went above and beyond to make us — especially our son — feel right at home. He was kind, funny, and incredibly attentive. He made sure my son got an umbrella straw with his apple juice every morning. We also appreciated the little extras, like the complimentary breakfast with a variety of options to choose from, and the fridge in the lobby stocked with free waters and sodas. If we had to point out one downside, it would be that the property could use a few updates. Some elements feel a bit dated, but honestly, the charm, service, and location more than make up for it. Love the location right on the beach, walkable to parks, Children's pool, sea cave & shell beach (all but 1 beach access area was closed due to sea lion breeding season). Enjoyed watching the seals and sealions with their babies, pelicans, dolphins, Cormorants, etc. right across the street from the hotel. Watched the sunset from our balcony every night. Breakfast every morning was included with lots of choices (fruit, breads/bagels, fresh waffle bar, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, cereals, juices, etc.), very welcoming and accommodating staff, easy free parking. Our room was a studio King with ocean view and it had a small kitchenette as well. It's an older property and could use some updating, bathroom was small, balconies on our building were not private but have 2 chairs and a small table outside. Overall we had a nice stay and would stay here again.
Love the location right on the beach, walkable to parks, Children's pool, sea cave & shell beach (all but 1 beach access area was closed due to sea lion breeding season). Enjoyed watching the seals and sealions with their babies, pelicans, dolphins, Cormorants, etc. right across the street from the hotel. Watched the sunset from our balcony every night. A nice hotel, good location,but expensive for what it is We payed for and supposed to have an ocean view room but the room was at the street level,so all we could see was the street and the cars parked in front Fortunately there was not so much traffic, for the noise But the floors and walls of the building were not well isolated so we could hear every step and every noise , day and night :) The breakfast was good though

Can not beat the view or the location! You can walk to everything and you’re right on the beach. We had a 2 bedroom unit with kitchenette. Our only complaint was the bathroom. The shower was a bit of a mess and getting water everywhere while using the shower was unavoidable. But we would stay there again regardless!

We stayed in an ocean view studio. The room itself was nothing remarkable and the bathroom was ridiculously small, but the view and location made it worth it. You can literally hear the waves crashing all day long even with the windows closed. There is a balcony to take in the ocean view which we took full advantage of. Staff was friendly, grounds are well maintained. Parking is a little tight if you have a larger vehicle. Beware that even if you select "pay at property", you will be charged the full amount at the time of booking. I addressed this with expedia and got no resolution. For this reason alone, I will not be booking through expedia anymore.

We stayed for 7 days at oceanfront room. Bedroom carpet is not clean. Bathroom is very small and faucet is calcified. Balcony is shared with neighboring room. Phones in both rooms were not working. Ocean view was amazing. Breakfast was excellent. Beach equipments such as chairs, umbrella and towels were free of charge.

We chose to stay at Pantai Inn with the family, but it turned out to be a very disappointing experience. From the moment we checked in, the lady in front was very unfriendly and unprofessional. We purchased the room at $400/night, and we chose the partial ocean view. The view from the small room was blocked by a van. I'll attach a picture to this review.

The room and view was beautiful!! All of the employees were top notch! It was like home away from home, but on the water!! We missed breakfast by 15 minutes and the server literally went out of her way to whip up a breakfast for us. We will for sure be back!

We arrived at 2:30 pm to find our room was not yet ready. We walked for 30 minutes and came back to get the key. All was OK. It was a very nice place to spend the night as we really only spent 19 hours in La Jolla (departed at 10 am) the next morning.

We had a wonderful stay at Pantai Inn and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting La Jolla. The location is truly unbeatable — just a short walk to a variety of attractions, restaurants, and shops. Best of all, you're steps away from the ocean with a perfect view of the sunset each evening. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. However the room had a serious safety issue. They have a dresser with a glass top not secured to the wall. My 3 year old opened the top 2 drawers and it came down on her, thank goodness I was able to catch the glass before it slid off. Also, there is no elevator and they don’t offer help with bags up 2 flights of stairs.

The staff is always accommodating at Pantai. The rooms unique and comfortable. There are a lot of stairs to get to some rooms, breakfast is great every morning. Free all night, on street parking is also great if you have multiple cars.

Right along the coast, walking path all along the ocean, Children's Pool and other great locales right there - easy to see the seals and sea lions, palm trees galore, and easy to walk into town (within minutes). Eric greeted us when we arrived and was super welcoming, gave us the choice of two rooms. Ours was large, bedroom with incredibly comfy king bed and a door, kitchenette, full living room area, balcony to the ocean. Breakfast was included and had good options (eggs, fruit, bagels, yogurt, coffee, and more), nice fire pit, easy on site parking. I would say the living room area furniture could use an update, none of the furniture is luxurious (other than that bed!!), but comfy. And the location is incredible. Very welcoming staff.

This was an amazing place to stay. The view from our room over the crashing waves and setting sun might have been the best to be found in California; the serene water features, gentle music, and South Pacific decor were soothing and lovely but not overbearing; and the staff were patient, accommodating, and friendly. The free cookies and beverages, complimentary delicious breakfasts, and free beach supply rentals were all icing on an already amazing cake. I’ve already recommended this place by name to my friends and family and I do the same to you.

Had a great stay here. Room was amazing. Had a huge living area with a kitchenette. Amazing views of the ocean from there and the balcony. Water, soda and cookies were provided as well as a very nice breakfast in the morning. Can't say enough about how impressed we were. The only thing I'd mention is that it did not say there was a $25.00 per night parking fee on the website, but we were ok with it knowing the area.

Loved the service and the property. The rooms were clean and had everything you need on a trip. Staff was courteous and helpful. Great location with several beaches within walking distance. Parking was scarce but plenty of availability in front of the property once people leave after sunset. Breakfast buffet was an added plus, delicious and convenient. Definitely recommend and will come back!

The hotel is located perfectly across the street from shell beach. Also, plenty of shops/restaurants in walking distance. The breakfast was above average and the grounds were clean. The only complaint I have is the smell of the room. The overwhelming odor smacks you in the face the moment you open the door. Only after opening the windows and doors for 10 minutes does the smell become tolerable. Its a very strong old musty smell. If they could fix this, the stay would be perfect.

I was choosing between three hotels all near the beach and I’m so glad I picked the Pantai. Besides it’s fabulous location and free breakfast, the staff is incredibly helpful. Plus there is a golf cart that the staff will readily use to take you around town. It was hot and humid, which they say is very unusual but we ended up using the golf shuttle, cause it was a fast and breezy way to go to many of the farther locations we would normally walk. The air-conditioning was beyond excellent. When I saw the other two locations, I considered I was doubly glad we picked the Pantai There were also free cookies, free drinks, nonalcoholic offered. It was an excellent excellent stay

This hotel/Inn was everything you want and more for a vacation in La Jolla. It's very clean, situated in an excellent location, the balconies and roof top were amazing( including the views) , the staff was both friendly and accommodating, and the complementary breakfast was amazing. When I come back to La Jolla, I will stay there again. You can't go wrong. They offer free water, pop, coffee, tea, and homemade cookies all day to guests. They also offer free golf cart service to locations around the hotel. This is the place to stay in La Jolla. I can't say enough good things about it.
