Wildwood Motel

The overall property is maintained well, but the hotel is very dated and needs to be brought up to modern standards. The rooms are not accessible at all; there is a significant step up into the rooms (6+ inches). The only ramp is at the main office (crudely built). The fridge in our room was not very clean; the floors looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in quite awhile. The bathroom is very small and there isn’t very much room at the toilet. Overall it was a disappointing stay. Thankfully we were only there for one night.

Barely ever answer their phone to confirm a booking reservation. And when you show up to the property, there’s a note on the door to call the phone number that they very rarely answer. When checking in we had to go and look for somebody on the property. When checking out there was nobody to be found, and there were several other room keys left on the counter. The property is running by different people now who only do the bare minimum.. if that. Rooms are in dire need of a coat of paint and some renovation. This motel is only worth about $49 a night extremely overpriced at two nights being almost 300.

We had reserved a room with a queen size bed. The receptionist directed us to a room. It had 2 double beds, which we would have accepted, except the freezer in the fridge was completely blocked from top to bottom and the fridge door would not close. I went to the receptionist who told me that the original room had no water & the plumber had been called, but had not yet arrived. She directed us to a different room. In the second room, the freezer in the fridge had 2-3 nches on both sides and on the floor of the freezer. There was room to put my cold pack in it, but I would not put anything in the other part of the fridge, b/c it was dirty. The coffee pot unit was also dirty and had no sweetener of any kind, no cream or cream substitute & no stir sticks. It had 2 pkgs of coffee only, which we did not use, b/c the coffee unit was dirty. The bedspreads had stains on them, but the sheets & pillow cases appeared to be clean. There was a hole in the wall that had not been fixed. The bathroom had stains on the walls, floor & door. There was severe rust on the heat radiator. The bathtub had rust spots where the enamel had worn off. The inside of the toilet had not been cleaned properly. We would not use the tub to bathe or shower. The towels & facecloths had stains all over them & we would not use them. We are in our seventies & had no choice but to stay overnight. We couldn't wait to leave the next morning! I would not recommend this hotel to a dog!!!

I stay at the Wildwood every time I participate in the Nova Scotia Marathon. The price is reasonable (never goes up in price) for what you get. The bathroom could use some improvements and there was a hole punched in the wall which needs repair. A fair price for an okay hotel.

Room was clean. Beds were clean. Had a clean fridge too. Checked in later in the evening. Clerk was nice and helpful. Would return.
