The hotel is in a beautiful setting and our suite was spacious and private. The restaurant is quiet, delicious and fairly priced. The spa and yoga area is only open on appointment, and that was a bit of a disappointment. The pool is really nice. Loaner bikes were a nice touch.

Pool is nice…..but not enough lighting after sun is gone. Restaurant AND bar NOT available (especially when customers are looking for this type of convenience). Inconvenient location……away from the Jaco beach area (5 min drive)

Me and my friends loved our stay at this hotel. It was the best hotel we stayed at in Jaco. If you love being surrounded by nature check this one out. The pool is beautiful and the staff is very friendly, helpful & welcoming. The rooms are also spacious and they have a gated parking lot, so less worries about leaving your car parked at night.

The interior of the hotel is like a resort with a nice pool, lots of trees and very beautiful. But the hot tub doesn’t have hot water. The rooms are spacious but needs a bit upkeep like there is some sort of smell in the rooms, so have to keep a/c running. It feels like you are living in the nature which is very nice. The reception closes at 7 but there is security 24*7 and the facility is close gated, so very safe. Near by area is okay. Close to the Jaco downtown. 5 mins drive. Overall nice place to relax.

This place is a little oasis away from Jaco (5 minutes) Lots of birds in the morning and a friendly staff. Great pool, but hot tub doesn’t work. We’ve stayed here three times in the last 12 months and always easy and clean.

Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids; 12 years old) stayed for one night at DoceLunas and loved it! The pool is spectacular and the grounds are a beautiful bouquet of jungle and flowers. The staff were very helpful, spoke great English and you’ll be greeted by the hotels pooch and numerous sweet cats. The hotel is near the end of a road in a neighborhood which you can explore by bikes supplied by the hotel. There’s a 24 hour security guard at the gated entrance and we felt very safe. The rooms were great; large, comfy beds, and very private. The breakfast was incredible! You won’t be disappointed!

I have been to Jaco in the past and typically hate it, but when staying here I enjoyed my stay in Jaco. It is located about a five minute drive from downtown Jaco, but its worth the drive because this place is set up in a heavily wooded and landscaped area. The pool was awesome, with color changing lighting and a mini waterfall. Hearing both the morning and evening sounds here was priceless. I would definitely stay here again.

The grounds of the property are beautiful. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. The pool is a good size, great jacuzzi and wild monkeys visit to eat the fruit from the trees around the pool. The rooms are clean and big - the lighting in our room wasn’t the best - but everything else was amazing. We had breakfast included, and it was very tasty. We would definitely stay here again. It’s a great deal, close to everything but feels very secluded.

This hotel is amazing! So beautiful, in a garden setting with a fantastic large pool oasis area. The bar and restaurant have attentive and friendly staff, and great decently priced food and drinks! Our room was HUGE, nicely appointed, AC worked great. I would stay here again (and again…)

The property was beautiful! We loved seeing the monkeys, toucans, frogs, and other wildlife around the pool area. The resort was well kept, and we felt very safe with the gated entrance (There was always staff by the gate to let us in and out of the property). It was very close to the beach as well, a 5 minute drive. I recommend eating at Jaco Sabor just down the street

We loved the hotel. My wife and I were there for 3 nights as part of a combination business trip/vacation. The staff was wonderful, including great recommendations for restaurants. The facilities are very clean and beautiful. The best part of the stay is the beautiful grounds. It is a lush jungle with monkeys and birds, as well as beautiful flowers. The furnishings are pretty basic--older but functional pieces. The beds are very firm. As we were working remotely in the mornings, WiFi was important. It was pretty reliable, but sometimes dropped for a minute or two. It is very secure, with gates keeping out anyone who shouldn't be there. The included breakfast was quite good. My only negative was a lack of consistent hot water. I'm not sure if we were sharing a water heater with another room, or what the issue was. But each shower, hot water lasted only a couple of minutes--just long enough to soap up--and then turned cold. But overall, it's a beautiful facility with friendly people. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for 2 nights as a family of 4. The grounds were exceptionally beautiful. You are surrounded by lush gardens within the hotel. Definitely feels like youre in a quiet area not busy Jaco which I loved. The food was okay, but breakfast was cold the day we had continental breakfast. Staff extremely friendly and the pool and overall hotel was clean. The shower though wasnt working properly even after notifying staff. They tried to fix it but never could get the shower water to stay a normal temperature. It was either very cold or very hot and burned ourselves a couple times. Id still stay there again if in the area.

My husband and I came her for our honeymoon, and let me tell you. It was PERFECT. There were a few key things I was looking for and this hotel aced all of them. 1) I was worried about bugs (I know bugs are unavoidable outdoors but I just wanted to know none were in my bed). Docelunas provided incredible clean rooms. 2. Easy check in/friendly staff: we arrived a little late cause we got lost coming from the airport and the staff greeted us right away. Had a smile on their face every time we saw them, and were extremely patient with our poor Spanish speaking. 3. I wanted a room that felt like Costa Rica and didn’t feel super commercial. This cute hotel is just outside of the main downtown, it’s quiet, and the ambience is unbeatable. You truely are in the forest with all the wildlife and beautiful sounds. 10 out of 10 recommend staying here. It exceeded all of our expectations. Also the cats and puppy running around. Are super friendly and hard not to want to adopt.

I wish we could have stayed here longer! We arrived at SJO at nearly midnight and didn't get in until after 1am, but it was no problem. I had arranged a private driver to bring our family through the front desk and he was right there waiting for us with a sign with our name and drove us in a clean private van. One of the resident kitties greeted us and we were shown to our room not quite realizing how gorgeous the grounds are in person. Awaking the next morning, what a treat! The grounds are lovely, we had their delicious Tico breakfast (teens approved!), and were delighted to have the wildlife show come right to our view as we ate: white faced monkeys in the trees right in front of us, iguanas, etc. The room was great and easy for our family (2nd floor, no elevators so FYI about that), the whole resort was quiet, clean, the pool so refreshing, the staff extremely helpful. Keisha helped multiple times - from helping answer questions over email and WhatsApp before we arrived, arranging our private drives to/from SJO, to helping order dinner to be delivered from a local restaurant since we just wanted to stay in their paradise and the hotel restaurant was closed. We didn't need a beach resort coming from Los Angeles, so the jungle/tropical surroundings were perfect for us. 2 adults & 2 teens give this hotel all the thumbs up! Thank you for taking care of us and we hope to return!

The staff were extremely pleasant, personable and helpful. The property is gorgeous with colourful lush gardens and a beautiful spa worthy pool. Our room was very clean and spacious! Great way to start our trip in Costa Rica!

King size bed! Which is really fitting for a “cabana” as palatial as this place. The room was absolutely stunning, with a private patio out front. We were floored at how nice it was. The pool was wonderful too, pretty large, warm, and with a little waterfall. The city of Jaco was around the corner and walkable if you’re so inclined. Which you’d need to visit for at least lunch since they only serve breakfast and dinner. We did not have dinner and would say the light continental breakfast was average if not a little lacking. And we’re still surprised that a country that prides itself on coffee doesn’t have a big pot brewing early (6am?) for the “early birds” that are up at the crack of dawn. Overall, highly recommended- would have loved to stay a few more days.

Docelunas was a great place to just chill out by the pool. Suite was very spacious, room service available! Location is out of the way of busy Jaco, but still close enough to get uber eats delivered!!!!

Docelunas was a great place to just chill out by the pool. Suite was very spacious, room service available! Location is out of the way of busy Jaco, but still close enough to get uber eats delivered!!!!

The grounds of the property are beautiful. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. The pool is a good size, great jacuzzi and wild monkeys visit to eat the fruit from the trees around the pool. The rooms are clean and big - the lighting in our room wasn’t the best - but everything else was amazing. We had breakfast included, and it was very tasty. We would definitely stay here again. It’s a great deal, close to everything but feels very secluded.

This was the second time my husband and I have stayed at this beautiful location. The first was our honeymoon in 2011. From the welcoming staff at the front desk to the attentive and kind staff in the restaurant, we always feel well looked after. The grounds are gorgeous and meticulously maintained. I use a walker and the paved pathways are fabulous! The front desk staff helped us to coordinate with one of the local tours & the restaurant staff really took care of us (quick with the Imperial refills! LOL). Thank you, DoceLunas - you are a treasure!

Loved that it was quiet, just 2 or 3 minutes drive from the main strip but away from the bustle. The grounds are gorgeous and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Food was great but their cocktails were just a little sweet for my taste. All things considered, would probably go back next time I'm in Jaco

I wish we could have stayed here longer! We arrived at SJO at nearly midnight and didn't get in until after 1am, but it was no problem. I had arranged a private driver to bring our family through the front desk and he was right there waiting for us with a sign with our name and drove us in a clean private van. One of the resident kitties greeted us and we were shown to our room not quite realizing how gorgeous the grounds are in person. Awaking the next morning, what a treat! The grounds are lovely, we had their delicious Tico breakfast (teens approved!), and were delighted to have the wildlife show come right to our view as we ate: white faced monkeys in the trees right in front of us, iguanas, etc. The room was great and easy for our family (2nd floor, no elevators so FYI about that), the whole resort was quiet, clean, the pool so refreshing, the staff extremely helpful. Keisha helped multiple times - from helping answer questions over email and WhatsApp before we arrived, arranging our private drives to/from SJO, to helping order dinner to be delivered from a local restaurant since we just wanted to stay in their paradise and the hotel restaurant was closed. We didn't need a beach resort coming from Los Angeles, so the jungle/tropical surroundings were perfect for us. 2 adults & 2 teens give this hotel all the thumbs up! Thank you for taking care of us and we hope to return!

This place is really special. It's as if they built a botanical garden first and then put a charming hotel inside of it. Great staff, clean premises, delicious food, and away from the noise and commotion of the beach, but walkable to it in 25 minutes. Quiet and serene place, highly recommended!

I have been to Jaco in the past and typically hate it, but when staying here I enjoyed my stay in Jaco. It is located about a five minute drive from downtown Jaco, but its worth the drive because this place is set up in a heavily wooded and landscaped area. The pool was awesome, with color changing lighting and a mini waterfall. Hearing both the morning and evening sounds here was priceless. I would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I came her for our honeymoon, and let me tell you. It was PERFECT. There were a few key things I was looking for and this hotel aced all of them. 1) I was worried about bugs (I know bugs are unavoidable outdoors but I just wanted to know none were in my bed). Docelunas provided incredible clean rooms. 2. Easy check in/friendly staff: we arrived a little late cause we got lost coming from the airport and the staff greeted us right away. Had a smile on their face every time we saw them, and were extremely patient with our poor Spanish speaking. 3. I wanted a room that felt like Costa Rica and didn’t feel super commercial. This cute hotel is just outside of the main downtown, it’s quiet, and the ambience is unbeatable. You truely are in the forest with all the wildlife and beautiful sounds. 10 out of 10 recommend staying here. It exceeded all of our expectations. Also the cats and puppy running around. Are super friendly and hard not to want to adopt.

The property was beautiful! We loved seeing the monkeys, toucans, frogs, and other wildlife around the pool area. The resort was well kept, and we felt very safe with the gated entrance (There was always staff by the gate to let us in and out of the property). It was very close to the beach as well, a 5 minute drive. I recommend eating at Jaco Sabor just down the street

The hotel is in a beautiful setting and our suite was spacious and private. The restaurant is quiet, delicious and fairly priced. The spa and yoga area is only open on appointment, and that was a bit of a disappointment. The pool is really nice. Loaner bikes were a nice touch.

Stayed here for 2 nights as a family of 4. The grounds were exceptionally beautiful. You are surrounded by lush gardens within the hotel. Definitely feels like youre in a quiet area not busy Jaco which I loved. The food was okay, but breakfast was cold the day we had continental breakfast. Staff extremely friendly and the pool and overall hotel was clean. The shower though wasnt working properly even after notifying staff. They tried to fix it but never could get the shower water to stay a normal temperature. It was either very cold or very hot and burned ourselves a couple times. Id still stay there again if in the area.

Beautiful and tranquil property away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Has a beautiful garden and pool. We woke up early to see the capuchin monkeys swinging around the trees. We loved our large room and bathroom. We ate at the restaurant and it was pretty decent food.

The best thing about this hotel was the size of the unit, which was very spacious. It could do with some upgrading, but overall was very pleasant and comfortable. It is also in a great location, outside of the main town. Breakfast was mediocre, but the staff were friendly. My biggest complaint is that there was no hot water for the shower, and so every shower I had was cold.

This hotel is amazing! So beautiful, in a garden setting with a fantastic large pool oasis area. The bar and restaurant have attentive and friendly staff, and great decently priced food and drinks! Our room was HUGE, nicely appointed, AC worked great. I would stay here again (and again…)

My wife and I spent a week at Hotel Docelunes while studying spanish. Our stay was in the middle of the rainy season, so our experience may not be typical for a high season guest. For several of our nights we were the only guests on property. This does have its pluses, we had the pool to ourselves and parking was never a problem. The downside is that there were almost no amenities. Aside from breakfast in the morning, there is no restaurant service, bar service, and no spa or yoga. Breakfast every day was nice. Plato Tipico with a beans and rice mix, eggs, fresh fruit and coffee. Visiting with our server every morning was very nice. As far as the property is concerned, the gardens are beautiful with tons of flowers, birds, iguana, and from time to time monkeys. We enjoyed sitting pool side and watching the wildlife. Our room was large and very comfortable and the bed was nice. We did have an issues with hot water but after a lesson from the staff on what to turn on when, we were able to take hot showers (Sink faucet on full, then shower on, then sink to 1/4, and leave on while taking a shower). Parking was secure as we were behind a gate with a 24 hour guard. Front desk staff leave before 6. After that, other than the guard, there is no staff on property. If you need something, walk to the small market 100 yards off property or the Soda across the street. I suspect this was a very nice resort 10-15 years ago. With that said, we would stay again.

Plato Tipico with a beans and rice mix, eggs, fresh fruit and coffee. Visiting with our server every morning was very nice. As far as the property is concerned, the gardens are beautiful with tons of flowers, birds, iguana, and from time to time monkeys. We enjoyed sitting pool side and watching the wildlife. Our room was large and very comfortable and the bed was nice. We did have an issues with hot water but after a lesson from the staff on what to turn on when, we were able to take hot showers (Sink faucet on full, then shower on, then sink to 1/4, and leave on while taking a shower). Parking was secure as we were behind a gate with a 24 hour guard. Front desk staff leave before 6. After that, other than the guard, there is no staff on property. If you need something, walk to the small market 100 yards off property or the Soda across the street. I suspect this was a very nice resort 10-15 years ago. With that said, we would stay again.

El estado de las habitaciones y el mantenimiento general de la propiedad es aceptable, el problema es que habían demasiadas cucarachas dentro de la habitación. En total matamos 5 gigantes, se nos metieron hasta en los bolsos y dormimos muy incómodos por que se nos subieran a la cama o a nuestros niños.
