Forest Park Hotel

Really lovely hotel, I love the history and the antique style of the hotel. Not to everyone’s taste, but I enjoy that kind of thing. The breakfast was ok.. hot food was very cold. Coffee wasn’t the best. Our room was right under a generator that was going all night so it was very noisy all night. One of the bath towels had a poo stain on and I didn’t notice it until I had finished drying myself so I had to have another shower. No bath plug so my 5 year old had to have a shower. Could do with a deep clean but I’d say 7/10 experience. Staff were friendly. Indoor Pool was freezing so didn’t even bother and the sauna and hot tub was broken. Despite this I Would stay again. Lovely views throughout. Nice historic place.

Sweeping of areas around the hotel would be good and maybe update the games room. Glad we stayed but won’t be visiting again.

Friendly staff welcomed me on arrival. I was given a good sized room which was very clean and comfortable. Used the restaurant twice with food being excellent on both occasions. Lovely location with great views. Parking a little chaotic but fine if you don’t mind parking a little away from the hotel.

This was our 4th time to the hotel unlike other times the indoor pool was freezing. Also like the last time the hot breakfast was lukewarm due to trays not being very warm Everything else was as expected though at this time of year it was not very busy.

We truly admire its history and nature's contact. However, it is a VERY old facility now a days and all facilities are not in ideal status. Inside pool is good but not heated, outside pool abandoned not working, tennis pitch abandoned, small gym, toys for babes old and broken, shower water pressure low. Dining area is cousy and breakfast is good and with good variety. Room space was very good with a nice small terrace for couple tea/coffee time. WiFi is good enouigh. Restaurant lunch is with great flavour, we tried a pasta with salmon and my kidds a pizza marinara. For a laid-back experience, it is a very comfortable space and great spot for mountain walk around.

The hotel was comfortable for our needs. The breakfast was very good and the swimming pool was an added bonus.

Nous avons réservé une chambre supérieure, certes la déco est vieillotte et la moquette rapiécée mais la chambre est grande avec un très grand lit et un balcon sympa. Le petit déjeuner sucré et salé est correct sans plus.nous avons regretté que la piscine ne soit pas ouverte malgré les indications du site qui disaient l'inverse. Si le vieillot ne vous fait pas horreur avec un prix plutôt bien placé, ça fait le job.

Interessantes Hotel allerdings weiß ich nicht wo die 4 Sterne herkommen Zunächst das positive: Die Zimmer sind recht geräumig und sauber. Die Lage ist toll gelegen mitten im Wald und die Umgebung ruhig. Das ala Care essen war lecker, preislich gut und die Portionen recht groß. Aber das negative überwiegt: Es ist ein riesiges Hotel, welches fast etwas gruselig wird. Die Einrichtung ist in den 60er stehen geblieben. Es ist muffig und stark in die Jahre gekommen. Der Außenpool war offen, allerdings sind hier einige Bodenfließen kaputt. Der Innenpool war offen aber es gab keine Sitz/Liege Möglichkeiten, der direkt angeschlossen Balkon war schmutzig und nicht einladend. Sauna, Whirlpool und Fitnessraum waren geschlossen. Ansonsten werden manche Gänge/Treppenhäuser als abstellager für alte Möbel genutzt, die Spielgeräte aus den 80ern mehr als skurril. Die Zimmer sind leider sehr hellhörig. Auch das Frühstück ist verbesserungswürdig, da fast alle Speisen (Eier, Omelette, Kroketten) kalt sind und es kein frisches Obst oder Brot gibt. Insgesamt hat das Hotel eine spannende Geschichte. Es ist 90 Jahre alt, aber es hat definitiv seine beste Zeit seit mind. 30 Jahren hinter sich.

we were not happy that we were not told that there was a festival on: the noise was really awful and lasted until 10.30 and during the daytime we could not use the outdoor pool area at all. Generally we do not think this is a fourstar hotel - everything is outdated and sad Poul & Jytte Mansfeld

Camera pulita e profumata. Personale cordiale. Buffet per la cena e per la colazione buono. Purtroppo l'acqua della piscina interna era gelida e la spa chiusa. Nel complesso è un bel posto per un breve soggiorno.

Super clean but overly dated! If you are happy with 10/10 cleaning but don’t mind the old design it’s the perfect stay!

We have stayed at Forest Park Hotel many times because of its great location & cleanliness unfortunately their standard of cleanliness was very poor. The bathroom especially was very dirty. Breakfast was also not very good. Would not recommend!

Bina eski ama temizlik ve konfor çok iyiydi. Tekrardan burada kalır mıyım? Kesinlikle evet.

The room was clean, the bathroom was clean but the sink taps was very dirty and the water coming out the tap was not with full force, just spitting

Ενδιαφέρουσα και ευχάριστη εμπειρία η διαμονή σε ένα ιστορικό ξενοδοχείο σε μια υπέροχη τοποθεσία. Πάρα πολύ καθαρό, αν και αρκετά σημεία χρειάζονται ανακαίνιση.

Beautiful hotel, clean but needs modernising

We had a quick family trip (2 adults 3 kids) up to the mountains and decided to stay at forest park despite some mixed reviews. For us, it was a great trip! I suggest embracing this hotel for what it is: an ageing giant with really dedicating staff and clean rooms. We were in adjoining rooms 716 and 717. Our rooms were warm, clean and comfy. Dated a bit? Yes, but little old school details like crown moulding and vintage radios built into the bedframes are things we embrace and appreciate. The bar was, again, living in a past era but we found it a refreshing break from cookie cutter modern. Service was fantastic and prices really reasonable. Get the brandy sour and read the back story!! Our kids discovered a random little game nook on the 4th floor and played pinball etc. We had a great sleep without issue. Breakfast was hot, fresh and again served by very dedicated staff. Staff were generally a highlight here. Everyone worked as if they really care about the hotel. Overall, at €70 per room for midweek winter in Troodos, we were more than satisfied at forest park. If you stay here, take time to look at the display cases from generations past, and sit on dated lounge sofas absorbing the vibe. Notice things like the hardwood floors, crown moulding, cross stitched wall hangings etc. I think, in summay, I understand why this hotel elicits such strong opinions. If it's your thing it's REALLY gonna be your thing, and if it's not, it'll really put you off. For us, we loved this hotel

Great breakfast, friendly staff and the quickest reception checkin ever. Wifi worked great. Parking is plentiful but on the windy hill drive. We stayed on a Saturday and Sunday night and there seemed to be children screaming and shouting until gone 10pm on Saturday in the public areas. Not on sunday. Overall great hotel, bit dated but loved the style.

For the size of the hotel, there is very little parking spaces. Check in was fine, the receptionist gave us all the info we needed. We had room 609, on 6th floor, it was a good size with a balcony and 2 chairs and a table with a lovely view. Our balcony overlooked the indoor swimming pool and the glass on the sky light was badly cracked and broken. The room was clean, bed really big and comfortable. We had towels and complimentary shampoo, conditioner , shower gel etc. Theres also a hairdryer. The bar area is very dated, felt like a canteen, but it was comfortable and theres a nice outdoor area to sit in. Again, needed up dating. There were only 2 restaurants open in Platres in the evening, which we didnt fancy either of them so decided to go back to hotel to eat. It was buffet style, although you could have had food from the bar area too, from a menu. The buffet food was very uninspiring, little choice, and cold. It was pretty awful to say the least. We told the waiter, who spoke to the chef and we were not charged for it. Breakfast was also buffet style, better than evening meal, not a bad choice, but by the time we got down at 9am there wasnt much left, it didnt blosetil 10am, so not very good. You had the usual greedy people who piled they're plates up high and then left it. Check out was ok. Needless to say, i wouldn't stay there again and wouldn't recommend it. The whole hotel was very tired looking and needs modernising

Charme et confort. Diner et petit-déjeuner excellents. Dommage que la végétation (arbres) si proche de l'immeuble occulte beaucoup la vue depuis les balcons

For value for money this is an excellent large hotel in a lovely mountain setting. The bedroom was very large with a comfortable Bed, good lighting etc. The Hitel in areas in need if some refurbishment but for overall value its a good choice.

We had a wonderful stay at Forest Park. The room, view, breakfast and outdoor area were all impeccable. It was nice and quiet, one could only hear the birds sing. I have to salute the staff! They were all very friendly and serviceminded. There is a walking distance to Platres, and we met few cars on our way. I can easily recommend this hotel. :-)

The location is excellent! The elevator did not work, claiming that it broke down today, it turns out that it has not been working for two weeks. We got a room on the third floor, had to use a freight elevator to the fifth floor and then go up half a floor of stairs. Yes yes, you go up to the fifth floor and then you walk up to the third floor... It's weird and it's not clear how to calculate the building's floors there. Rude staff, food was average and below. The place is neglected and not maintained. Beautiful history, it's just a shame that whoever owns the place doesn't like his job...

Dans un environnement paisible et hors des sentiers hyper touristiques de l’île, cet hôtel est un musé à lui seul. Hôtel parfaitement situé pour une rando ou visiter les églises peintes de la région.

Dejligt stille omgivet af bjerge og skov. Hotel af ældre dato, men rent og fredeligt.

Such a beautiful hotel the nature around it is so beautiful and peaceful. I love how historic the hotel is.

L’endroit serait parfait pour Agathe Christie. Hôtel des années 1940, qui a connu ses heures de gloire et ça se ressent. Pièce charmante pour le dîner, avec ses 6 mouflons en cuivre sur les murs. Bon accueil. L’hôtel est au milieu des pins. Chambre agréable avec son balcon. Excellent rapport qualité /prix.

For value for money this is an excellent large hotel in a lovely mountain setting. The bedroom was very large with a comfortable Bed, good lighting etc. The Hitel in areas in need if some refurbishment but for overall value its a good choice.

Το προσωπικό ήταν ευγενικό. Όμως, το ξενοδοχείο χρειάζεται επειγόντως ανακαίνιση. Πρόκειται για ένα ιστορικό ξενοδοχείο σε αξιοζήλευτη περιοχή μέσα στα πεύκα. Το δωμάτιο μας ήταν στην παλιά πτέρυγα η οποία θύμιζε 70’s-90’s! Όλα παλιά! Το μπουφέ το βράδυ και το πρωινό ήταν καλά.

Beautiful place surrounded by trees, hotel with tradition hosting many famous people in the past - I love such places. Delicious breakfast with nice selection of local products. Clean and spacious room. Amazing orange pie in the restaurant. The only improvements I would make: add more USB sockets in the room - there was only 1 adapter and 1 USB socket but it took me some time to find it. I was also a bit disappointed with a la carte menu in the restaurant - I would add more Cypriot dishes and less pizza/pasta/ burgers. Coming back next year (or even this autumn, we will see)
