Paid for a king bed but was told they only had queens. No elevator. My wife had a stroke and has trouble going up and down stairs. ice machine was out of order. No breakfast, only a dirty coffee machine in room.

FIRE ALARM NOT IN SERVICE!!! No power at fire panel. Wife checked in so I didn't see that there was no power otherwise I would have stayed somewhere else. Minor issues shower curtain rod was about to fall off mount. Disgusting ports on spa tub. Otherwise stay was great.Needsnupdates . EV chargers a plus but not needed.

VERY DISAPPOINTED. Room wasn’t cleaned, had to go to the desk and ask for clean towels & TP. Bathroom was dirty, very dim lighting & no working fan. The hot water handle just fell off of the sink in my hand & the shower faucet was also broken. AC wouldn’t stay on long enough to cool the room. Soap dispenser in shower was broken, had mold on it & they left one hotel sized bar of soap for 3 guests. Ice machine was broken. Paid for 2 queen bed room got 2 double beds on queen platforms. Docks are in bad shape & are unsafe. Wouldn’t recommend this property.

I would have given it 5 stars but the carpeting had several stains , some hair in the tub and the shower handle fell off when adjusting the shower. Really just little things! The desk manager was super nice and helpful and was the best at customer service I have seen in a long time! The bed was clean and comfortable and the view from the balcony of the Cheboygan river was nice! They also have docks you can park your boat right on the river with easy access to the hotel. Overall a very good stay, I would come here again!

Enjoyed this old hotel. For the price it is enjoyable. Each room has a back door leading to a patio with chairs. Great view of the river out the windows and back door. Also a long dock to park your boat, or fish off of.

Good parking. Quiet. Friendly staff. Easy check-in. Nothing fancy but good place to sleep. Clean Older motel that could use some updating. Would have liked usb ports to charge phone. Mattress could be replaced. Lock on patio door was not very secure. I would stay again.

This hotel is in a great location. All of the rooms face the Cheboygan River and have a patio or balcony. It was very peaceful sitting outside. The staff was very friendly, and the hotel appears to be family run. The hospitality was outstanding. These were some of the friendliest people I have dealt with at a hotel in a long time, which makes it difficult to prepare the next part of my review. The issue lies with the cleanliness. The sheets in my room were clearly not changed. There was a brown stain on one of the pillows, and the sheets and pillowcases had an abundance of hair on them. This was promptly corrected when brought to the attention of management. The toilet was dirty and the bathtub had a visible ring of soap scum and the floor was black. The countertops and other surfaces in the room were extremely dusty. The amount of dust and grime all over the room made it evident that housekeeping is not a top priority here. The amount of accumulation in the toilet, shower, and other places was clearly not from just one guest. I ended up going to Walmart across the street and purchasing some bathroom cleaner, a scrub brush, and some sanitizing wipes. $7 and 30 minutes of scrubbing/wiping later, and my room was now more habitable. Normally I would have turned around and left, but the only other option in town is the Best Western next door for an additional $90/night.

I enjoyed having the patio to sit outside enjoying the fresh air and watch the boats go by on the river. The bed was comfortable. Water pressure was very poor for the shower. The screen door was broke and the toilet ran frequently. The bathroom had multiple spider webs in it.

View from room was nice but over all would not stay again. Pillow cases were dirty and hairs on toilet and bathtub. Needs remolded and updated for sure. Staff was nice.

We were in town for our anniversary so I focused more on the activities surroundings than the room itself. The access to the river was a selling point for me. The room was dirty out dated and unloved. The linens were very musty. The owner is very nice and we didn’t spend much time in the room so it was ok. He did mention that they are closed during the winter seasons which explains the unkept state of the property.

Recent renovations, so looks nice upon entrance. But not clean at all. I took lots of pictures if interested. Shower was disgusting, curtain rod was broken, stains on the wall, refrigerator was gross, washcloths and towels had holes in them, dust caked on everything everywhere. Gentleman that did check in was incredibly nice. The woman vacuuming the halls at 7:00 in the morning wasn’t pleasant. And then she stopped and stared at us the whole walk down the hall and to the exit. It was weird and uncomfortable. She didn’t say have a nice day, or anything. She just stopped. And stared.

There have been clear attempts to improve the hotel, but it is in need of a good cleaning. Among other things, we found hair in the bed and sink. The shower was grungy. There were cobwebs/spider webs in several spots, and the windowsills were dirty. In addition, the manager said he would refund one night of the two nights we had planned to stay, but he billed us for the full amount. It has been three days without the refund.

Pros-Beautiful scenery with river off balcony. Walkable to shopping, restaurants, and gas stations. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Cons- Stains throughout carpet, furniture dated , mattress was old and lumpy. When I started the water for the bathtub , a huge clump.of hair came floating from drain, it'was really gross. Towels- there were 3 small bath towels available for 2 of us to use over 2 days- advise to bring your own.towels. For the price, it was acceptable with great location and view.

The patio door was no longer attached. Microwave and fridge were ancient. There was a strong smell of men's cologne in the room that didn't go away. The price was great. Looked like they might be in the process of updating. Within walking distance to plenty of dining options. The docks were in serious need of repair.

Although the staff tried their best, and were friendly seem to be willing to help but. But. the hotel room was very uncleaned. Carpet had hair and dust along the baseboards. Lamps, tables, microwave, all had dust on them. Bathroom tub had soap ring around in it. Mold was forming around the handles. Toilet looked like it had not been cleaned. The screws were loose on the door lock.I had to tighten them down. There was a bandade placed over the peak hole. The bedding was good. The sheets and pillows looked and smell clean, no signs of bed bugs. Probably will not stay there again. And they had no coffee in rooms. Ice machine was empty.

Property not as pictured. Could definitely use some updates. Shower had very little pressure, beds extremely soft. Only one night stand between the beds and unreachable from either bed. It did have a microwave and frig, a plus. Sits on the river, so nice view and easy if you are traveling with a pet. Staff nice, just not what expected with reviews others gave. Too bad because some of the motels in Mackinaw City are also not kept up( more than half) and would have driven the 15 miles if better.

The parking lot was not lit, and we had to enter from an outside door to get to the room. Very outdated furniture and bathroom was disgusting. The reviews on your website were deceiving.

Internet was down, no breakfast

The Internet went out on Saturday night. It was still out on Sunday. I had to go to McDonald's to use their Internet and submit my time sheet for work! The fan in the bathroom worked intermittently. They need to powerwash the exterior of the building. It was covered in spiders and webbing. Yuck. There is a breakfast area, but no actual breakfast is served. It's not terrible. But the level of service is a bit sketchy

Staff was very friendly. Room was clean with a nice view of the canal. Bed was uncomfortable and there was an odor throughout the building. Room service to clean the room or bring fresh towels was not provided.

The room had a patio overlooking the main canal. It was fun to watch boats going by. The room was large. The TV was very small and there was enough space for a comfortable chair...but there was none. No breakfast -just coffee. Price was good. Would stay there again if we are in the area.

Registration was easy and Billy was very helpful and friendly every time we pass through to our room. We enjoyed being on the river but it was a little difficult to sit out on the patio because the water fowl wanted to join us. Wasn’t too bad until somebody from up on the second floor decided to feed the ducks, which made seagulls and ducks all come running.

Manager Billy was excellent. Very helpful and accommodating.

Stayed here for 23 yrs straight, newer owners. Do not know how to operate computer, bugs and cobwebs everwhere. Patio had not been swept in weeks or more. Sheets wrong size for bed. No toilet paper went to get more at 9:30 and they said they were closed!

I appreciated the front desk person going the extra mile to accommodate my wife’s handicap. It was really appreciated.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Fleetwood! We loved the view and wished we had a boat to pull right up to the dock in front of room at the hotel...maybe next time...the customer service was great - they even personally called to make sure we were ok (because were running way past the check-in time) and he welcomed us when we finally arrived! The room and the grounds are very clean - the flowers on the dock are beautiful and well kept! The price is right! Hope to stay again if we head north on another trip.

The staff was very responsive to my needs, they fixed everything that broke in a timely fashion.

The property was really nice. The room was comfortable and roomy. There was a private patio that we could sit on and watch the boats going up and down the river. We saw quite a bit of wildlife in the river-ducks and an otter.

Booked King room, got two Queen beds. Should not have happened. No breakfast.

Very dingy outside which was off-putting. Inside, carpets were stained which indicates poor upkeep on the property. No breakfast at all. Would not come back as price per night was too high.

I felt it was over priced and not in the best shape but it was clean. Also they offered a coffee bar in the morning that they didnt stock. It looked the same the night before.

Outside of building wasn’t too nice to look at but absolutely loved my room once inside. Beautiful view outside from my room. Great location. Would stay again.

Disappointing. Advertises breakfast; no breakfast is served. Bathroom and fixtures need updating. No sink hole cover for bathroom sink. Should be made clear in advance that you have to use stairs to get to the 2nd floor. Way overpriced for what you get.

Wonderful place to stay. The staff was very friendly and the rooms are clean. It is an older building, but very cute. The veiw from our balcony looking over the river was beautiful. Also the big boy next store was a great bonus since we could just walk over.
