Beautiful property that’s conveniently located. Super clean, helpful and nice staff. Elevator wasn’t working when we were there over the weekend but we were on the 2nd floor so it was fine. Elegant place.

Hotel Atwater is a revelation. Super clean, very helpful and kind staff, luxurious rooms. Not to mention the beach towels, gym access. and $30 breakfast credit. It is steps from the water and delicious eateries. I've stayed in every hotel in Avalon and this is tops. Will return!

Beautiful and convenient property - should have coffee makers in the room, first hotel we have stayed in that I can remember that has not had coffee - they do have a nice but expensive coffee shop downstairs close to the elevators, but not the same as enjoying that first cup in your room without having to get dressed and leave your room

Good room which was well equipped. Staff very friendly. Only slight let down was no restaurant in the hotel. We also found, being late November, there were not many eating options outside the hotel - and of those available many had fully shut before 8 if not earlier.

Very nice hotel in Avalon that offers luggage pickup from the Catalina Express drop off location. Hotel is very well done but the rooms are quite small. Also be aware of the $40 per night destination fee, but they do try and offset it with a $20 voucher to select restaurants or bars and 10% off select activities.

Beautiful lobby, bell service for luggage to and from the pier. Staff were friendly and helpful but could never reach the desk by phone and the desk was unmanned for a period of time. Supplied complimentary prosecco and when asked, had sparkling cider but they forgot to bring to the room. Rooms were very small with only one stool for sitting. Complimentary bottled water and a small refrigerator were lovely amenities. Close to everything and didn’t have to walk up a hill.

Excellent Hotel and staff. Was a wonderful experience and will definitely stay there again on our next trip to Catalina. The property was well-maintained, in excellent condition, and decorated exceptionally well. Rooms are small but very classy and comfortable. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and outgoing. Will be back!

Not impressed by this hotel at all. The staff listed a few restaurants they are affiliated with that we will get $20 off and when we went that wasn't true. Not that $20 matter. The rooms are okay, really really small. In general not impressed with Catalina, the island looked dirty and no good food. The rooms gave me allergies, too much dust and rugs looked dirty. Not impressed. Not horrible either. Just OKAY.

Was pleasantly surprised at how clean and well kept the hotel was. Didn’t have that mildew smell that most all of the local houses/rentals have and was really well kept. Staff was nice, convenient coffee/food area, and super close to the center of Avalon beach. No complaints which made enjoying vacation easy.

Very nice hotel with a friendly front desk staff. Everything was clean and high quality. Excellent location. BUT the room was sooooooo small. Like barely get around the beds small. It was ok for one night—if staying longer I would need a larger space and at this nightly price point I’ll stay elsewhere next time.

The property had its pros and cons. Pros it’s close to everything since Avalon is fairly small that’s a nice bonus. There is a $20 credit offered every day from the time you check in at 4 PM until Midnight. We missed the first one because we had already purchased our food before being aware of the credit. Cons there is loud noise if you are sleeping on the street side of the building. We woke up to noise at 6 AM and asked the front desk attendant about this there was no resolution and the front desk attendant was not polite and seemed bothered by the call. Be warned you may not get great sleep if you are on the street side.

The hotel lobby is very welcoming and the decor is great. Our room was small and it was not cleaned during our time even though we were gone all day. Coming back to an uncleaned room after exploring all day is discouraging. Soap was empty so amenities weren't checked ahead of our arrival. Phone rang and rang at front desk so no one was bothering to pick up

Our experience was great, would stay here again. It was so nice that the staff was waiting by the boat when we got in, to take our luggage back to hotel for us for free, so we didnt have to carry it around until check in. loved the service.

Atwater was a nice conveniently located hotel with a beautiful colonial feel. The best part was the bottles of champagne- which was a great touch. Jake at the front desk was from England and interning at the hotel - was very nice and helpful. It was my daughter’s birthday and upon requesting- they sent up chocolates and a signed card. The rooms are very small but worked out for our mother daughter trip. Would stay here again because of the location.

We absolutely loved the Hotel Atwater. It was beautifully maintained, and the staff were lovely. We especially appreciate how kind Lily was with the two younger children on our trip who had proposed working for the front desk. She gave them "jobs" to do and helped them make name tags. They had a blast playing and it kept them busy and learning. She was truly wonderful!

We experienced a mix-up with our room assignment, but David provided excellent customer service and quickly gave us the room we had requested—with a stunning view of the ocean! The location of this hotel is its best asset. It’s within 10 minutes of the Catalina Express dock, grocery store, restaurants, and charming specialty shops. That said, we were a bit disappointed with some aspects of the room: no iron or ironing board, no microwave, and the room itself was quite small with very little space to move around. The flooring is also due for an update. Overall, the ocean view and convenient location were the highlights of our stay, and David’s outstanding service made a positive difference.

Front Desk staff had an attitude problem. I didn't feel that I am welcomed. Looking for a luggage service and only received run around. Called several times to get a hold of Hotel staff and bell service personnel at the port. Ended up walk all the way from the port to the hotel.

Front Desk staff had an attitude problem. I didn't feel that I am welcomed. Looking for a luggage service and only received run around. Called several times to get a hold of Hotel staff and bell service personnel at the port. Ended up walk all the way from the port to the hotel.

Person who was supposed to meet us at the dock left work early. We had to walk from the dock to the hotel with our luggage. While it was not an extremely long distance, the expectation from the hotel was that someone would meet us when we disembarked to handle our luggage.

Beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Avalon. It’s our second stay here. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms are updated. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Big advantage is that they will store your luggage before check in and after checkout so that you can sight see with ease. Definitely recommend staying here.

The Hotel Atwater was outstanding. Our first time at this downtown icon. Top notch location: steps from the beach, the pier, Catalina Express, Bluewater restaurant, Discover Catalina bus tour, shopping. The hotel staff was warm and professional. Coffee and tea in the lobby were appreciated. The beds are super comfy and lighting fantastic. Not the cheapest hotel in Avalon but well worth it. I hope to come back!

The rooms were a little small but very nicely decorated and efficient and comfortable for two adults. You can't beat the location, one block off the main street with lots of restaurants, shopping and beach.

Great location. Check in was easy with some options to use discounts on local restaurants. They give you $20 to spend but you have to use it the day of check in (fine print) or else it's not honored. Rooms are nice-smaller side but clean and efficient.

We arrived at Catalina Island off the Ferry at 10.30am and went straight to the Hotel. We checked in but obviously the room was not ready yet but we were able to leave our baggage in a baggage storage area and they said at reception they would text me when our room was available. I got notified that our room was ready at 1.00pm so we went back and got the keys to our room. The room was very clean,comfortable and air conditioned. We slept well as the bed was very comfortable. There is no breakfast service available at this Hotel but there is a Bistro available on site were you can purchase breakfast items on a chargable basis. I can highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel Atwater is a revelation. Super clean, very helpful and kind staff, luxurious rooms. Not to mention the beach towels, gym access. and $30 breakfast credit. It is steps from the water and delicious eateries. I've stayed in every hotel in Avalon and this is tops. Will return!

I had credits for restaurants in the area from Atwater but didn't understand how or where the coupons were. 100 percent recommended this location despite my confusion. Very clean hotel with excellent location for pedestrian style holiday.

Beautiful and convenient property - should have coffee makers in the room, first hotel we have stayed in that I can remember that has not had coffee - they do have a nice but expensive coffee shop downstairs close to the elevators, but not the same as enjoying that first cup in your room without having to get dressed and leave your room

Good room which was well equipped. Staff very friendly. Only slight let down was no restaurant in the hotel. We also found, being late November, there were not many eating options outside the hotel - and of those available many had fully shut before 8 if not earlier.

Beautiful lobby, bell service for luggage to and from the pier. Staff were friendly and helpful but could never reach the desk by phone and the desk was unmanned for a period of time. Supplied complimentary prosecco and when asked, had sparkling cider but they forgot to bring to the room. Rooms were very small with only one stool for sitting. Complimentary bottled water and a small refrigerator were lovely amenities. Close to everything and didn’t have to walk up a hill.

One reason we like to stay at the Atwater is because they keep it spotless clean all the time. The lobby is large and beautifully appointed and so relaxing with comfortable sofas and chairs and ice water at the ready 24/7. The rooms are very clean as well and this hotel has an elevator which is a welcome amenity. The staff is very friendly and eager to help with any questions, directions etc. The area reserved for light breakfast items is also always clean.

I will stay at this hotel again. A huge plus was we arrived early and the staff did not hesitate to find us an available room. We stopped in to see if they could hold our bags for a few hours before check in and they immediately found us an available room which I did not expect, that was a huge plus, we appreciate the staff for that especially Bay who was the one who helped us. The rooms were clean and the common areas were aesthetically pleasing. The location is right in the middle of everything and close to casino point.

This is beautiful hotel, very centrally located. Staff was friendly, they even have an on site coffee bar and offer champagne and waters upon arrival. They also provide luggage service to/from the ferry. Highly recommended.
