Great location in downtown Del Mar just two blocks from the coast but with a great view of the ocean. Rustic Spanish style hotel w charming room. Comfortable bed, log fireplace, balcony w views. Romantic stay.

My BF and I enjoyed everything about our stay. We booked the private room with the jacuzzi. The location was perfect and we had the best view to watch the sunset! Farmers market was right across the street and there’s a restaurants right outside too. Super safe location, staff/owners are sweet and welcoming. We will be back :))

Sort of a funky place that is charming and eclectic. Bed was very comfortable, room was clean and quiet. We had the garden view room and while the garden is small it’s very nice. Only had a couple of suggestions for improvement- the hair dryer did not work and please consider putting 2 hooks on the back of the bathroom door - there is NO place to hang bath towels to dry. Also, there was no bottled water in the little fridge (which was not plugged in) and no where to get one at check in. Would be nice for you to have two bottles on the table in the room. This is a comfortable place to stay and different from a sterile chain hotel!

Incredible property with lovely detail to design. Felt like a Spanish mission. Very secluded once behind gate. So clean and visually appealing. Felt incredibly relaxed the moment You walked in. Waterfalls through are soothing. Each room is unique with own special touches. It feels like you’re staying in your own bedroom, not a ‘hotel’. The Premier corner room was exceptional - great size, very private , large wrap around patio including hot tub, grill, table and chairs, love seat and fire pit - all with an ocean view. Highly recommend for a romantic getaway. Will definitely return when visiting in the future.

Omg can't say enough good things about this place! Staff was FANTASTIC so so friendly and helpful. The rooms are immaculate the bed is super comfy best night sleep in ages! This place is so unique its like stepping into an italian villa so charming I could just hang out there and see nothing else and be perfectly content. I was in the Van Gogh room and it had a great ocean view. Now is not your typical chain hotel they even had real keys! So no ice machine vending machines etc. But who needs it! Had a nice little walkable town with shops and tons of restaurants. Highly recommend and will be back!

This property is very charming and unique. Quite boho. I loved the leaded windows and the Juliet balcony. There was a nice ocean view from my 2nd floor window. I enjoyed the fireplace and the fire log that was included with the room. The ladies who work at the front desk were so friendly and polite that it would be worth it to return to this hotel just to see them.

This is a must see amazing beauty. Neatly laid out. Community fireplace in the morning, why you're drinking your coffee Quiet. It is one of the nicest places I've ever stayed in California.

The owner was so gracious and walked me to my room and turned on the fountains for ambiance. Very safe location as I was traveling alone. Very eclectic

Old style hotel, reasonably priced for both the room and pets, clean, comfortable and quiet. Small staff that are very friendly. No coffee maker in the room, nor an ironing board, but both available in the corridor. No breakfast or food pantry available, but close to many eating establishments. Some complimentary fruits and pastries were available in the morning. Free parking and two blocks from ocean. We would stay here again.

this place was dirty. It was unsafe. There were people outside harassing us. They were doing construction. It was noisy. The restaurant had mold. The sheets were dirty. The lamps were not working not enough parking.

When I arrived at 8:45 pm and they walked me to the room, the doors and windows were wide open, no screens. Airing out? A lot of plants around. The mattress pad was too small and felt on edges. Woke up with 7 bed bug or bug bites around my ankles which itch. Saw particles on sheets near ankles. Checking out and found ants on clothes in suitcase, I’m out of hearDel Mar is one of nicest areas near beach and this is tired old place and not cheap.

I wouldn’t come back. There were ants in the second floor room I was in. They gave me a stained bedspread with a big hole to put on the bed since I had a dog ( not super pet friendly). There were spider webs in the common area. The skylight didn’t have a shade with a remote (they make them), so it was super bright first thing in the morning. Oh and the picture of the nude woman above the bed in the room next door was distasteful.

The property is very unique and has a great theme, setting to it. Staff are nice. However, the cleanliness within the room needs to be better. We had moths, 4 or 5 huge daddy long leg spiders, ant trail from the toilet to the shower corner, and silver fish on the ceiling. And cob webs underneath the headboard portion above the pillows.

Each room was personally crafted and curated, in addition to the number of details the owners had thought of to ensure guests' comfort. It was quiet, clean, and housekeeping was spotless I would stay again!

I stayed in the Monet room, which was perfect for a single person or couple. I stayed as a single with my small dog. I had plenty of room for my yoga mat and his crate along with his separate dog bed. A small desk space for my laptop and shelves for my books. The added bonuses were the jet bathtub, the nice wood framed bed, bed bench, day bed, tiny balcony with a beautiful cascading garden water feature. And many artistic touches. It was quiet and serene. I would love to stay here again.

I like to start by saying the lady works at the desk is great. She is from Thailand and I also speak Thai so we had a fun time talking but the places definitely not peaceful as it says in some of the reviews. The hotel sits right off a main road and even though there is a wall in front, you could still hear the traffic and of course landscapers were mowing grass at 8 AM in the morning. The rooms are charming, and very accommodating, but not insulated for sound. You can also hear the people next-door taking a shower The sheets and blankets were very nice.

Unique, charming place. Walking close to Del Mar village, shops, dining, etc. and beach. I had a room on the 2nd/top floor which had a partial view of the ocean. Great location and views for the price.

Stay was good...our only issues with the hotel was floors had sand all over and no housekeeping services. I wished we knew this in advance. The owners are very nice and friendly. Roo S could use some repairs/updating. Our room was very tiny and virtually zero storage space. They call it an ocean view, but you only catch a small window of it. The place is very quaint and convenient walk to downtown Del Mar and the beach.

I was on the first floor and you could hear the guests above me.Also, the room had a combo bath and shower. There was not anything on the floor of the tub to prevent you from slipping and hurting yourself.

This is a lovely, fun hotel within walking distance of the beach and of great dining spots. Beautiful ocean view in the upstairs rooms. It really felt like we could leave our lives behind and have a getaway.

A charming and eclectic property that is well past its prime. Each of the guestrooms are decorated in a different style. Mine was entitled the 'Zen'. Room was full of some Japanese, some Chineses antiques. More of the Thrift Shop Variety. Made you feel you were sleeping in an Antique shop, an old, dark, and dusty Antique shop. Mattress felt old, with no support. I cannot say I felt comfortable.

The staff was lovely. The bed was so comfortable, the linens so soft and luxurious. The property was quirky and dated, but everything else was GREAT and it was a fantastic price for the area.

The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. The hotel and room has style and nostalgia with a home away from home feel. This hotel is truly a hidden gem and I look forward to my next stay.

My husband and I had a great anniversary here. The owners went above and beyond making us feel right at home. The place has a lot of character they did a great job creating a place where you feel like your in another country. Very beautiful vibes.

We loved our room and the view. It was cozy and much more “breathable” than a standard hotel room would be. The location is prime for downtown Del Mar and was easy to get around on foot. The minor things for us because we only stayed a night was the bathtub had a leaky faucet and the windows were crickety. The front door window was see thru at night and no blind to cover it. Otherwise it was perfect and they were so sweet and accommodating for an early check in. We would stay here again.

Our stay was absolutely amazing. The room was clean and the view was amazing. The staff treated us like family and genuinely cared about our needs. We had a medical emergency come up and they were considerate in of our needs.

My friend and I had a wonderful stay at Les Artistes Inn. The hotel is full of charm and character, with a unique atmosphere that made our visit special. It’s in a great location, just a short walk from shops and restaurants. The staff were kind and helpful throughout our stay, and the beds were incredibly comfortable.

The staff was lovely. The bed was so comfortable, the linens so soft and luxurious. The property was quirky and dated, but everything else was GREAT and it was a fantastic price for the area.

My BF and I enjoyed everything about our stay. We booked the private room with the jacuzzi. The location was perfect and we had the best view to watch the sunset! Farmers market was right across the street and there’s a restaurants right outside too. Super safe location, staff/owners are sweet and welcoming. We will be back :))

Unique, charming place. Walking close to Del Mar village, shops, dining, etc. and beach. I had a room on the 2nd/top floor which had a partial view of the ocean. Great location and views for the price.

Room was charming and tasteful - being in the room was super peaceful and being out in Del Mar was super convenient. We walked to dinner and breakfast and the beach. Perfect staycation spot.

We stayed in the Zen themed room and upon entering we loved it from the lovely decor and physical structure of the room to the amenities and the lovely breeze coming through the tiny but lovely back patio French doors. It is very close to the beach and I have to say that we had no ocean view but we did not miss it! This is not a cookie cutter hotel, it’s quaint and lovely. If you’re looking for a lovely, quiet place that has loads of charm, walking distance to shopping, restaurants, the beach and really wonderful public spaces, this is the place!

Old style hotel, reasonably priced for both the room and pets, clean, comfortable and quiet. Small staff that are very friendly. No coffee maker in the room, nor an ironing board, but both available in the corridor. No breakfast or food pantry available, but close to many eating establishments. Some complimentary fruits and pastries were available in the morning. Free parking and two blocks from ocean. We would stay here again.

This is a lovely, fun hotel within walking distance of the beach and of great dining spots. Beautiful ocean view in the upstairs rooms. It really felt like we could leave our lives behind and have a getaway.

Stay was good...our only issues with the hotel was floors had sand all over and no housekeeping services. I wished we knew this in advance. The owners are very nice and friendly. Roo S could use some repairs/updating. Our room was very tiny and virtually zero storage space. They call it an ocean view, but you only catch a small window of it. The place is very quaint and convenient walk to downtown Del Mar and the beach.

One of the most unique places I’ve stayed. Very nice vibe, lots of character. Making coffee in the morning was a nice but unexpected touch. I stayed in the first floor and the balcony was pretty nice, lots of plants. I would definitely recommend if you like the unconventional.

We were surprised at how tiny the room was. The pictures were deceiving! It supposedly had an ocean view but that was a teeny tiny corner of the window. The bathroom was smaller than an airplane bathroom including a shower. The worst part was that we were stung by ants all night long. They were everywhere! An infestation in multiple places in the room. Upon checking out and showing the clerk the numerous ant bites on my arms and neck she angrily said they were from my dog who had fleas. Our dog does not have fleas! As a doctor, I know the difference in what an ant and flea bite look like. We saw over 100 ants in the room and on the bed covers. She accused me of not telling them we had a dog despite showing her a receipt that I paid $50.00 the night before to the man who owns the hotel. When I asked to speak to him she said he was gone for the day. Don’t stay in this dump!
