Cute, cozy, and quiet. Great location in boys Town on Halsted. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Good continental breakfast with juice, bagels, yogurt, muffins and more. Things to know: we stayed in the English Room. It's a small room with a private bath and does not have its own climate control as the room is heated along with the rest of the house. It got very warm in the room and we had to open the window to cool it down, so if you need better temperature control, look elsewhere. The property provided us parking permits for the neighborhood, which you must swap out each day. We parked once and then walked or used Uber to get around. If you intend to use your car, you will likely spend time searching for a permitted spot. We had a great time and it really worked for us.

Unique check in process but it works. Awesome courtyard for relaxing with a beverage. Cozy B and B experience. Stayed in English room. Will be back to check out other rooms. Did not get to breakfast.

We were attending a concert and found this place last minute. What a treat!! The neighborhood was great, walkable and conveniently located! Right smack dab in the middle of a busy block, this guesthouse was a peaceful place set back off the road. Like almost anywhere in Chicago, parking is difficult. With a little patience, we found a great spot and used the parking permit provided by the hosts. Our dog found the neighborhood to be agreeable as well😉 The virtual check in was a little tricky and not what we are used to. However, Brandon and Ashley were awesome and patient while helping us walk through the required steps. If our travels bring us back to Chicago, we would absolutely stay here again✌️❤️

We will be staying there again and again. The neighborhood is amazing with bars across from the villa and next to the villa! The red line is a block away! We found a parking spot with ease, and the Villa can provide you with a parking pass if desired. We did and it was waiting for us in the room. Our room was so cozy, and clean! The bathroom had clean towels, shampoo and body wash of good brands! There was a TV in our room and a mini fridge. The pillows….i wish I knew what brand they are, I need those at my house! The best for us was the breakfast: fluffy eggs with mushrooms, mini ham and cheese croissants with a mustard bechamel sauce, blueberry cake and freshly made biscuits, fresh fruit, yogurt, and granola, fresh coffee and juice! It was the most amazing start to our day. Shout out to our host, making the breakfast from scratch for everyone! Five stars. A hidden gem!

I wasn't able to find parking even though I had a parking permit. I had asked about parking before I stayed at the house. I never got a response back. When I arrived, I asked about parking, and the host directed me to their guidebook on the app. She wouldn't give me any info regarding parking in their area. So I decided not to stay there. I had reserved two nights.

It is awesome the diferent decoration on rooms, they are, maybe tiny, but you get everything you need. Kintchen was my favorite part, you can cook and get a realy good breakfast. And Beth, i hope write well the name, she was kind and helpful, thanks a lot!!! You can get a good time, moroccan room is great

The photos on the listing show a much prettier place than what we found. The room was a little dingy. The white trim and white doors were either dirty or maybe just stained but either way they need attention. The entry corridor smelled faintly of sewage but fortunately this didn’t filter through to our room. The bathroom was updated but the water pressure in the shower was an issue especially for washing hair. It was a contactless check in and check out so zero interaction with staff. If a breakfast was available there was no indication of one. The bed was comfy and the location was good so there were a couple of positives. I visit Chicago often and wouldn’t stay here again especially for longer than one night.

The sheets and the confortar were extremely dirty. I even tried to flip the pillow covers so I can sleep, and it was even worse on the other side. Love the place, just needs to be cleaned a lot better.

Great place for a budget-friendly solo stay in Chicago. Helpful staff, friendly guests, great and plentiful breakfast and clear checkin and checkout instructions. I had the Moroccan room, whilst it is not a modern hotel room, it had everything I need, was spotlessly clean and had bags more charm than a Hilton!

There were boxes and miscellaneous items laying all over the living room and kitchen. It had a strong odor and it just appeared to that someone was living there and had not picked there things up and organized. There was an iron board in the middle of the room: The bedroom appeared clean and read for a guest. The smell was much stronger. We used the parking pass and never returned after checking in.

They offered early check in and late check our for a small fee and luggage storage which was super helpful. Host was repsonsive and so polite, with very clear instructions for self check in, and the space is absolutely adorable, clean and well maintained with a lovely patio area in front. Pet friendly was a HUGE BONUS too bc ita hard to find dog friendly spots and I love to travel with my little guy. We had a wonderful stay and will be back again. Thank you!

All we wanted was a clean room with a comfortable bed and a decent bathroom. We got a clean room, that’s all. The pictures do not give an accurate representation. Quirky old house is one thing, run down and falling apart is another. This place needs some TLC. We were in #5, and The curtains were ripped and falling off of the rods. The toilet ran all night. The lightbulbs need to be replaced in the overhead light. The mattress was like sleeping in a hole until WE turned it, and when we did we found two support bars for the bed on the floor. The end tables were not put together correctly and were rickety. I changed the water jug after it was empty for 2 days. The cabinets upstairs fell apart and were just left broken and falling down in the hallway with everything in it. There is a desk in the dinning room piled with mail and junk. CLEAN UP. The breakfast was inconsistent. There were rats running around the garden when we came back at night. I have stayed in people’s homes all over the world, I have a great rating on Airbnb. I will not be returning here. The details are what matters and there is no attention to detail here. The best part was talking to the other guests at breakfast.

We parked exactly where the instructions told us to park and we still got a $75 ticket. We were sitting outside in the evening and saw a rat scurrying on the property. Our room was fine. It was exactly as expected. In the morning there were not only zero coffee cups in the provided area by our room but there was only 1 cup in the breakfast area. Won’t be staying there again.

Beautiful house, perfect for anyone who wanted to experience a historic Chicago home. The courtyard and room were gorgeous and clean. Soooo much better than any other place I've stayed in Chicago, tbh. And I didn't realize it's in Boystown which was a huge plus for us. Breakfast felt like home, you kind of just have free range of the kitchen and food. I had a Kodiak power bowl which was perfect as I'm a strength trainer. There was something for everyone.

Stayed there overnight for a concert. The ambiance outside was awesome like something out of a fairy garden. Our room was small but it was just me and my daughter and we loved it.

No one to talk to so unusual checking in process but it worked well. Didn’t see anyone else at all. Small room but really dated and really needs a refresh. Looks nice from outside and felt like a safe area close to Wrigley

This was a cute little suprise tucked in behind a row of store fronts in a busy area. It had a little courtyard which would be nice in warmer weather. There was plenty of grab and go food for breakfast. Overall, a pleasant find. However, there is a bright light that shines into room 8 in spite of curtain and a blackout shade might be a nice addition for that room. In addition, the check out maybe should be sent to people the night before as we left very early and had not received it yet. Luckily we had a short enough flight that we were able to respond by 11 am deadline but that could have been tricky depending on timing of Wifi availability on our flight.

The room itself was great and the bathroom was great as well. I had my own little refrigerator which was nice. The bed was super comfortable. I would stay in this room again. The only negative experience I had was my loud neighbors who were yelling and screaming and slamming things. One of my neighbors tried to enter the room late at night which I was confused because my room is in the very back of the section of the area. After 3 attempts of her trying to get in she gave up. Despite these things which the owners have zero control over, I will stay here again on my next visit!

This is the definition of a budget stay. The directions arrived by email as advised and the check in was easy. There are absolutely no frills to this stay and it’s only perfect if you’re on a night out in Boystown or similar and just need a place to crash. The light wasn’t working in the room, the door stuck and there are motion activated CCTV cameras across the premises which feels a bit big brotheresque. Across the property are lots of notices saying what to do, what not to do etc and it feels a bit authoritarian. The stay was cheap and served it purpose, but if you’re expecting anything more than the basic, don’t. There are no keys to the property and it’s all through a key code; forget the code and you’re done for, because you’re not allowed to ring the bell for the staff between 9pm-9am (in true form, there’s a sign!).

The photos on the listing show a much prettier place than what we found. The room was a little dingy. The white trim and white doors were either dirty or maybe just stained but either way they need attention. The entry corridor smelled faintly of sewage but fortunately this didn’t filter through to our room. The bathroom was updated but the water pressure in the shower was an issue especially for washing hair. It was a contactless check in and check out so zero interaction with staff. If a breakfast was available there was no indication of one. The bed was comfy and the location was good so there were a couple of positives. I visit Chicago often and wouldn’t stay here again especially for longer than one night.

Is a clean beatiful antique victorian house, but it was difficult to understand the check in and check out process, the app is not very clear, and is a process in itself I just wished I didn't had to go through I wish it was easier, and I wouldn't have had to wait in the cold outside for a while trying to figure out how to open the doors or how to find my room

Great place for a budget-friendly solo stay in Chicago. Helpful staff, friendly guests, great and plentiful breakfast and clear checkin and checkout instructions. I had the Moroccan room, whilst it is not a modern hotel room, it had everything I need, was spotlessly clean and had bags more charm than a Hilton!

We were attending a concert and found this place last minute. What a treat!! The neighborhood was great, walkable and conveniently located! Right smack dab in the middle of a busy block, this guesthouse was a peaceful place set back off the road. Like almost anywhere in Chicago, parking is difficult. With a little patience, we found a great spot and used the parking permit provided by the hosts. Our dog found the neighborhood to be agreeable as well😉 The virtual check in was a little tricky and not what we are used to. However, Brandon and Ashley were awesome and patient while helping us walk through the required steps. If our travels bring us back to Chicago, we would absolutely stay here again✌️❤️

They offered early check in and late check our for a small fee and luggage storage which was super helpful. Host was repsonsive and so polite, with very clear instructions for self check in, and the space is absolutely adorable, clean and well maintained with a lovely patio area in front. Pet friendly was a HUGE BONUS too bc ita hard to find dog friendly spots and I love to travel with my little guy. We had a wonderful stay and will be back again. Thank you!

I wasn't able to find parking even though I had a parking permit. I had asked about parking before I stayed at the house. I never got a response back. When I arrived, I asked about parking, and the host directed me to their guidebook on the app. She wouldn't give me any info regarding parking in their area. So I decided not to stay there. I had reserved two nights.

Rude. Wrong code. When finally got code from the lady who said it’s rude I woke her up! The room was not the room with two beds requested. No one explained the parking so it cost me $100. We don’t stay. Walked in. Closed door and left. Refund please.

Cute, cozy, and quiet. Great location in boys Town on Halsted. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Good continental breakfast with juice, bagels, yogurt, muffins and more. Things to know: we stayed in the English Room. It's a small room with a private bath and does not have its own climate control as the room is heated along with the rest of the house. It got very warm in the room and we had to open the window to cool it down, so if you need better temperature control, look elsewhere. The property provided us parking permits for the neighborhood, which you must swap out each day. We parked once and then walked or used Uber to get around. If you intend to use your car, you will likely spend time searching for a permitted spot. We had a great time and it really worked for us.

We will be staying there again and again. The neighborhood is amazing with bars across from the villa and next to the villa! The red line is a block away! We found a parking spot with ease, and the Villa can provide you with a parking pass if desired. We did and it was waiting for us in the room. Our room was so cozy, and clean! The bathroom had clean towels, shampoo and body wash of good brands! There was a TV in our room and a mini fridge. The pillows….i wish I knew what brand they are, I need those at my house! The best for us was the breakfast: fluffy eggs with mushrooms, mini ham and cheese croissants with a mustard bechamel sauce, blueberry cake and freshly made biscuits, fresh fruit, yogurt, and granola, fresh coffee and juice! It was the most amazing start to our day. Shout out to our host, making the breakfast from scratch for everyone! Five stars. A hidden gem!

This was my first visit to Chicago, and my first visit to a bed and breakfast. What a great experience! The house/home [not to mention the garden] was uniqeu and very comfortable. It was a journey back to a real Chicago home. In trading offf the antiseptic "hotel" feel or the typical air B&B experience I had a very comfortable and beautiful place to stay. The host, Brandon, was gracious and made a delicious breakfast for guests. I felt comfortable, safe, and I slept well - and was surrounded by antique beauty. It was totally worth the trade off. The other guests were from all over the world and it was interesting to observe their first visit to the Windy City. The shared bathroom was easy to adapt to - and all the technology, wi-fi and modern conveniences were available to assist my comfort and safety. Highly recommend this if you are interested in an authentic taste of Chicago. Thank you!

Complimentary breakfast was far beyond "continental", it was handmade from scratch and incredible! That's what really stood out. Otherwise my stay was also great, everything the listing claimed to be.

All we wanted was a clean room with a comfortable bed and a decent bathroom. We got a clean room, that’s all. The pictures do not give an accurate representation. Quirky old house is one thing, run down and falling apart is another. This place needs some TLC. We were in #5, and The curtains were ripped and falling off of the rods. The toilet ran all night. The lightbulbs need to be replaced in the overhead light. The mattress was like sleeping in a hole until WE turned it, and when we did we found two support bars for the bed on the floor. The end tables were not put together correctly and were rickety. I changed the water jug after it was empty for 2 days. The cabinets upstairs fell apart and were just left broken and falling down in the hallway with everything in it. There is a desk in the dinning room piled with mail and junk. CLEAN UP. The breakfast was inconsistent. There were rats running around the garden when we came back at night. I have stayed in people’s homes all over the world, I have a great rating on Airbnb. I will not be returning here. The details are what matters and there is no attention to detail here. The best part was talking to the other guests at breakfast.

Don’t expect any human interaction. This is supposed to be a bed and breakfast but without the breakfast. There was some fruit, oatmeal and cereal, grab and go. On the card in the room it said to contact Ashley for anything, never saw this Ashley and there was no phone number to contact her. Location was good, just a few minute walk to the baseball stadium.

We were in the Moroccan for two nights. Quiet, clean comfortable roon, with private bath. Easy access. Walking distance to Wrigley Field. Arranged convenient parking down the street using Spothero so no worries about car. Was coincerend about check in process, waiting until 48 hours prior to check in to get needed form since we'd be on road, but it was OK

The staff was very quick to respond when we had a question or needed help. My only complaint was our room (4) was in desperate need of repair. The bathroom door was very damaged on both sides and made a terrible sound when opening and closing, which isn’t fun late at night. The peel and stick tiles were coming up on the floor and the bed frame/box spring was very unstable. We did see into some other rooms and they appeared to be nicer so maybe we picked the wrong room. I would highly recommend maintenance on this room before booking again. The location is great and easily walkable to Wrigley and shops/restaurants. Parking is very tricky and even though they offer permits and a very detailed guidebook explaining parking we opted to pay for parking just down the street. The room was clean but again it felt very worn.

This was perfect for me - a solo traveler who doesn’t care too much about the property except for cleanliness and a comfortable bed. Villa Toscana is both of those things. It’s very close to Wrigley and convenient for me when visiting family. The property itself is an old home so it’s…old. It has the qualities of an older home. It’s not The Ritz but it’s clean and cozy and comfortable. I need to find out what sheets they use because they were so soft. I will 100% be staying again.

I visited the Villa Toscano a few days ago for work. Check in was a bit confusing because I never received the e- mail with instructions. Luckily one of the hosts was working in the courtyard and he was very helpful at getting me checked in. I was in Room #8, which is behind the kitchen with its own outside entrance and bathroom. The room was very small, but adequate for my needs. The breakfast options were adequate with waffles, cereal, oatmeal, muffins toast, fruit, etc. the location was perfect right in the middle of Boystown. Close to restaurants, bars, clubs and close to the Belmont station. I will definitely plan on being back. It fit perfectly with my vibe.
