This room is exactly what I was looking for. It was quaint, spotless and I'd definitely go back again. The only things that I was not thrilled with (and they were certainly not deal breakers: ) It was a little confusing knowing where to check in. You had to go to another building in the middle of the shops. I was early, and they did their best, and got me in my room super fast. I was greeted with a smile, and iced coffee (my choice of beverage). Also, the bed has noisy springs. The air conditioner cycled from silent to quietish, to loud. But it worked really well. Again, didn't bother me, but it might be annoying to others. Breakfast was continental. I chose a croissant (light, crispy and hot). It came with butter and two flavors of jelly, Juice, coffee/tea and a full sized yogurt were included. They also had muffins. You can get it served in a basket, or "to go". All in all, if I ever visit Smithville overnight, I would certainly stay here. (Room 312 if you want to look it up).

The staff were nice and accommodating but the room wasn’t great. The bed was uncomfortable and the blanket had stains on it. The shower curtain was covered in mold. Overall the room was old and not well maintained.

The room was very clean. Two bed and a sitting area and a table and chairs. Room also had refrigerator and a microwave. The set up was fabulous. The cafe served delicious treats and beverages. Thank you!

What a wonderful little gem ! The staff were absolutely outstanding and hospitable !! So friendly and warm we thought we were staying with family . This was our first visit and we will definitely be back. The room was so beautiful with comfortable beds and very clean and quiet. This is such an amazing little area between the wonderful Inn you can stay at that is a wonderful bed to the wonderful little shops, to the cute little restaurants. This is a place to go for even a great girls getaway! We even got pedicures done at the nail salon which was one of the best I've ever had !!! . It was just an amazing visit to feel safe while walking around and just having a really fantastic time . Even everyone working in all the shops are absolutely wonderful. This was one of the best getaways that we ever had been on thank you so much.!!

The room was spacious & clean. Great location in order to shop and eat in the village. Staff at the check in desk/cafe were super friendly & helpful. The Barn room was nice because it was at the outskirts of the village giving a little privacy.

We've stayed at The Colonial Inn several times in the past. It is always a very pleasurable experience. There are multiple food options,either within walking distance or a shirt drive away. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, always! The shopping in the surrounding village is wonderful and varied. You feel like you can slow down and have a relaxing time while staying there. We stayed in room 204 and our bed was very comfortable, which is important to me, with a finicky back. I feel like the outer bed linens could be cleaner tho. I'm not sure that they were changed before our stay, so we just peeled them back. We asked for and received daily cleaning service in the room, which is something you can't get at a hotel chain these days. Service there(from Angel) was excellent. We keep going back because it's an enjoyable experience staying there, and all tourist points, up and down the Jersey shore line are very accessible via nearby highways. You'll enjoy your stay there, I'm sure.

The location and quaintness of the room set in rustic decoration was aluring and romantic. Like Fred and Ethels. The shower was great and unexpected. What a place to unwind. The rooms should get a cleaning of cobweb however and there some dirt in a corner. But great visit.

My husband & i stayed at the barns. The room was large with 2 queen beds, a sitting area and two large chairs. There was also a fridge and microwave. We went off season so i think we were only ones in the building which made it very quiet which we liked. Staff was super nice. I left an item in the room and they called and offered to mail it to me. Shops were fun to explore and we ate at three different restaurants while there.

The room was very clean but awkward in set up. The living room had the air conditioning but the bedroom did not. The bed was on some sort of metal platform that sweaked as you moved. The tub did not have a stopper so you could not take a bath only a shower. Overall our stay was good but property can use some updating.

We loved the friendliness of the front desk staff. She made check in easy and quick. The cafe was well stocked and clean. We were impressed with the perks that came with our stay. We received free cookies and and a beverage at check-in plus the promise of drinks or more cookies throughout our stay. A light breakfast was provided with between fresh muffins or croissants and included juice, tea or coffee and yogurt. You could enjoy this at the cafe or return to your room with a basket and eat in privacy. The rooms are clean and enough towels and toiletries were provided to last several days. The room included a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The had plenty of blankets and the pillowes are substantial, not those flimsy puffs of air you get at some hotels. We took advantage of the close proximity of all the shops Smithville had to offer by walking for hours and then enjoyed dinner at Fred and Ethels later that night. We would love to return to this Inn again!

From the moment we walked through the door, we were enchanted! With colonial music softly playing as we checked in, offered tea/coffee and handed assorted warm shortbread cookies, we knew we were right where we belonged. The staff was lovely, smiling and genuine. Our room was actually a small cottage filled with antique furniture and decor…it was like stepping into the 18th century! We were very comfortable in the bed, the pillows were comfortable, and we can’t wait for our next visit to the area!

We keep going back because it's an enjoyable experience staying there, and all tourist points, up and down the Jersey shore line are very accessible via nearby highways. We've stayed at The Colonial Inn several times in the past. It is always a very pleasurable experience. There are multiple food options,either within walking distance or a shirt drive away. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, always! The shopping in the surrounding village is wonderful and varied. You feel like you can slow down and have a relaxing time while staying there. We stayed in room 204 and our bed was very comfortable, which is important to me, with a finicky back. I feel like the outer bed linens could be cleaner tho. I'm not sure that they were changed before our stay, so we just peeled them back. Staff was very approachable and helpful. Nice, clean and comfortable room. Comfortable bed and pillows. Towels were the best of any I used during my three weeks of travel. The bathtub/shower was slow to drain. Minor issue.

When I booked this property I didn’t realize it was in a restored (plus newer replicas) historic village. It was on the edge of the New Jersey Pine Barrens which is why we booked. The weather was not great and it was relatively early in the summer season so it was pretty quiet. It might be a bit busy later on in the season. Lots of shops and good dining options on site. Nice, comfortable room with a colonial/early 1800s motif. Cool little train that ran around the property.

We had a good time here. It's peaceful and the people are very nice. The room was clean and kept up well. There are a few shops on the property and a couple of game centers for kids. The restaurants serve great food. I'll definitely be visiting again.

We loved the friendliness of the front desk staff. She made check in easy and quick. The cafe was well stocked and clean. We were impressed with the perks that came with our stay. We received free cookies and and a beverage at check-in plus the promise of drinks or more cookies throughout our stay. A light breakfast was provided with between fresh muffins or croissants and included juice, tea or coffee and yogurt. You could enjoy this at the cafe or return to your room with a basket and eat in privacy. The rooms are clean and enough towels and toiletries were provided to last several days. The room included a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The had plenty of blankets and the pillowes are substantial, not those flimsy puffs of air you get at some hotels. We took advantage of the close proximity of all the shops Smithville had to offer by walking for hours and then enjoyed dinner at Fred and Ethels later that night. We would love to return to this Inn again!

The room was spacious & clean. Great location in order to shop and eat in the village. Staff at the check in desk/cafe were super friendly & helpful. The Barn room was nice because it was at the outskirts of the village giving a little privacy.

We always stay at the Inn when visiting the kids, who live in Smithville. The rooms are so comfy and clean, and there are stores and restaurants outside your door. Love it!

The Inn is located right in the quaint shopping area of Historic Smithville. Rooms are comfortable, breakfast is a short walk and you can carry your breakfast basket back to your room. We always stay there over the holidays. Excellent!

We had a nice continental breakfast, it was very good. It was packed very nicely in a basket and was still warm. It was quiet and the room we had was very comfortable. The bed was comfortable .We had a nice time, and will be back.

The staff was warm and welcoming. Our room was beautiful and spacious and it was great knowing our breakfast, with warm muffins or croissants, would be waiting in the morning. It was a wonderful stay again!!! We will certainly be back! Love the hot cider. It was delicious! I had to have a cup for the ride home. Yum!

We were in one of the rooms in the Village. On entering the room, there was an odor. At first we thought it was the bedspread so we removed it. Then we thought it was the rugs. Maybe a combination of both. The room looked like it had been furnished at a Thrift store. I love antiques but this furniture was just worn. The shower needed renovating. The base was old and there were caps in the tile surround. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were flat and the blanket was too short for the bed. If we stay again we will request a room in the Inn. We did have a beautiful day and the Village is fun to explore the cute shops!
