We had a wonderful overnight stay for our anniversary. The Inn is beautiful with all the old charm from the turn of the century, but modern facilities. Our room was very comfortable! The breakfast menu had many choices and was excellent! Extremely friendly and accommodating host as well.

We enjoyed the cleanliness and simplicity of the decor, there were a lot of decorative touches to keep the place "within theme" and cozy, without being overwhelming. The property itself felt almost secluded out of the city with the trees that wrapped around the back garden it was quiet and serene to drink coffee in the next morning. listening to the water feature was relaxing, and there was a nice variety of plants in the gardens.to enjoy. The breakfast was a good start to the day and we appreciated having coffee early.

This is a beautiful historic inn. Our stay included a very substantial breakfast, with more than one menu choice, served in the lovely dining room. We stayed in the smaller Colorado room, which was immaculate with period furnishings. The queen bed was against a wall, which means if two are sleeping in it, the person on the wall side's egress is climbing out the foot of the bed, however, moving it out would block the beautiful fireplace. The room itself was comfortable in size and had a nice chair for relaxing or reading. The toilet is in a very small closet room, which was a bit snug for me as a taller person with long legs. This is not a complaint, but something to be aware of when choosing this smaller room, vs. one of the larger ones at the inn. (It is the least expensive room at the inn). The sink was nicely accessible off to one side in the main room. The shower was small, but beautifully done in the space available. We were there for an event the next day, which was also catered by the inn and served in a separate dining room. It was perfect. The innkeeper was pleasant and even carried our suitcases upstairs when we arrived--a nice bonus, as we arrived tired after hiking all day!

We loved our stay! Everyone was so nice! From the time we arrived to the moment we left, we felt as if we were at home away from home. I had a knee injury before our arrival so I did struggle with the stairs. Not a criticism at all, just something for travelers to be aware of. We stayed in the Colorado room which was comfortable and very quiet. All the decor was lovely and we were in love with everything about it. Thank you everyone at the Lumber Baron Inn- you all were simply wonderful.

The Lumber Barron Inn is tucked away in the Potter Highlands district of Denver. It offers a quaint, unique bed & breakfast experience that transports you back in time to the late 1890's. This Queen Annes style mansion has been restored to its former glory with insanely beautiful woodwork that reflects the lumber empire of John Mouat, the original owner and builder. It is absolutely charming with beautifully landscaped exterior and garden.

This is a beautifully-restored mansion in a pretty neighborhood. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Owners John and Elaine as well as staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Best of all, breakfast is five star-wonderful!

Wonderful stay in a beautiful historic building! The neighborhood is charming and safe, and the jacuzzi was absolutely perfect for relaxing after a long day. Highly recommend!

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at this beautiful B&B for 5 glorious days. The owners Elaine and Joel were incredibly gracious, friendly and accommodating. My room (The Anniversary Room) was even more gorgeous than the photos could ever indicate. The room was spotless, the jetted tub relaxing, the atmosphere quiet and the bed was honestly the comfortable I have ever slept on. I slept perfectly each night peacefully with no noise at all to awaken me. Each morning I enjoyed a gourmet breakfast with a fabulous coffee blend. The Scottish flare on the French toast and waffles were delightful. Sunday afternoon my daughter joined me for tea and THE MOST amazing scones, cookies and sandwiches. My daughter is a vegan and they were able to accommodate this special request. The highlight of the week was the card reading with Elaine, following our tea. She offered wonderful insights and suggestions that my daughter and I found to be spot on. In all my years of traveling, this had to be the best lodging experience with absolutely the most comfortable bed and exquisite food. Elaine especially greeted me each morning with her friendliness and a strong cup of coffee. I highly recommend this establishment for lodging and dining for weekend brunch or Victorian afternoon tea. Thank you to my host and hostess for a wonderful stay and I know I will be returning in the future.

This is not a hotel. It’s a castle! In close proximity to downtown and conference center ($10 Uber ride). Absolutely unique stay in a rustic yet very clean room, much attention to detail and a fantastic bed. Incredible breakfast options included. Great staff, too. Booked this last moment for a conference and I’m blown away by the experience.

Un B&B une maison victorienne incontournable à Denver ! Le secteur calme safe et bucolique au printemps. La décoration du 19 ème siècle vous transporte dans le passé . Très propre et un accueil chaleureux. Les petits déjeuners fait maison sont excellents bref j’y reviendrai certainement…🙏

This place is amazing! We had so much fun and the owners are incredible people. It was clean, cozy and beautiful. It’s an old house and you can tell they are always trying to keep on top of the repairs that come with a historic house. I didn’t feel scared or uneasy once, as there is a rumor of it being haunted. We stayed in the Valentines suite. We saw a few lights in photos that were probably reflections or old windows, and a few lights flicker (old electric) and creaky noises (old house). However it was warm and welcoming and I slept like a baby! There were not many guests at the time when we came on a Sunday night and got lots of history from the owner. I would recommend this for couples, or friends looking for an adventure! Come mid week for less crowds, however, please be quiet and mindful. The owners are awesome people and live onsite. Don’t be a disrespectful weirdo. I’m an open skeptic so I don’t know if it’s haunted, what I do know is it was an amazing experience for whatever reason you come to stay. Breakfast and tea were awesome too! I don’t like spending a lot of hotels, but this one was worth it.

This is not a complaint, but something to be aware of when choosing this smaller room, vs. one of the larger ones at the inn. (It is the least expensive room at the inn). The sink was nicely accessible off to one side in the main room. The shower was small, but beautifully done in the space available. We were there for an event the next day, which was also catered by the inn and served in a separate dining room. It was perfect. The innkeeper was pleasant and even carried our suitcases upstairs when we arrived--a nice bonus, as we arrived tired after hiking all day!
This is a beautiful historic inn. Our stay included a very substantial breakfast, with more than one menu choice, served in the lovely dining room. We stayed in the smaller Colorado room, which was immaculate with period furnishings. The queen bed was against a wall, which means if two are sleeping in it, the person on the wall side's egress is climbing out the foot of the bed, however, moving it out would block the beautiful fireplace. The room itself was comfortable in size and had a nice chair for relaxing or reading. The toilet is in a very small closet room, which was a bit snug for me as a taller person with long legs. We loved our stay! Everyone was so nice! From the time we arrived to the moment we left, we felt as if we were at home away from home. I had a knee injury before our arrival so I did struggle with the stairs. Not a criticism at all, just something for travelers to be aware of. We stayed in the Colorado room which was comfortable and very quiet. All the decor was lovely and we were in love with everything about it. Thank you everyone at the Lumber Baron Inn- you all were simply wonderful.

The room was lovely, and the property was in a great area with lots of restaurants and shops around. Staff was super helpful and breakfast was great. Only complaint was the ac took a while to start working to cool down the room. Other than that it was perfect for a weekend getaway.

We enjoyed and appreciated the history of the home and neighborhood! Our check in was so smooth and welcoming even though we had made arrangement to check in early. We really appreciated the owner allowing us to invite a family member, who lived in the neighborhood to join us for breakfast.

The owners overwork they stated they have been up since 4 am and had no tolerance for teenagers and will not refund my money, I pad for two rooms and used non I wish them lots of happiness because money will not buy them that, care for your business, be less unpolite what goes around comes around you aren’t hurting me you are hurting your business.

Incredible place. Checkin hours are limited but was given good instructions to self checkin. As an old Victorian house it didn’t feel very warm and friendly arriving at night. But owner was very warm and friendly when we met up in morning. Breakfast was excellent. Neighborhood lovely.

We had such a wonderful time at this B&B and hope to return soon! The staff was excellent, and the Innkeeper Elaine was so sweet and accommodating! Such a beautiful building, set in the wonderful neighborhood of Sunnyside and 15 minutes to downtown Denver! Breakfast the next morning was so good! Don't hesitate to visit this gem from the Victorian era!

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at this beautiful B&B for 5 glorious days. The owners Elaine and Joel were incredibly gracious, friendly and accommodating. My room (The Anniversary Room) was even more gorgeous than the photos could ever indicate. The room was spotless, the jetted tub relaxing, the atmosphere quiet and the bed was honestly the comfortable I have ever slept on. I slept perfectly each night peacefully with no noise at all to awaken me. Each morning I enjoyed a gourmet breakfast with a fabulous coffee blend. The Scottish flare on the French toast and waffles were delightful. Sunday afternoon my daughter joined me for tea and THE MOST amazing scones, cookies and sandwiches. My daughter is a vegan and they were able to accommodate this special request. The highlight of the week was the card reading with Elaine, following our tea. She offered wonderful insights and suggestions that my daughter and I found to be spot on. In all my years of traveling, this had to be the best lodging experience with absolutely the most comfortable bed and exquisite food. Elaine especially greeted me each morning with her friendliness and a strong cup of coffee. I highly recommend this establishment for lodging and dining for weekend brunch or Victorian afternoon tea. Thank you to my host and hostess for a wonderful stay and I know I will be returning in the future.

We had a wonderful overnight stay for our anniversary. The Inn is beautiful with all the old charm from the turn of the century, but modern facilities. Our room was very comfortable! The breakfast menu had many choices and was excellent! Extremely friendly and accommodating host as well.

Was an amazing stay!! They allowed for a slightly early check-in to accommodate our plans, as well as making sure we knew how to get back in. The breakfast options are delicious and extra options are available to add to your beautifully prepared breakfast as well. The home feel, kind, loving service is outstanding to say the least. This bed and breakfast did not disappoint. We will be making future trips not only for bed and breakfast but brunch or tea time as well.

The Lumber Barron is a true treat! Beautiful Property inside and out, great location, luxury meets haunted house vibes. The Inn Keeper Joel was helpful and available, really catering to us and making our stay special. The room was clean and comfortable and beautiful! Delicious made to order breakfast served in the classic breakfast nook was a particular treat. Can’t say enough about this special stay. We will definitely be back.
